Guest Reviews
- Sharon (9/5): First time in Antigua the hotel didn’t disappoint - Location was amazing and staff friendly and helpful
- Mark (10/5): Huge well-appointed room right on the bay. - This place as awesome! The room was huge! It has a very large kitchen, which we did not use other than making coffee. Right on the bay with a lovely, covered porch for sitting and enjoying morning coffee or after dinner beverages. you're looking out over massive sailboats and half billion-dollar yachts.
The included breakfast was good but after a few days of the same thing could have used a different selection of items. We did not eat any other meals there as there are quite a few less expensive options within short walking distant. The Lobster Hut was one of my best meals on the island.
There is really no beach so we walked up the hill then down the other side to Pigeon Point Beach. It was nice and there is a restaurant there that we did not try.. We had a car and drove to Galleon beach, where we went snorkeling from the beach on the far-left end. ( we had our own gear but there is an outfit that will do a tour with sea scooters.
If you go to the Sunday party at Shirley heights, I would recommend being there before 4:30 if you wish to geta seat at a picnic table. Cool thing with steel drums, and band . Lines for food and drinks are super long. Tons of people.
- Janet (10/5): Fabulous location, views and staff - Amazing location and incredibly friendly and helpful staff Nothing, it was fabulous!
- Vikki (9/5): -
- David (10/5): Excellent. Will definitely go again - Clean, spacious, great restaurant in top position Nothing to dislike
- KHALED (10/5): -
- Shane (4/5): - Rooms are for folks coming in off of boats Rooms are dark and cold, “prison chic” is how we described them.
- Charlotte (5/5): Nice but very loud -
- Dan (8/5): We enjoyed our stay. The location by the harbour is fantastic, and we enjoyed many meals sitting at the restaurant and - A great location. We found the rooms a little dark, in terms of both natural and artificial light. In terms of artificial light, that is probably something that can be easily fixed.
- Karen (5/5): Good but could have been great - Everything lovely except the building g works noise
Lack of atmosphere See above
- TDW90 (8/5): Short Family get away. - The staff were really friendly and attentive, we loved Rafi the waitress, she went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. I would recommend this place.
- roger (9/5): -
- Ken (9/5): A very relaxing break in a beautiful setting. - Beautiful location. Fantastic food at the restaurant. Friendly staff.
- Daniel (8/5): Lovely hotel in an amazing location in English Harbour Town - Southpoint gave us a lovely start to our Honeymoon in Antigua. From the moment we arrived the staff were excellent, providing us with a free bottle of wine to start our honeymoon. The room was massive with a huge balcony and a fully equipped fridge. The view from our balcony looking over the English Harbour bay was excellent. We loved the pool area with a beautiful setting overlooking the bay.
The hotel is also excellently situated, just a 5 minute walk from the main town, and a 5 minute walk to Pigeon Beach and to Nelson’s Dockyard for some sightseeing.
Overall would rate this hotel very highly and definitely would recommend to anyone coming to Antigua. We found that whilst the room was very large and spacious, and had excellent facilities such as a big balcony and equipped kitchen, the decor was very very bland. It made the room feel quite dark and dated. I think the place could benefit from a freshing up and some more colourful decor.
It’s also worth noting that we travelled in June and English Harbour Town was completely dead. We struggled to find restaurants and bars with any life in them and often were one of the only ones in the restaurant. This is not the hotels fault but worth noting if considering coming in June.
- Donna (9/5): relaxing and stress free stay with the most helpful and friendly staff - Great breakfast amazing location with views of the harbour and beyond would have liked a gym onsite
- Olivier (9/5): We had a very enjoyable stay at this establishment, and I highly recommend it. - The location of the hotel suited us perfectly, the suite was spacious and well-equipped, and the staff were genuinely very attentive. The air conditioning lacks power. Thankfully, the ceiling fans compensate somewhat, but given the hotel's standard and its Caribbean location, a much more effective air conditioning system would be necessary.
- L (10/5): - Stunning place. close to the centre but away from it all. Stunning views from rooms. Rooms large, well equipped and v comfortable
- Mary (9/5): Superb -
- Hwest (10/5): Most amazing spot in English Harbor, Antigua - This place is beautiful and the location is amazing! What a wonderful, helpful, hospitable staff too!!
- Dale (10/5): - Schedule transportation to and from the airport through South Point ... much nicer and better priced than airport shuttle.
- Carole (9/5): Will come back - The service, kindness of staff, the manager.
The food excellent
All wonderful Nothing
- Sarah (10/5): - Everyone was very accommodating and Pleasant! Hope to return soon.
- Peter (10/5): -
Staff was well trained and very pleasant. Gabriel the sushi chef worked extremely hard.
- Henry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (10/5): - South Point has a great position over looking the harbour & is a 20 minute walk ( or 5 minute cab) to pigeon beach which is beautiful (bring your trainers) The whole Island is unspoilt & the people are so lovely! We are definitely going back see you soon South Point!
- Rupert (10/5): Brilliant, relaxing and perfectly looked after by excellent staff. - The service from all the staff was impeccable. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make us feel welcome and nothing was a problem for them. They were charming, always smiling and very professional. The room was very spacious and comfortable; the pool was small but lovely; the view over the marina, whilst not the beachside tropical paradise one might have hoped for, was nevertheless interetsing to watch and still great. The breakfasts were superb and the dinner we had one night also excellent. The location, within very easy walking distance of Nelson's Dockyard, numerous restaurants and bars, the vibrant beach of Pigeon Point, was ideal. In summary, the hotel was exceptional. Very minor points in what is overall an excellent hotel: the carpark could do with a resurface as it slightly taints the rest of the well-kept hotel grounds and buildings; it would have been nice to have poolside service for drinks/snacks. Despite these I would highly recommend anyone to stay here.
- Claire (9/5): A wonderful holiday in Antigua in a great hotel with a fantastic location - We chose to stay at South Point to enjoy the atmosphere and restaurants at English Harbour, Nelson’s Dock Yard and also Pigeon Point Beach, we were not disappointed and had a wonderful stay. The room was very spacious with self catering facilities, plenty of cupboards, a walk in wardrobe and a balcony looking onto the beautiful yachts in Falmouth Harbour. Straight opposite was a little beach and the hotel pool which were never too crowded and always had some shade. Wonderful staff and good breakfast helped to make our stay very enjoyable and relaxing. The TV channels were limited and although plenty of furniture the sofas and sun beds were rather hard.
- David (9/5): Excellent exclusive accommodation - Superb suite with plenty of room. Excellent location for restaurants and bars in walking distance
- Molly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Morgan (8/5): Great location to get involved in the finish of the world’s toughest row 2025 - Great staff The road leading to it
- ANDREW (10/5): - Wonderful! Polite, charming and helpful staff added to the unique position, looking out onto Falmouth Harbour, made for a brilliant 3 week holiday. Always something to see for anyone with an interest in maritime activities. Room was large with lots of storage and a covered outside area.
- Tanesha (10/5): - Property was great, staff made you feel welcome. The views were amazing
- Mary (10/5): - Our stay was amazing. Beautiful property. Clean. Housekeeping was friendly and thorough. Close proximity to other restaurants a supermarket and spa. The staff overall was very nice and super accommodating. I would stay there again. The only thing is the restaurant onsite is overpriced and the wifi went out a few times. We really enjoyed our stay at South Point.
- Shari (10/5): - Wow!! This property exceeded our expectations. The photos do little justice… Location being right on the Marina… views of a mega yatch, turquoise waters…The staff were very welcoming, the suite is so spacious. The design, amenities, layout was exceptional. Let’s not forget about the dining experience. The food was prepared with love, the options on the menu were exquisite, everyone was pleased with their selection. My family stayed in two suites with interconnecting doors… best idea ever. Although the time we visited (July 18-21) is considered “off season”, I don’t think we lacked/missed out on much of the offerings at this property. It was quiet, yet still we saw other guests during our time spent here. Only thing we regret is that the stay was definitely too short.
- Mohammad (8/5): Very nice and comfortable stay - Very clean and comfortable Breakfast could have been better
- Satpal (8/5): Very good -
- Nouri (10/5): The room was spacious and clean, the staff were very nice and helpful, the food excellent, and the view was spectacular. - Everything Nothing
- Darryl (10/5): First class boutique hotel on the harbour............perfection!! - Incredible views and excellent food as well!
- Jeffrey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marjorie (10/5): - I had a beautiful time at South Point Antigua. The service was perfect, from the moment that I arrived until the moment that I left. The service was awesome, and everyone was so find and thoughtful, always there to help whenever I needed.
The food at the restaurant was fresh and tasty. The views were breathtaking and the property was quite peaceful. If I ever go back, I will definitely visit again.
- Alicia (10/5): Fantastic location, great beach pigeon point just up the road. Lots of places to eat & drink within walking distance - The room space & the location.
Staff were really helpful too Nothing.
- Elizabeth M (8/5): - South Point was very very clean and the staff were excellent and friendly. We loved the kayaks you could borrow and would kayak to Pigeon Point Beach almost every day to swim. The pool was also very clean and nice on hot days. We also loved looking for fish and crabs every morning on the bridged walkway to the restaurant to get breakfast. They also have excellent iced coffees!! There were only a couple of issues I would update. The lighting in the rooms was very bad. You could barely see into the bathroom mirror, I had to use my phone flashlight. I little more lighting by the mirrors would be great. The other issue was the bed. I think it might be time for some new mattresses. Although very clean, I could feel the lump in the middle and the dips on the sides. My other suggestion would be to offer hot oatmeal as a breakfast choice for people who are vegetarian. Overall, we had a great stay there and would recommend.
- Jeffrey (9/5): relaxing great staff great views lovely room great location you can make it what you like... - Breakfast was great wide range It seems they should give you more than one bag of coffee. You must buy and just two small bottles of water daily? Not sure but very tight relaxing great staff great views lovely room great location
- Linda (9/5): Another great stay at South Point - Wonderful location in Falmouth Harbour within walking distance of great bars and restaurants and Catherine’s beach. Spacious apartment style room with furnished balcony and superb views over the harbour. Excellent staff and housekeeping. Great breakfast included. Lovely pool. It was very noisy at times compared to previous visits (busy week with Caribbean 600 yacht race) especially on Sunday with Rose promotion in restaurant. DJ was ridiculously loud for several hours. One large group with noisy children dominated pool some afternoons (not hotels fault).
- Joanne (8/5): Fabulous location, modern large apartment and lovely pool - Friendly greet, location superb, room size very large, clean & daily service excellent, comfy bed, modern feel to the apartment, large dressing area and bathroom. Loved the pool (hardly anyone there!). Whilst room large, with the only windows at the front felt dark in the room, lighting bit poor, our air-con didn't work properly but did get fixed eventually. Breakfast was ok, same every day although could order a choice of cooked food.
- Jane (10/5): - Great stay
- Janet (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Had a very nice stay at Southpoint. The room was spacious, cleaned very well daily, terrific breakfasts and nice, friendly and helpful staff. Close to restaurants and fun to watch the super yachts pull in and out. The beach is very good but is about a mile away up and down hills so a car is probably useful unless you want to walk in the heat. We paid $10 each way for a taxi.
- Mr Christopher (10/5): Antigua chill out break - Delightful hotel overlooking Falmouth harbour, ideal for chill out break in the sun. Hotel staff extremely polite, friendly and helpful
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (9/5): Luxury. Highly recommend - Spotlessly clean, spacious, amazing views and a very comfortable bed I liked everything
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grace (9/5): perfect location for our stay during the Caribbean 600 yacht race - location nothing
- Ornan (10/5): - One of the highlights of my stay are the ladies at the front desk, especially Clarice and Marika…. Always pleasant and friendly
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional - location. view. large comfortable room. friendly staff gym was not available
- Philip (9/5): Superb -
- Nick (6/5): good, however there are better in Antigua - great location and modern. good serviced apartments bit soleless…
pool area was tied. beech full of cement and house bricks. kayaks etc. wry old and worn.
restaurant could be epic, however music was pure awful
- Anna (10/5): such wonderful welcoming staff and the most amazing location - amazing staff, spectacular views, great location we liked everything
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent The lighting in the room
- Rocio (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (9/5): Superb - spacious, well equipped, poor lighting especially in the bath room area
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Great Lighting in the bathroom was poor. Sound from air con motors running all night next to bedroom. Mosquitoes were very bad.
- Tonya (8/5): Staff were wonderful, food exceptional, property (penthouse) was fab! property needs to invest in a better Wi-Fi service - staff were amazing, couldn’t do enough for you, nothing was too much to ask. Wi-Fi was awful, dropped out frequently and wasn’t consistent throughout the property.
- Anonymous (4/5): Disappointing -
- Tyrek (10/5): - Amazing staff, property looks just like the pictures and a great location for your needs or tourism, excursion, beaches and some restaurant’s.
And it’s a 30-40 min drive from the airport
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brittany (10/5): - If was a lovely hidden gem right in the heart of the Marina. There’s a gorgeous beach further up the road and one of the most stunning sunsets I have ever seen. Very close to Shirley Heights and the breakfast is tasty and free. Divine banana bread. I would go back next week if I could.
- Alice (10/5): - Food and staff were lovely
- Melonie (10/5): - Wonderful stay, lovely staff, delicious food, great ambience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Had a great time at South Point!! The staff was amazing, the food was delicious. The staff did a great job daily cleaning the room. Everything was very Covid safe. Every view from the hote is like a postcard. Truly heaven. HOWEVER- make sure you plan on getting a negative Covid test to return back home!! I was not aware we needed one, and we had to scramble to get one the day we were leaving. They also are around $150/pp US dollars so be prepared!
- Stephen (8/5): Good overall - Lovely hotel, but a few things to be improved for the price like only a tiny coffee at breakfast and no shade by the pool and very slow food service. Overall was nice but only 3.5/5 given the price
- Toby (8/5): - Overall great place to stay, but pricey.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location. Prime location to the harbor. Easy access to many restaurants. Great property. Ideal to relax with family or friends.
- MK (10/5): - Very nice property with great views of the harbour and within walking distance of shops and restaurants.
- Eric (8/5): Beautiful resort in Antigua - This is a gorgeous resort that is clean and modern. We felt very safe there. The young ladies at the front desk as well as the maintenance guy were simply superb. The down side is that we did not know it was "off" season so the hotel did not have an open restaurant and the breakfast the first few days was not very good. Overall I would stay there again keeping in mind the season as even the local restaurants were either closed or on limited hours.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Like every thing only issue It was off season so the restaurant was closed all and all me and family had a great time
- Andrew (10/5): Superb! - This has to be one of the most spectacular hotels I have ever stayed in. Four of us shared the Penthouse. It was an exceptional room with everything you could require including a huge balcony with views over Falmouth Harbour. It was at the end of the season and the restaurant had closed the day before (31st August) but we didn’t mind too much as we had specifically gone on the Sunday to go to Shirley Heights (also a ‘not to be missed sight’) but the staff were absolutely professional and couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely be back that’s for sure!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great property, lovely staff.
Nice pool at hotel. Room huge with kitchen facilities.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel facilities, service could improve - Hotel facilities were nice, service could improve. Hotel seemed to be short on staff, no pool or beach service. Room was very clean and modern.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This property was modern, beautiful and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again in my next visit.
- Sharon (10/5): 4 night stay overlooking superyachts - Great position
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent location, beautiful surrroundings and extremely helpful staff! Thank you!
- Gemma (10/5): Fantastic Stay - The hotel is immaculate, the staff are very friendly and the service was fantastic. I would love to stay at South Point again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our stay it was so nice, beautiful place amazing views, quiet, very clean and modern inside, full kitchen, near by a few restaurants and supermarkets. Good service. Car rental is available few steps away, you can get a car basic for $55 dollars per day including insurance. I highly recommend to to get a car as taxis are very very expensive. Airport fair to the hotel is $40- $50 USD.
- Shonda (10/5): - We stayed here on 6/11-6/16/18 with our 3 teenage girls. We all loved it. The views of the marina and boats were so tranquil. The penthouse was worth every dime! The staff was great, the food was delicious at the restaurant albeit pricey. Kia at the front desk even researched vegan restaurants for my family. Can't say enough good things about this facility!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely spacious apartments with wonderful view of harbour. Lovely small pool with sunbathing area & access to small but private beach. Use of kayaks & paddleboards too. Lovely breakfast, again - beautiful setting. Within walking distance of the beautiful Pigeon Beach and Catheine's cafe. Also close to lots of great restaurants & to Nelson's dockyard.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great stay except the mosquitoes - Hotel was nice but was badly bitten by mosquitoes in the room.
Took a number of days a chasing to resolve the lack of internet in the room.
Surrounding area great for restaurants and bars.
Breakfast lovely but service very slow.
- Karen (8/5): - Soutnt Hotel - friendly staff willing to make your stay comfortable. View of harbour great. If you want a quiet atmosphere during the month of August, South Point is the place to be and the beach is a ten minute walk from the hotel.
- Samuel (10/5): Beautiful Top Notch Hotel - Excellent property. Very friendly and kind staff. Rooms are very spacious and clean. House keeping is always on point. They clean multiple times in the day if you need.
The views from this hotel are breathtaking. Food is excellent too. Great variety and the taste is great!! The restaurant sits on the waterfront and has a scenic view. Absolutely beautiful hotel and high end compared to others in the area.
The staff make you feel very welcome and at home.
Ask for rooms on the second floor because the view is simple amazing!!!
Guys best hotel in English harbour and south of the island.
Visit trappas restaurant while you're there. Food is amazing!!!
- Robin (10/5): highly recommend this place very very good. - Lovely hotel, don't often leave reviews but would highly recommend staff and rooms lovely. Hotel only couple of years old and very well looked after.
- Andrew (10/5): - Excellent
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great experience with an amazing view. - We were only there for two days before travelling on to Nevis but was a great spot to break up a long journey.
- Pilar (10/5): Nice view, in front of the beach - I was there for a week, everything was perfect! Nice view, nice people!!
In front of the beach.
The breakfast was very good and complete, people was so nice.
The room is very big and confortable!!
The hotel's pier is excelent, the kids enjoyed a lot and made snorkel, they found animals
- Italiano (6/5): Lovely rooms, amazing staff but over priced - The staff here are very nice. So welcoming and friendly. The rooms are very nice too. Can be noisy as very close to harbour and windows have no glass so not much sound proofing. Also note fitness centre is still not built. Just concrete at the moment. It was supposed to be finished December 2014, now not until Summer 2015. Ocassional noisy building works is still going on. Phone ahead to see if the work is done before you book as it looks much like it moves several times.
- David (10/5): Harbor View - Hotel is new; rooms are clean, modern with full kitchens. Staff is very attentive to guests needs. This is a quiet property and not a party hotel. If you like boats you are going to love the views of the harbor with big motor yachts and sailboats right in front of the property. The restaurant was not open yet but should be open by end of January.
I would go back again!
