- Elaine (2/5): Very bad - I booked before arriving at the hotel. When I got there, they told me my booking hasn't come through but the money credited into my account, till today I have not receive my money back, I had to pay again at the hotel because it was already late,
- Celia (4/5): Very poor - The reception was of no help in checking our booking. Ignored us and it was xtremely frustrating yet the booking was Co firmed but she didn't check with the lodge of our names are in the list rather said she can't help if she dotn get an email from hotel. Com. No towels was given at the lodge. When I got to. The lodge to Chek my booking the male guy didn't even ask for my name saying he can't help etc until about 10.minute later he asked what's your name then said there's your name on the list. Breakfast was a disaster. The tea came after the food and you don't have a choice in the breakfast it what they give you. Spicy chilli sausages is not everyones delight. The staff and professional lacked I wouldn't go bacs k to stay there
- Sahana (10/5): Room for improvement - The stay was really pleasant. But a few things the hotel can work on such as the aircorn in the room not working. The wifi only works if you are at reception not in the room as advertised, and the tv only plays 4 channels 1 2 e and Supersport.
- Bharathi (4/5): Unsatisfactory - The room allocate had an odour . We asked to be moved. The Wifi was not accessible i n the room . The breakfast area was lacked any ambiance. Sugar was served in a disposable cup. The room had 1 teabag and no teaspoons.

- Lindile (2/5): I appeal to hotels.com to refund me - Island hotel management is not honest when I was offered something totally different from what is advertised for customer attraction. Secondly I booked 2 x rooms with a double bed, guess what! I was offered 2 x single beds in each room with dirty linens and bad smell. As a result I spent one night instead of two. In other words I was robbed my pleasure. Island hotel doesn't meet the standards that is appearing to be. This is discrediting hotels.com which is doing a marketing business for this hotel. I ask myself how many people that passes through this experience day by day. Hotels.com must act now to condemn this because it is tarnishing the name of hotels.com. this is not good for a hospitality business.
- Mamokgethi (4/5): This aint a hotel but a hostel - This hotel is basic and the service at breakfast is disastrous. If you treat it like a hostel that doesn't serve any meals then you will be fine. We had to wait for more than an hour for breakfast. The sad thing is that they have no respect for people, so they dont even tell you what is going on so that you can understand. They just continue as if everything is normal. Completely unacceptable!

- Simba (8/5): Simba Mhonde’ Stay at Island Hotel - I had an awesome experience at the hotel, friendly staff, secure, neat bedding and toilet. They need to improve on WiFi connectivity to extend to the rooms. I do not hesitate to recommend other prospective guests .
- Dessie (2/5): NO NO FOR ISLAND HOTEL - a definite No No. would actually like a refund. extremely unpleasant stay...noise levels extremely high from 5am. cleanliness poor
- Verified traveler (6/5): average - The hotel could not find our booking. Even though it was already paid for and we were told we're lucky they have one room left. The bed was to twin beds put together to make one which kept separating. The room had a tv and aircon but no remotes. Only two small towels were provided no hand towels. The shower had such a small shower head. The room was clean and safe as we forgot our key outside the room the whole night. The food was amazing. If your looking for indian food in that area its the best we went back for lunch as well.
