Absolute stunning views from our balcony of Mount Kilabalu, we will miss waking up to that every morning. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Accomodation is basic and rustic but comfortable and clean. The walls between rooms are very thin and if someone is next door or below you can literally hear every word they say.

Die Anlage ist an den Berg gebaut mit viel Grün dazwischen, alles blüht 😃 Bis zum Parkeingang konnte man laufen, ca. 1km. Die Holzhäuser sind sehr hellhörig. Zum Glück hatte ich nur 1 Nacht Nachbarn 😉 Zum Frühstück hätte ich mir etwas Obst gewünscht und vllt. Cerealien oder Haferflocken?

Marie (9/5): - Wonderful views and terrace. This is for the room I had. Each option quite different. Extremely dangerous traffic on the road (high speed, no space for walking) made it impossible/too risky to walk to the park main entrance. Private transport 20-25 MYR one way.

Liz (9/5): Wonderful Views and Comfortable Room - The view from our room was truly stunning and it was a very comfortable and well equipped - we loved sitting on the balcony looking over the mountains and valleys. The location is great close to Mt Kinabalu and was a great place to stay for hiking on the mountain and exploring the local area. Staff weren't particularly helpful. The included breakfast was either plain rice or noodles cooked in palm oil, white bread with what looked like rancid margarine. The tea and coffee were very tepid. They charge if you want anything extra - I had the eggs - not great. We didn't bother eating here on any subsequent morning as the food was so bad.

Benjamin (5/5): Nice location but noisy - Nice view (if your room has a mountain view because I had not...) Kind staff Very noisy, I had bad nights here as dogs fighting and barking all night in front of my room. The ceiling is squeaking and you can hear rats running in it + you can hear anything from what happened in the other rooms (paper fin walls...). Power cut off triggers the emergency light in my room and woke me up in the middle of the night after dogs finally stop fighting. You have to walk 200m from the reception to fill your bottle with only hot water only if there's water left. Overall a bit overpriced for this level of discomfort, I just wanted to spend 2 chill nights before leaving Borneo and at the end it was not relaxing at all. Don't go here if you're a light sleeper. +Almost cold shower. I'm not usually reviewing but that wasn't a good experience, I'm writing this to warn the staff to make improvements .
Christine (9/5): - Das Zimmer war schön und gepflegt. Auch das Bett war bequem. Von unserem Balkon hatten wir eine tolle Aussicht zum Berg Kinabalo. Das Zimmer wurde jeden Tag gemacht. Es war sehr sauber. Es gab keinen Schrank oder Regal, so dass wir unsere Sachen auf dem Boden stapeln mussten.

Omer Safdar (10/5): Excellent close to National Park - One of our favourite stays in Malaysia.We arrivied early and were allowed to leave our bags for a couple hours and then we were unexpectedly upgraded due to wifi issues in the room we booked originally. But the room we got was excellent - comfortable beds, excellent view onto Mt. Kinabalu from the balcony, great facilities and bathroom, and staff were very welcoming. Plus there is a free breakfast which was good as well Nothing - everything was great. Wpuld recommend for anyone looking to stay close to the national park
Recker-widjanarko (9/5): I didnt like the big road from kota kinabulu (only very little nouse in the room) difficult to go to - I liked the old worden house style, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the location, they had gubug to See the mountain, nice view. Die Zimmer sind alt und das Personal wirkte eher etwas lustlos und demotiviert in der Interaktion. Das Frühstück kann man eigentlich nicht Frühstück nennen. Es war einfach eine klare Suppe mit etwas Blättern, drin und lose Nudeln. Lieblos hergerichtet.

You feel like staying in the rainforest because you can hear the chirping of the birds when you sit outside. The room is not sound proof. People on the other room can be heard when they talk. Good cleaning of the room every day with change of bed linen There are quite a few dogs on the territory, some of them are sometimes aggressive, it is scary to walk on the territory in the evening. The administration is useless, saying that the dogs are not theirs. Very poor breakfasts with a delay of opening for at least half an hour. It was damp and cold in our room. Very poor soundproofing. There are not enough shelves in the room, there is no closet. Wi-Fi is often without Internet

Simple breakfast of fried rice and fried rice noodle (bihun) with coffee or tea - enjoyed with other visitors - we got to talk with a family from Singapore and compared notes on our travel. We are Muslim (with my 5 yo girl) so kind of scared of being touched by the friendly dogs. There is hot and cold water provided, but you need to balance them nicely otherwise - ouch!! Too hot or too cold The room was a little bit dusty - I could see the floating dust particles - maybe I was too particular You need to take the steps to certain rooms - it was rainy so might be a bit slippery so be careful - not suitable for disable person

Peter (6/5): Pleasant - They brought a flask of hot water during a power cut. The location meant that insects flocked to the lights The walls were very thin do you could hear other guests. The breakfast was very poor with lukewarm coffee and plain toast

Manuel (7/5): Good - Small garden & terrace, very friendly staff at the restaurant, hot shower and spacious bathroom Moldy smell in the room Although our bed was made and towels were changed each day, the floor was dirty from the first day on Breakfast: both noodles and fried rice were super oily and didn't taste like too much, toast with peanut butter was ok, but why not offer fruit? Or provide some soy sauce & chili sauce or vegetables to get some flavor. It's a 20 minute walk to the national park along a fairly busy road. Charging 25RM for the 2 minute ride with a shuttle is simply greedy.

Thomas (6/5): Pleasant - Mile 36 Lodge was close to the National Park and for us there were interesting birds and animals in the gardens; parking was good. Our room looked better in the advertising but was adequate for our needs. Our neighbours smoked on the shared balcony. The complimentary breakfast was very basic, There were dogs on the property which was OK but their mess was not cleaned up and we had to be careful while walking around.

Syl (8/5): Happy with our stay! - We had the whole house to ourselves with a family of 7 adults. The view of the mountain was right outside our doorstep. Easy to find this place as its right beside the main road, no steep hills climb needed. As Willie's guesthouse (and Willie's cottage) is on higher ground, we had an amazing view of the mountain, sunset and treated to a sky full of stars at night. The accommodation is decent, clean and has all the necessities. We were also able to borrow board games and played at the outdoors patio, enjoying the cool breeze and fresh air. There are also friendly neighborhood dogs keeping you company. The breakfast is simple, with a nice view of the surrounding garden and lush greens. If you're a light sleeper, the sounds of passing cars might be a distraction

Jennifer (10/5): Great view - We initially went for the cheapest budget room, but ended up upgrading on arrival - which I’d strongly recommend, it’s a small difference in price but huge difference in the room! Staff were lovely, location was great for the national park, fantastic view from the balcony and good breakfast
Nor (6/5): Just ok - Room ok, breakfast have to add on nasi lemak and kueh mueh. Only not so comfortable a lot dog and noisy bucking.
