- Vinu Anuruth (7/5): It was good overall....lovely family time spent. - The views were amazing
Food and cocktails were fantastic
Massages were amazing The drive to the resort.
The gravel road was very unsafe to drive on in the rain.
It was difficult to get bookings for the cruize. Too many people booked for the weekend.
Also games were limited because of the number of people there for the long weekend.
The rifle and bow and arrow......the lady there loses interest after a while, sadly. She should be compassionate in her job.
- Brydone (10/5): -
- Valentine (10/5): - Everything was perfect, stuff was very good, the chalet was good Gravel road 😭😭 , entrance fee we were not notified about it.
- Nontando (7/5): -

- Sthembiso (7/5): It was good just make sure you have everything you need as there’s no shops near by and the tuck shop doesn’t carry much - The staff was amazing and helpful throughout the weekend. There was a smell as soon as we walked in our unit ,as if something was damp..The bathroom
In the main bedroom toilet was as licking and had an awful smell which made us really uncomfortable.
- Melanie (8/5): Enjoyed every moment. Such an incredible setting! A place that shows Gods creation and peace! - Beautifully situated.
- Siphiwe Radebe (10/5): A relaxing stay with stunning views and cozy, spacious rooms - I liked the view, the spacious and comfortable rooms, and the fire place I didn't like the long gravel road to the hotel

- Garreth (3/5): A disappointment compared to previous stays - Beautiful location and views, as always! Friendly and helpful reception. Unit was clean & well equipped. Several full rubbish bags left at the unit entrance from the previous tenant, shower soaps were empty throughout the stay. No complementary bag of wood as with previous stays. Unit was poorly serviced each day, (eg. toilet paper was only replenished request).
All in all we have been coming to Quantani for many years and this was some of the poorest stays regarding services.
- Luke (9/5): -
- Terence (7/5): -
- Angela (10/5): A beautiful, peaceful place to unwind. - The most beautiful setting, peaceful, enjoyed trips on water. The units need some upkeep especially bathrooms. Service was variable from very friendly to less helpful.
- Dinesh (10/5): - The massage n environment The long gravel road. Vehicles can easily get damaged because of that road. It needs to be tarred. No fans or air-conditioning.
- Amelia (5/5): - The chalets were spacious. The fireplace is well suited and kept us warm. The beds were comfortable but the linen is not suitable for winter. The bathroom walls were dirty and should be cleaned more often, The linen was not suitable for winter. We had a burnt pot in our kitchen. We were there to celebrate my Mum in law's 70th birthday, we booked a table at the restaurant. There were only two other tables booked but we waited for over an hour for our food. The food was cold and the spinach was straight from the fridge onto the plate not warmed. The pizza was still cold as well. The food was not brought to the table together so some of us had food and others did not.
- Theuns (10/5): Beautifull views, excellent accomodation, professional staff, very nice restaurant. -
- Mahmood (9/5): A decent stay with an amazing view! - The overall cleanliness was great and staff was very accommodating to requests. The shop was never stocked with items needed and the facilities lacked proper staffing and management. Wished there was a halal option in the restaurant that would make it easier on us.
- Ishtiaq (1/5): - The views The staff, charging exorbitant prices for everything, capitalizing on the remoteness and charging exorbitant prices. Staff and Management they way they treat guest. More activities, cater proper fishing spots

- Nishaal (8/5): A very good stay indeed. - Amazing views. Sterkfontein Dam is on another level of clean. We really enjoyed the boat tour of the Dam. Dave, the skipper of the Lazy Lady, was excellent. The fishing was bad but that was due to the windy conditions. The pool table and table tennis rooms where excellent. We spent much time there. The weather, which is beyond control, was a let down. Overcast, cold, and windy. The cleaning staff were a bit of a let down too. The first night they didn't leave dishwashing liquid which was a bit of a challenge. The next day they left the clean towels in a bag, not in the rooms and bathrooms as it was on the first day.

- Burkett (9/5): Cozy, relaxing and beautiful - Everything, the house was tidy and cozy, the premises in immaculate condition, the dam was amazingly clean and beautiful. Food and staff great and there are so many activities to choose from. I would put king size beds in main room
- Violet (7/5): The place is exceptionally beautiful - The place is extremely beautiful, scenery is amazing. Receptionists were very welcoming and explained activities in details. We arrived late at night and struggled to get the keys, we got lost in the vicinity because nobody showed us our accommodation. I find that unprofessional because we were not familiar with the place.

- Rick (9/5): Mooie ligging met prachtig uitzicht, ruim huis - Mooie ligging, prachtig uitzicht, ruim huis. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Het is wel een stuk rijden vanaf de doorgaande weg. Wij waren zowel ‘s avonds als ‘‘s ochtends helaas de enige gasten in het restaurant.

- Hashtag Lets Travel (10/5): - WE HAVE BEEN BOOKING THIS ACCOMMODATION SINCE 2012 AND THE UPGRADE IS AMAZING SERVICE AND ALL Everything was amazing
- Andre (8/5): Enjoyed it thoroughly with friends. - View was excellent from the front row of chalets. Chalets are well maintained and clean. Staff were friendly and management were helpful when we had a special request. Enjoyed the harbor an boating facilities. It would be nice to know in which Unit you are booked before you arrive. Unit we were booked in originally was not located well......no view and on top of amenities.

- Tanura (9/5): Great stay - Beautiful, peaceful setting alongside the dam. We especially enjoyed the hikes - amazing views including some wildlife.
Good activities included in the chalet card.
Chalet was neat, clean and modern and had the amenities we needed.
Helpful staff - there was an initial issue with our booking which was resolved professionally. Chalets were cleaned daily.
Restaurant was decent - understandably not the biggest range of food though.
It was windy on the water so we didn't do the boat cruise but I imagine that would be quite scenic.
Lovely family holiday - we will be back. The road there is a challenge in a sedan but we were prepared for this from other reviews.
The resort had everything we needed so we didn't need to use the road more than the once to get there and then leave.

- Devendree (10/5): Your own little piece of paradise.. - Too beautiful.. the views of the dam and the mountains. The cute horses that come to visit at night. Lots of exciting activities..Lovely breakfast, thank you Justina for taking such good care of us. The driveway to our chalet was very narrow..😪
- Martha (9/5): Superb - The location of Qwantani is amazing, surrounded by breathtaking views of the dam and mountains. Beautiful and spotlessly clean chalet, yummy breakfast and friendly staff. Lots of activities and entertainment for everyone. It was awesome. The long drive on the gravel road to Qwantani for approximately one hour.
- Naks (7/5): Good -
- Navin (10/5): Wonderful - ALL GOOD, had a wonderful experience. Although the unit had a fabulous fireplace in the living room, 2 of the 3 rooms got very cold at night. The hotel did give us a small mobile heater on the second night that did help. Ideally, they should put permanent wall panel heaters in the bedrooms, in my opinion.
- Devanand (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nereesa (6/5): Pleasant -
- Julaine (7/5): Qwantani Father's Day weekend 2025 - Pet friendly....adequate equipped chalets. The ambience of the resort. The amazing views No air cons nor heaters.
- Seni (10/5): Exceptional -
- Makopano (7/5): It was enjoyable with a view of the dam - Quietness, very private, bar, restaurant and excellent highly friendly staff. It wasn’t clean enough. The windows were not clean, room don’t have an iron but it was delivered fast when asked.
I also didn’t like staff being dishonest about boat times. We requested a boat ride earlier than 12 and we were told it starts at 12 noon. Unfortunately when we get to the harbor there was a returning trip.
- Tshitise (8/5): Very good -
- Yogs (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet, peaceful venue. Many sporting and other activities for the guests. A restaurant on the premises proved to be convenient. All good.
- Coopa (9/5): Review - Nice and peaceful. The quad biking was really awesome, and so was the boat cruise. For the price that we paid, there should have been aircons or heaters in the place. We had breakfast included, and when I asked for coffee and juice, the waitress gave me such a look as if it wasn't allowed. I would have paid if need be, but I got it and just felt her attitude was wrong. The kids went for horse riding, and the instructor leading them was beating his horse with the whip excessively. Almost to point of animal abuse.
- Pillay (4/5): Disappointing - The location of the resort overlooking the dam is beautiful and serene. The resort grounds are well maintained. The road to access the resort is very bad and this is not mentioned upfront when booking. It is a very difficult drive to do if you have children.
The chalets are quite dated, bathrooms not in the best condition.
The rooms don't have any heating or cooling.
- Dushendra (7/5): Beautiful dam, crap road entry, staff are fake - The view, the dam experience The road to the resort is terrible and we are not told in detail about this. Reception said that there is a gravel road that a normal car can go on - this is not true. You must have a 4x4 as a normal car is guaranteed to get damaged on those horrible roads. I also got stuck on the wet grass at the unit after the rain came and had to pull some fancy manoevers to get out. The staff is not very helpful and seem to lack humanity. Be careful of bull timeshare cons - they come all nicely to you thinking cos you have a nice face they can con you, like most idiots in this world - not realizing that friendliness and kindness should not be mistaken for stupidity. Terms and conditions are not clarified properly neither is cancellation fees....beware
- Miles (10/5): Exceptional -

- Tony (7/5): Good -
- Alistair (9/5): Awesome place to stay - Very nice home on the dam.
- Manivasan (8/5): Very good - View, peace & tranquility Dining area / kitchen was severely understaffed.
Waited extremely long while for food (lunch & supper). Order was even incomplete.
- Zaid (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Danie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lara (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jason (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location with stunning views. We were lucky to have a self-catering chalet facing the water. Facilities were clean and comfortable with fantastic outdoor and indoor facilities. The restaurant food was good and catered for all needs and good facilities for children although the pool was a bit cold.
The nature reserve is adequately equipped with fun water activities. There are wild horses, we saw wild baboons roaming when driving to down the entry road as well as buck.there are multiple bird specoes and definitely and anglers paradise on the lake. It was not that we did not like it but the entry road is about 20km of dirt road so be careful, especially if driving a rental car. We did love the sign posts though, you will understand when you visit.
- Wandile (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ramnarayan (3/5): Poor - The view of the dam and the spa . The gravel road was a terrible experience of 21km .The room I was allocated (w19) had cracks on the walls, and carpets in the room had stains that had a bad smell. It was evident that the room needed a deep clean or a revamp .I had asked to be moved to another room, and Sean was helpful . The second night it rain heavy, the roof started leaking, we had called reception to inform them, they came the next day in the afternoon to check on it.. I had booked 3 nights with breakfast included, the biggest mistake. The menu at the restaurant is very limited ,the only positive was the view of the dam and the spa treatment.
- Desai (8/5): Very good - Dam The gravel road to qwantani
- Bryan (7/5): Good -
- Bhavna (7/5): Qwantani my favourite place. - The tranquility and the serene views of the dam. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. I loved the spa treatments. I have been coming to Qwantani for the past five years. Our unit WB 02 did not have a blind in the kitchen. This unit also needs to be fumigated and deep cleaned. The beds in the two smaller rooms were very uncomfortable. With that being said, we will still return as we love the peace and beauty of the sterkfontein dam.
- Gorlei (9/5): Superb - Fabulous resort that ticked all the boxes to provide activities .space and relaxation for a large family group . Thank you to the staff who placed us in nearby chalets. Some chairs could have been provided by the harbour gazebos - we had elderly in our group and luckily we had a couple of camp chairs with us.
