• Nally (8/5): - La ubicación es muy buena y está bien si eres mochilero. La habitación tiene cosas y áreas ya demasiado desgastadas, la falta de mantenimiento es muy grande

• NOE (6/5): - El personal fue muy amable, me brindaron información de cómo trasladarme a San Pedro Pochutla, que transporte tomar, costos, etc. El único detalle es que literalmente te comienzan atender para el check in cuando se cumplen literalmente las 3pm. Ni un minuto antes!!

• Craig (6/5): - We had a day and a half to spend in the area before flying out. The hotel was average. It was clean and had hot water. The pool is clean and refreshing and positioned to be half shaded. Staff are friendly and communication was good despite my poor spanish. We were able to get a late checkout for a half day rate, which was appreciated. None of the wifi worked during our stay, no matter how many logins they supplied. Good value for short stay and a good location if you want to stay in the town vs at beach.

• David (6/5): - This is a two, maybe three star property that has seen better days. But... it is near La Crucecita, across from a nice park, with a coffee shop and the price is very reasonable. Just don't expect perks. The rooms have lots of dents and scratches and while everything works, there are only a few outlets, a red flag in an era when everyone needs to charge phones, tablets and more. WiFi coverage in the rooms varies between sparse and non existent. On the positive side, there was always plenty of hot water and pretty good pressure in the shower. A note to Expedia travelers... I've used this property twice in the last two weeks. I pre paid once and was told I did not have a reservation. But we got it fixed. The second time I was set to pay at the hotel. When I arrived, they tried to overcharge me until one of the employees stepped in and said they had to respect the Expedia price. So just make sure you have documentation of your reservation and rate. Would I stay here again knowing what I know? When I need a bargain, of course. BTW... it is NOT disability friendly.
• David (6/5): - The property is older. That's fine. We had a clean room, hot water and a good location just two blocks from La Crucecita. But in this day and age, WiFi is a must. This hotel has great WiFi... in the lobby. But in the rooms? Literally nothing. I saw people walking the halls with their computers or IPads trying to find service. In today's age, where people use the web for everything from streaming movies to WhatsApp, connectivity is a must. Bottom line, if web access is not a deal breaker for you, AM Amakal is great. It's clean, affordable and has lots of hot water. Just know you can't write a review on their WiFi from your room.

A la recepcionista le comente lo que estaba pasando y le solicite cancelar la reservacion, pero no fue posible. Comente de alguna cortesia para otra ocacion y nunca recibi su respuesta. Solo me bañe y me retire una hora mas tarde.
• Luis Alfonso (4/5): mal el mantenimiento de las habitaciones - habia fuga de agua en el baño, lo reporte pero lo único que hicieron fue limpiar. entonces todo el tiempo estaba mojado el piso del baño y cada vez que se entraba pues se mojaba los pies y al caminar por la habitación se mojaba todo el piso. ademas estaban reparando algo y los trabajadores estaban haciendo mucho ruido desde temprano

Las habitaciones son razonablemente confortables, aunque con deficiencias en el aire acondicionado; no obstante, el precio es económico. Muy adecuado para estancias de vacaciones o de negocios cuando se requiere poca permanencia en el sitio
• Alejandro (4/5): Muy austero - La habitación cuenta con 2 almohadas, muy grandes con las cuales no se disfruta el sueño, al pedir unas más pequeñas argumentan que no tienen de otro tamaño, el agua caliente no es constante, no dan colchas para cubrirse del frio del clima, hubo un dia que no habia agua. El personal es muy amable, la calidad de servicio es impecable, desgraciadamente se ve opacada con las instalaciones. Estoy consciente que es un hotel barato pero si tiene muchas carencias

I had never heard of this situation before. The ladies at the front desk are kind of rude and always on their cellphones. They find Facebook more interesting than attending their customers.
• Zbyszek (10/5): My two weeks stay in hotel Amakal - During my two weeks stay I enjoy five star service for 3-star price. Hotel staff is helpful, professional and honest. Hotel location is comfortably close to city center and just few minutes by bus ( 25 US cents/ 4 pesos ) to beautiful and secure beach at Santa Cruz. I enjoy there perfect weather, beauty, and tranquility of the beach, and swimming in warm crystal clear water of Pacific Ocean.

• Liz (2/5): Location is ok. Facilities not so much! - Half the staff are very friendly the other half couldn't care less. Our tips reflected that. The one girl who cleaned our room was great but she either wasn't trained or wasn't given the time to clean properly. There was some liquid thrown on the wall-who knows how long it has been there. The bathroom shower floor and ceiling where covered in mold. One had to ask for hot water for the shower to only get warm. That's fine if you know but what if you don't. We knew going into the vacation the hotel would be basic which is fine as we are always out but cleanliness is important!

AC worked well and it was nice to have a flatscreen tv with some English programs. It is walking distance in to town which is a must for us. Staff was friendly even though we do not speak Spanish. Taxis were always available & inexpensive if you want to go to the various beaches. Only negative was that the hot water was unreliable but we have had that problem in several hotels throughout Mexico. Overall good value for the price.
• Jenny (8/5): Great cheap stay in Huatulco. - We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Amakal. We got a great deal and had all the basic necessities. Huge comfortable bed, clean room, strong shower with hot water, and an excellent air conditioner to cool off to after a long day. The location is perfect. Just a 5 minute walk to the center and right near am Oxxo.
