- Anthony M (8/5): You get what you pay for - A convenient base for what I needed. Staff were super friendly and helpful. It’s fairly dated for design and decor but that possibly reflects in the price. The bathroom is about as compact as you can get and the shower is small - I kept knocking the water mixer to “off” while showering. Quiet considering its location. Duvet incredibly heavy for the current weather. No fridge, but plenty of ice available .

- Carolyn (8/5): 2 night stay - Adequate for what I needed. Very small room even smaller bathroom - thank goodness I was alone. Bed was comfortable and the room was surprising quiet considering it was overlooking the carpark and very close to reception/ breakfast area. Very dated decor. Could do with a facelift. Shower has loads of hot water and good pressure but pees all over the bathroom floor because put poor door seal. Loved the small outdoor area by the pool - has a lovely view out over centurion with a great breeze. Didn’t eat any food there or use any other facilities so can’t comment on those . Enjoyed unlimited access to the ice machine - critical as the room has no fridge .

- Senovia (2/5): Terribly unclean and unhygienic - Initial room provided 240, aircon was non functional. We were asked to moved to 153 and TV was not working. Cables exposed. The shower was filthy to say the least as had to place the bath mat in the shower to shower. The shower floor was in a terrible state like it had not been clean for ages. The linen was mouldy smelling. The room was stuffy like damp smell. I have never been so appalled by the state of a room - and clhg should really look into the review of this road lodge. Don’t operate a hotel if the bare minimum cannot be done. Cleanliness is paramount! I had intentions prior to my stay to rebook a few more nights but the condition completely changed my mind.

The service is amazing, the staff is friendly and accommodative, pool is clean, the rooms are also very neat and clean , accessibility is just perfect. My only concern is there was no toilet blush, which throw me off a bit.

If the lack of tissues in the room is linked to COVID, the hotel could opt for smaller packets or indivialised supplies of tissues.

- Rob (4/5): Bad Breakfast - The breakfast was very disappointing. How can you serve chicken sausage with scrambled egg. That's like eating the mom and the child. They served pork assuages and they were raw and smelled off. I did complain to the desk and hoped that things would be different on my return trip but nothing had changed. Breakfast is important to me as I have a very busy schedule when I travel, I will definitely be looking fr a more suitable accommodation with better food. Also, even after advertising that cold beer could be purchased from reception, on none of my visits has there been any available.
- Clarissa (6/5): Tiny room no view, not worth the money - The room was super tiny, there was no space to move around as the bed took up most of the space. I asked for 2 twin beds and got a double bed, but honestly 2 single beds wouldn't have fit in there. Toilet with a shower, clean but nothing else to mention. No sample shampoo or amenities. 2 servings of coffee available. No breakfast included with the price of R800 per night. Beautiful swimming pool at reception, but view of concrete buildings from the room. Definitely not worth the visit.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Very poor for “Hotel Quality” - Only good thing was the cleanliness, service was mediocre (few times I waited for 10mins to get helped), breakfast is pricey(cheaper to buy breakfast at Steers across the road), no restaurant as stated on the website so you have to order food from there list of takeout places and still get charged R15 for delivery when Steers is literally across the road or a decent Restaurant (Rapsody’s) is also across the road. The beds are uncomfortable 😣 woke up every morning with back ache due to the mattress sinking in, I’m 1.8m 72kg so it shouldn’t have sunk in like that. Not to mention only enough coffee/tea for 1 person and 1 cup yet there is 2 cups in the room, then you would have to go downstairs to reception and pay R10 for a cup of coffee/tea and can’t even have a refill.

- Jannie (2/5): - I have already stayed at many road lodges in SA, but Centurion are worse. In the room the tea and coffee facilities was for one person, but i paid for two people, no teaspoons. The cooldrink machine was not working for four days. The breakfast was even worser, when we arrived for breakfast on Friday morning there was only one sausage and no eggs and we paid R85 each. On Sunday the reception lady was very rude to school kids who was struggling with the cooldink machine. I will never go there again

- Lucie (6/5): Pleasantly disappointed - Overall the atay was pleasant. However, upon arrival there was no warm welcome or acknowledgement...instead it took 3 people to assist one guest. Not the type of service I came to expect from one of the City Lodge Hotels. They also dis not accommodate our special requests. When asked about it, it felt lile they were reluctant to assist and the end answer was sorry. Not sorry we can accommodate your request or let me check.

- CARL (6/5): - Too full with a National Traffic Police convention. As pensioners we were put on top floor with no elevator. It was strenuous going up and down. The convention guests got the major part of the service and we felt in the way.

I did see an old man using a walker to go to the 3 rd floor . Towels were not replaced after the first night .I had to request for clean towels .We ate breakfast else as the breakfast was not good for R80 .Would not use again with my family for a 2 night stay . Its okay for an overnight stay. Wifi never worked
