- Alexandre (5/5): The overall experience falls far short of the standard one would expect from a luxury St. Regis - The hotel enjoys an excellent location with luxurious and elegant decor, and transportation is highly convenient. 1. The iconic St. Regis butler service was completely unavailable throughout the stay. There were no service guidelines, no butler service reminder cards, and no introduction to butler amenities in the room. During my two-night stay, none of the brand’s standard butler services were proactively provided. 2. The housekeeping staff left a cleaning cloth behind in the room after turndown service. In addition, tea and coffee sachets were not replenished during the service. 3. Housekeeping supervisor showed a lack of professional boundaries and disturbed the guest’s rest. Even with the Do Not Disturb sign clearly displayed in the room, still made an unsolicited room phone call, which his colleague said he will contact my by cellphone, unnecessarily disrupting our privacy and afternoon rest. He called to apologize for the cleaning cloth left in the room, and promised to send complimentary fruit around 6:00–6:30 p.m. as a gesture of apology. However, when we returned to the room at 10:00 p.m., no fruit had been delivered. We did not care about the gift itself, but this incident clearly reflected serious disorganization and poor internal coordination within the hotel. The next day upon check-out, a front desk staff member rushed out with the gift and delivered it to us right beside our car. 4. A concierge young guy behaved very unprofessionally. He was frequently seen fooling around and chatting casually with female front desk colleagues during working hours. On the evening , a teddy bear decoration at the lobby was knocked over by a child. Instead of stepping forward to straighten it up and tidy up the area, he took out his phone, laughed, and showed the scene to his colleague. As guests, we found this behaviour highly unprofessional and inappropriate for a luxury hotel setting. By contrast, other concierge team members performed their duties excellently and are truly commendable.

- Ella (10/5): Incredibly heartwarming stay, the hotel is large but still manages to deliver personal service. - Incredible service, from the warm welcome from the front desk staff who speak excellent English, friendly housekeeping staff, huge room which was impeccably clean, delicious buffet breakfast spread, complimentary water, tea and coffee served by the butler and the opportunity to join the champagne sabering experience. More could be done to be environmentally-friendly, such as not changing slippers daily and an option for guests to specify not to change bedding/towels.

It was exceptionally quiet and I waited almost half an hour for a gin and tonic. There was only 1 other table in and the service was terrible. There were plenty of staff on but seemed more interested in cleaning an empty table or chatting than serving efficiently. My dessert was shoved down on the table and I had to get up and ask for a spoon myself. Really disappointing given the food was quite nice and not cheap.

- Emile (6/5): Disappointing experience - I booked a suite at the St. Regis, expecting the consistent excellence associated with the brand. Unfortunately, this property falls far short of the standards set by St. Regis hotels in places like Japan or Europe. The experience was downright disappointing. Upon arrival, they attempted to assign me two rooms that reeked unmistakably of cigarette smoke. When I complained, the staff offered bizarre excuses about the air circulation system, as if non-smokers were imagining the stench—especially egregious since we were traveling with a 9-year-old child. Only after persistent complaints did they provide an upgrade. The new room was free of smoke odor, which was the bare minimum, but the extra square footage was irrelevant; I had already booked a suite. Overall, the staff appears junior and inexperienced, delivering service that is mediocre at best. The sharpness, attentiveness, and professionalism one expects from a luxury hotel are conspicuously absent. Breakfast is decent, though basic items like smoked salmon were not proactively offered and had to be specifically requested. Room preparing for the night is minimal. The low point was discovering visible mold around the air conditioning unit—an unforgivable lapse in maintenance for a hotel positioning itself as five-star luxury. In the end, this was a thoroughly disappointing stay that fails to live up to the global reputation and promises of the St. Regis brand.

- Tour52962159266 (10/5): Classic Elegance in Chengdu: The St. Regis Experience - I’d like to start by saying a big thank you to the team for preparing such a lovely pre-birthday room setup for me. The room looked absolutely adorable, and it really made my stay feel special. The hotel is not far from the city center—about a 10–15 minute walk—so it’s quite convenient. The design is elegant in the classic St. Regis style, and the room itself felt very spacious compared to my past stays at The St. Regis Bangkok. While a few small details felt slightly aged, it was very minimal and didn’t affect the overall experience at all. Also I love the Pandas!!! The staff were incredibly kind from the moment I checked in. There was also a Thai intern named Sira who helped take care of me, as many Thai guests stay here. She was truly lovely and acted as a helpful bridge in communicating my requests to the Butler team—especially when I asked for help preparing a bubble bath. That thoughtful service made a big difference. For dining, I tried Social for breakfast, which is a buffet with a good variety of options. However, compared to The St. Regis Bangkok, I’d say the Bangkok breakfast is much better. I also had dinner at Yan Ting—unfortunately the duck was sold out that night, but everything I did try was delicious, and the portions were surprisingly generous. As for The St. Regis Bar, it wasn’t crowded when I visited. The drink made by the bartender was excellent. I only wish I hadn’t gone alone—otherwise I would’ve happily stayed much longer. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and felt it was absolutely worth the price.

Basic room was lovely (some might find it stale, but it was in keeping with the price, in my opinion). Centrally located, polished service …and just a great luxury stay! I enjoyed it and rate St. Regis high as a return to the brand chain!

Upon check-in, the butler team continued the great service—special thanks to Dilys, Ria, and Vicky for being so efficient and attentive. My only minor concern was with some of the room hardware, as the drainage didn’t work well on one of the days. Otherwise, everything was excellent and I truly enjoyed my stay!

- Jtravels222222 (8/5): An average stay - Really enjoyed the ambience of the bar on the 4th Floor (St Regis Bar), their signature Chuan Bloody Mary was quite tasty. Rooms are, however, a bit dated. The shower faucet was loose and fell off and we had to call the engineer to come in and fix it. Meanwhile waiting, I had to get dressed again, feeling cold. Buffet breakfast will also require more manpower, service was a bit slow and food (ie congee) was lukewarm only. Maybe it needed time to heat up again. For a 5 star hotel, we expected slightly more attention to these areas.

- 386eunisl (6/5): Disappointing - They need to improve their housekeeping & customer service. We upgraded our room to suite & when we entered the bathroom there were stain around the toilet bowl floor. I used a paper to wipe and it is yellowish. I requested them to come & clean it. A lady wearing suit came in and straight away tell me it is the floor design next thing to my horror she took a piece of toilet paper dipped the paper into the toilet bowl water and start wiping the floor. She showed it to me that it is clean. I told her that area I already wiped so it is clean. Next my husband used a wet tissue and wiped the other stained area and showed her it is yellowish on the paper. We were so tired from all the travelling and had to spend time explaining these to her. Awhile later they sent another lady and offered us to change to another room as we are staying for 5 nights but the other room is a connecting room hence there is a door beside the bed which I felt uncomfortable hence I had no choice to remain in the first room. Lastly, they brought us a plate of fruits for apologises and a cleaner to mop the floor but I felt it makes it worst cos the whole area is even more dirty. Overall the hotel atmosphere, breakfast & location is good.

- SABRINA (8/5): - The property is a bit far from the city center, but it’s a very elegant hotel with excellent service. The staff is friendly and attentive, the room is comfortable, and the breakfast is truly outstanding. Housekeeping was excellent — the room was always spotless, and they consistently left plenty of bottled water and small treats for us, which was a lovely touch. That said, the hotel could use a light renovation — for example, the bathtub tiles were stained due to age, and the bar area would benefit from a more inviting and modern atmosphere.
- Emma (8/5): Nice hotel with the most comfortable beds! - The most comfortable bed and bedding, really luxurious. Staff are friendly and helpful. We had room service and the burgers were delicious! We were on a non smoking floor but other guests were smoking anyway, probably a China problem rather than the hotel though, but it impacted our otherwise lovely stay.

- margarita12 (9/5): - Очень большой и комфортный номер. Отличные, сытные, разнообразные и очень вкусные завтраки. Наличие открытого и крытого бассейна, теплого джакузи, сауны и хаммама. Открытый бассейн и джакузи можно посетить без шапочки. Вечером принесли комплимент - фрукты и орешки, - это было приятно. На ресепшене говорят по-английски Очень большой размер залога (о котором, правда, известно, и который, впрочем, возвращают моментально). Не понравилось, что выставили единый чек за номер и за залог - хотя, например, нам было бы комфортнее оплатить залог наличными; в общем, можно было предложить гостям разные варианты - а мы после тяжелой дороги не сориентировались. Девушки на ресепшене говорят крайне тихо, приходится напрягаться, чтобы разобрать хоть что-то. Еще не понравилось, что открытый бассейн работает только с 12 часов - следует его открывать раньше, конечно.

The room phone requires pressing ‘0’ for service, but this isn't clearly indicated. I ended up using my mobile to contact the service instead.
- Dr. (10/5): Wonderful hotel!! - Believe it or not, even though I didn’t really enjoy the city of Chengdu, this hotel completely made my stay worthwhile. It is a high-quality hotel with very spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and a beautiful bathroom. While the view wasn’t particularly impressive, the room provided everything I needed. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety and great taste. What impressed me the most, how's, was the staff. They were extremely kind and accommodating, even allowing us a complimentary three-hour late check-out when they realized we needed extra time. This hotel truly saved our trip, turning what could have been a disappointing city visit into a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it! Nothing to mention!

- Fushi (8/5): There are better options - The hotel basically kept what it promised and advertised. The location, the facilities and the room were as expected for a 5 star hotel. My child enjoyed the TV in the bath. The electric curtain shutters came in handy as well. The services of the hotel have left a lot to be desired. I could not tell the differentiating highlights it advertised (butler service) from any other lower ranking hotel, yet the price did stand out. The receptionist was more interested in selling us their higher class rooms when she learned that we had a long flight and would like an early check-in. There was a lack of empathy for its guests. Nevertheless, they did let us check in earlier after we insisted and waited for 1.5 hours. The facilities were good but also dated, the toilet door knob was broken and was only fixed after 2 days.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Customer satisfaction / management issue - Aircon for the first room is malfunction, then we change the room. When we take the new room card, the attitude of the front staff is awful. They hurry us to pack our luggage to move to new room because they want to sell the room to other customer. We wonder they don't care about customers ' feeling and satisfaction. Outdoor temperature is over 40 degrees but they still sell the room without fixing the aircon. It is a management issue. The second room conditions is not good and dated. Room size is huge but not optimise. Waste a lot of space for nothing. Cloth closet is unreasonably small.
