Guest Reviews
- Ryan (8/5): -
- ryan (8/5): -
- Joe (1/5): Poor - Moldy smelling
- Dennis (5/5): -
- Mandy (2/5): - Looked nothing like the pictures! Was very old and gross looking. Definitely would not recommend, or stay there again !!!
- Andrew (2/5): - The rooms smelled like cigarettes. Property was not kept up to advertised standards. The floor felt like you would fall through at any time. 0-10 rating.
- Tracy (3/5): Loud area, very old and outdated - Location was good Noisy, train nearby, noisy neighbors
- Michelle (2/5): - The manager was not helpful, the rules to cancel are not reasonable. We attempted to cancel our request 3hrs after booking and were told we would still get charged. Even with the “global insurance” they recommended to get which we did, you have to upload multiple documents supporting your claim. I will be more mindful next time when a hotel has this cancelation policy, making sure not to book.
- Ann (1/5): If you like going to a bar at night and then sleeping above it this will work out, otherwise stay away - Some of the rooms were above a bar that is noisy with Karaoke until 2 am. The other 2 rooms had a chemical smell so bad we got a headache in a few minutes. The owner said to open the window because it was new paint, but that is not what new paint smells like. There are permanent dwellers smoking right by the entrance to the room. We couldn’t stay there and lost our $170 as it was non refundable and I haven’t heard back from booking.com. There was a motorhome parked permanently next to the hotel and a car with a broken window covered in plastic. The owners lied to us and said there was no karaoke but the bar said there was. At the front door there was a poster about a wanted man who murdered his 3 daughters.
- Michael (8/5): HAD IT ALL - CLEAN, SPACIOUS, LARGE FRIDGE & FREEZER, COMFORTABLE - HAD ALL THAT WE NEEDED FOR A QUIET NIGHTS STAY - OLDER HOTEL, BUT CLEAN
- Kathleen (10/5): - Clean and secure felt safe to sleep comfortably here
- Stephen (6/5): -
- Thomas (4/5): - Rotting bathroom floor, rocking toilet, shoddy paintjob (paint drippings everywhere) and a TV system that needed to reboot and was down 1/2 the morning.
- Ryan J (8/5): - Property needs updated but it’s much safer than the first hotel that was booked.
- David (4/5): - Check-in was very slow. We would have liked to stay in the room pictured in the ad.... we did not. The floor was very uneven and not carpet as shown in the ad photo. There was no sink in the kitchen. We needed ice in the morning for the traveling home, but it was locked up and didn't open till 9. We won't be staying there again.
- Laura (10/5): - Had no issues. I stayed during the fourth so it was loud but other than that everything was great!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room smelled horrible of cigarettes and did not really match the photos listed. The floor hadn’t been swept, the toilet had been left used and unflushed with grime all over the seat, holes and stains on the bedding. I’d recommend staying anywhere else unless they drop their prices down to $50 a night it wouldn’t be worth it.
- Vaughn (2/5): - I’ll start by saying I have stayed in a lot of “budget” motels throughout the US, Mexico, Central America, and SE Asia. I am by no means a snob.
Considering the cleanliness and condition of the room, I wouldn’t pay more than $50 Even then, I might prefer sleeping in my car. 150 dollars is absolutely insane.
Booked through Expedia and when I tried to check in the clerk let me know he wasn’t happy about booking through third party because they take a percentage. He couldn’t get his cc reader to work so after about 10 minutes of that I paid cash. He “upgraded” my room for the inconvenience.
The bedding was noticeably stained so I chose to sleep on top. Thank goodness I had my own sleeping bag and a pillow with me.
The floor and base boards had what appears to be black mold. The bathtub was so soft I thought I might fall through the ceiling into the restaurant below.
I know this isn’t the hotels fault, but the house next door has dogs that barked non stop throughout the night, luckily the trains going by drowned that out occasionally. Overall bad experience and waste of money.
Positives: full sized fridge and there’s microwave. Air conditioner worked. I checked in too late but there is a Thai restaurant on the property. Parking is free and convenient. Aside from the lecture for booking through Expedia, the staff was friendly enough. I don’t think there are bed bugs.
- Debra , William (6/5): Not so cozy cabin - King size bed against wall. We both have mobility issues and having to climb in and out from bottom of bed was a pain. Also extra high and hard for ANYONE under 5'4" to sit or get into bed. When main door was closed, it gapped to the outside at the bottom. Thankfully the outside temp was around 50 degrees or it could have been a COLD night. Toilet tank wobbled and very low to floor
- Marian (8/5): - Good location, friendly staff. Nice property.
- Gerald (8/5): - Clean safe
- Amy (4/5): - As others have said, this place was run down and the room was dirty. Mold in the shower, what looked like dirty fingerprints on the bathroom wall, and on the inside of the door to the room.
- Jack (2/5): - Worse nightmare at ridiculous price. Trains keep you awake.
- Ahmed (2/5): - Probably the worst-kept motel in America. rooms were extremely dirty. The bathrooms you could not even walk in. Because of the dirt on the floors, the furniture was completely outdated and broken, the heater was not working both the window and wall unit. There was no heat at night. The windows were busted and broken. I have stayed in better hotels in third world countries for a fraction of the cost. this did not feel like I was in America. The standards were almost non existant both cleanliness and safety. I would like to request a full refund because no one should be charged over a $100.For a stay like this I have pictures available if needed
- Andrew (1/5): No heat at all (January 30th 2025) - Nothing Everything
- Stalter (1/5): Cold and smelly - Smelled like hundreds of years of daily chained smoke cigarettes. Freezing cold. Would be better demolished than continue to serve as a motel.
- Eliza (10/5): - Super easy
- Casey (8/5): Very good -
- Carol (2/5): Horrible - I could not stay there. The room was awful. The floor went down hill and the rest of room went down hill from there. I did not feel safe there either. I did not stay, could not stay.
- Shelton (2/5): - The room smelled like they used ashtray air fresheners. It was absolutely disgusting. The bathroom floor was painted tile, the bed and the bed spred looked like they were still there from the nineteen forties, the towel bar was broken off the wall and never replaced. If you have the choice between staying here and building a primitive shelter out in the forest, build the primitive shelter.
- Charles (2/5): - One room was filthy boogers on the walls hole in the ceiling then they moved me the tv didn’t work and shower water wasn’t working then they moved me the third day again and the toilet didn’t work and I asked for a refund on the first day all the man says is contact Expedia so that’s what I did. I’m typically pretty lenient on the places I stay but this was just too much. Oh and I’m pretty sure that the little wall heaters they have are not rated for the square footage in the hotel so yes expect to be cold if your staying there in the winter through the night because it takes a good 6 hours to heat the room. And the only soft nice beds they have is in there single king size room. If you read this your welcome.
- Kelli (10/5): - Lovely little place.
- Cindy (2/5): - We were put in room 203 which was above a restaurant and next to the highway which was very noisy all night.
Bare minimum in the room. We were so disappointed with this lodging.
- Joseph (8/5): - Property manager was very kind and accomidating for all requests. Nice place.
- Verified traveler (2/5): A dump - In a nutshell, the place is a dump. The door was barely held on by hinges and did not fit right so flies and noise came through easily. The toilet tank took two hours to refill. The smoke alarm was missing. The only lamp did not work. Everything was dirty or had not been cleaned in a while.
All I can stay is stay away. We had a two night reservation and left after one night. We told the owner about everything and all he would say was, "You'll have to deal with Hotels.com, which is how we reserved it.
If I could upload pictures I would but let me state that the picture they show is nothing like what you get. There is no kitchen. Just a fridge. The two chairs are garbage.
- Elizabethm (5/5): Overpriced - The kitchenette and beds were fine. My husband said it smelled like his grandma. . . But I thought it smelled slightly like a smokers room. Coincidentally his grandma smokes...
The outside of the motel was kinda run down looking but the main drawback was the price. For one night in a somewhat shabby looking place( on the outside- inside was fine except for mild smell) it was far more expensive than reasonable.
- Marcia (2/5): The price for the night was way too much through booking.com. It was $165. I should have looked on other sites but I tru - Bed was pretty comfortable The door had a big gap around it where light came through. No hot water in sink Bathroom door had damage Floors were uneven.
- Amy (2/5): - Loud/fighting neighbors (seemed like longer-term residents next door so might not be a one-time deal, thus my complaint) and thin walls. Also, my room smelled very strongly of mildew. I can overlook peeling/chipped paint and loose floor boards, but not that. Very overpriced at $109.
- TAMMY (4/5): - Overpriced for the accommodation. Rooms were outdated and shabby.
- Mary (2/5): - I booked a stay here and there website on the expedia app said check in times 3pm -5pm no late check ins... which I assumed was a typo.
I called to be sure and said my ETA and the guy said it was ok. I called back a second time to be sure there was no language barrier and they assured me They would be there... When I got there, the man at the front desk said they had no rooms and they had given my room away because the person I had talked to didn't relay the message. The guy tried to offer me a bed in the maids cleaning room that wasn't even made and that didn't lock from the inside where it connected to the storage room. At that time, all the hotels were booked in the surrounding towns and I had to drive over an hr to the Seattle area to get a hotel and my hiking plans were ruined the next day (which was the whole point of the stay)
- Linda (4/5): - Room smelled of cigarette smoke. Microwave, fridge and shower were dirty.
- Karen (10/5): - The building was old but clean. The room had a full sized refrigerator. The staff was helpful and friendly and did not complain when we arrived 3 hours early. Great location convenient to mountain outings
- Corei (9/5): Good value, kind staff. - Clean large rooms, nice staff. It's a bit outdated.
- Corei (8/5): Very good - Simple but large rooms. Clean, quiet, and comfortable. We would have liked our trash dumped and fresh towels. Besides that, it was fine.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Serviceable Setting Passes St Steven - Although the proprietor was generally helpful, one felt secondary to the filled vacancy. The room's floor was slanted a bit towards the bathroom which had a blown circuit for the sink light and outlet. The top sheet was sideways giving me a shortshrift, toes uncovered beneath the comforter. The wall clock was non functional and room landline phone was non-existent. But the view of the surrounding mountain range was spectacular. The Thai restaurant next door was convenient and satisfying. Plus the nearby state park was easy to reach. If fixed and the resident guests depart a good stop before you go backwoods.
- Denice (1/5): HORRENDOUS and I didn’t even stay there! - There was nothing to like
I canceled my stay, the room I booked thru you didn’t exist! Room I booked not what they showed me, the owner said “no king rooms”
They ran my credit card, said it was denied, ran 2 other cards said they were rejected. Incompetent! I can assure you the cards I used are good!
The room was filthy, not what I asked for! I told him I am canceling my reservation and left.
2 hours later they charged my card 480.00.
I have called them several times, they will not respond, I have emailed them. I undercharge me 1 night but not for entire stay!
I have contacted you Booking and you tell me to call them. I am more than frustrated that you are not helping as it was booked thru you. This is fraudulent on all parts and I would like a response from you!
I was there for my dad’s celebration of life and this whole experience has made it that much harder! Please get back to me, please try your best talk to the managers as they ignore me.
- Elizabeth (2/5): - 0/10 Do not recommend. We wanted to be close to the river for some gold panning. Pictures are not accurately represented of the room or property. First impression walking into the room musty/pinesol made it hard to breathe. The floor is slanted downward making our suitcase roll into the refrigerator. The bathroom fan pulls nearby smells through windows of neighbors smoking.
- Wayne (5/5): Passable -
- randylR6821AQ (2/5): Don't do it. - My momma said if you have nothing nice to say, don't say nothing at all. The roof didn't leak, and the Jacuzzi was nice. Good thing because the shower handle came off in my hand. Sketchy people outside, the Thai food was excellent. The sign saying absolutely no refunds. Go for Thai, but drive a little further.
- Cathy (8/5): Very good - did the job, comfortable, nice staff location, loved that it had a full size refrigerator
- Peter (2/5): - Half of motel was long term rentals. Spray foam around gutters and downspouts. Found a hypodermic needle in the bathroom. Ice tray had glass shards in ice, found after melted in are water bottles. Bathroom floor spongy in front of sink. Stay in the newer part across the parking lot probably has better rooms.
- Shae (4/5): - The room smelled like cigarette smoke, the bathroom window did not lock and the room had old odds and ends for furniture. Walls were terribly thin and could hear the neighbors on both sides (who both obviously live there). Neighbors closest to headboard were shouting and their TV was loud most of the night. Lots of bugs in the bathroom. Was able to mostly drown out noise with bathroom fan. If I had paid $40 for the room, I maybe would've accepted it all but $110 is a lot to swallow for this overnight. Check-in lady was very nice and there was a full sized refrigerator available. Shower was newer and hot water was great.
- brian (10/5): Great front desk service - Great front desk service! Place is simple but clean and efficient.
- Mallory (8/5): Very good - Clean quiet motel. It’s two stars, so don’t expect the Marriott but it’s a great two star motel and the owners are lovely.
- nooria (2/5): - Property was run down.
- Wayne (2/5): - People were partying till 3am. Sure sounded like people were on heavy drugs! Worst hotel stay in my life!
- Moises (10/5): - Nice Stay!
- Joselyne (2/5): - The hearing didn't work. It's was below freezing temperatures this past weekend and it was so difficult to sleep in those conditions.
The fire alarm was activated midnight, which forced us to get up and go out into the cold.
- Curtis (2/5): - By far the worst motel I’ve ever stayed in. There was duct tape over the sprinkler, duct tape over the bottom of the door (assuming to keep the draft out… it didn’t), the white pillowcase was yellowed, the finish on the vanity was peeling off, the flooring was coming up at the corners… we stayed, we slept there for the night, but we won’t go back. I’m sure some people would think it’s fine, but it just didn’t feel very safe. We woke up to no running water and were required to postpone our morning bathroom activities until we got up to the mountain, 45 minutes away.
- Gary (4/5): - Heating barely works in December.
- Elaine (1/5): horrible - Nothing Location bad, reception area , outdoor, rooms all old, broken and just plain BAD! Too noisy with traffic, other rooms, and train running down tracks day and night. booking.com should not be affiliated with this company
- Fernando (10/5): - Nice staff
- Carol K (4/5): - We walked into our room and saw a huge wonderful tv and a couch that may have been gotten from the dumpster...it was gross. In the bathroom, there was one nice towel and the other one had 5 large holes in it. The bath mat should have been in the dumpster and the bathroom needed new flooring. The room did NOT look anything like the picture that was provided.
- Tawney (4/5): - I was told by a family member that the place was pretty nice but it was not nice in anyway. Yes it was convenient for the location and I understand it’s in a small town in the foothills of the mountains.. but if they have nicer rooms we didn’t get it
- Megan (2/5): - The door and frame was splintered and had obviously been kicked in more than once. The smoke alarm was not only ripped off the ceiling but the exposed wiring was dangling. The entire place was filthy, not only dirt, there appeared treshly dried blood on the floor near the bed. The sign in the room said no smoking but there was half a used cigars on the windowsill. The rooms smelled like a combination of mildew, cigarettes and putrid sewer when the toilet was flushed - it wobbled if you tried to sit on it and wasn’t fully screwed to the floor, the bedspread was soiled and disgusting. There wasn’t any trim around the window a/c so ants, flies and creepy crawlers were continually coming in, not to mention, if both the tv & a/c were turned on at the same time it blew a fuse and we had to hunt down management. Again, I have photos to back up these claims. The motel is unsafe and disgusting. We arrived late and there weren’t any other options at that point. We slept in our clothes on but may have been safer just sleeping in the car. I prepaid when I made the reservation but at check-in, the clerk insisted on running my card. Pretty sure I was double charged, which I will be disputing. Never, EVER book a room at Stevens Pass Motel
- david (8/5): - The staff were really nice. I was in room 4 which looked like it had recently been renovated with new floors, furniture and paint. It was nicer than I expected
- Cary (4/5): Basic room by close to busy road with thin walks but fine - Neighbors TV kept me awake until 4:18 am too thin of walls
- Brad (8/5): Great Lady at the desk, lots of interesting stories and history of the place. Would reccomend :) - Size of the room was excellent with lots of room for a dog Wifi was slow but wasnt a issue as cell service was good
- Kayla (2/5): - This property made my friend and myself feel very unsafe. We ended up leaving and finding lodging elsewhere because it was giving us such bad vibes. The walls were dirty, the room had an odd odor, the mattresses were very old, smelled like pee and sagging to the floor, the fridge smelled weird and the people next to us kept eyeing us when we went to my car. They looked like long term renters.
- Kim (7/5): Good -
- Cala (10/5): Great place, great value. - Very clean, spacious and well appointed. The air conditioner was a little slow to get started but worked great after awhile.
- Tim (10/5): Nice mountain view out the window - We took our annual motorcycle ride and planned to do some sightseeing in Gold Bar. Due to an accident, the scenic highway was closed for four hours. The room was just what we needed - clean, warm, comfortable.
- Stephanie (8/5): We really loved the room! The staff was amazing!! If they did just minor general maintenance/painting repairs this w - Price was great! Room was HUGE!! We arrived early and was able to check in and was upgraded to a king room with corner hot tub. Only bummer was night there was no hot water. But there was in the morning for shower!! Staff was wonderful and friendly. Will stay here again. Just needs a little better general maintenance. Clogged bath tub drain; areas paint/caulking pealing in bathroom above shower. ? Old water damage or mold?
- Ms (3/5): Don’t go there. - Got an upgrade. Spa bath, lovely, but overlooked directly onto the Interstate 2 Came home covered in bites
- Paul (5/5): Passable -
- Sheila (8/5): - Had an iron but no ironing board.
Room was warm when we arrived so we turned on the air conditioner and kept the door open for a few minutes to air out the room and cool it down. I was impressed with the cleanliness!
- Brit (10/5): - Very cute and nice. Its not a 5star place. But its a nice area and gives you what you need.
A bed. AC, shower and more!
Its a small town vibes which is great. I would stay here again.
We got this because of Northwest Mountain Challenge. And its about a 40 min drive. Which is a lot better the 2 drive home.
- Tabitha (4/5): - The pictures definitely don't speak for actual rooms. It was the sketchiest 4-5 hour stay I have ever had, could stay any long do to the anxiety the room, nieghbors, and general feel of the local induced.
- Jo (8/5): - Old but very clean we enjoyed our stay
- Sheri (2/5): Very poor - Staff was friendly The hotel is run down and dirty. Sheets were clean. However, everything else could use a cleaning.
- David (6/5): Pleasant -
- Courtney (7/5): Good - Stayed on are way home from a long car drive from Seattle the location was perfect for us and the staffed opened up after hours to check us in.
- Ian (8/5): - A decent motel in Gold Bar. Rooms comfortable and the Thai next door is excellent.
- Jennifer (2/5): - Terrible. Don’t stay here.
- Gethyn (10/5): - Recently renovated room had everything we needed. Went night skiing and checked-in before driving to Stevens, then stayed the night. Super easy, quiet except for some road noise in the morning, kind front desk service, and close to breakfast at the Mountain View Diner.
- Eduardo (8/5): Weekend at Stevens Pass - No frills hotel in close proximity to Stevens Pass. Staff was friendly and helpful. Place was clean and provided the basics to get you through the night.
- Fertig (10/5): Exceptional - How clean ot was. The coffee brand
- Brian (4/5): - The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The room needed better cleaning. It looked like the sheets were not cleaned and floor was covered with dust with multiple dead flies.
- Barbara (8/5): - Staff is very friendly. I asked for an early check in and that was no problem. The place is older, but our room had newer floors and overall was clean. Even a bag of microwave popcorn in the room. Not fancy, but all we needed for the night.
- victor (2/5): - The place was dirty, smelly, noisy, no drapes, NO STAY, NO REFUND.
- Gerald (8/5): Very good -
- Katherine (1/5): If you have the option to stay anywhere else, do. - The front desk lady was really nice. The room was the dirtiest, outdated room I have ever seen. I was worried about bedbugs.
- Nicole (8/5): Very good -
- Angela (2/5): - OMG…. do not stay here!! Terrible conditions! Regretted every moment .. wouldn’t refund $, staff rude! Room was filthy, sheets had little yellow urine stains looked like from little critters. It really was one of the most terrible hotel experiences ever!!
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - good pit stop for bikes
- Mindy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gordon (6/5): Ok if you aren't hard to please. - Was never told of a breakfast. There was 1/8 of a roll of toilet paper.
A lack of chairs in the room to sit on. Only two at the table no outhers in room.
- Greg (9/5): Perfect location for Stevens Pass, clean and friendly - We utilized the hotel as a base of operation for a couple of days while Greg Nance was running across America, from NYC to Ocean Shores, WA. This was near his last leg of the 3,156-mile run. Stevens Pass hotel was the perfect location, and the staff was very friendly. We also decided to stay an extra night.
- Diana (6/5): - The property is in dire need of updating. There was a terrible old musty smell in the office. The chairs were terribly dirty, and other than the microwave and TV, everything needed to be updated and replaced. On the plus side, the floors appeared newer and the sheets looked clean. Our son got blankets from the car and slept on top of the bed. He was sketched out by the accommodations. I would drive farther to stay somewhere nicer.
- Clara (9/5): Superb - Road noise and trains
