Guest Reviews
- Mauro (8/5): Last days - Paid for double bed got single bed, location was good close to the airport
- Tyler (6/5): - Very reasonably priced near the airport. Really hard bed and only two flat pillows. Good enough for a room near the airport and didn’t hear planes.
- Valerie (8/5): Great place to stay near BKK airport. - Our stay at Avion was very enjoyable. They made us a lovely breakfast. The bathroom was very clean and modern, the shower had wonderful water pressure and nice warm temperature. The bed is very firm. We enjoyed swimming in the pool. The hotel was very accommodating when we asked for an extra days stay. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance.
- MICHEL (8/5): Nice place - Just for 1 nigth before leaving Bangkok at the airport.
Sad to not have stay longer.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was infested with moquitoes. Smell of urine. Shower room water accumulates and does not drain properly. The small pillows smell bad and saliva stains left by the previous guest still visible. Housekeeping staff opens the room door in the morning without knocking, we were not even dressed at that time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location near the airport. Variety of eating choices available. Been there twice abd will stay again.
- Jason (6/5): Helpful staff but dirty hotel. - The hotel does not have a spa (although it was mentioned in the Hotel.com site when the booking was made). And it seems to be really under maintained. One of the pillow cases (of the two) had dirts and stains (from not washing or changing). I did not bother informing the reception. TV channels were really limited and most seems to be for the Chinese speaking guests. Old soap plastic packing were still left in the bathroom. Not sufficient shampoo and a terrible quality.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Really positive point. When I needed to print three pages of document, the reception staff were very helpful.
- cr (10/5): info - stayed there many times, close to airport, plenty to do at night, stay local, or catch sky train to city, dont forget, closes at midnight, if not get taxi, make sure meter is running
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice and quiet - Not far from the airport.like the restaurant around their.
- Juha (8/5): - Gym was small, but good
- Frank (4/5): - I checked in early in the morning and was told i should pay an extra 1000baht or else i come after few hours. After paying no receipt was given nor confirmation. Next morning am being told by a different staff i need to pay for early check in.The hotel is near most of the amenities overal the breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful.
- David (10/5): - Lovely place near a buzzing street full of locals not tourists, would def stay again.
Apple maps ( used by Expedia) has hotel location one street wrong. Google maps has it right 👍
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel close to the Airport - Short taxi ride to this spacious hotel. Ideal for travellers on shot visit to Thailand.
- Cris (2/5): Very bad experience - The room was very dirty. It’s just not acceptable!
- regulartraveler (2/5): Inflexible, unhelpful, rude, disgraceful - Was pushed out of the way at reception by one of their staff/tour guides who then stood directly in front of me as I was attempting to leave.Had requested a slightly early check in by email in advance as I was there for a few hours between connecting flights and checking out the same day. On arrival was told to sit while they checked with manager and wait for ten minutes. No phone call was made and was then told no by the same person although the place appeared almost empty. They wanted double the room rate again if I was to check in early. Wandered the streets until 2pm, then checked out at 8 to be physically pushed whilst doing so. Disgraceful experience, very disappointing
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not bad but there is always terrible noise next to the room in the morning disturbing me
- Rog (10/5): Another great Hotel away from traffic and noise. - This hotel is close to the airport for easy arrival and departures with a short taxi ride, like 10 minutes at most. Although 15-20 miles from downtown Bangkok, that is easily reachable suing the Skytrain and MRT subway, very inexpensive. Both the Skytrain and subway were air-conditioned which made for a comfortable ride. Who needs a taxi when you have this? Traffic, at times, can be quite congested going into town, so avoid the freeway and join the locals.
- Sheila (10/5): Convenient for early morning flights - Great hotel for early morning departures from Bangkok. Fabulous value for the price. Rooms are spacious, grout in the shower could use a good scrub. Beds are very firm, but comfy. Would absolutely stay again. Good eating in walking distance too.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good for a stop off - Neat little hotel but nothing special. Very good if stoping over in Bangkok. Opposite an open restaurant tucked away at the back of a road too which serves probably some of the best food I have every had.
- Dee (8/5): Convenient, nice room - Reception girls seemed very casual and relaxed but the room was very nice and spacious. I would recommend for an overnight stay if catching connecting flights.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The hotel is very dated and poorly maintained, value for money I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
- bob (6/5): just OK for a quick overnight - this hotel is supposed to be 4-star, but it is nowhere near that
- Verified traveler (2/5): This hotel not recommend!!!! - The picture in website and hotel now look same. The hotel very not clean never ever go again!!!
- Preben (4/5): Rating of Expedia was not correct - This hotel should be a 4 star hotel according to Expedia.com, but was max. a very small 3 star. they had restaurant, but this was not open. No English speaking staff. Very much noise. Was dirty and not nice in the hall ways.
Very disapointed about Expedia in this case, as their rating was not OK
- Verified traveler (4/5): - no hot water, terrible wifi signal, and limited breakfast buffett. Bed was horribly uncomfortable
- SIMON (8/5): Hotel near airport ! - Picked this Hotel as I wanted to be near the airport for a late night flight . Great location with plenty of eating places .
- Ashley (10/5): Good stopover hotel. - Stayed in the action apart hotel for one night as a stopover from Bangkok airport.
Great budget hotel. Very clean rooms and staff very friendly. Surrounding area a little tired but for the price of the room it was fine! Cannot complain.
- Beverley (6/5): Convenient overnight stay close to airport - Mine was a last minute booking - two or three nights prior to arrival.
Taxi driver at airport grumbled about the distance (too close) and wanted to charge me a flat rate of 300 baht - but I insisted on the meter which was less than half that amount. Staff at reception didn't have/couldn't find my booking - no key in envelope prepared like others sitting on the desk - so apologised, advised there wasn't a 'room' for me and upgraded me to a suite. As I was on my own and only staying one night it was probably unnecessary to have a suite - but essential I had a bed so I was grateful that he was so prompt in arranging for me.
The room was clean, sparsely furnished and although it had a kitchenette - this had very little I was able to use had that been my intention. I didn't try the breakfast (extra $) as there was a large tour group who I imagined would have filled the breakfast room. Not really a 4 star but would recommend for someone just staying overnight for a plane transfer as the airport is only 5-10 minutes away.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Smoky room - Hotel room smelled of old
smoke, otherwise was spacious and clean. Bed was moderately comfortable and tv had many channels with more than average English language channels . Location is very close to airport.
- Madhavan (6/5): Avion Apart - Hotel near at airport but far from city, estimated one hour travelling from city
Not a 4star hotel, staffs are friendly,Safe and stay for family
Near to airport, good for business peoples
Rooms are clean and facilities good but dont expect soomuch
- Jennifer (6/5): Fine for a layover. - This hotel was fine for a night in between flights. However, there was no airport shuttle even though it is advertised on their website and on hotels.com. The cab to and from the airport was a few dollars so not a huge deal, just disappointing.
- The Steele's (4/5): Not 4 star. 2/3 max. - Check in staff not very good English. One was doing her face when at desk. Room was wrong, had to pay for another. Smelt of smoke. Mainly Chinese there, very noisy at night and in the morning. Very basic, needs an overhaul. Close to airport, that's it. Not much to do in the evening. Would recommed to stay in another.
- Sharalee (8/5): Awesome hotel and amazing staff - We enjoyed our one night at the Avion. It is located very close to the airport, only 5-10 min drive away. The hotel staff are amazing. They were very friendly and helpful. They assisted us with shopping information, called a taxi for us & stored our luggage for the day. When we checked into our room we found that it was a smoking room. One quick call to the front desk and they moved us to a non smoking room with out any trouble. I would definitely stay at the Avion again.
- Anders (4/5): low standard. highly priced - If the hotel was in east germany in 1981, maybe the overall rating would be accurate
- AMP (2/5): Unless you need to be close to BKK don't stay here - The hotel room was full of bugs. Tiny crawling bugs that got into everything, our beds, our packaged food, our clothes, our toothpaste, even inside the laptops!
We paid about $100 US for a small room for four of us, that was supposed to have two double beds, but they had only one king bed and two roll away beds we used for our 10 & 11 year olds. At first they said they would charge an additional 900 baht for the second rollaway bed. And both rollaway beds hardly left any room to walk around in the tiny room.
We had only two towels and had to go down and ask for more, and not enough shampoo or soap either. The shower room was huge, with a nice shower head but it didn't drain fast enough! We had to wait half an hour between each of us showering to get the water to drain!
We had asked in the evening for the hotel to call for a taxi van to the airport for us at 5am the next day. They said that they would but when we came down at 4:55, they hadn't called and said it was too early in the morning to be able to call and we would have to just get two smaller taxis. The only god thing about the hotel was that it was close to BKK. Never staying there again. The bugs were still all over our stuff after we'd checked out
- Verified traveler (6/5): Convenient to Airport - Hotel is ok, nothing special. No room service but the staff is nice and helpful and will bring you ice if you ask. Breakfast is not the best but serviceable. Dinner is a buffet and the nearby restaurants are very loud (live music with arena size speakers) but have really good food. Room is a bit shopworn but clean and spacious enough. Best part about the hotel is that it is quiet and within 10 minutes of the airport. Bangkok traffic is a nightmare and unless you can take the airport rail link from your hotel to the airport it can take literally hours of driving to make the trip. From this hotel it's a breeze.
- Anne (8/5): Clean and quiet hotel close to airport - Needed a place close to airport in order to arrive and adjust for 2 days. The Avion was perfect for this.
- Josh (2/5): I can't think of any reason to stay here - I booked this for just one night in between flights. I had been flying for 20+ hours and was exhausted. I didn't need anything fancy, just a clean and comfortable place to sleep. I arrived around midnight and checked in. My room smelled like moldy cigars, it was awful. The music from the club down the street was audible even with the A/C on and the windows closed. When the club music wound down around 2:30 I finally got to sleep...only to be woken up at 5:00 AM by a bus load of tourists arriving and shouting at one another for the next 90 minutes outside the hotel, in the lobby of the hotel, and on their way to their rooms in the hotel. So unfortunately, the sleep I desperately need was the one thing I couldn't get at this hotel.
- Adrian (6/5): Clean, functional. Value for money! - For the price, stay was worth it for a stopover near the airport. Rooms are clean, the hotel's compound overall was generally pleasing and looks to be relatively new (perhaps less than 5 years old). Hotel was a short walk from a variety of bars and pubs in Lad Krabang, and was a 10 min ride to Suvarnabhumi Airport on the 10 Baht bus. Only gripe is that the hotel is chalet style with a few blocks (maximum of 3-4 stories per block), and guests are susceptible to mosquitoes which are plenty in the area. Just close your windows and doors!
- Amy (8/5): Stay was okay - We were under the impression that they had a free shuttle to and from the airport but they don't.
- Adrian (6/5): Basic Hotel Close To Airport - Nothing outstanding. Functional. AC left a lot to be desired though.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Fine with kids also - Hotel is decent for short stay. Its close to airport (and Ikea!) works out with kids too since they have babycots and swimming pool. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- gosia (6/5): Ok hotel close to the airport - Decent hotel for an overnight stay when you have a connecting flight following day. I asked for a puch up service from the airport not knowing it is 4 times more pricey and surprisingly it also took 4 times longer to get to the hotel than to go back to the siport. Weird.
The restaurant in the hotel has a very limited choice of food. I had both a dinner and a breakfast.
The staff at the front desk was helpful and friendly (Russell).
- Hollie (8/5): Great airport stop hotel - We stayed in this hotel at the beginning of October 2014, and found it to be a pleasant stop for one night before heading to the airport the next day.
The hotel staff were incredibly friendly, in particular the man from reception who greeted us in the evening and the woman who works in the restaurant at breakfast time. While not all the staff speak English, the hotel does seems to ensure that there is an English speaking member of staff on reception at all times. However, all staff were very friendly and we had no problems.
The breakfast, while not over the top, was completely acceptable and served everything you could have wanted. As I mentioned, the woman who was working in the restaurant at the time (11th October) couldn't have been more helpful or friendly - an excellent member of staff.
I would recommend this hotel for a short stay as you pass through, either from the airport or to it. We had absolutely no complaints with the hotel, breakfast or staff.
- f (10/5): Amazing friendly staff - Travelled with twin babies and had transit thru bangkok. Staff were amazing...picked us up from airport, helped us with baggage. Room set up with baby cribs at no extra price. Very clean and organised. Amazing price, amazing hotel!
- Verified traveler (6/5): For just stay - This hotel was quietly.
Can sleep well.
Location is good,I can take a taxi n can go anywhere to downtown
- Hugues (6/5): - Facilities: Bare minimum; Value: Great deal; Service: Basic; Cleanliness: Poor;
Only interesting if you have an early flight , only access by taxi from Bangkok , difficult to find
- Robert (8/5): 7 min taxi ride from the airport. 120 baht - Great front desk staff. We got there at 0930pm, and we were checking out at 0600 the next morning , for an early flight. The front desk staff asked if we needed a wake up call for the morning, and he even arranged a taxi for us to be ready in the morning. The food shops around the hotel had closed, which was now 10pm. The guy at the front desk arranged to order us a pizza, which was lovely of him.
- Robert (10/5): -
- Adrian (8/5): - Facilities: Typical; Value: Moderate, Fair price; Service: Polite; Cleanliness: Faultless;
