Our room has tri view of the mountains, as well as the elk walking through the mot - The room we stayed in had just been renovated and they had done a very good job on the details Because the renovation not all of the adjustments were fine tuned. For example, the bathroom sink had very hot water. However, the shower had to be readjusted so that the hot water was hot. The complementary breakfast was not very well taken care of by the workers. For example, Friday’s breakfast was mostly gone by 8 o’clock in the morning Thursdays breakfast was bountiful. Wednesdays, breakfast, because of heavy snowfall, but nobody was there to have breakfast at the starting time.

My ir csn sleep through a lot but this was just horrible.. I complained about it after our first nivht and they looked at it but it still woke us both up at least 15 times each night we were there.

- Wiskow (9/5): Nice clean rooms recently remodeled, Quiet and nested in the mountains. - This motel was recently renovated and so the rooms were very nice. We were on the road for a week, and this motel was the most comfortable and I got the best sleep here. It was very quiet at night. There is a small pond with a couple of ducks and a goose. It was very relaxing to watch them, and my dog was fascinated with them as well. There are several places within walking distance from our room. A microwave, mini-frig and coffee maker is also available. 2 chairs and a small table. (many places have only 1 chair) My only problem was I just couldn't figure out the remote for the TV, Minor inconvenience. user friendly TV remote. Not sure if it was the batteries. Regardless the remote probably needs to be reprogrammed as every button was pushed many times.

Very squeaky floorboards, when people in the room above walked around it was super noisy. Try and get a room upstairs instead.

- Cathy_From_Colorado (4/5): Never again - We checked in a day before our reservation and got a great room they assured us we could stay in for all 3 nights. At 4 pm after our first night we got a call that we had to move out of that room as it was reserved for someone else. Completely screwed up our day. The room we moved into was clean, but crappy. The TV wasn’t connected, the smoke detector and wall mount hair dryer were in the dresser drawers, the drawers weren’t functional and not attached to the rails so it was basically unusable. The AC turned on and off randomly. After 10 years of staying there when we’re in Estes, we won’t be going there again.

- Brian (9/5): - The heavy duty towels & wash rags were amazing! The room was perfectly designed with everything needed for a great stay! The view was amazing, fire pits, hot tub!!! (Unfortunately closed on our trip) Love the furniture and finishes, the price of my stay, and absolutely loved the main house vibes! The mattress is uncomfortable ( Springs were awful) but a deluxe mattress topper would really go a long way for us bad back sleepers!! Hearing my neighbors voices through the walls but again it's a clean nice place and very well priced.

- Pierce (3/5): YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, BUT NEVER AGAIN FOR ME. - Room was filthy, bedding was freshly washed, but all other furniture was disgusting. Carpet should be vacuumed between EACH guest, but is ignored. And ROOM 101 should NEVER be booked. Turn it into a housekeeping/maintenance supply area. DO NOT RENT ROOM 101. Room 101 is directly underneath the main office and breakfast dining room. Your peaceful night sleep ENDS ABRUPTLY as other guests trample in and bang tables and chairs around directly over your head while you are in bed below !!

- MARGUERITE (9/5): I would stay at Discovery Lodge again as well as recommend to family and friends. - Most important to me is cleanliness and it was white glove clean! The morning of check-in I called with modifications to my reservations. The manager gladly accommodated with minimal cost. Breakfast could have been better.
- Paul (10/5): DL a reasonable , enjoyable and perfect alternative to big hotels. Value for money! - Value for money. We love the rustic cabin design, amenities were complete. Even makeup wipes were provided. The room was clean and maintained well. The staff was attentive and accommodating. The pond, fire pit were a plus. Breakfast consisted of uncrustables, blueberry muffin, boiled egg, yogurt, fruit, instant oatmeal, toast, coffee, juice which satisfied our needs. Nothing!
- Lacy (6/5): Affordable and scenic but you get what you pay for. - Location, walking distance to main street. Room size was nice. We love being able to take our dog with us and Discovery Lodge allows all dogs! The doors are sliding glass with a "real" key that does not state "do not duplicate.: I asked for a security bar and they hand delivered it. I felt way safer after that. We ran out of shampoo/body wash before our 2 day stay was out, it is one that has to be refilled. It was REALLY cold, in the teens so we were excited for the hot tub. It never got over 98 degrees and went all the way down to 95 degrees. It was also quite cloudy and only fit about 6 people.

- gayle (7/5): Stressful to say the least. They need to brush up on their customer service - I liked being on the lower level with picinic table access and grilling right by our door. The room was nice, clean and roomy. Seeing the Elk was awesome. We were having issues with payment. We were charged 3 times on our credit card and we stayed only 2 nights. We didn't find this out until we got home. The bill that was emailed to me did not match to what was charged on our account.We were overcharged and no one, not even the manager will take the extra time to call us or even rectify this issue. We have called at least 4 times and spoke to a couple of front desk help and no one seemed to understand how to help us figure this out. For the help or the manger to call us back is like pulling teeth. Each time we would call, we would have to explain this ordeal all over again. I will have to dispute this overcharge since no one seems to know what is going on over there.

- Lucinda (9/5): It was beautiful! - The pond was beautiful, with several elk and their young grazing and resting in that area. It was fascinating to watch them. The soap container in the shower is both shampoo and body soap in one. The soap container next to the sink was empty, so we bought our soap and shampoo at Dollar Tree.
- Martin (7/5): Great view from well maintained room, expected larger living space for price paid. - Location, view, cleanliness, was allowed to bring pet. Room was small for price, had a pleasant interaction when checking in but a few weeks prior to stay I had travelled to Estes from my home in Ft Collins and asked if I could see an empty, un rented room to get an idea of the value and I was told I could look at pictures online. I did not think my request was unreasonable since I would not be invading anyone’s privacy by seeing an un rented, open room and I was disappointed with the reason given by staff. Was a missed opportunity for staff to go above and beyond with the customer service.
- Peggy (8/5): Newly renovated comfy rooms and convenient to town. - Not much of a view but the golf tee was behind us. The overall grounds were very pretty. The pond, the fire pit with wood provided was great. Used it both nights we were there. Enjoyed the family of Elk that were there also. Definitely need a blower to clean off the walkways and the chairs outside the doors could be updated. We picked up a lot of trash and that isn’t something we’ve seen in Colorado. The continental breakfast was good but they never had enough put out. Had to ask for the basics.

- Michael (6/5): Disappointing for the reasons above - Rooms were clean and warm despite very cold temperatures outside. The description suggests there are two bedrooms and a living room. "This suite features 1 living room, 2 separate bedrooms....". There is no living room. There are just the two bedrooms with a bathroom off the main bedroom. That doesn't meet the definition of a suite. Reception is not manned after 7pm. Our keys were left in an envelope but they forgot to leave the password for the wi-fi for us (so no WIFI was available). Property did not respond to their WhatsApp address after 7pm.

- G2427UBjohnl (8/5): Nice little motor lodge in Estes Park CO - We stayed at Discovery Lodge in early October 2025. The property was well maintained and the rooms were clean and adequate. The lodge, (rustic looking motor lodge) is aging a bit and could use a couple of upgrades, mainly tech- wise ie. USB ports for charging devices and additional outlets. We did have a nice stay, and it is located right next to a golf course where many elk congregate during the rut. Breakfast, located in the office, was very simple and not much to talk about. Very convenient to town, the visitor center and restaurants. Nice stay, especially for the price.

- Fabiola (1/5): Dirty and bad service. - I got to my room and it was dirty. Beds were not made, there was trash all over. I contacted the staff to get a new room and their attitude was awful. Service was awful, room was dirty, beds not made, room full of trash, like somebody spent the night there and the room was not cleaned.
