• Japanese-Style Townhouse

  Cozy house featuring a Western living room, a garden and a bath made from cypress wood. Rooms have a wooden or tatami (woven-straw) floor, and they're divided by fusuma sliding doors. Guests can warm up at a Japanese irori hearth, and they sleep in traditional futon bedding. Wired internet is available, and there is a fully equipped kitchen. Japanese samui leisure wear, coffee/tea and condiments are provided.

• Matthew (10/5): Perfect Japanese home in Nature - This house is absolutely perfect, stop searching and book this house. You will not regret it. This is the real Japanese home deal, the hosts were amazing. Detailed checking but never disturbed us during our stay. The owner has so much pride in his home and you can tell this home was built with love. Perfect for Children and family. I wish we had stayed longer!!!!!
• Arunesh (10/5): Beautiful Japanese home with rich heritage. Feels like a dream! - Kotorian is a wonderful holiday destination. It was a pleasure meeting you meet Ogawa san and his wonderful wife who made our stay extremely comfortable and memorable. We felt connected with the rich heritage of this 130 year old home and also felt part of Ogawa san’s family. Overall, it was a dreamy stay. Also, The Koi pond and garden which have been designed by Ogawa san will win your heart the moment you step into the property. Since there is a lot of greenery around the house, there were several bugs and insects like spiders and roaches. This is unavoidable as the location of the property is as such but This did not stop us from having a lovely stay.

• TOSHIKO (10/5): - 今回２回目の滞在でした。前回近くに用事がありたまたま見つけたお宿でしたが、絶対また来たいと思うぐらい気に入って、今回は特に用事もなく観光目的でもなくゆっくり滞在したくてリピートしました。タイムスリップしたような昔話に出てくるような昔の建物ですが、立派で、清潔感もあり、各部屋に庵主（管理人さん）の心遣いが感じられ、毎回到着時にあたたかくお出迎えしてくださり、今回は桃や葡萄や和菓子、冷たいおしぼりやお茶までご用意してくださってました。至る所に生花が飾れセンス良くお掃除もとても行き届いていて気持ちよく、お風呂が特に最高です。穴場としてあまり知られたくないぐらいです。またリピートします！

• Keiko (10/5): - We liked everything! A beautifully restored traditional Japanese house, even the smallest, simplest details had been attended to. Very clean, almost spotless. Managed by a lovely older couple, we couldn't have had a more wonderful stay. Plenty of room for a couple or even six people, which we intend to do in the future by bringing our sons & their wives on a future stay. Although there are no nearby restaurants within in walking distance, there is a 7-11 just five minutes away. Plenty of good, ready-to-meal options there (unlike in the US) or you can acquire the ingredients & make your own using their full kitchen which has all the necessary accruements.
• Pascal (10/5): Beautifully designed hideaway to soak up Japanese country life - The house itself is impeccably designed down to the smallest detail. It is both traditional and modern in its own unique way. It boasts a traditional Japanese garden that the owners could easily charge an entrance fee for. At the same time, it is a relaxed country idyll with lots of nature to explore, with chickens, fish and a wealth of natural wildlife. If you are after experiencing traditional Japanese home life, you'll struggle to find a better place (says my Japanese wife). I have never had trouble to think of ways to improve a house. But with Kotorian, I am really struggling. The fridge can be a bit noisy, but that is nitpicking. It really is as close to a perfect vacation home as we have ever had.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - 男女主人超友善的，還送了一盤草莓和和果子給我們享用，帶我們參觀房子。kotorian也太美了，每一個角落都適合拍照，基本上不出去玩，即便一陣天留在家裡也沒關係，因為裡面有一些日本傳統小遊戲，還有棋盤，泡一杯茶坐在走廊望著庭院。真是小橋流水人家啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊
• Verified traveler (10/5): 本当は教えたくない明日香村の古民家のお宿 - 友人との4人旅で2泊しました。写真で見る以上に素敵なお宿でチェックアウトの日が名残り惜しく思いました。古民家の雰囲気はとてもいい感じで、囲炉裏端での食事も良かったです。スーパーが近くにあり食材の調達も問題ありません。一日の滞在ではもったいないので数日の宿泊をお勧めします。とてもよいお宿でした。
