Guest Reviews
- sacks2019 (6/5): Ship Captain - Stayed 4 days. Located in a convenient place in Viña Del Mar. Many bars, Mcdonald, Starbucks etc. In close proximity. Staff is helpful, speaking English. Presently we had food delivered from outside. Nice place.

- Gary (10/5): - Nice hotel choice just couple blocks from ocean. This was a great location for walking to local restaurants and front desk people were very friendly and helpful with our questions. They served a nice breakfast in the morning. They have limited secured parking on site, but there are several surrounding streets where overnight parking was allowed.
- oscar (8/5): - Muy bien
- Jose (8/5): - Very clean and friendly. Very noisy area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): great location for party trip - Great location and luckily got parking available.
Despite the restaurant and bars around playing music until late we had good sleep
- Luis Alberto (10/5): Muy buena experiencia y atencion hermoso Viña del - muy buena experiencia pienso regresar proximamente
- jednasenka (8/5): Great place for small amount of cash - This is modest place, but clean, warm and made with lot of love!
Service is just great! Stuff is frendly and kind! Rooms are nice, nothing fancy, but good for price range! Did not exspect such a good place concerning fact that I did not pick hotel by myself!
Hope to see it again!
- carter (8/5): Nice hotel, nice location - Nice hotel, clean rooms, good breakfast and friendly staff, just a couple blocks from the beach and casino, also many restaurants To walk to.
- Paul (4/5): Stay somewhere - don't risk this place - Give this place a miss unless you are absolutely desperate - staff were all dreadful - no customer service skills - very strange to think that they were all miserable and unpleasant at all times - bathroom was dirty and mouldy - general lack of care in cleanliness - breakfast was basic and rationed.
- sternenkaiser (6/5): Under construction - Hotel management announced the construction work which were going on (new fassade).
Leaving this aside the rooms are small, good beds and cleans bathrooms. Basic requirements fulfilled.
Noisy neighborhood due to club next door. Parking is a problem, best to be arranged in advance with the booking.
- jeremylittle (10/5): Well received at a late and unannounced check in. - We came to Viña del Mar at 10pm last night. We asked our taxi driver to take us to a nice and affordable hotel, he took us here. The young man at the desk spoke little of English but was of a good standard. He was friendly, polite, professional and attentive. He organised us a room, within 5 minutes we had a bed. The room was a good size. The bed comfortable. It was a tad noisy outside, so we shut the double glazed window and the problem was solved. The bathroom was clean and nicely equipped. We had a late night shower and in the morning enjoyed a bath before the 12pm checkout.
Breakfast was very substantial. We had tea cake, fresh fruit, yoghurt, warmed buns, butter, jam, tea and coffee all served. That is more than enough for us.
Thank you Hotel Agora, our first introduction to Viña. Excellent short stay!
- martinpathan (8/5): good location clean and simple - It is not luxury but it is good clean and simple. It is a but dated in some aspects, but because it brightly decorated you don´t really notice. We stayed in a room which had a whirlpool bath, which was nice, although it had clearly seen better days...The room itself was very spacious and had double-glazed windows (an unusual plus point in Chile especially in Winter). The breakfast was not self service which is a weak point (as they serve you a random collection of things and you have no choice). Another weak point are the doors, which are really thin meaning you can hear from outside. Location is really convenient for the area of bars and restaurants near the casino.
- Verified traveler (6/5): great location with future potential - Great neighborhood and location in Vina, nice staff and good breakfast each day. The owners need to invest a little time and money to compete in this upscale area. Management feels ok to enter the room without notice--my husband was in the room, the rest of us had just left and the manager came in, unannounced. Surprising! The biggest offense are the beds...OLD very soft mattresses, and fitted sheets that DO NOT FIT! Personal pet peeve, I hate it when hotel sheets are certain to come off, and those on the twin beds don't even come close to fitting. Also, dust bunnies were rampant and the bathrooms really need some attention and serious clorox bleach time for the corners, grout, radiators, air intake cover for the jetted tub and other...our room had the damp towel from the last bather still hanging on a peg when we checked in--bathrooms are wiped down and toilet bowl with a sanitized banner across it, but little attention to other cleaning. This could be a terrific little hotel with just a little bit more effort, but maybe this is what you get at a medium price in this neighborhood.
- Donald (2/5): Stay away from this creepy place - First of all, this hotel is impossible to find. We drove around and around asking directions but never finding anyone who knew where this street is located. After about an hour, we found someone who directed us to a street numbered 5-1/2. We went to the check in and the smug guy behind the desk told us he received the reservation late from Hotels.com and he had rented our room. I called hotels.com and they confirmed he received the reservation at once. So the scum bad sold our room so he didn't have to pay hotels.com a fee. He didn't offer to help us find another hotel as required by Hotels.com. He just dismissed us. The lobby was filthy.
- Stinkyrules (4/5): Not worth it... - Probably our biggest disappointment when it comes to hotels in Chile. The good things about the hotel is their staff and location. On the negative side, the walls are paper thin, you can hear if anyone takes a shower (not just your neighbour), wifi only works on the main floor and you're located next to several bars/night clubs. If you plan to stay out late on the weekend, the last negative should not impact you, otherwise, be forewarned.
- cleberdantas (8/5): Good place and good localization - The bedroom is large and clean. The bathroom is new and has a good shower. The breakfast needs to be improved because it does not have to much options. The hotel localization is near to the beach and there are a lot of restaurants and coffee shops near by.
- 19jimmy1976 (8/5): Excellent - My wife and I stayed here and we loved it, clean rooms, and very comfortable
We will stay here again when we come back in October as the location is grear, near restaurants and shops. I highly recommend it
- Ana123456789 (8/5): Nice hotel, close to the beach and to the center of town - We stayed in this hotel last August, we found it very clean, comfortable and centrally located. The staff was nice, the rooms small but had everything we needed. The neighborhood was quiet, safe and fun, with lots of restaurants and shops close by. We liked it and would stay there again if we go back to Vina del Mar.
- g0traveler (2/5): One word: Horrible. Do not stay here! - I've stayed in a lot of places - five star to basic hostel - and this place seriously disappoints. We decided to stay here after having a difficult time finding an affordable place to stay in Vina del Mar (we were only there 1/2 a day) and we now wish we had chosen one of the other options. The only "positive" is that the location was okay.
Impressions of the hotel - colorful, staff was semi-helpful. However, we could not get over the following issues.
1) Our room - there were ants EVERYWHERE. Not just a few ants, hundreds of them. The bathroom appeared to have used towels hanging up and it was dirty. The shower looked so gross we chose not to shower there... honestly. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and noise echoed like crazy in the hallways which woke us up.
2) Internet - the one computer in the lobby area was broken. The owner of the hotel had his laptop plugged in (he was sitting at one of the tables) which means the one, broken computer was not plugged in. Every time I went over to try and use it, he would have to unplug his laptop (which he was unhappy about and he made it very visible with his facial expressions), re-plug in the computer, it would take time to boot up, then I would get the same error message over and over. He or the guy at the front desk made NO effort to try and fix the computer, or tell me (until I tried to use it several times throughout the day) that it was broken. The owner was sitting RIGHT there all day and he said nothing, nor was there a "broken" sign on the computer. When we asked where the closest internet cafe was we were sent to a place that was closed, and when we went back he sent us somewhere that was a 15-minute walk away (there had to have been one closer....). Overall, this was frustrating mostly because of the way the staff handled it.
Overall, it was dirty, there were bugs, the beds were uncomfortable, it was loud, the staff was unhelpful, the computer was broken.... I could go on and on...
Please stay somewhere else!
- courcellesqc (6/5): Nice colorful hotel close to the ocean - We got the reference for this hotel from the "Rough Guide" to Chile. We stayed at the Agora 2 nights at the end of November. This is a small hotel on a quiet street close to the seashore with many restaurants around and about a 15 min. walk to the main beaches. The room was simple but large enough and included a small fridge. The hotel itself is very colorful, there's a different pastel color on every floor and some walls have huge paintings reminding Dali. The staff was very friendly and fluent in English. For about 60$ US/night,(it was still off-season) I think it was a very good deal.
