Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was not very clean when I checked in. I was there three days and they didn't come in the room once to do any laundry or service. There was no elevator. I don't mind the exercise, but I had two large bags and was on the 4th floor. That was laborious.
- natthapong (4/5): Hotel with no lift - we had late flight and upon arrival hotel cannot find our reservation and insisted that we Pay them cash for our BOOKING. It took them almost 30 mins to find my booking. Very unprofessional.
- michael (4/5): 14 gbp in downtown HCMC your choice - The alarm bells were ringing when I checked in at 1800 and shown to my room and found it not made up cue big staff bust up. The bathroom smell was unpleasant the floor permanently wet from drips and leaks and the door couldn't fully open as jammed against the sink coming away from the wall. The AC in the room had no temp controller other than an off/on switch. The bedside light not working. The wifi terrible but maybe just that particular room. Other than that staff very friendly.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not good at all - When I got there the first night, they didn't have the room I reserved, so they gave me a different room, which was fine except that I had to transfer rooms the next day and that was a hassle. The water heater in the bathroom of the first room I stayed at didn't work. In the second room, the bathroom's layout was so weird... like when you're taking a dump, your face would be on the sink. The first room I stayed at looked like it wasn't cleaned before I checked in.
- brian (4/5): Not great..... Actually awful. - Location was right in the heart of backpacker HCM, however the room was awful! electric cables coming out of ceiling, damp all over wall, 1 small curtain that didnt cover window, breakfast wasn't edible and had to sit on toilet to take a shower which had live wires protruding from it! on plus side bed was quite comfortable and had aircon.
- GORDON (8/5): Good Bargain Hotel - It's an older hotel that could do with an upgrade but considering the price I have no complaints. Clean, quiet room with toiletries and good wifi included! Also adequate breakfast and very friendly staff. Location good too.
- Verified traveler (4/5): You get what you pay for - Booked a last minute stay here for one night as we needed a place to rest in the day time prior to our night train. Room was ok. Bed was rather big. Basic facilities like fridge, towel, blanket etc were provided. However the aircon was not working and in the mid-year Vietnam heat, it made the stay stuffy and uncomfortable. Stayed in room 206.
- Patrick (8/5): - Service was very friendly.
- Jim Magnier (10/5): excellent - Absolutely perfect for the price. It's right in the heart on the city and the staff were very very nice.
- yew (8/5): Hotel without Lift in Good Location - Hotel in Great Location (Just opposite Republic Club). Big room with air conditioning and fan. Room need to renovate. Good if there's lift.
- Jacki (6/5): Cheap Hotel. Very basic - This place was very cheap, but it was quite dusty and dirty, probably due to roadworks on the street and a building site next door. I expect a certain amount of noise this close to Bui Vien, but my window didn't close properly so that didn't help. Also there was a power outage about midnight that lasted enough time for my room to get stifling hot, and the desk was unmanned and the phone didn't work so I just had to wait it out.
- Don (6/5): Good location - Near Bui Vien and Pham Ngu Lao street. Near many public transportation. But the room near the street side may be noisy at night because of the music from the bar very close.
- Albert (2/5): A hotel with bed bugs and dirty washrooms. - This hotel has bed bugs. If you want to avoid the stress that I went through just by seeing a bed bug on your bed, do not come here. The wash room was leaky and dirty. It makes me cringe just thinking about it.
- Jonquille B (6/5): Affordable and convenient - This hotel was a great price and location. Walking distance to many restaurants, including vegetarian.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place. - Great location. Just around the corner from the main street. This does mean there is a little bit of noise but nothing that stopped us from sleeping. Nice enough hotel. Staff were friendly and let us use a room to shower in after we had checked out. Good place to stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great hotel with a great location - Friendly service and great locatio
- Emma (8/5): - Great location for bars, tours and there's a local bus station 5 mins away too
- t (6/5): - Made the mistake of getting the fan room... My thought that it was for celebrity VIP type of "fan" room.. Brain fart, its a room with just a fan and no AC. So I switched to a room with AC and the AC was probably about to die. I has the setting on 16degC and was still sweating. There were tiny bugs in the toilet paper, and a large roach that gave me a good wakeup call.. I would pay extra to stay at Aristo or elsewhere.
- Charlotte (10/5): Absolutely Fantastic - Undoubtedly the best budget accommodation I've been in. The family running this homestay are incredibly sweet and helpful. We loved it so much we canceled the next leg of our trip to stay here longer.
The rooms are comfortable and clean. You get push bike hire included in your stay and it's a quick ride to town...fantastic location. They gave us plates of fruit and water. Breakfasts were great.
During our stay my boyfriend got sick- the staff called a doctor and organised us an appointment, organised a cab to get us there, then meet us at the doctors to make sure we got there okay and got back okay. They also organised us cooking classes during our stay.
I can not stress enough how lovely and helpful the family running this homestay are.
This homestay has a lovely, comfortable and homey vibe...it feels like staying with old family friends.
- Alan (8/5): Hotel is OK except booking problem - This hotel is quite OK, the problem is that the manager says they do not work with Expedia. I booked a room via Expedia there but they never heard of it. Now I am trying to get the cash-back, no luck so far nor explanation from Expedia
