Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Good location but cannot adjust the temperature of the air conditioner and the shower shows some problems with the heat .
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- SUSAN YEP (6/5): good location - room very small .only location good. waiting lift too long.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Maricel (8/5): Everest Inn HK - Well if you are looking for a low cost place to stay at HK, I recommend the Everest Inn Guest House. It is located at Tsim Sha Tsui whrebyou can get an easy access to MTR station, buses and taxi. The location is also 10 minutes away from the Harbour City Science Museum, Cultural Centre and Garden of Stars. The staffs are so nice and friendly. We enjoyed our stay.
- Jacqueline (2/5): Avoid at all costs - From the beginning it was a terrible experience! At check in the guy had an attitude and apparently didn't have anything organized. He asked if I was staying only 1 night meanwhile I booked 3 online. Everything seemed annoying to him. When we got to our room, all of the furniture was falling apart and the bathroom was disgusting. When I went to use the bathroom I found a huge cockroach! We killed it and left it under the slipper for housekeeping to see. Do you think they cleaned it? No the just kept moving the slipper from one part of the bathroom to another part everyday we were there. In the hotel hallways there was food left out and dirty linen everywhere no wonder this place has bugs. In the hotel lobby the staff was smoking and playing poker any time I passed. Every time we left the hotel and came back our room key wouldn't work. We would have to go to the front desk to have it reactivated and one time we had to do it twice, what a drag. I do not recommend this place at all, don't waste your money.
- Sze Kai (10/5): Good hotel - Good
- Diego (10/5): Small room but clean and cheap - Very small room, but okei, because very cheap price.. rooms very clean, staff very friendly.. will go again!
- Franklin (4/5): Small adequate hotel close to transportation - Hard, small beds. Elevators took 30 to 45 minutes to go up. Rooms small, but adequate. Hard to locate.
- Enrique (4/5): if you need to safe ..... if not don't dare - the place is in an apartment so it is hard to get there even if it is a very central building. The personnel working there was ok nothing special, maybe a bit below. For taking a shower it was an heroic matter because you had to struggle between the wc and the basin.
- jerzy (6/5): very small rooms - Stop over in Hongkong
- Verified traveler (10/5): So good - There's no window but it is good for us cz when we came back home no light was can make goooood sleep... and worker also very kind. Thx.
- filipina (8/5): budget room - secure small room with hall door lock, as well as room door lock, safe in the room. no room for chair or anything else.
- Marco (6/5): good value for budget minded individuals - close to restaurants, shopping, buses, MTR(subway). good price but the tv had only 4 channels, all in chinese. Air conditioner would turn on and in 5 minutes the compressor would turn off for 4 minutes. kept cycling like that our whole stay, so the room never got cool, which would be my biggest complaint. our friend was in the next room and said her air conditioner got too cold. the other was inconvenience because it is on the 15th and 16th floor and the elevator only holds 7 people at a time. But that's life in Hong Kong. staff was good, competent. room was clean and cleaned daily. of course the rooms are very small, which should be expected at that price. Overall a good value.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don't stay here - House keeping (I assume) had left the door ajar so when I arrived back to the room later that night my initial thoughts were that I had been robbed.
I'm not sure why Expedia lists Guesthouses or doesn't list them as such as the room was booked through an unpublished rate.
- Verified traveler (2/5):

- Verified traveler (4/5): - The building the hotel is located is the notorious Chungking Mansions. Though the hotel does its best to compensate this drawback, it still lets people feel unsafe.
- Paul (6/5): Not bad. Small room but good value - Nice location but wifi didn't seem to work. License for guesthouse might have expired. Polite staff. Outside many aggressive people soliciting
- Verified traveler (6/5): Super strategic location with MTR station - Water heater is bad, hot water will change to COLD water while bathing.
During going to guesthouse from lift, the lift is occupied with a lot of races of people and some of them are 'scary'.
- Joy Lee (6/5): - The location is good near Tsim Sha Zui MTR, but inside the building lots of foreigner feel like a but complicated place. Not suitable for family and Girl alone.
- James (8/5): Good spot - Great location. Great Indian food right downstairs. Rooms are as they appear. For the price and location it's well worth it. Wifi was good. Shower pressure is low. A lot of nice bars walking distance some around the corner and some five blocks up Nathan to Kimberley. American sports bar/food on mody road and mody lane .8 miles away that opens at 8am for all American sports games.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Close subway - This hotel is close subway but confused about the direction in first time that I arrived.
- HYUN JEONG (6/5):
- Mike (6/5): Good location on Nathan road nr shopping+promenade - Hostel accommodation with ensuite bath. Nice tiny room clean and functional. Elevators are overcrowded and can take a very long time to use. Bottom floor is an arcade of small vendors selling food, electronics & everything in between. I liked this but some may find it annoying. I thought it was an excellent value for the location, great for a place to stop on the way from Shenzhen to the HKIA.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Horrible, Horrible - Vendors, Vendors, Vendors always attacking you. Want you to buy this or buy that. This happens each and everytime you walk up the outside steps. They must practice the same line, "Watchs, Tailor, Gold".. Hey Boss buy this...
Horrible, Horrible place...
- World Traveler (4/5): Central to the ferry but less than expected - Even before check in the location was very hard to find. The elevators within the building are not easily marked and I had to depend on sellers to point me in the right direction. The check in was not very smooth and the room was not stocked when I arrived. The wifi was also down and remained down for quite some time. Although the staff could do little to appease the sitation, they did not offer any pleasant customer service remarks to make you feel comfortable. My entire stay remained slightly uncomfortable and I was never at ease.
- songphon (8/5): So here is the first choice - I just stay only 1 night and change to find different other hotel. Last I find that Everest Inn Guest House is best accommodation in chungking mansion, at least there are cool refrigerator and quickly air-con, room as seen in www.
- Pappy (4/5): don't stay here - The hotel is not a hotel it is rooms inside a great big building called Chung King Mansion which is home to lots of tenants some are hostels others call themselves hotels and the rest are apartments the building was built in the 1960's and has not been remodeled. Do yourself a favor pay a little more and go to a real hotel. This place should be one star or less.
- family (4/5): Not with Kids - We are traveling with our nine year old and getting from the street to our room was stressful. The immediate area around the building and the building itself are dirty and very crowded with hawkers and vendors trying to sell you everything and anything. The room was clean. The location is within walking distance to good sights but the positives end there. The building is full of hostels, many on the same floors turning it into a very large box hostel. The two small elevators are dirty, one broke down for a few days. The safe in our room was broken and the hostel guy told us he would replace it. We did not ask him to, he just said he would. He didn't. We asked for help getting a taxi to the airport for 6 am and were told that the red cabs wouldn't take us, we should take a bus. In the end, he did help us but we paid too much for a private cab. Saw a rat on the 16th floor close to the elevator, happily we were on our way to the airport.
- jerzy (8/5): very good - Small bad very clean and functionally rooms.Nice, professionals office and service workers.Very good communicate in english.I was twice in this hotel and next time I will come again.
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Ron (6/5): E hotel - Place is good but hard to find and the elevators going up to room are hard to deal with
- Verified traveler (2/5): so terrible -
- Jim (6/5): Small and reasonably priced, but a bit noisy. - When someone came into the hall way area or entered their room it was heard in every room and yet the price was reasonable and the location was good. I was mainly in HK for medical and dental appointments.
- Abbey (4/5): You get what you pay for - tiny rooms - The "hotel" is a little hole in the wall. Don't stay here if you like your open spaces as the rooms don't really accommodate for this. I stayed in a twin room, which was so cramped with two people. Looking at the single rooms, I found that our room actually had more space, but only by a metre or so. We were only given one key between the two of us, which made it extremely hard if one wanted to go away, as the other would have to wait for them. The elevators are so slow and small - often you would wait up to 10 minutes to go up or down floors. The location of the hotel is incredible - you are seconds from the TST MTR station and right on Nathan Road, but beware of all the Indian and African sales reps spruiking their businesses to you as it can sometimes get a little overwhelming.
I'm not sure if I would stay here again. I think I would prefer to pay a little more and stay somewhere where I did not feel cooped up in the smallest room.
- andres (6/5): You get what u pay for. - At first I read all the reviews about this hotel and the famous Chunking Mansiones so I had my low expectations of the place. It is Hong Kong and the truth is that it is a expensive city with not a lot of space.
This hotel was an adventure for us at first, but then you get use to it fast. The lobby of the buoldimg is full of ppl from India and there is like a market. (Justo avoid them and say NO to everything they sell , unless you want something) btw, the indian food is very good.
Another thing is finding the elevator of your block, the place is a labyrinth but de found it.
The elevator is super slow and its almost always crowded.
The WiFi speed was great.
The staff very helpful and friendly.
The room was not even close to the picture but we didnt mind.
The location is GREAT!
For the price and the location I totally rexommend it but, take into account the things I said.
- Pavithran (6/5): Decent stay, safe, close to shops and public transit - It is located on the 17th floor of the Chuking mansion building, that has many other guesthouses. If you have a booking, do not respond to anyone outside the building if they ask you if you're in search of a guesthouse.
Pro: It can be easily reached via public transit. From Airport, take Airport express train to Kowloon station and then K3 shuttle to Holiday Inn, from there it is about 150m walk. Lots of shops to buy basic needs and asian eateries on the ground floor. The private rooms are neat, safe and quiet; Towels, slippers, telephone, a safe and a fridge are provided. The hotel staff are polite.
Cons:
The building is very old and cramped. Only one small elevator goes to the 17th floor and the waiting time can be as long as 30 mins !! Nothing about this guesthouse is spacious, the washroom, especially, is illogically small. Plan to stay with only a handbag or two. Drinking water is not in the room!! It is available in the common/reception area. A small geyser heats water for bath, after a while the water is merely warm.
- Joseph (4/5): Ask others opinion before booking..... - Seems the place is not safe to stay... They don't know how to attend properly the concern of there guest. Elevator is working but moving like a turtle, there is always a long que in the elevator especially at night.
