Guest Reviews
- Paolo (8/5): - Atención excelente, comida excelente, bebidas bien. Hay oportunidad de mejora en las instalaciones.
- Guillermo (10/5): -
- Marco (10/5): -
- Sherry (1/5): - The scenery Website didn't accurately describe the actual conditions of facilities. Beds were horrible, no site services such as vehicles for local transportation.
The competitors next door offered a much more luxurious accommodations, and services. No wifi !!
The mini split AC had a bird's nest built in it.
A bathroom tile fell off the wall and hit my husband's foot.
- FLOR MARIA (8/5): - Falta mantenimiento
- McCoy (4/5): Disappointed - Location and living space Sorry to say that there was a lot of activity in the ceilings throughout the space. Had a bad night of rest. Whatever is in the ceiling is soiling the area and the smell is in the fabrics throughout.
- Diego (10/5): - Nice and clean, wonderful nature and excellent hot springs pools
- Luis Alonso (2/5): - Terrible!!!!
- Itai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hernandez (10/5): awesome - everything was great, the bed was old and needs to be replaced
- Timothy (7/5): Good -
- Sanae (10/5): Must visit the Thermal Pools! - 1. The thermal pools were wonderful! So much better than the pictures! Pools had different water temperatures from 36c to 42c.
2. Breakfast was very nice!
3. Staff was very friendly. None.
- Timothy (6/5): Beautiful view and bird songs. - Beautiful grounds, view of the Volcano was incredible. Lots of bird songs ♡ The Hot springs are our favorite in the whole area. Breakfast and room were as we expected. We chose this hotel because there was a resturant on site, but we had to drive up to it and it didn't serve food at 4, only open for dinner at 6. Our room was nice but we could hear neighbors full conversation until late into the night. After a days drive we were ready for food and rest 😒
- Nathaly (10/5): - N.A
- Timothy (9/5): Superb - Loved the hike to the beautiful hot springs in the forest setting.
- Sandra (6/5): Ok.. - Rooms were dated, but clean. Enjoyed the afternoon at the thermals. Was ok as we hot a discount on room rate. Wpuld have been very disappointed if we would have paid $170 a night.
- Roti (6/5): Beautiful hot spirings but very uncomfortable rooms and beds -
- Osvaldo (8/5): - Rooms need some improvement. Breakfast was good.
- Nicole (6/5): - Amenagement paysager super.
- Yuni (8/5): Was amazing! - Beautiful quiet place.
- Adrian (8/5): - Un lugar para desconectarse
- Arthur (8/5): Very good - The hot springs are great, as well as the staff!
- Dusman (8/5): Nice place. - Very friendly and polite staff. Buffet breakfast, food was cold all the time.
- Donna (9/5): We always return - Friendly staff, good food, awesome hot springs!
- Joel (1/5): We drove 4 hours to get to this location. Very disappointed. - The hot springs were nice and so were the grounds. The bungalow we stayed in was very dated, bathroom door did not shut, bed was like sleeping on a bed spring, stains on the bedroom wall appeared as if it was mold. My wife and I had a bad headache the next morning. There were also ants all over the kitchen countertop. Needless to say, we only stayed one night out of the two we had reserved.
- Marco (8/5): Very good -
- Nancy (7/5): Nice relaxing getaway, a relief from San Jose noise and traffic. - The grounds were gorgeous, like paradise. Beautiful gardens with lots of paths were just delightful. There are fields with cows and horses, very scenic. The springs are wonderful, a beautiful walk to get there. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff is very nice. My husband has a knee problem and they even drove us to the parking lot by the springs which was awfully nice.
There are many separate hot pools, rustic style not like square swimming pools, and temperatures ranging from lukewarm to scalding. We are in the rainy season and this morning we had them all to ourselves! Wi-Fi was pretty lousy in the room. If you need to do anything serious you can go to the restaurant which has adequate Wi-Fi. No English speaking channels in tv, which doesn’t bother me except I had to listen to husband gripe about not having tv or Netflix.
For anyone with bad difficulty walking getting to the springs might not be easy. It is an 800 meter walk on the lane (if you have a vehicle you can drive, or they can drive you) then about 400 meters through the beautiful jungle to the springs.
- Atzmon (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing hot springs! Wow wow wow!
The staff was great and very friendly. We took the family cabin for 4 people with the kitchen and it was great. We enjoyed our stay very much. More equipment for the kitchen such as better knives, some bowls, and towels would be nice
- Ricardo (5/5): Only hot springs worthy - Helpful service The facilities, they lack adequate maintenance. They are not worth the price..
- Christiane (8/5): Very good -
- Melissa (3/5): I enjoyed the hotsprings immensely, but I would not want to stay at the hotel room again. - the hot springs were amazing and enchanting, it made up for the fact that the rooms have not been improved for 30 plus years I am assuming. I really did not like our hotel room, for the value it was completely rundown, uncomfortable but basic and clean at least. The food at the restaurant was really poor quality.
- Carranza (10/5): Exceptional - The place is amazing. Excellent service. It's a hidden jewel. We had a wonderful experience. We Love the Hot springs and the Horse back riding. The staff are very nice and friendly. A wonderful hospitality. The walking trail towards the housing area needs a little bit more of lighting for night time.
- Cristina (2/5): Beautiful jungle & river, very outdated hotel/lodging& hot spring accommodations. - The staff is very nice, the grounds are kept very well Wow this place needs some major renovations and upgrades. The rooms are beyond basic, the beds are old and springy. The property is completely empty- which says it all. The staff is very nice, but the place needs a lot of work. The hot springs are cool, but needs a lot of renovation.
- Francisco (10/5): Forrest inmersion - Nature Nothing
- Xavier (7/5): Good -
- María (8/5): Very good -
- Marco (9/5): Superb -
- Mafer (8/5): Very good - The forest, termales Springs and spa area is gorgeous. A real natural experience.
Doña Ligias massage was the absolute best! Some of the reception staff sent mixed information which became confusing.
The rooms should be kept by pest control standards. I think they just started doing it.
- Randy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (5/5): Passable -
- Berman (6/5): It was nice but I was expecting more - I liked the bungalow type room and its privacy, space. Staff was friendly I did not like the bungalow type room due to the poor condition of the paint, kitchen utensils, and the refrigerator in bad condition. Doors that could not be opened, lack of other kitchen utensils such as knives, cups, etc. There was also a huge problem with noises of rats in the ceiling and huge cockroaches coming out of some furniture. The sound of the rats was very annoying and did not let us sleep peacefully
- Loy (2/5): - We paid $170/night for this terrible place… never again. How does Expedia give this place good rating? The only saving grace is reception and ok breakfast . See the pics and make your own judgement
- Andrew (8/5): - The Thermal pools were great. Grounds and area is beautiful.
- Annie (8/5): Very good -
- Bridget (5/5): We were disappointed with the comfort and maintenance of the room. - The staff were friendly, food in the restaurant good, the pools are always very good Poor maintenance of property, not a welcoming room, very sparse furnishings, minimal equipment in the kitchen
- Francisco (9/5): Superb -
- Adolfo (10/5): Excelente -
- María (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (8/5): Family bungalow - This place was a highlight of our trip. My family loved the hot pools and it's amazing paths and views. We ate at the restaurant on site 2 times and really enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our bungalow was fantastic other than the hard spring feeling beds. We woke up to every toss and turn, but other than that this place was exactly what we were looking for and needed. Very beautiful and clean.
- Traci (10/5): MAJESTIC - The Staff is very accomodating. The hot springs and tour on horses was absolutely stunning and the beauty of the place is amazing. Absolutely nothing was wrong with this stay. I would highly suggest going back.
- Nathalia (5/5): Passable -
- Andrés (8/5): Very good -
- Edwin (8/5): - Termales en medio del bosque
- Javier (8/5): - The Spring Waters are amazing, so natural inside the forest. It is a must.
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
- Russell (9/5): great location, serene evenings at the hot springs, quiet and peacful - peaceful and private hot springs. fantastic location with great staff serving cocktails at the spa mattress covers and new mattresses
- Cristian (10/5): - Un lugar excelente para venir a disfrutar y relajarse
- Jimmy (5/5): The quality of the rooms is no OK - Location Room has poor maintenance
- Seok (1/5): Another hotel if you have money - just nature Dirty room, unfriendly staff, no electricity
- Socorro (9/5): Superb - I like the view of the hotel Menu has to many choices. It will be better to have fewer choices tasteful choices.
- Kathryn (10/5): Beautiful soak and come back to clean room, shower and air conditioning with nice staff. - Basic clean room with air conditioning and the best hot springs! I liked everything!
- Andrey (5/5): Passable -
- Hisanobell (6/5): I hope they pay more attention to the facility functions like door opening, etc. - The surrounding environment was beautiful, and the hot spring was nice. The bed was alright, and the room had a functioning air conditioner. They gave me extra blankets for me. The water level of the hot springs was low due to the little rainfalls, but I could relax there.. The gardens were beautiful, with various tropical plants and flowers. The room entrance key was very hard to open, and only my friend could open it. The breakfast was a typical Costa Rican rice and beans and plantain set, which was not really enticing for us to eat. I used to go to this hotel, and they had a buffet breakfast, which I thought we would get. But, since we are in the rainy season, meaning not many tourists, they gave us the traditional breakfast. It was OK, but this time the experience was quite different from the previous visits.
- Santiago (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - The place has an amazing location. I believe the place is underrated. Lots of nature, natural hot springs The bed is a bit uncomfortable. The air conditioner sounds a lot
- Kimm (7/5): The termales we enjoyable but hotel was Blah - Enjoyed the location , termales and breakfast was good The check in was not very friendly a the beds only had a sheets no coverlet or blankets so d had to ask for blankets for the beds.
- Karla (7/5): Good -
- Steven (8/5): Come for the natural thermal pools! - The thermal pools and the grounds. The food is average. Staff is great! The condition of the room, no hangers, difficult to unlock room door, bathroom felt grungy.
- Fernando (10/5): Todo muy bien - Todo muy bien y estancia agradable
- Rodrigo (8/5): Very good -
- Andrés (7/5): Good -
- Sylvia (8/5): worth the visit! - The service person at the pool bar was very friendly, we enjoyed his attention This was my third stay.
What I disliked was how the breakfast "policy" changed. I comparison to past stays this time was only DESAYUNO TIPICO offered.
That's not really what vegetarian guests eat!!!
While asking for some bread with marmalade in exchange, we were told that there is no marmalade (or the like) offered. Well, that's POOR!!!
- Alexandre (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rbenitez86 (9/5): Superb -
- Pablo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rodrigo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (7/5): Good - The place is very nice. Minimalist rooms. The breakfast was very good traditional food. The 400 meter walk thru the rain forest to access the hot springs was very challenging for me.
- Cristina (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (5/5): Passable - Breakfast- restaurant
- David (10/5): - .
- Timothy (8/5): - I liked the nicely illuminated cement block path (with wood rail supports) that leads one down and down toward the hot springs, which are located in a beautiful wooded setting. The atmosphee is tremendous. The deli and drink bar (which I did not utilize) was an added attraction.
The only negative I would mention is that the bathroom shower needs to have soap trays, and ideally would have some non-slippage strips for footing - or at least a study railing inside. I say this because at my age of 75, I need to be ever vigilant against falls. The tile flooring in the shower renders it slick. Again, as I am ever vigilant it did not present a problem. But we did have to put our bar of soap on the floor (in its paper wrapping, no less!) just outside the shower.
