Breakfast was nice The heater in my (and in my friends' room) bathroom could not be turned off, which led to it being extremely hot in the room - having the windows open didn't help enough so I grabbed the fan they had available.

Our stay was unfortunately disappointing due to several issues with both service and housekeeping. When we returned to the hotel after attending a wedding, our key cards were not working. We went to get them fixed, but the staff member behind the bar was quite rude and chose to continue serving others rather than assist us, which was frustrating after a long day. The experience didn’t improve the next morning at breakfast. Despite the room being empty, when we sat down we were met with a sarcastic comment from a staff member, which felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. On a more positive note, we had booked three rooms and two of them were ready before we arrived, which we appreciated. However, the third room had clearly not been properly cleaned, as there were still towels left on the floor from the previous guest. Overall, while there were a couple of positives, the poor customer service and lack of attention to detail significantly impacted our stay.

Breakfast was also good with the options of cereal or bread from a buffet as well as cooked breakfast to order. The breakfast menu suggested fruit would be available like a buffet but there wasn't any. Paid £227 for 2 nights while our friend paid £98 for one night and their room was much, much bigger. Key cards also stopped working occasionally.

Kerry (9/5): Lovely stay, great sized rooms, fantastic breakfast and staff. - This hotel was great for our large group- we had three rooms for 6 adults and 5 children. Rooms were very spacious- exceeded expectations. All of our rooms where located next to each other as requested- which really helped as we had young children. The staff were lovely- breakfast was fantastic. Would love to have tried the restaurant for lunch/evening meal (unfortunately we only spent the one night as we were in New Cummnock for a wedding.) Rooms were clean. Definitely would return to this hotel and recommend to friends. Only thing I could recommend I would like differently was perhaps the temperature- rooms/hallways were extremely warm- making it a little uncomfortable at some points to sleep. I mostly feel cold so this was unusual for me to feel too warm. Didn't put me off enough though that I wouldn't stay again.

Duncan (9/5): Just wish it wasn’t a two hour drive away, recommend it to anyone visiting the area, or as a great place to eat if passi - Modern, but homely. Room comfortable and good size en-suite had the most commodious walk in shower that I’ve ever seen ( could hold a party in) With shower and separate spray . The dinner very reasonably priced was magnificent in its quality and portions. Possibly the best eating experience ever !

Patrycja (7/5): - Helpful staff as we were able to check in earlier, and it was no problem to arrange the taxi. Spacious room. Tasty breakfast. See the photos. The room is outdated and needs a good clean. Double glazed windows would be great also, as street noises disturb sleep. Mattress on the additional bed was well used. The hotel's carpet on a staircase saw a better day.

Donna (4/5): Great staff. Adequate room met our needs unfortunately let down by other guests. - The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was lovely. The room was adequate for what we needed. Unfortunately in one of the rooms someone was smoking let’s say a strong smelling herb which was so strong it came right through the corridors and into our room. We had our 8 year old granddaughter with us so it wasn’t acceptable. There were cleaning staff in the corridors who didn’t seem to be phased by the smell so my assumption was it’s the norm. As we were just staying for one night and were out most of the night we didn’t want to cause a fuss but it was still there in the morning.

Ian (8/5): Good relaxing few days away. - Excellent breakfast provided and the choice of meals in the restaurant in the evening was extensive with very tasty dishes. Would’ve liked king sized beds,but that’s just being picky.
Matthew (10/5): - we had room no12 omg it was huge and the bed was comfortable. We have stayed in quite a few hotel rooms but not like this. The staff were lovely and polite and there was a nice choice on the evening menu and the included breakfast was good also a variety of things to choose from. 😊 The area wasn't great but we wasn't there to look around we was just visiting family. There was a lift to upper floors if needed but we used the stairs and noticed the well worn carpets on the stairs could do with updating.
Catherine (7/5): A night in Cumnock - Centre of town big room and bathroom comfy bed V nice poached eggs and excellent smoked salmon! And a good portion of gluten free toast. No marmalade! And the furnishings really lack any character or individuality. You could be absolutely anywhere in a medium rating modern hotel, which was a shame as this is such an historical interesting part of Scotland. When I arrived I was asked if I wanted to eat ik the evening in the bar. The music in the bar was playing so loud I knew I would hate it! Music was much quieter in the morning at breakfast. Parking wasn't great. I managed to squeeze in but no boxes painted on the parking area meant there was some outrageously antisocial parking - and it could have been organised so much better!
