The other guests agreed a hot plate would have been much better than ceramic clinking pots with lids that everyone kept banging throughout breakfast . Other than that it was as brilliant. The staff were so friendly from check-in to cleaners to vet staff and waiters . One waitress was a bit dizzy and left a tray on our table whilst we were getting an update on our coffee and didn’t clean the table next to us very well . I am a caterer and have high waitressing standards but she did do her job with a smile on a Saturday morning .
- Graham (6/5): - Common areas are lovely, rooms are great apart from the temperature. We had the fan going all night and the room got no colder. It was 27° in the room. We had to resort to opening the door, which was quite loud being on the City airport flight path

- Genevieve (10/5): - The Sunborn was not only value for money with the breakfast being included in the price but the venue was really beautiful. The view from the restaurant was spectacular as we watched the sun set over the city scape which then turned into the night time lights. The manager treated us so well and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The roast dinner was delicious and they treated us to special anniversary chocolates. The venue is near the cable car which is then ten minutes from the O2 where we went shopping quickly in the morning before checkout! All in all a fantastic experience.
- Nicky (10/5): - From start to finish the experience at the Sunborn was nothing but sublime. A stunning yacht, gorgeous room with all the stylish interior. It was a celebration for my partners 50th, so paid for the Birthday package where he walked into Balloons everywhere, including big 50th Balloons, plus champers and very tasty chocolate cake. Food on board was top class and service second to none. Naturally it’s on the pricier side, but had saved up so that we could just enjoy it for what it was. Overall a gorgeous memory made!

The main bar had been given over to a private party, the upstairs bar felt like a cross channel ferry’s “posh” lounge, and a bit saga holiday. Good location and convenient for transport to London.

- Anne (8/5): Great idea if looking for something different - A completely different hotel to what we normally book. Very impressive from the outside and very well appointed. We had a 2 night stay with dinner on the second evening which was very pleasant. Very conveniently placed with easy access to the transport routes. Only comments to add was the slow booking in process which resulted in a cue and also that the Wi-Fi dropped out occasionally.

- Lee (6/5): Not the best - Smelly toilet, which housekeeping sorted that evening, however the smell returned. We think the shower was blocked as water drained away really slowly. If you’re not eating breakfast in the nice side of the restaurant, it’s like being in a School canteen, breakfast was mostly cold also!

- Simon (8/5): - A very different type of hotel. Very comfortable and roomy. We had a great stay and staff were very friendly and helpful. Sitting on deck in the sun was lovely. One small criticism would be when we wanted a night cap at around 11.30pm after a night out. They would only sell a bottle of wine ( around £36 +) or bottles of beer. It was disappointing that we couldn’t get spirits or smaller quantities of wine! Apart from that we would thoroughly recommend The Sunbourn.

The food was absolutely amazing, and the service was brilliant—every member of staff made us feel truly cared for. We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary, and the hotel went above and beyond to make it unforgettable. Walking into our room, we were surprised with a heart-shaped balloon, a sweet postcard, and delicious chocolates. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made us feel so special. The entire experience is one I will never forget, and I cannot recommend the Sunborn Hotel highly enough. If you want a magical stay in London, this is the place to be!

- Graham (10/5): Overnight London stay - An amazing place to stay, conveniently located to DLR and Elizabeth Line. Helpful and friendly staff and comfortable room. Coffee machine in room and nice sized breakfast room. Table service in bar and excellent outside area at rear of boat if it’s warm enough outside with view of Canart Wharf. Excellent stay and will definitely stay there again.

- Kal (6/5): - The Hotel was ok rooms are dated, there was no air conditioning which made the stay uncomfortable. Staff in the bar were great and so was room service. However the only bad thing I would say is at reception there was a white lady dark hair, on the 13th August 2025 who never smiled and always looked down at customers. I think she needs further training or needs to find another job as hospitality isn’t her thing. The lovely big black lady on reception I’m sorry I forget her name was amazing always polite and happy. A real gem for the hotel. The fridge in the room was not cold. But was o lovely stay location was great. Amenities were all close by.

The staff appreciated my wife's mobility issues, They arranged parking, an accessible room and were very helpful. The room was superb , much larger than the norm and beautifully appointed. A large Queen size comfortable bed.

- rachel (8/5): looks stunning from outside - Breakfast was good, need to put tea and coffee somewhere else area was too small, bed wasn't that comfy, nice surprise for my husband from outside cuz he was staying on the Yacht but once inside the only wow thing was the stair case rooms where standard just like a normal hotel bit pricey for what it was but expect pricey cuz in london lol, nice area close to restaurants, tube, cable cars and excel centre

- Andrea (10/5): Fabulous overnight visit - Spent one night here in August in a riverside room. The ship is lovely, titanic vibes. Our room was huge and had a balcony which was a nice surprise. The staff were friendly and polite. Great location for Excel. Breakfast was good too.

It is not a patch on its sister in Gibraltar Breakfast is a total bun fight with the whole ship expected to queue for their food situated on a small serving area with staff trying to get thru them to the kitchen and people trying to eat their food with people stood next ton them queuing. I LOVED THE CHANDELIER AND RECEPTION STEPS!!

- keven (8/5): Interesting hotel fir a special occasion - First visit. Generally very good. Didn’t know about the lift to get to reception as wife suffers from claustrophobia. But staff helped her get stairs. Excellent quality dinner in lands end restaurant We got a free upgrade to the wheelhouse suite. Spectacular I would here again though it is pricey.

- Geoff (10/5): - We were upgraded by a very nice gentleman to a junior suite, our original booked room had problems with the air conditioning being too hot. The dinner was superb with tender beef and the breakfast also very good. The only problem we encountered was my partner had lost his expensive sunglasses. We returned to reception after checking out and they allowed us to look back in the 2nd room, no luck and no one had handed them in. After looking at the photos we took the previous night, we realised they must have been left in our original room 1030. The lady on reception would not let us go back in to look, she said the room had already been cleaned and occupied. We left disappointed, and then my partner went back to look, it was my birthday yesterday and this had ruined our experience. She managed to ask the cleaner, who could not speak English but luckily an extremely lovely chap walked past called Soefam Da Silva in maintenance, he said he had seen the sunglasses on a table in the room. The head cleaner came along, she still would not give admittance until reception approved. So my partner had to return for the 4th time to reception and luckily the original receptionist was on her break, and a nicer chap phoned the cleaners who then went in the room and returned with the sunglasses. So very annoying the original receptionist did not bother to see things through and check with the cleaners for our access. If it was not for the maintenance chap, we would have lost them.

- Timothy (10/5): - Had a quick one night stay. Chose this hotel due to its location near the O2 and the London City Airport. Final decision to choose this hotel was its uniqueness. Happy with the choice as it was clean, spacious and all staff I interacted with were polite and knowledgeable. Would stay again should the opportunity arise.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful stay at the Sunborn - Fantastic experience. Loved the quirkiness of being on a yacht. Great location and close to restaurants and Custom House tube stop. Room was so spacious and comfortable with tea and coffee. Breakfast choice was great and wonderful to take our coffees and sit outside. The decor was perfect and enhanced the experience. Staff were very friendly. Looking forward to being there again some day.
- Kay (10/5): - Can honestly say we really enjoyed our stay. We had an executive room river view and it was fab. Lovely big room comfy bed, tea/coffee, balcony where we sat with a cuppa overlooking the water. The staff were really friendly, breakfast was superb with a fantastic choice. Bar prices as expected in London nothing over the top. All in all we loved it and would recommend.
