• Dean (8/5): Friendly welcoming staff…Clean tidy and comfortable beds… breakfast and dinner perfect… - On entering breakfast room was greeted by a member of staff and shown to a table food was ordered and arrived piping hot and quickly…..staff were really friendly and welcoming…the breakfast / dinner room has a nice cosy feel to it was clean light and airy… No car parking facilities on site…..Although there were car parking areas near by they were all pay and display this adds to the cost of the room when staying for a few nights….It would be a nice thought to have some kind of discount for overnight parking….

However, despite this, I would still come back because the staff and overall experience were lovely.

• Katherine (5/5): OK for a one night stay but no longer - Had a twin room number 9. Was an odd shape but worked well, I had one half and my daughter had the other. Shower looked lovely but didn't use it as was only there 1 night. Staff were all very friendly, especially the lady at breakfast. Nice town centre location. Bed was extremely hard. Pillows uncomfortable. Could hear taps and other plumbing throughout the night. Radiator very loud. Just walking outside the room was noisy. Didn't sleep well at all. Breakfast was OK, had eggs benedict with mushrooms. Hollondaise sauce wasn't nice and eggs over cooked but daughter enjoyed her pancakes. Cold buffet selection not great.

• Christopher (8/5): Very comfortable and if coming up to Driffield again, would definitely stay at Hotel Forty One - We were in room 3 which was very nice with a comfortable bed and plenty of space to hang our clothing. We did not have dinner at the hotel however the breakfast was nice and plenty of it. The hot water for the shower was a little hit and miss in the mornings - Sometimes quite hot and sometimes quite cool so that needs addressing. The dinning room / breakfast room was a little chilly in the mornings when having breakfast. If we were really picky, we could have done with a couple of drawers in our room.

I particularly liked that you preordered for your particular time so that it was ready when you came down for it. Check in was 4pm, although I arrived, as prearranged before 11am and handed over my luggage, leaving me to enjoy a day in Driffield luggage free. The staff were very friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. Less than 10 mins walk from the train station.

Food was excellent and all at a good price. Staff are only on site when the restaurant is open but this was not a big issue. No car park at the hotel but plenty close by.

• Jane (8/5): - The room was very clean and comfortable, though up quite a lot of stairs. Breakfast was very tasty and well prepared. The staff were very good at getting in touch ahead of the visit to let me know e.g. changes to breakfast times and access arrangements. I am not a fan of unmanned hotels in general (we arrived on a Sunday) - it seems to me to be a very odd concept in the hospitality business. I wish the weather had been more conducive to exploring Driffield, It looks like a really attractive town with a range of independent shops and eateries - and Number 41 could not be more central to the action.
• Jen (9/5): Met our requirements. - It was basic and good for the price. We only arrived, went to bed and then left fairly early but it was clean and great for what we needed. The cooked breakfast was lovely. As the restaurant was shut when we arrived we didn’t see any staff on arrival and just had to let ourselves into the rooms and the keys were left in there. One of the rooms smelt funny on arrival but soon sorted with opening the windows. The ‘buffet/help yourself to’ selection at breakfast wasn’t the best but can’t really complain for the price we paid.

Never slept so well away from home, bed was so comfy, shower was huge and easy to work. Fell up the small step in the room but it was dark and my own fault, some of the doors leading from the bar to the accommodation could do with a lick of paint.

• Martyn (8/5): We enjoyed the stay, but a few more instructions might have helped. - It was a quiet room, as requested. It was in the centre of the town. The bathroom was good. The bedroom was clean. The breakfast was great. My wife is vegetarian, but they made her a really nice meal. The staff were friendly. Only one window in the room, at one end of a long and narrow room. Putting on the light in the bathroom, meant a noisy fan. It took a while to figure out how to use the television. We only have freeview at home. No instructions on the central heating, but I did find the thermostat. When the heating came on, it started off noisy.
