Guest Reviews
- Brent (9/5): Great place to stay - Easy and clean Convenient
- Vair (8/5): -
- Robo (10/5): Was excellent for what we needed - The location was perfect as we had a sick child in the Ryoal Children’s Hospital so acess was very easy. The staff were very friendly and let us check out late. The only thing I didn't like was the acess to the Hotel after hours from the RCH side.. you had to go either out side the hospital around on the street or back through the car park.
- Julie (9/5): -
- Catherine (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff, clean, comfortable and good food nearby. Attached to the hospital but not just for visitors. Will definitely be back.
- Natasha (8/5): -
- Caroline Gisela (10/5): Always really look forward to staying here. - Very clean. Very comfortable. On tram line. Wish we could have stayed longer!
- Rebecca (9/5): -
- Kirsten And Mathew (10/5): - The staff were friendly and helpful.
I liked that there was a microwave. The coffee pod machine didn’t work, but luckily there was a restaurant downstairs for me to have my coffee fix
- Krystal (10/5): perfect escape in the perfect location - the bed is like a cloud, theres spare pillows in the wardorobe. the room is spacious with a large window and block out curtains. the location is ideal, tram stop right out the front, close to both hospitals, theres a small grocery store and food outlets on the ground floor. I highly reccomend you try the cafe Farmacy thats located out the front.
this was my second time staying and it may be my new favourite choice. nothing
- Rachael (10/5): -
- Sharman (10/5): -
- Michelle (9/5): - Comfy beds, clean rooms, friendly staff, close to hospitals and restaurants Parking is expensive
- Gary (9/5): I will book through the hotel next time as Booking.com don’t answer the emails that you send them in time and it cost me - Great location
- Teresa (8/5): -
- Georgina (9/5): Excellent - Available access to disabled parking
- khehra (9/5): -
- Jody (5/5): - Location Room wasn't clean. Literally shit stain on the shower curtain. Floors were extremely slippery. Accessible room but was worse than other rooms.
- Tania (9/5): Perfect - Excellent location Only the shower over the bath
- Steve (10/5): I will stay again. - Everything None
- Jennie (8/5): -

- Shane (7/5): Forced to stay here due to child in the hospital. Hotel attached to a hospital doesn’t need to pretend to be “high end”. - Was within the children’s hospital which made it perfect for our needs. I asked politely about early check in depending on my child been discharged from hospital. The response was only about elite rewards members very rude and callous considering the reason for the request. I was happy to pay.
- Sarah (9/5): -
- Nicole (10/5): - It was comfy and quirky. Great location
- Kate (10/5): Great option for hospital appointments. 24 hour reception was really handy. - Super easy access to RCH. Room was clean , comfortable and enough space for us. Great to have a microwave in the room. Nothing. 😊
- naomi (8/5): -
- Claire (8/5): Close to hospital, clean and breakfast inclusion was great. - Location is great for hospital visits. Nothing all good
- Dowler (10/5): Comfortable, relaxing and welcoming - Staff are always welcoming There’s nothing to not like
- Kellie (8/5): -
- Sithambarampillai (9/5): - Clean, comfortable, location Nil
- Amy (9/5): - Nice clean hotel. The breakfast options at the cafe were all delicious! Great location right next to hospital and park, easy to catch a tram into the city.
- Tegan (10/5): -
- Samantha (10/5): Perfect for a short stay - Very clean, room was ready early, really quiet and has everything I need for a few days. Location was perfect as I was at the hospital for a conference but there’s a tram stop right outside that is direct into the city Nothing
- Kenta (10/5): Everything was excellent. - Excellent price, location, staff, room, bed, view.
- Karen (8/5): Likely will not return to stay if we have a car. - Very close and convenient to tramlines, fast and easy to get into the city and the zoo. Room is very quiet. Adjusting the room temperature was tricky. Parking can be expensive in the hospital’s parking. We didn’t rent a car as public transport was convenient and free at the time.
- Davide (5/5): I cannot return to the Larwill given my last two stays there. Please let me know if this has been a recent problem for o - I’ve stayed at the Larwill many many times before and its location, staff and amenity is value for money however, I have had bedbugs from my last two stays there. Second to last stay was on a trip when I also stayed in another hotel in Tasmania, so assumed bedbugs were in that hotel because it was new to me. But now, after getting them again having just returned from staying at the Larwill it has confirmed it
Also, as a small aside, $6.50 for a small take away coffee was outrageous. Cafe is owned by Accor I believe

- Sophie (10/5): Lovely - Nice and easy access to hospital, good price Bed was very soft, wasn’t alot of room for pram etc
- Jade (7/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): A great option. Don’t be deterred by fact that it is within a major hospital. - Great style and room facilities - great location
- Rachel (9/5): - We stayed at the Larwill because my son was having surgery at the Royal children’s hospital. We traveled from Hobart and it was so convenient for us . The beds were comfortable and the pillows great .

- Cindy (10/5): Not our first time. We will stay again. It is a lovely hotel. - Great location for appointments at Royal Children's Hospital. Bed is comfy. Pillows awesome and location great. The power point for phone charging was located behind the pillows at the bed. Probably could be moved to down between the two beds really. It wasn't an ideal spot. We had a different charger so could not use the alarm clock charger provided and needed to use our own plug in the wall charger.
- Natalie (8/5): - Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and beautiful view over the park. The bathtub to was very slippery when getting in/out of the shower to the point i slipped hitting my leg on the outside of the bath causing a large bruise to my leg. This is a safety issue and should be looked at replacing. Yes there is a sign down the bottom of the glass shower screen stating slippery when wet it is below eye level and easily missed if not looking for it.
- Frances (9/5): -
- Slater (9/5): - The location, ease of the whole process and the comfortablness was so good Nothing
.I enjoyed it
- Kimberley (10/5): - How close it was to the hospital Nothing
- Anne (9/5): Doing some training at RCH to be a family support worker - Location close to RCH Nothing

- claire (9/5): - Very comfortable clean and convenient. Inside the children's hospital which is fantastic for morning appointments.
Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful stall.
We have future appointments at the children's and will definitely stay here again.
- Alexandria (9/5): Love this place very comfortable beds - Love larwill stay here every time I’m in Melbourne
- Joep_dl (9/5): - Great atmosphere and friendly staff Busy road
- Peta (9/5): - I liked the location as it was close to where we needed to be during our stay There was a smell coming from the drain in bathroom sink. I didn’t like the shower in the bath. We did have grand children with us but they are teenagers. My husband has problems with his balance so getting in and out of shower was a challenge.
- Robin (8/5): Comfortable and convenient - Location Reception staff couldn’t help us with directions
- Suzanne (9/5): Would stay again. Really good next to Royal Children’s Hospital - Clean with cafe facilities and great parking
- Tabitha (10/5): -

- Julia (10/5): - Great location.
- Tyler (10/5): - . .
- Kenta (10/5): Very comfortable beds, great location, upgraded to a better room with an extra single bed. Friendly staff. - Location cost Staff Had to pay a $100 deposit even though I paid the full amount ahead of time. They said they’d pay me back after five to seven business days. I guess that they would take out money from that for parking, mini bar and any damages. I would rather pay it as I check out.
One of the blind cord fastenings was ripped out of the plasterboard wall by someone previously. I took a photo just in case. I hope they don’t try to charge me for that.

- Krystal (10/5): I’ll be dreaming of that bed for a long time! - That bed!! I’ll be dreaming about it for a long time. It was so convenient, the location is perfect for hospital appointments, going to the zoo or jumping on the tram for a few minutes and being in the CBD. Parking onsite it’s also a bonus. No negatives.
- Linda (8/5): A comfortable stay in a handy location. - Very near trams into the CBD and to Melbourne Zoo. 20 minutes from the airport. Quiet. Comfortable room which was spotlessly clean. Good restaurant available in the hotel. If you are visiting the Royal Childrens' Hospital it would be an excellent place to stay because it is linked to the hospital internally on the ground floor. Servicing of the rooms varied on a daily basis from excellent to a little below average depending on who was rostered on. On the worst day the dishes were left to drain in the bathroom on a towel and were not properly clean.
- Sheree (7/5): - Friendly staff, great location Beds were too soft and I usually sleep on a plush mattress.
- christian (8/5): Modern, well priced hotel - Nice interior design, great price, comfy bed.
- Marybel (10/5): - Great value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful, located right next to Royal Children’s Hospital. It was actually connected to the hospital so didn’t need to walk outside to access the hospital. Easy parking. Rooms were neat, clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. Beds were comfortable and was quiet too. Highly recommended for those needed access to the hospital. Nil
