• Naicker (7/5): - The staff good and very friendly. Security was not visible apart the entrance of the resort. The noise levels from the clubs opposite were ridiculous and went on till early hours of the morning we little to no sleep at night. We were told that the pool is no longer a heated pool. The game room has been converted to extra parking, the trampoline safety nets were removed leaving barely no activities for kids. There were no kids activities planned for the whole weekend. I have been to this resort 3 times before my last visit was less than 5 months ago yet so much has changed.

• Gabisile Precious (7/5): Family gateway - The location very nice,3 minutes walk to the sea. Food outlets near the venue. Heated pool. And friendliness of one of the housekeeping staff. Forgot her name but she was on duty even on Sunday when we checked out. Very nice lady .always eager to assist us. Bed linen not changed. And toilet paper not replenished daily. That was bad. Had to go and buy. Only one roll per bathroom for entire three nights for 6 people. Thats not okey . I didn't like that. We should be told when booking that I should bring my own toilet rolls than being told when I ran out of toilet paper in the room.
• Shirvani (9/5): - The location is fab although quite noisy. It’s in the main city on the main beach so lots pf street noise and traffic noise. Fabulous views of the beach though. The manager Leonard did his best to accommodate all our requests
• Queen Anne (2/5): Margate Sands- never again! - Liked the fact that all my family were together No towels were given- the first day, kept, getting stories of towels still drying, main bathroom toilet was clogged. We all were bitten terribly- alot of dustmites! Those stinging bites. There is centralised AC- vents are filthy and blowing more dust everywhere. 2 bedrooms, vents never worked. No coffee filled. Cleaners opened some of our snacks on the 1 day they came to clean- never swept at all & informed they dont change the bedding, even with us informing them of being bitten. We couldnt get pool towels without oaying cash only. Some staff didnt ask for any deposit- no consistency. Staff refused to provide extra toiletrolls. Had we known all this we would’ve carried our own.Great place- neglected with terrible service.
• Michell (3/5): Not worth the money and it is not a 4 star resort. - Location and Staff It needs massive TLC, furniture is old, it was dirty, we had roaches and leaking bathroom taps, kettle was broken, had to ask for replacement.

A very relaxing and comfortable stay! - We frequently enjoy relaxing weekends at this resort because of the spacious units and awesome beach views. There was a problem with the air conditioning in the unit we were allocated, but the staff were very accommodating and moved us to another unit. The staff was extremely helpful.
• SHALEN (1/5): The worst place i have ever stayed at. Will NEVER return. - Nothing went well. Place is infested with cockroaches and different insects. The both apartments had a damp and musty smell that eventually made my entire family nauseas and sick. Cleanliness, hygiene, no air conditioning, lack of support from staff and supervisors. Empty promises of getting our complaints rectified. Conditions and pictures advertised were completely different from what we experienced.

The stove didn’t work. The shower door didn’t work. The amenities like kids play room didn’t exist. Despite the hotel confirming my time of arrival 3 times, the room was not available when I arrived.

• Graham (1/5): Terrible - The unit that we were given was infested with cockroaches. My family and I arrived a little after 18h30 and were on our way back home at 21h30 because of the cockroach infestation, which is extremely unhygienic. To add to that the bathroom door lock was broken.

• veronica (1/5): Unhappy and disappointed - Not the view from the ground floor definitely. I liked the apologies from the staff but it was out of their hands. Good Day, I am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment regarding our recent stay at your hotel. The property is advertised as a 4-star, newly refurbished, clean and neat establishment. Unfortunately, what we experienced was far from what was advertised. Check-in was at 3:00pm and we arrived at 2:45pm. When we entered the first room at 3:00pm, it had not been cleaned. It was stinking, stuffy, and the cleaning staff’s items were still inside, yet no staff member was present. We were then moved to a room on the 7th floor, which was slightly fresher; however, the air conditioning was not working on a scorching hot day. We requested to speak to the hotel manager and asked to be moved again. We then had to wait until 5:30pm for another room on the ground floor to be prepared. While this unit was marginally better, the main bedroom bath leaked throughout the night. I have taken videos and photographs as evidence. The overall condition of the property was extremely disappointing: The lift was not functioning properly; doors opened halfway, which was intimidating and unsafe. The stove was cracked. There were cigarette burns on the sofa. There was no washing machine as expected. The bathrooms were small, untidy, and the bathtub was cracked. I had to place towels on the bathroom floor to prevent slipping due to water leakage. The actual roads to get to the resort was a nightmare with potholes so deep and bad The children’s facilities were misrepresented — there is no games room (we were told it has been closed since COVID). The pool was overcrowded to the point that there was no space for my children to enjoy themselves. We were travelling with three children and my 82-year-old mother, who is in a wheelchair. Moving between three rooms, carrying luggage, and pushing her from floor to floor — especially with lift issues — was extremely exhausting and stressful. People leave their comfortable homes expecting a relaxing seaside weekend away.

• Brendon (1/5): very bad - Location 10/10 no Wi-Fi, no aircon went to reception to complain but no one done anything we suffered the whole weekend with no aircon in the heat they only came and fixed the aircon on Monday when we were busy checking out. The kitchen was very bad with the cockroaches.
• Joann (3/5): Uncomfortable - The staff was extremely pleasant and willing to assist at all times. The room 17, was absolutely not livable condition. The main doors could not lock, the aircon was not working, the bar fridge was missing, the plug points were not working, the main bedroom double bed was almost broken, the linen was not clean, the floors in that unit is absolutely terrible and needs to be removed. The walls need to be cleaned or re-painted because the corners were dirty. I was not impressed with my first night stay at all and for the amount of money we paid was not worth the stay. It was my birthday vacation, I expected more comfort from this place.

Excellent and efficient customer service, our first night was disastrous and the management went above the call of duty to assist us and settle-in for the rest of our stay. 2. The Wi-fi was great. 1. Housekeeping was bad, towels not changed and struggled to get the team to assist us when in need. 2. The handling and communication around the water issue in Margate could have been better. The hosts should have atleast communicated and warned us about it so that we plan our day better.

We only got into our room at 17:30, we were basically made to wait for more than 2 hours which was very disappointing after driving for 10 hours and travelling with KIDS which were already exhausted and restless after a long drive There was no house keeping on Day 2 of our, upon enquiry we were told that it won’t be provided on that day

• jackson (9/5): Good and very relaxing and enjoyable. Staff are friendly and helpful. - It was our first time coming to margate sands. The location is perfect. We walked to the beach. We also walked to the many restaurants to have lunch and dinner. The rooms were in good condition and comfy beds. Only thing was the lifts as we were on the 4th floor with 3 kids. The lift took a little time for us to wait. The pool was nice and the braai facilities were great. Just the lifts should be maintained as it took a long time to come to our floor

• Lindiwe (3/5): - Beautiful view and friendly staff There was a very bad smell and a lady a reception tried her best to move us to a new unit but the smell was also bad, we moved back to the original unit we were given. There were cockroach almost every where in the kitchen and the bathroom. Since it was drizzling we didn't use the braai area we said we will use the oven but the button to increase the heart was not there, so we couldn't use the oven. We ended up using the stove. We didn't enjoy at all. Marget Sands can do better. We didn't enjoy our stay at all. But the staff at Reception were friendly shame.

• Rakashinee (9/5): - Loved the location and friendly staff. Facilities and apartments need to be upgraded. The furniture in the lounge and dining room as well as the appliances in the kitchen need to be replaced /cleaned /upgraded. Cleanliness, both interior and exterior, needs urgent attention. The grassed area in front of the ground floor apartments needs cleaning. More bins need to be provided, especially around the pool area.
