Guest Reviews
- Kendra (10/5): An art gallery where you feel right at home! - We highly recommend this B&B-- you get the pleasure of staying in both an art gallery and a home, which is beautifully kept by the owner, Stéphane. He offered us invaluable insight on how to make the most of our trip, as well as cooking us exceptional breakfasts each morning. The room we stayed in was comfortable, cozy, and offered the perfect quiet place for us to rest after a day of exploring the region. The stars at night are also truly a marvel out there, with how little light pollution there is. If you can book Tekdiv, do! It is a treasure! This is not a negative, but rather something to consider as you travel-- if you are driving or have rented a car, especially if there are multiple families staying at once, it is best to have a small car with you, as the parking is a tad tight.
- Cédric (10/5): Personalized 2-day stay at Stéphane's B&B - Stéphane is a superhost, he really takes care of you and helps wherever possible. He took the time to advise us on our trip around Thousand Islands and even the rest of Canada. Breakfast was impeccable, freshly made by Stéphane. Because of Stéphane's advice, we were able to discover areas and restaurants in the area we would normally not have discovered on our own.
- Douglas (10/5): Nice place n a quite wooded area, close to all amenities. - Facilities were excellent and service offered everything we could anticipate. Nothing. All was in good order.
- Jessica (10/5): - Artwork, homey vibes, wildflowers and ivy. Driveway was a little rough.
- Null (8/5): Okay stay. - Excellent breakfasts. Clean rooms. Good access to bike trails. Entrance is poor. Hard to tell it’s a b&b. sign at the road is easy to miss. Could not get tv to work.
- David (8/5): -
- Amelia (9/5): Highly recommended if you spend time in the thousand islands area -
- Yongwon (10/5): Very clean, so kind and helpful. Food was excellent. - Very clean, so kind and helpful. Food was excellent.
- Jonathan (9/5): Hope to be back soon! Fantastic hosts! - Host was wonderful. The host-dog was very friendly. Breakfasts were custom made and lovely. It was a very personal, comfortable, and friendly experience. The only thing would've been to have a little better heads-up on what the place was going to be like. It was a little jarring at first, since the "B&B" is really just the upstairs sections of the hosts home.
- Jr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louise (10/5): Wonderful hospitality - This B & B is amazing. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom very nice, the whole place clean. Stephane makes a fabulous breakfast, and accommodated my lactose intolerance with plant-based dairy foods. The living room was nice and when it rained we hung out there. Stephane is very knowledgeable about the area and if asked, will provide suggestions on what to do.
- Michael (10/5): The host is most interesting and very knowledgeable about the 1000 islands - Very interesting decorations
Great location All was good
- Louise (10/5): A relaxing setting and a host that goes above and beyond. - The quiet, country setting. Stephane was not only a fantastic host, but also a very interesting and amiable person. His breakfasts were amazing and bountiful complete with our choice of music to accompany the tasty food and start our day. Stephane shared his vast knowledge of the area and was genuinely interested in making sure we had a good time. Stephane is the definition of hospitality.
- Kathryn (10/5): Wonderful unique B&B, would absolutely stay again - Quiet, great location close to Gananoque, hiking and kayaking. Friendly host and really nice common space and balcony.
- Jonas (10/5): Exceptional - Stephane is an exceptional host. Highly recommended, we would come back anytime we are in the area. We got very good recommendations for food and sightseeing
- Anjula (10/5): - The property is absolutely beautiful. It is very peaceful and quiet. Love the greenery around the house and the breakfast on the deck was amazing. Our room was clean and spacious. The host is very very nice and helps with what to see in the area and where to eat. All his recommendations were excellent. I would go back and stay there again. My husband and I highly recommend this place for ambiance, cleanliness, friendly host, delicious fresh breakfast every morning.
- Patrick (10/5): Lovely host and great place to stay! - A home away from home. Stephane is a beautiful kind host, music-lover and a artist. It was a welcome stay. We stayed two nights and it was very relaxing.
I slept like a baby! From this place you can visit multiple places.
- Shawn (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (8/5): Comfortable Stay! - breakfast was very thoughtfully made, just a bit too sweet one time. too much bread. but everyone is different. I didn't like the large canvases that were hanging on the walls of our room. I didn't appreciate the art style. Wish it was more classy or neutral.
- Karen (10/5): - Great breakfasts...host knows how to prepare some lovely meals. Full kitchen, living room and associated vinyl and books available to guests. Sunny balcony in a peaceful setting.
- Eric (10/5): - Friendly owner, pet friendly and great food.
- Brigitta (10/5): Exceptional - Very good location, wonderful host, the bed was very confortable and the place was clean. Stéphane gave us very good recommendation on what to do nearby. Breakfast was also very delicious! Köszönjük Stéphane! Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Highly recommend and will stay again - Breakfast was delicious differrent each mornings
The location was wonderful, convenient in guiet area. Our room was comfortable and clean
Felt like at home. He gave us lot's of helpful information about the area and attractions and recommended good Restaurants. Nothing could have been better
We loved our stay at B&B Tekdiv
Thank you Stephane
Marta , Rick and our dog Bentley
- Roger (8/5): Very good -
- O'brien (8/5): Very good - The food was good. There were not a large number of amenities near the property.
- Farhad (10/5): - "This place is like a small museum. If you have a taste for art, come here. At first glance, it may seem strange, if you are educated / intellectually cultured you will fall in love with this place. We stayed with our 6-month-old baby, and we loved it. I hope we find more places like Stephan's because the world needs more people like him. Thanks, Stephen."
- Nikolas (10/5): - Very nice home and a very friendly host. The breakfast was amazing and our gluten free request was very well accommodated. We will definitely be staying again!
- Emily (10/5): BEST Airbnb in the 1000 islands!! - It's one of the BEST Airbnb I've stayed in. The place is a very homely, quiet, comfy bed, and the breakfast was DELICIOUS!! Stephane (host) is the most excellent person and very accommodating. When he first arrived, he went through the touristy sites in the area and recommended some great spots. I booked another two nights because I loved it so much. Please note- you will need a vehicle if you stay here. The place is situated in the best spot to access everything (I thought anyway) but yeah, you will need a car to get around. Otherwise it will make it hard. I did walk to a lot of places from the accommodation, and there are a lot of good running/walking tracks nearby. Would 100% recommend staying here. That I couldn't stay longer.
- Stephanie (10/5): Delightful Stay - Quiet property in beautiful forest setting. Nice decor and spacious room. Very personable and accommodating host. Both breakfasts were truly memorable. We had other plans so could not avail ourselves of the host's dinners. Only one of the rooms apparently has an ensuite, so if that is important to you take care when choosing your room.
- Joseph (8/5): Very pleasant - The cleanliness and privacy We especially like the room and breakfast
- Xiaoming (10/5): Thanks the host for hospitality. Will recommend this B&B to my friends. - Location is wonderful, very convenient to go to the key attractions. The house showed an artistic atmosphere due to the paintings and the musics. The breakfasts of 3 days were just delicious.
- Lynn Marie (6/5): - Lots of stairs to get to rooms, so not appropriate for people with mobility issues. Door to room sticks. Door to bathroom sticks. Host did not make eye contact or introduce himself which was disconcerting. Would suggest that wifi password be included in room literature.
- Alexander (10/5): - We like this site - it's the second time we stay there
- Terry (4/5): - the apperance of the property needs to be cleaned up badly.
- Sonal (10/5): The stay made our 10th wedding anniversary celebration more than perfect which i will cherish forever. - Ambience, comfort and hospitality.
- Lane (8/5): I would highly recommend Stephan and his exceptional breakfasts. - Stephan was incredibly helpful and took the time to explain all the local attractions and good places to eat, as well as make us feel comfortable in his home, even making us popcorn to go with the film we decided to watch in his living room. His breakfasts were superb, the best we've ever had, and were varied and delicious every day and he was incredibly kind and accommodating with my dog.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vanessa (10/5): Amazing host 👍🏻 - Stephane was an amazing host. His place was amazing, very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was one of the best breakfasts that I had at a B&B and hotels that I had stayed. For the 2 nights that we stayed, he prepared 2 different types of breakfast 🤤 I recommend 100% Stephane's B&B. Thank you once again, Stephane 👍🏻
- Gaspare (10/5): - Excellent
- Dave (9/5): Excellent location, excellent host - Breakfast was excellent
- Daniel (10/5): Great getaway in a beautiful place - We had a great stay for the weekend, the B&B is close to a lot of great things in the 1000 islands, and the property itself is beautiful and calm. The breakfasts were very very good, with fresh ground coffee on the deck in the warm sunshine. Our host was helpful, with good recommendations about the nearby parks, trails and restaurants, and he made us feel comfortable. We especially appreciated that it was pet friendly and our dog was so happy being there with us.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Mchicha (7/5): lovely weekend with great brekafasts and lovely art and hospitality. - breakfasts were delicious and healthy and made on time.
- Only63 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nathalie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michele (8/5): Very good - Amazing breakfast served on the deck!
- Martin (9/5): Superb - Perfect location to explore the Thousand Island area.
The host was so polite. We enjoyed especially the great breakfast and the possibilty to hear your own music in the big living room. Felt like at home.
- Gadkari (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about this property is fantastic. We thought our stay was too short here and would love to visit back. Stephan is a wonderful host and his delicious, hearty breakfasts were an amazing start to the day. His dog Tessa is super cute and we had a great time interacting with her. Stephan sat down with us to guide us through all the activities we could do in the area which was really helpful in our decision making. The rooms were well lit, clean and spacious and the town of Gananoque is close by for great choices of restaurants/ cafes. We loved our stay at Tekdiv B&B and would 10/10 recommend it to everyone looking for a perfect spot to relax.
- Kendall (10/5): Exceptional - Welcoming, well appointed, and comfortable; location quiet and convenient to local attractions. Breakfasts were outstanding.
- John (6/5): - we got it for two nights but stayed only one night, place is really scary and smells so weird, I'm not sure if the sheets are being changed.
- Corina (10/5): - Wonderful place with a great host and excellent breakfasts as well. Highly recommended.
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional -
- laura (10/5): - Very beautiful area
- Casey (10/5): Exceptional -
- manjusha (10/5): Best B&B you an find in Kingston area. - Place is very cozy and all key attractions are easily accessible from here. The host is very hospitable and gave us very good recommendations about attractions and food in the area. The price is very reasonable for everything this B&B offers. I give 5 stars for everything!
- Robert (10/5): - The rooms are lovely, the food is great, Stephane is a welcoming, informative and fascinating host. In addition we had kayaks on our roof racks and, because the property is secluded and away from main roads, we were able to leave the kayaks on the cars at night without fear of them being stolen. All in all a great place, and we'll be back.
- Dan (10/5): - Beautiful, clean place, and great host
- hans (10/5): - The owner was a fantastic cook, a music aficionado, and a great guy to talk to.
- Matthew (10/5): Home away from home - B&B Tekdiv surpassed all our expectations. We felt right at home from the moment we entered. Stephane was a great host, and like other reviews mentioned, his breakfasts were delicious and generous. He stocks a selection of teas and makes French press coffee from freshly ground coffee beans. We stayed in the Garden room with the private (and spacious) bathroom that includes a soaker tub, and we slept very well. He has a very sweet Rottweiler who isn’t normally allowed in the guest areas, but if you need some cuddle time, he’ll bring her up. And if you’re scuba diving in the area, Stephane has a fill station.
- Pradheep (10/5): - Excellent B&B experience provided by Stephane. Great host and a nice property close to major attractions of the area.
- Tracey (10/5): - B&B Tekdiv is a beautiful property and the breakfast was amazing!
- Hari (10/5): - Amazing
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at B&B Tekdiv. Our room was very comfortable and spacious with a nice balcony. Stephane served a very generous and delicious breakfast each morning served on the balcony. He is very knowledgeable of the area and so willing to share information concerning points of interest.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean facility with comfortable rooms. Owner was friendly, helpful, and made great breakfasts. Only downside was the shared bathrooms. Other than that, it was an excellent stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - .
- Nancy (10/5): - We visited the area to do some late fall kayaking in the Thousand Islands. The host was very welcoming and prepared delicious breakfasts every day. The room and amenities were well laid out and appointed with original art. I would recommend to anyone visiting the area. Lastly, we were able to bring our dog and she was very welcome too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Homey atmosphere. The breakfast is superb! Very nice host.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was great. Clean room , comfy bed , common room was large. Host friendly and kind .
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Steph is an excellent cook! Unfortunately, my husband doesn't care for French Toast.
Neat and tidy.
- Rio (10/5): - It's very close to the border after the bridge. I encourage people who want to visit Thousand Islands National Park on the Canadian side to stay at this place. The view is pretty good and the place is secluded. The host is thoughtful and he made the breakfast for us.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Quiet area - Good breakfast and very clean property. Oversight on our part but didn’t realise it was a shared bathroom .
- Jess (10/5): - Loved our quick stay here & wish we could have stayed longer! The owners were so nice and accommodating. Comfy bed too, which is always appreciated. Will definitely choose to stay here if we're in the area again!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The breakfast was wonderful and the hosts we're friendly and accommodating.
- Josi (10/5): - Stephane is a really nice host. I had good conversations. The gardenview room is spacious with a great bed and a wonderful bathroom. The breakfast was delicious!
- Edward (10/5): One of Canada's hidden treasures. - Stephan and his Mother are vary gracious hosts. Their home was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Just a bit off the main road so the traffic noise doesn't reach. Great breakfast. The nicest B&B we've stayed at.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Breakfast was great. Room was very quiet. Great company.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We did not stay here. The owner gave us the option to leave wit no expenses. My wife was not comfortable staying.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property is lovely and a short distance to Kingston. Our host was very pleasant and accommodating :) Wish we would have had more time to enjoy the place, next time we will stay longer! It is important to note how incredibly clean the place was as well :)
- Dippers (10/5): - Nice hotel close to the lake, clean and comfortable, big surprise is the balcony, could see stars from sky because no light pollution. We like the breakfast provided and coffee taste better than stackbuck
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice b&b with great atmosphere, loved our breakfast on the patio! Bed was squeaky though
- Mike (8/5): - Great B&B, very kind staff/homeowner's, I would definitely recommend this B&B if you're just visiting by the St. Lawrence and needing a place to stay, or if you're just looking for a little cheap getaway close to home.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall great experience. The place is clean and location is very nice. We were the only guests so we did not have to share the washroom. I can see that a somewhat of a bummer. This is my first ever B&B experience so I am not sure how to compare. Since the owner lives close to the common area, I was not sure for how long it was appropriate to watch TV and what is the appropriate volume not to disturb his family.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay! - Very nice setting in the country. Close to the water. Very interesting host.
- Susan (10/5): - B&B Tekdiv is the perfect place to explore the beautiful Thousand Island region. Stephane, the host/owner, is willing to share his knowledge with guests, whether they’re interested in boating, hiking, dining, Canadian wine or even diving. He’s also an amazing chef, who prepares delicious meals to order on the guests’ schedules. (He whipped up our breakfast at 7 AM after serving other guests dinner at 9.) Bilingual (French & English), he patiently allowed me to practice my very rusty French with him. The air conditioned rooms are clean and comfortable, and the great room is filled with books, DVDs and attractive art. We would love to go back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good find - Good find. Near to the border for crossing into the USA. Only stayed one night but would go back and explore more if we are in the area again.
- Yuping (10/5): Great experience - Great experience on this stay . Feel like home.
- Sandra (10/5): Great experience! - A very comfortable and spacious place. Stephan is very friendly and hospitable. Great coffee! It was a terrific experience!
- Damon (10/5): Wonderful place to stay. - What a great place to stay. We had 2 nights here. On arrival, the cottage looks impressive and inviting and it is set away from town so in a very quiet location. Our room was large, very clean and had a balcony which was really nice to sit and relax on. The bed was really comfy and we slept well as it was so quiet and dark. There was a very clean shared bathroom with the other guests and at first I was a little concerned how this would work but it wasn't a problem at all. Breakfast was amazing. Wonderful French press coffee, home made omelette the first morning and the second morning incredible French toast with fresh pineapple and banana and local maple syrup all Seated on the balcony. Our host was very friendly and full of great information re the local area, there is a lovely walk to the river from the B and B plus easy access to bike tracks. Would highly recommend staying here.
- Dan (10/5): - Beautiful little B&B that is very convenient to the 1000 Islands area. The owner was gracious. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The house is full of beautiful artwork, much of it done by the owner. The breakfast was delicious.
- Ed (10/5): perfect - 5 min off of 401, pleasant host (cave and wreck diving instructor), great breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nicely located, close to the Thousand Island Area. Big living and breakfast room with an interesting choice of books and videos. Lovely terrasse. everything clean.
- rachel (8/5): Nice place to stay - It was a beautiful and quiet property. The starry sky was an added beauty. Breakfast was delicious, too.
- n/a (4/5): Isolation - House / cottage is isolated , and feels remote . We did not stay . It simply didn't suit us.
- Leonard (10/5): - nice location
- Christine (10/5): Wonderful accomodations. - We stayed at B&B Tekdiv during our visit to Alex Bay. The home is located on a quiet, wooded setting and is very comfortable. Rooms were very clean and spacious filled with beautiful artwork. A delicious breakfast was also included. Stephane, the proprietor, was very accommodating. He gave us information about the area and brochures of local activities that we may have been interested in. All in all it was a very good stay and I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Our host was very colorful and went out of is way to make his home very enjoyable and even a lot of fun!
- margaret (10/5): Relaxing ending to our trip - Very cozy and relaxing ending to our trip. This B&B was great! It was Very clean and comfortable. The surrounding views from our deck in the bedroom added to the relaxation. Breakfast was wonderful too. This place had everything we needed and more. Highly recommend this place.
- Richard (10/5): Amazing experience at Tekdiv! - It was a fantastic trip to the area and we did have an unique experience with Tekdiv B&B. The owner of the property was very nice to us and prepared the room thoughtfully. The room was really clean and even the tap water tasted sweet looool love the place. Hopefully we could visit again in the summer! Also the breatfast was super tasty!
- CHEW (10/5): Good B&B - Good experience. The owner even try to learn how to prepare Chinese style breakfast for those visitors from China.
- Michael (10/5): Too Quick of a Stop - Only used this place as a convenient place between Montreal and Stratford. Quickly realized that we had treated ourselves out of enjoying a delightful place and owner. If I could do it again, I would plan more time to experiencing this place.
We had to leave early in order to make an afternoon show in Stratford, so didn't get breakfast, but Stephane packed us a bag to eat on the way. That was very thoughtful of him.
