- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible - It was horrible. They say your booking is confirmed then when u get there is cancelled. We booked a triple bed and ended up getting single with zero space to even breathe. Area you have to pass through to get there is disgusting.

- Richard (6/5): Reception is 11th floor - The problem of going to the 15th floor to find no-one there was resolved this time because of a sign now saying reception is on the 11th floor. Then I went there and was taken to 17th floor in Area A. Why tell people to go to the 15th floor? Just tell them reception is on 11th floor. At least I got a room this time. So small I am glad it was one night. Quiet room, good area but so small.

Place is no good if you want to stay in the room for the whole duration of your holiday, room is very small. I don't recommend people who are claustrophobic. Toilet is small and wet. Staff is not really accommodating.
- Richard (2/5): Locked out, no-one home. - I showed up about 11:05pm. The place was shut, no-one answered the door. I had to find alternate accommodation. I was tired and it was hot. Do I have to pay? I have a non-refundable booking for my return to HK tomorrow. Will they be open? Is 11pm too late to stay open for a business that offers accommodation to travellers?

- Wowie (4/5): - You can trust the owner but the place was scary for the first time but you will be use to it. The family room with 2 double bed was so small it is look nice to the picture but its verry uncomfortable to stay.
- Phijoz (6/5): Small, but quiet room - Location wise, Chungking Mansion is perfect, 30 steps away from MTR TST Exit E, walking distance away from Harbour City to visit Avenue of Stars- It's closed at this moment though; Clock Tower, Star Ferry,enjoy Symphony of Lights in the evening, Space Museum and taking a ferry to Macau is easy. Price of all guests houses here is cheap compare to any other hotels in the area, as expected, people from different nations flocked at this building, elevators more often than not have long line of people, so be patient.
- Mark (6/5): Tidy but convenient - I'm sure this place is like the plethora of other hostel / guesthouses in the Chungking Mansions, small. We stayed 4 nights and really only slept here. For that it served it's purpose. You don't stay here to have a relaxing holiday resting up and relaxing in comfort, you cannot do that in these tiny rooms. Sheets and towels were clean, if a about old. If after somewhere to just rest your head at night at a cheap price, in the centre of all the action on Nathan Rd then this place will fits the bill. You'll have to be patient waiting for lifts and be okay to asked to buy 'butter chicken' from the multiple Indian food sellers on ground floor (don't buy tough, infamously makes people sick, we are advised). One bonus is you have the best currency exchange rates in town (as advised by a friend who is a local) at your door step at the many currency exchange places on the ground floor entrance level.
- verry (2/5): Beware of scam! - I got scammed by this hotel in Hongkong. They said my credit card didn't go through for reservation. so they cancel my booking. So, no more room for us to stay. I went there with family of 12 person. I booked for 3 rooms, for June 13-18, 2018. but they don't have the rooms for us. Instead, I have to pay additional HK$ 600 for 3 rooms in cash, so they can find another hotel room for us. I have no choice, it was heavy rain and already dark outside. So I paid penalty HK$ 600 for cancelled room + rent new room for us HK$ 4711 = total HK$ 5311 IN CASH! Now I back in my office and found out they charged full amount of my booking of 5 nights x 3 rooms. They said my credit card didn't go through, but now they charged my Credit card. More work now for me to dispute for this transaction with my credit card. In Chungking mansion, where the hostel is located, they have group of hostels: Marrigold Hostel, NewLondon Hostel, Kabayan Hostel, Mabuhay Hostel. Beware of this kind of scam!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Hotel staff asked for $500 extra to allow checkin - We two friends had confirmed booking for this hotel. But when we arrived for check-in, the hotel staff refused to let us check in unless we paid an extra $500. They told us to go and find another hotel if we can't pay the extra $500. Our booking was for only $320 and we were asked to pay $500 on top of it or leave!! Can you believe it? Why would I pay in advance and have a confirmed booking if the hotel just doesn't let us checkin when we arrive? It's blatant extortion!! This hotel goes by another name as well - Marigold. We talked to the manager, showed them our confirmed bookings but they refused to let us if we didn't pay the extra amount in caah. Book this hotel at your own peril. And forget about the Hotels.com discounts, hotels like this will force you to pay more anyway when you arrive.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Perfect location! - Great location in the heart of Tsim sha tsui. Jollibee is just across the street. It’s inside the chungking mansion, which is a not so clean, very old building. Helpful staff especially Suki ang Inda. Rooms are very small though, you get what you paid for. You can take the bus to get to the airport right across the street, around 38 Hk Dollars. Shopping stores, malls everywhere.

Got there and ti find out they cancel our bookings an hour before we arrived and saying to book again gonna be expensive. Ysung filipino names to attract customers but they not even filipino. If you dont want to ruin your holiday dont go to this area.
- J (8/5): Comfortable Stay - This was a brilliant choice amongst the many hostels around this area. The staff were very helpful and took our luggage up to the rooms. The beds, towels and toilets were very clean. The location was also brilliant as the MTR was so close. The staff were very nice and gave suggestions for places to eat

- KK (6/5): Near the shopping center and MTR - The hotel address is not clear in expedia and can not contact of the hotel staff for asking by email however the google is the best to search. The staff is good and easy to check in and check out. The room is too narrow and small. If you have 2 big luggages you cannot put on the room floor. The ventilation is not good. It may from the old air conditioner. In my opinion, it is suitable for one person when compare to other hotel rooms in HK. The cleaning is acceptable. If you want them to clean your room you have to inform before you go outside.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Not a hotel - Wotif should have done some investigation before listing this property. It was a room with a bit of paper taped to the door stating the hotel name. It was in a dodgy building, was filthy. Our booking wasn't even listed, thank goodness actually. It was not a hotel but a building with rooms that were individually marks as hotel rooms all operated by separate people. We weren't even allowed to view the room or facility prior to check in when we arrived early, so no at were we going to leave our bags as suggested.... It was an awful experience for two mature aged woman to have to face. We then were stuck in Hong Kong with no accommodation and it took us two hours on the Internet to find somewhere which was out of the main tourist precinct and paying more than we had budgeted for. Not a happy experience at all. Still waiting to hear from Wotif about compensation and an apology.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worst Hotel that we have in Hongkong - We booked for 4 adults (family room) at Mabuhay Hotel but the Manager transferred us to Paradise Hotel. The room was so small & dirty, the bed is good for 3 persons only which was uncomfortable for us during our two nights stay, the toilet door has broken glass. The Manager didn’t even bother to transfer us to a bgger room rather he advised us to transfer to another hotel & ask get our refund from Hotel.com. I felt so disappointed & will never recommend this Mabuhay Hotel ever!
- EQ (2/5): Worst experience ever - We show the proof of the booking but when we are there, the staff told us that the booking is not valid, and the room rate is higher from the room rate during the booking time. So she told us that we need to pay extra cash in order to stay in the room. What nonsense is that!!! Then what is the point of booking the room and paid????? And the funny thing is that the staff mentioned that this decision is agreed by Expedia. Annoying !
- Jun (4/5): Hotel at city center - The positive side is it is in the city center. The negative side is the hotel is not so clean. When we arrvived that was the only time the room was clean and we waited for about 20 min or so.The bedsheets were changed while we are waiting outside the room.When the ACU was switched on, the dust started to blow coming from the ACU. The room is small but I expected it.There was nobody to assist us during our stay except for the day before we check out when I chance upon the caretaker. We stayed for 4 nights but the caretaker did not visit us. We were on the 17L but the lift is upto 16L only. But theres no problem with that. The problem is the stairway is terribly dirty. So many dirt, garbage. Very disappointing. Generally not comfortable and not to be recommended.
