• Felsic (10/5): Quiet, cute, and nice staff that made our night as newlyweds amazing! - The location was nice, very quiet even with the boats going by. We stayed for the night after our wedding and put that in the notes when booking. We showed up and they surprised us with flowers, chocolates, and wine! Beds were a little hard, but it wasn’t unbearable. There’s a decent amount of diversity between rooms. We stayed on the top floor and it was very nice and seemed newer than the rooms my family were in on the 2nd floor.

• Colleen (8/5): - The rooms have balconies that overlook Lock 7 on the Welland Canal, so you can enjoy watching the ships. Located in a pleasant residential neighbourhood. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. Host was very nice. A low-key old-style motel, not fancy - just a good place to stay.

• Linda (6/5): Convenient But Needs An Upgrade - We like the location as it's right beside the Welland Canal and you get to watch big freighters and other boats go in and out of the lock which is right in front of this Inn. It's also in Thorold where we were visiting family so it was convenient. Years ago when I'd stay at this Inn the beds were a lot more comfortable and the bedding was a lot more than what they put on the beds now. There was a sheet and a blanket (which looked like the same blankets they've had for the last 30 years and no comforter on the beds. This Inn needs a good "update" to the beds and bedding ...

• Mike (10/5): - The ONLY thing I would have liked to change is if there were allowance to smoke on the back patio overlooking the Lock. It is a part of my morning routine to have a cigarette in the morning when I wake up as I get ready for the day. I also battle with insomnia and often having a cigarette calms me to sleep. I do not like that I had to step out over to the street-side to smoke. I understand the rule of not smoking within the unit, but do not understand why it is prohibited to do outside on the back patio. But aside from that nitpick, this was a pleasant experience and I look forward to returning in the future. I have already begun recommending the Inn At Lock Seven to my friends.

• Dorothy (10/5): Nice place to stay with easy access to Niagara on the Lake - We didn't have breakfast there. I wasn't aware that it was available. We went into Thorold, though there was not much open on a Sunday morning. There is a good Tim Hortons, though. The place was quiet, in a nice neighbourhood, and the room was easily accessible for all of us, like a motel. Good for people needing walkers. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Lots of parking. Picnic tables were provided outside the rooms for viewing the ships going through the lock. Everything was fine.

• Fred (9/5): Staff was very helpful and friendly. They are doing an excellent job managing this property. - Location is central in the Niagara area. It is right on the Welland Canal. Tho only way you could be closer to the boats is to be right on them. There was nothing we did not like.

• Martin Butler (7/5): Unique location. Great value in a quiet residential neighbourhood - The room was very spacious and clean. The view of the lock is quite unique. Reception was cramped and stuffy. Doesn't give a good first impression, but was not representative of the property.

• Eric (10/5): Always a pleasurable stay. - Just beautiful. Lovely sunrise yesterday morning. Every time we stay we see a type of ship we’d not seen before , so an educational experience as well. The location is central for a quick trip to anywhere in the Niagara region. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Nothing to dislike really. We stay here whenever we come to visit the area.

From your patio or balcony you get to watch 300+ meter ships making their way from Lake Ontario to Lake Eire (or the reverse). It's a spectacle. The property is a pleasant spot run by a really nice family.
• Birgit (8/5): - Die Lage mit Blick auf die Schleuse 7. Wir konnten Kontainerschiffe beim Durchschleusen beobachten. Die Unterkunft war einfach, aber etwas besonderes. Bett war uns zu weich. Kein USB-Anschluss um unsere Geräte zu laden. Das ging nur mit Adapter.

Quiet location, very clean, super friendly staff at the front desk. Private balcony overlooking locks. Nothing fancy but all the essentials are there! • Robert (8/5): We were delighted to be back at The Inn at Lock Seven, and hope we will be able to return! - (There was no breakfast, but none was advertised so we didn't expect it. We DID have a wonderful breakfast at the Good Eats Diner, and would recommend it to future guests!!) We have been to the Inn at Lock Seven three times previously, and LOVE this location!! It is such a delight to watch the ships passing through the Lock - so interesting, and we never get tired of it! We hope we'll have a chance to return in the future! Thank you so much for everything! The only thing that could have been better is that the Inn could really use an upgrade in the bathroom facilities! The fan is SO NOISY, and comes on every time the light is turned on. (We wish we had remembered to bring a night light, but one should really be provided in every bathroom.) We also had trouble with the toilet flush mechanism, and had to reach in several times to correct the "flapper" to make the toilet stop "running" after it failed to correct itself. Otherwise, everything was fine!

It would be nice to have a small kettle in the room but when asked, the staff quickly provided one for our use.

• Krystal (8/5): - Place served its purpose for a 1 night stay. Enjoyed the private balcony which overlooked the canal. Was very neat to see the ships come in. Room was clean but very dated. Fine by me but would have liked to use the tub for a bath, which I didn’t end up doing due to the condition of the tub. Ac worked very well in the heatwave and room was very quiet. Would go back again if in the area.

• Alenka (6/5): Tired looking but clean - It was very quiet but the Inn is really a Motel. It was clean but very dated. Old furniture, bed was very hard. Exterior doors were old, the deadbolt did not work. Only lock was what is typically used for an interior door with a small chain lock. Staircase to enter motel had a lock but again did not feel very secure. Nice view of the canal.

• Jill (8/5): - Location is amazing if you're interested in watching the boats make their way through the locks. It's close to the Falls and NOTL and wine route so perfect for us. Service was great and despite a power cut which wasn't their fault they did everything they could to look after us.
