• Guillaume Quirin (2/5): A eviter, lire évaluation - Piscine calme, jardin agréable Après avoir visité Milan et vu des peintures et sculptures de différentes allégories, nous nous sommes arrêtés à Montebello Lake pour y découvrir l'allégorie de la psychorigidité, mais cette fois, bien en chair avec le propriétaire. Par où commencer ? Le rapport qualité prix peut-être : 158€ la nuit pour une chambre aux matelas cassés, qui sont inclinés, une climatisation à l'odeur nauséabonde, une isolation qui vous permettra de profiter des ronflements du voisin (au sens propre). La piscine froide n'est qu'un détail à ce niveau. A cela ajoutez cette fameuse psychorigidité du prince des lieux : de nombreuses interdictions (jamais vu autant de "règles" dans un lieu de vie, si ce n'est lors de mes classes de collèges), dont l'inébranlable "interdiction de manger". Si vous avez le malheur d'enfreindre cette règle, même si ce n'est qu'un biscuit pour caler une fringale... malheur ! Les foudres de cet implacable Eliott Ness du lac de Côme tomberont sur vous. Il se permettra de vous réprimander ! Imaginez, le non-respect que cela suppose tout de même : un biscuit, des miettes... bref du travail pour ce travailleur de l'ombre ! Aussi, prévoyez des serviettes : 1 par personne pour tout le séjour, pas plus, le temps est à la sobriété après tout. Enfin, l'hôte se permet de passer dans votre chambre en votre absence. Logique me diriez-vous, il doit certainement en profiter pour changer des serviettes ou nettoyer votre espace. Et bien non, nous avons juste remarqué que la chambre avait été visité, sans changement de linges (#sobriété rappelez-vous), le lit n'étant pas refait. Une simple visite de courtoisie qui vous crispera, vous verrez. Côté service client : le fils et la femme devraient gérer cela à 100% car ils savent s'adresser à leurs hôtes et sont adroables.

The hosts were awesome, very helpful and kind, Giacomo was amazing offering suggestions for exploring the areas around Lake Como, dining options and historical sites in the region.The property and grounds were very well maintained. The pool and garden was a great way to wind down after a day of exploring. On our last day we noticed our rental car had a flat tire, the hosts called one of their friends to repair the tire and escorted us to the shop to get it fixed. Thank you for a Great stay ‘Jack’ hope to see you soon

• Siri (10/5): Allt perfekt! - På genomresa med familj med två stora barn. Fantastiskt mottagning av ägaren och den trevliga stämningen genomsyrade besöket. Stort fyrbäddsrum med enkelsängar som var jättesköna. Bra badrum. Fin trädgård och poolen mycket uppskattad. Väldigt tyst. Platsen och utsikten är magisk.
• Verified traveler (4/5): Regler gjorde det surt og besværligt - Værterne var flinke, men værelset meget slidt og ekstrasengen ikke egnet til en voksen. Men det værste var alle reglerne - poolen måtte ikke bruges midt på dagen (så er der ikke megen pointe i den), og selvom stedet lå et godt stykke fra spisesteder, måtte man ikke spise på værelset. Ikke engang i køkkenet. Så det var svært at nyde en ellers smuk beliggenhed og venlige værter

• Verified traveler (8/5): Proper Italian stay - Staff were amazing, super friendly and attentive. Room was average, but the view and the pool were excellent. Air con was wonderful!
• Vosburg (5/5): Passable - We did not have breakfast as we didn't know it was offered. It was a nice, clean place. Kids loved the pool. our a/c leaked and couldn't be repaired while we were there. They did come up and cleaned it up and left a bucket to catch the drips. It was a new unit too. Ceilings were very sloped and my 6ft tall son had to duck often.
• Ignacio (1/5): Bad - Very clean place, some staff were nice. It’s with genuine regret that I have to give this place a rating of 1 due to the unacceptable and aggressive behavior displayed by the senior owner toward myself and my family. What was meant to be a peaceful stay turned into a distressing experience that left us feeling disrespected and unsafe. The senior owner acted in a hostile and inappropriate manner on multiple occasions. Most alarmingly, he verbally attacked me in front of my young child, causing him to cry, and spoke disrespectfully to my parents. His behavior was erratic and confrontational, with no regard for common courtesy or hospitality. In the morning, we were surprised to learn we could not have breakfast unless it had been pre-ordered a day in advance—information that was never communicated or written anywhere. When we attempted to bring in our own food to eat at the designated breakfast area, the owner aggressively prohibited it, again citing an unwritten rule. Later, when we attempted to use the pool during the already limited hours, we were met with more hostility. The staff had to be asked to stop cleaning the pool, and when we began preparing to swim—applying sunscreen to our child and waiting a few minutes—the senior owner appeared suddenly and began shouting at us in an intimidating manner. He got too close to me, shushed me aggressively, and caused my child to cry. This behavior was not only completely unprofessional but deeply unsettling. I strongly recommend that if you still choose to stay at this property, you only interact with the owner’s son or wife, who were more respectful and reasonable. As for the senior owner, I would suggest he step back from guest interactions entirely and perhaps focus on cleaning or property maintenance instead.

• Ronnie (8/5): - A very nice host at this B&B without breakfast. However, we needed a place to crash, the host welcomed us and made sure the kids got into the pool as soon as we arrived. Strict rules which made the stay calm and comfortable, with a great view over the lake. A little hard to find but well worth the effort.

• Mindaugas (7/5): Just a little effort and would make a big difference - Location is beautiful but without a car to get there is a challenge In the morning we were missing welcome a cup of coffee and a croissant. For this we had to go down to town to get it. Also, smoking should be prohibited in the balconies
• Amelia (10/5): Wonderful, definitely recommend! - The whole property was just gorgeous and our host was lovely. Friendly and prompt, it was like staying with family (that you like!). That said, we were given plenty of space and privacy, while knowing a household member was never far (in their own section on the property or available by phone) if we needed something. 10 out of 10 stay. Sharing a bathroom I never ideal, but the fact that you could lock yourself in was great. For non-locals, I would add a sign saying that the fastest way to get the shower hot is to first run the bidet until the water heats up, otherwise they may have a chilly shower!

• Lucy (3/5): As above. Montebello owners need to up there game. Have and amazing asset, but I feel ripped off and although the settin - The location and setting is fantastic. Yes, it is 1km out of the centre but really accessible if you don’t mind walking. There is also an ample car park if driving. I stayed in the single room and to be quite frank, the rate at circa. 100€ per night is a rip off. I’ve have stayed in private rooms in youth hostels with better facilities. The image on booking.com is misrepresented. The basic amenities were lacking- kettle, hairdryer and attention to detail for the price. It was basic and clearly a cheap ikea bed set and wardrobe had been screwed together. It’s a real shame as there is so much opportunity for Montebello is the owners put some effort in and do it up! The owners weren’t also present and offered no advice in respect to my stay. Scanned my passport, showed me my room and left

No tea / coffee facilities and the rooms are as basic as can be. Not even a sofa. Just a couple of mattresses on the floor, a double bed, TV, desk and a single chair. Not suitable for a family of 4

They do offer breakfast by the pool which was a life saver.
• Patricia (6/5): - This is simply stunning bed and breakfast. But that’s it. Mountain View in Lecco. Immaculate place with zero room amenities. A common area for use at certain times and a beautiful pool. Breakfast one hour only, we didn’t take it as it’s served too late. Many rules including no eating in a room with no fridge or coffee maker. 20 min drive to Lecco Centro and 45 mins to como.

• Kul (10/5): We love this place! - This Villa is on the side of the city, is big, with privet parking inside, and beautiful views. Has garden and big swimming pool. Great place to stay! If you are planning to see Lake Como's Villas - great localization!

• Micaela (9/5): Superb - The room was big and comfortable. The views of the city and the lake were amazing. We were traveling without a car but the city center was a 20-minute walk from the B&B, so the location was more than OK. We knew this when we booked, but the only thing that might be a bit uncomfortable is the shared bathroom. Our floor had 3 rooms and one shared bathroom. But, really we pretty much felt we had it all to ourselves. It was well-equipped and clean.

Seriously, the views here are out of this world - you wake up, pull back the curtains, and boom, the lake's right there, looking all kinds of gorgeous with the mist floating over it like something out of a movie. It's super peaceful too, perfect if you're looking to chill and get away from the hustle. And let's talk about the swimming pool – it's awesome! It's like this cool, refreshing escape that's got the best seat in the house for lake views. The water's always sparkling clean, and there's plenty of space to lounge around and soak up the sun. Plus, the whole place is surrounded by nature, so you feel like you're in this little secluded paradise, with trees and greenery everywhere. It's pretty much the perfect spot to kick back and relax.
