Verified traveler (8/5): Très agréable petit hôtel près de playa Carillo - Nous avions une grande chambre avec vue sur la mer. Une petite terrasse avec hamac, chaises et table. L'accueil y est très chaleureux. L'hôtel est situé tout près de la playa Carillo et à 7 km de Samara. Séjour très agréable!

Roxanne (8/5): Welcoming and beautiful place - We only stayed two nights, but we loved it. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the playa Carillo is absolutely beautiful. The food is really good. There is sunset yoga, I did not know and I wish I would have !
Suzy (10/5): Nice B&B in Playa Carrillo with wonderful terrace! - Lautaro runs a great little hotel. It's simple, clean and comfortable. Breakfast (fresh fruit, eggs or pancakes, toast, tea, coffee, juice) is served each morning on their covered terrace with an awesome view of Playa Carrillo and the river valley below. A nice breeze keeps things comfortable. Wonderful wildlife sightings include iguanas, raccoons, howler monkeys, hummingbirds, and lots of other birds. Dinner is offered with a menu of yummy pasta, empanadas, and a special in case you don't feel like going out. They will help you with activity planning/reservations too.
TOROLF (4/5): Acceptable but needs improvement - While we were treated very well by the staff and the hotel has a fantastic view, we do not feel that the overall current state of this place meets the (room rate based) expectations. We are aware that there are some renovations planned and already ongoing, so it is possible that this might become s great place to stay in the future. The room was clean but very basic, we had no hot water, bathroom and furniture definitely getting old, no privacy on the terrace. The beautiful outside garden area with an amazing view does not seem to be taken care of much, not even a chair to sit on). The breakfast was not more than ok, basic Costa Rican. As in many places in Costa Rica, also in this B&B you will find that the dinner prices seem high, but in all fairness we did not try dinner (reason being that we were not at all overwhelmed by the breakfast) so it is possible that the food is fantastic. Having said all above, we hope that the owners have the dedication to turn things around here, since they do have a place with potential.
fausto (10/5): Muy agradable para una estancia tranquila - El lugar es muy lindo y agradable , si bien no cuenta con todas las comodidades de un hotel super , la calidez de su gente hace que uno se sienta como en su casa . El precio calidad es muy aconsejable , esta muy cerca de la playa y lejos del ruido del centro urbano . El desayuno es muy rico y generoso .
mr (10/5): really nice & very quaint - bellissimo b&b, tranquillo, in mezzo alla natura e al silenzio. Bella veranda vista mare, con poltrone per relax e tavoli per il breakfast. camere adeguate, pulite, a/c, possibilità di lavanderia. Il gestore, Lautano, è un simpatico argentino, disponibile ma non invadente.
Toni (6/5): Great beach near bed/breakfast - Nice view of the ocean and a short walk to the beaches. The bed/breakfast itself could use some updating and repair. Overall it was fine because of the beach availability. Carrillo beach was wonderful! If you like a quiet beach, then this is the one.

couple (10/5): Beautiful location - We have traveled and stayed in many places throughout Costa Rica as well as Latin America and Europe; for the price, this place exceeded our expectations and we would definitely come back. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful location. We stayed in room one that had an Oceanview and would highly recommend it. Playa Carillo was a five minute walk or two minute drive; it was an amazing beach and they gave us hammocks to take to the beach, which was great!

Rooms are basic, except for sea view rooms that have private balconies with rocking chairs and hammock. Friendly youthful staff, good eggs breakfast, peaceful setting. Very good value

El propietario y las jóvenes que le auxilian nos hicieron sentir en casa: excelente trato, sonrisa a flor de piel, vocación de servicio, etc. El lugar hermosamente sencillo y acogedor; y los detalles con que adornaron con delicadeza y buen gusto nuestra habitación nos hacen saber que no tenemos que buscar otro lugar cuando regresemos a Carrillo... ¡La Posada será nuestra opción!
Lorena (10/5): Excelente ubicacion y servicio. - El hotel es precioso y esta ubicado en un lugar estratégico a muy pocos metros de Playa Carrillo y con una vista espectacular. No olviden sentarse en las hamacas y observar las estrellas por las noches.
