Only issue was a constant draught from one of the 3 windows, seals had perished, meaning cold air was streaming into room. Only way to partly combat this was to place towels at bottom of window. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very basic Japanese offering.

- Boogalie (8/5): Meets expectations and includes buffet breakfast - It is located a manageable walk to Himeji castle and near Himeji station. The room was small. You can’t keep your luggage open on the floor. But I expected this from budget friendly business hotels in Japan. The hotel I stayed at Haneda was the same size and cost more. I liked the options for breakfast. I would not count on the complimentary dinner. It starts at 7 pm. We were downstairs by 7:07 pm and there was almost nothing left. There are plenty of places to eat in Himeji anyway. The bed was very firm which has been the same for the other hotels where I stayed in Japan. I didn’t find it noisy. Front desk clerk is helpful. I would stay here again for the same price or less.

- Verified traveler (10/5): とてもコスパが良いホテルです - 姫路城観光で利用しました。駅からも近く、姫路城へも歩いて行けます。 近くにはスーパーやコンビニもあります。 駅とは反対の北側に少し行くと、スナック等の繁華街がありますが治安は良いです。 ホテル周辺も静かです。 部屋はエコノミーダブルを男女２人で利用。一般的なビジネスホテルの部屋で狭いですがとても清潔です。 Free Wi-Fi がたびたび繋がりにくくなる点だけが残念でした。 一番印象に残っているのは無料の朝食と夕食です。朝食は和食と洋食がありました。品数は少ないですが、無料ですから。これだけあれば充分です。しかも美味しい。 夕食は牛筋カレーのお肉がとろとろ、うどんも美味、呑んだ体にしみ渡ります。 スタッフは皆さんとても親切でした。一流・・・とまではいかないものの客の要望に応えようとしている姿を何度も見ました。 他にはチェックイン前の荷物の預かりOKで、カウンター奥でしっかり管理して頂けました。 カウンターに置いてあった和風居酒屋のサービス券でお得に食事をする事もできました。 また姫路に来ることがあれば利用したいです。

- Verified traveler (6/5): - 直前だったのでかなりお得に宿泊させていただきました。それに加えて朝食と夕食（ロビーにカレーとうどんがある）が込みなので大変お得です。とても頑張っていらっしゃると感じました。 駅からは大通りではなく小道を通るとそれなりの近さでしたが、結構遠いです。姫路城まで５分とありましたが、石垣まで５分、大手門までさらに１０分以上という感じです。回りは盛り場という感じで、土地勘が無かったのでびっくりしました。部屋は、普通のビジネスホテルですが、結構埃が積もっており掃除が行き届いているとは言えない感じです。また、コップに持参の歯ブラシを入れておきましたら、掃除後に予備のトイレットペーパーの中に突っ込まれていました。ちょっとびっくりしました。Wifiは少々ストレスを感じるつながり方でした。

- Michael (6/5): Quiet & pleasant stay - We requested an upgrade from standard double to twin singles. We ended up getting 2 double beds but have to pay a hefty 2850 Yen without any discount. It wasn’t the hotel’s fault but my friend was unhappy with the extra cost. Nevertheless it was the quietest hotel room we have slept so far and the air-conditioning worked perfectly and silently so we ended up with a good sleep. The breakfast however was ordinary and items that ran out wasn’t refilled quick enough
- happytrailsnyc (8/5): Clean, convenient, and free meals! - I was touring Himeji for a few days and needed an inexpensive place to stay. Hotel Abest Humeji fit the bill: clean, modern, free breakfast and dinner, and very close to Himeji-jo and the Himeji JR station. The rooms are small but well equipped wth a fridge, kettle, TV and climate control. Room service was impeccable - amazing for a hotel this inexpensive. The staff was mostly polite but indifferent, only occasionally responding to my Ohayo goazimasu and Konbanwas. Check in/out was fast and easy. I suggest the Hotel Abest for couples or singles. The lack of space may not be great for kids. The beds are nice and firm, but the pillows are neck breakers. I gave up on the pillow and ended up using a sweater to cushion my head. This is pretty much the only major flaw I found here. cheers!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Location - Location is great. Walking distance to Himeji station, shopping area, bus station, so much place to eat. Also close to night life area. There is good variety of breakfast. Also they serve dinner(curry and udon). We stayed with my husband, 2 years old and 10 month old. It’s small room but they put 2 twin bed together to make it big as king size bed. There convieient store around corner. restaurants and bars are close by. Everything you need is in walking distance.
- tyonyc (8/5): Good business hotel - Convenient location. Clean modern facility. Friendly staff. Free Japanese style breakfast and dinner. Only thing is that the window sash is not so sound proof - you hear noise outside, but being a smaller city it’s not that annoying.
- Rainbow4321 (8/5): Good for what it is - My wife, 1.5 year old, and I stayed here while visiting Himeji one night to see the castle. As reviews state, the rooms are a little small, but I've paid more in Tokyo for rooms that were smaller. It was big enough for one night, and it has a fridge. The staff is nice, although the staff after 10pm doesn't speak English. Breakfast isn't glamorous, but I enjoyed it: fish, rice, noodles, red bean balls, rolls, milk, juice, and various Japanese vegetable dishes. One reviewer said the neighborhood wasn't suitable for children, which worried me, but I didn't think that at all. There are a few bars/izakaya around, but in my Japan experience that's normal. Overall I was satisfied with this hotel for a night's stay: it has breakfast, is close to the station, and the walk to the castle isn't too bad.
- N4875DZmarcs (4/5): One night is enough - Advantage is the location at mid-way between station and castle, room small even tiny (you cannot leave your suitcase open !), same with the bathroom, not so clean as used to in Japan, didn't get offer for dinner as other guests wrote in their reviews, breakfast not as shown on hotel flyers/poster : very basic and in the lobby and you have to remove your plate yourself,avoid if possible

- 198reea (8/5): Great breakfast AND dinner - We stayed for 2 nights and were expecting breakfast to be included in the price. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that dinner was also included in the price. Both were simple, well made, delicious buffets, served in the hotel lobby. It's walking distance from the station and the castle. The room was clean and smallish, and the staff spoke very limited English .... but with a bit of pointing at maps, ect we got by.

- Adam (6/5): Budget hotel, smallish room, but clean &convenient - This hotel is very basic. The room was very small. The walls were thing and we could hear some of the other noise from rooms where there were kids. That said, it was a budget hotel. Nothing remarkable, but in a good and clean condition. We stayed here to get easy access to the castle the next morning.
- sonyrajan (6/5): Decent for a night's stay - Stayed here for the night. The hotel is about 8 mins walk from the station. The neighbourhood is not suitable for children, but otherwise convenient. Convenient store and restaurants are plentyful in the neighbourhood. Didnt have the breakfast, though looked quite basic. Internet is available and wifi is also available, as common in Japan, good speeds.
- Alice785 (8/5): Perfect for a brief stop in Himeji - We stayed here for 1 night towards the end of our 16 day trip. The hotel is a 8 minute walk to Himeji station which is really convenient and half way towards Himeji Castle - the main tourist attraction. To our surprise upon arrival, we learned both dinner and breakfast were complimentary for all guests (perhaps we didn't read our booking details properly!). This is definitely not common in Japan so was a bonus for us as we were looking to watch our pennies being close to the end of our trip. The room was a good size and very clean. There's a slight draft by the window but there's heating so wasn't a big issue. When emptying the bath - watch out for possible overflow as the water can come up out of the floor drain and flood the floor quite quickly! To stop this, I had to partially open the plug and let the water out slowly. I gave this hotel 4 stars mainly because the staff weren't as polite as you would find elsewhere in Japan. When we arrived, the only receptionist was talking very loudly on the phone and didn't acknowledge us at all for a few minutes. For a hotel, it just felt unwelcoming and didn't give a good first impression. For the price and location however, I would stay here again if it was a short stay.

- James (8/5): Inexpensive, close to train station. - It is a business hotel, so expect the minimum. Rooms are small but extremely clean. Staff are helpful and friendly, but their English is somewhat lacking.

- Mark (8/5): Small & Suitable - We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful receptionist who spoke very good English. She really wanted to make sure that we had the best visit possible, both at the hotel and surrounding area. Please keep in that this is a "pocket hotel". The rooms are small, yet suitable. If you are looking for room to spread out and not feel crowded, this place is not for you. Yet my wife and I did not find that a problem for we basically needed a place to sleep as we visited this fascinating place. Breakfast was included and was a generous, traditional Japanese affair.

It has coin laundry but one of the dryers did not work, so I spent money and time trying to get my clothes dry. I gold the receptionist and she just laughed, maybe because she did not understand English or because is part of the business.

- SERGUEI (6/5): Small hotel 10 minutes walk from Himeji station - A small hotels (64 rooms on 7 floors) 10 minutes walk from the Himeji railways station. The room was very small but clean. The breakfast was of Japanese style with no big choice. The breakfast room is very tiny. If just to sleep – may be a good solution.
- rejseroland (6/5): Descent rooms - I stayed at the Abest hotel for one night. Room was descent, small and just as we thought it would be in a Japanese hotel. Neighborhood seemed a bit different than the rest of the town, but all in all an ok experience.
- CHONGCHINGSOO (6/5): Short stay tiny bed - Check-in on the 27.3.2015 night. Room located at 4th floor. Bed was tiny small about 6 x 6 feet. Room space small. Water pump in shower very strong and powerful. Clean room. Breakfast served in the lobby.
- Santtu (8/5): Clean business hotel - The hotel was really nice and clean business hotel. Only the lack of Wireless-LAN and the extremely disappointing breakfast where there was practically nothing else left than coffee, tea and just one bread bun for the two of us, and there were still a lot of people coming to eat and there was still plenty of breakfast time left.
- PhilippePRG (6/5): good for a night - The hotel is in a very good location, looks quite new and the room was clean and fine. But there is, as in most japanese hotels, no wifi and the LAN did not work :( Furthermore they did have not have any power socket adapter (which is unsual for a hotel of that size). Breakfast was small and nothing special (western/jap mix), and was consumed in the lobby, which was not the nicest place to eat.
- Julie (6/5): Not High Standard but ok for 1 night - Hotel situated 5mn walking from station which is convenient. It is also close to the castle (15mn walk). The hotel is simple, reltively clean, the room was really small. Careful as there is NO WIFI in this place - not even in the lobby - only ethernet cable for computers available (which is a shame when you only have smartphones...). The breakfast was included (choice of bread, margarine/jam and some Japanese dish) and was just OK - but I would not recommend this place for tourists with high standard expectations because the quality is not so high - well it's ok to spend just one night - all the other customers where single men on business trip ...
- Jodi (8/5): Worth a night but have a few kinks to iron out - Overall we stayed for one night and i would stay again but for only one night. Its a close walk to the train station and to himeji castle so thats convienient. The rooms were clean and pretty standard in size. They offer free diner and breakfast which is helpful. The food for dinner was curry and rice as well as udon soup. Breakfast was a little strange for me (sausage and broccoli, toast, rice, soup, potato salad among other things). Things i did not like. We arrived at 2pm and even though our room was ready they would not let us check in unless we payed extra because check in was at 3pm. Thats just plain ridiculous! The wifi never worked and it was very easy to hear all other happenings outside our room and next door to us. Its a place to sleep for a night and its clean but they could work on a few of the above mentioned things.
- Verified traveler (6/5): OK, friendly staff. - Positives: Overall the staff were excellent and helpful and the free breakfast was generous and tasty. Room was adequate. Negatives: No still water in hotel room or vending machine, minimum bedding no spare pillows and the road on which the hotel was situated was noisy late into the night.
- Kampp (6/5): One night sixth seeing hotel. - A compact cheap hotel with a simple dinner and breakfast. If you come by car you have to pay for the hotel parking and is expensive.
- amcs1983 (8/5): Excellent location - Very close to the train station and to convenience stores. This is ideal to overnight in Himeji as it's only 700m from the castle. The hotel is fairly new and has extremely friendly staff. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed, fridge and water heater. It has the usual Japanese style bathroom with complimentary toiletries. The pillows were a little uncomfortable but not so much we couldn't sleep. Air-con was also a little loud. The booking includes dinner and breakfast. Dinner consisted of rice with a beef curry or noodles. Breakfast included bread, potato salad, salad, battered fish and rice. There was a variety of drinks including fresh orange juice and iced tea. It is served in the lobby and you help yourself. A nice stay - a little more than we'd have liked to pay but it was half- board.
