- A (10/5): - I can't say less about our stay it was amaxing. The place is clean and neat and comfortable. Our room was very small but nice and clean and it was a double bed I think it will be more convincing if you can get a small bar fridge in your rooms. Another thing there was no water for us to make tea. The only option was to tap at the toilet so we chose not. Atleast have 1 litre of still water for your guests to make tea or coffee. Unfortunately for me I did not take pictures.

- Michael (6/5): - We use this hotel as a stopover when we fly in to Durban from Australia. It is cheap and the facilities are good value lfor money. Only annoyance is there was only one person checking in at close to 11pm. They also ran out of the excellent underground parking spots. We parked in the adjacent mall parking but the entrance from the rear was not monitored and we had to walk around. Service however was friendly and room was clean and tidy.

I am humbled with the kind of service I received, my grandparents were happy and relaxed. The breakfast was nice and well prepared. - Michael (10/5): - We come to visit family in The Midlands twice a year from Australia. We needed a place close to Durban Airport close to the N2 to make it easy to find at night. This hotel is tidy friendly and clean and very well placed. The position next to the mall is ideal for air conditioned walking after an early rise due to jet lag. The rooms are small but for the money it great value for our purposes. We wil use this hotel again.

- Louis Derrick (6/5): Road Lodge Umhlanga - When my team arrived after 7 in the evening to book in, the booking could not be found. The booking was made on the 19th of Sept and the receptionist after reluctantly trying to find the booking said the booking only arrived in her inbox as the team arrived on the evening of the 26th of Sept. We booked 3 x rooms with double beds, they then said we only booked 2 x rooms and then later realised they were not correct. The rooms my team were placed in after the staff scrambled to get them rooms, had 2 x single beds each. I feel that they did not prepare for our arrival. Other than that, the team was satisfied with the rooms in the end. We will not be booking with the Road Lodge again.

- Jenna (8/5): - The service upon arrival was appalling. I have booked and stayed at umhlanga road lodge several times but this is the first time i experienced such bad service. It was an effort to check in with an absolutely unfriendly receptionist who treated me like a criminal because my maiden surname appeared on my confirmation and I had an ID with my married surname. It took one of his colleagues to come intervene after she witnessed the conversation before I could get checked in. This is totally unacceptable, how are staff not trained the same way? It took about 15 minutes of trying to identify myself before I could get checked in, previously the entire check in process would take less 5 minutes as all the receptionist would do is confirm details as nothing has changed for the past 8 years of staying at the umhlanga road lodge. Kindly train staff

It was a Good stay. Just the Garage buzzer and the card system doesn't always work. The security guard needs to be more visible to open.

- Keri Soldo (2/5): Noisy guests and plug issue - There was a school trip and the kids were noisy, Dennis kindly moved me up one floor. Then the plugs kept shorting and again Dennis assisted but it meant I could not unwind. Middle of the night loud echoeing bangs in the stairwell I assume or a floor above which woke me three times. Hotel great otherwise but guests an issue, and the plugs were an inconvenience and disturbed my unwind time. Dennis well done for keeping a smile and trying to sort out the issues though.

- Rajesh (2/5): Poor Service - We had problems from the moment we got in. Key card access/ on site /parking was full/ room was dirty (floors were covered in dust. Towels were not replaced during the entire stay (despite complaining). Had to ask for towels. When they did get it right (almost) only one towel for a room of 2. Definitely wont be going back there ever.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing - Stay was disappointing. Rooms were clean but service was terrible. It took over an hour to get checked in. Check in was supposed to be at 2pm. I got there at 3pm and only checked in after 4pm. When we finally got to the room, house keeping was still cleaning the room. Very unprofessional. We didnt even have clean towels. The shower was so claustrophobic They really need to improve on service and customer comfort. Staff was friendly but very laid back and slow to help there customers A very disappointing stay.
