Guest Reviews
- Ali (10/5): - Great stay great location
- joanne (8/5): - The room was tiny. No tv or air conditioning , but it was clean. It was by the waterside. The bistro/restaurant just outside the hotel was fabulous.
- Bhargav (6/5): - Property is at a beautiful location but condition of property is old & in bad shape.
- Erin (10/5): - Na
- Ray (2/5): - This is a hostel, not a hotel. Its a converted convent that poses as a hoyel, but your room is nothing but a bed and a sink. Communal bathrooms and showers.
Breakfast was good though.
- Erin (10/5): - The lakefront view was spectacular with plenty of unique searing. There was flora and fauna in abundance. The history of the island is well preserved and presented.
The natural preservation is outstanding, including the trails with audio tour.
Great holiday from start to finish!!
- Mahmoud (2/5): - Hi, I was really unhappy with the place I booked because the room was full of bugs and I couldn't sleep, so we slept in the car and in the morning we spoke to the manager who was very rude and since it was booked through this site, I decided to pursue a refund request. Please refund my money.
- Kelly (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised by the simple eloquence of the property. Everything was clean and tidy. The breakfast was more than adequate. The location and history make this an ideal place to stay.
- Zachariah (8/5): - I didn't like that we got moved into a very hot room with no air conditioning.
- Graham (2/5): - Don't arrive at night, maze to get in. Nothing's marked easily. They don't make it apparent there is shared bathroom like a hostel. If you want to change rooms, good luck using your debit or visa card (no tap, then they double charged my debit card). No TVs in the rooms which are the size of closets. Stench all down the hallway, where the walls are super thin and people like to hang out in the halls all night to talk. When issues arise, I was told nothing could happen until tomorrow. Parking lot is not secure. Window AC units if your lucky to get an AC room. Have a nice view of my car..... A cheap motel would 1000x better then this place. Never left a bad review before but what an awful experience for a hotel which looked so great....online. I was in town for business, finally had a night away from the kids and then yeah what an absolute let down from calling to getting into a "room".
- Paul (4/5): Dirty towels. - The towels smelled like dog smells so I felt dirtier after a shower. So as I was walking by the cleaning cart I learned why.
- Sean (8/5): - Great place enjoy it a lot
- Hans (6/5): - I like the place, the toilet and shower was outside of the room I didn’t like it, no customer service I stayed there for three days no one came to anything
- ZHI JUN (10/5): - I like the beautiful and quite surrounding of the hotel.
- James (10/5): - The location was great
- Eileen (2/5): - No air conditioner
- Margaret (4/5): Older, SMALL rooms with shared facilities. - The grounds are beautiful, restaurant great, breakfast buffet good, staff excellent. But rooms were too small -- make sure you read the description before booking. Shared showers and bathrooms (men and women) -- they have separate stalls, but lots of bugs in these areas. Many rooms were lacking A/C. They gave us wrong room to start, then moved us to far end of the hall, making a long walk for bathroom facilities. No TVs in room and we barely had room for our two suitcases. From start to finish, we had some problems, including giving us room keys that didn't work, so it took us about an hour to get working keys and the correct room. Showers weren't working properly. Handicapped bathroom near reception had a non-working sink and, although it seemed to have a locking door, it didn't lock. We left a day early as it was just not conducive to a comfortable stay.
- Utthara (8/5): - Superb surroundings and good relaxing place for a couple. The staff is super friendly. Breakfast is with good food. Nice n clean.
- Blagojce (4/5): - Very nice and quiet , no bathroom in the rooms, terrible smells. Nice around the property.
- Marie-Claude (10/5): - beautiful quiet place to enjoy a peaceful yet active vacation
- Douglas (6/5): - First room no air conditioner second room air conditioner didn’t work third room door was very difficult to open fourth room ok but they didn’t change our stay to the last room so our room keys had to be reprogrammed every day of our stay very inconvenient
- Marielle (6/5): - Beautiful place to relax and walk around, nice place by the water, nature area very nice…
But disappointing about the room and sharing bathroom that we didn’t know about???
Very small room, uncomfortable beds, no bathroom, just a little sink….
That not working the price that we paid for??
- Andrew (8/5): - It is a very unique property. While the rooms are small they are very nicely appointed. The breakfast is wonderful and the staff too. It is a simple hotel and has wonderful grounds.
- Paul (8/5): Hit and miss - One day the staff at kitchen were crappy so did not provide any help the other days it was other friendly ones. Hot and miss situation
- laurie (10/5): Natural Beauty - Beautiful grounds, friendly staff and wonderful breakfast...a very unique experience...note there are no televisions or bathrooms in the rooms...but our most precious moment was seeing two deer from our bedroom window relaxing in the field late at night
- Robert (4/5): - Room was very hot, just a fan no air conditioning. I failed to notice the lack of services (washroom , tv alarm etc) in room when I booked it. Thus low price turned out to be a high price for what was actually offered. My fault perhaps but not recommended.
- MOVIECLIP (4/5): - Room doesn’t come with bathroom and so scary at night
- David (8/5): - Excellent place to go and spend a few days on vacation with outdoor activities, or just to sleep at night. The only objectionable thing is that the windows don't have blackout.
The sun appears very early and doesn't let you finish resting.
- Terry (4/5): - I liked knowing the history of the building
I did not like-no bathroom in room- parking is a mess-bedding is uncomfortable-breakfast buffet should be monitored more frequently-towels were not changed in room
- Harry (10/5): - Fabulous property. Not fancy, but clean and comfortable and a beautiful location.
- Trevor (2/5): - The grounds and property is beautiful.
That's where it ends.
The hotel is a former convent for nuns.
They do not advertise the following:
Shared dual sex bathrooms AND SHOWERS with the crap thin school type seperators.
NOTHING IN ROOM OR IN HOTEL FOR SERVICES. That means no coffee machine, fridge or microwave in hotel!! Unreal.
Then no TV in room. Room very, very small.
These services, or lack of, clearly should be advertised! Also I don't think many people enjoy dual-sex bathrooms and showers. Mind of important options when choosing a place to stay.
Most front staff were ok but one older lady above and beyond rude.
Location far from anything else so getting Ubers not easy, taxis expensive from this area as none close.
Finally, I had to submit FLIGHT TICKETS ETC as they CHARGED my credit card 2 extra days after checkout! Unreal as when I called they said video showed you checking in room. lol
It was cranky lady working at checkout and she took room pass card.--> during stay twice I had to go down to get card reactivated in system to open room door. Wouldnt even give a second card as the second time it really ticked me off.
Avoid here, or at least know what your renting. Ok for cleanliness etc but no services is a major thing especially where nothing is close.
There is a restaurant on the grounds, limited hours and a restaurant, cafeteria style, with very restricted hours. Both very expensive.
Irs now a nature, ecological place
- Paul (8/5): - Nice quiet location
- Yari (10/5): - That was exellent Service and everithing
- Daniel (8/5): - Scenic…’more ameneties (eg tv in room) would motivate me to stay again. dw
- Ted and Patricia (10/5): - A peaceful n restful place to stay, by the water. Well kept grounds with walking trails, near an apple orchard. Breakfast was complete; a good variety to choose from. Staff were friendly n helpful.
- Christopher (10/5): Great stay - Great location for me, shared shower and bath not an issue for me. Front Desk was very helpful - Ignas??
- Dawn (6/5): - It most certainly wasn’t clear on the reservation site that rooms did not have their own bathrooms. That needs to be much clearer upfront!!!
- Pat (10/5): - Everything that was there was clean and neat. However we were not aware that it was like a dorm situation with shared bathroom and shared shower rooms in the common hallway. The front desk staff was wonderful.
- Rashid (4/5): Not a good place to stay - This property has no washroom inside the room. There are common washrooms and common toilets. It is very uncomfortable to stay without washroom, it looks like you are staying in dorme.
Also no eating place around. I have to drive 25 KMs for food
- Peter (8/5): - Very nice
- abdessalam (8/5): - Appreciated the quiet and outstanding location in saint-Bernard island.
I liked less the lack of response by phone
- jessy (6/5): - Staff were not particularly friendly. Breakfast buffet was decent. Surrounding lands were quiet and overlook the water.
- Gary (10/5): - Friendly and professional staff.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was a wedding party at midnight that created enormous amount of noise. The music was so loud that the whole building was shaking. The party went on from 9pm to 1am. There was no way I could get to sleep. Talked to the party guy and they responded that they paid for it, meaning they can do anything they want as they have paid for it. Talked to the front desk, and they replied there is nothing they can do about it. This is the worst hotel I ever stayed in terms of handling noise.
The room smells so rusty and AC is not working, no temperature control.
Shared bathroom, both male and female guests go to the same bathroom, there is no privacy to speak of.
- Al (2/5): - MY room had no toilet, no shower, no air-conditioning, no TV, no soap or water glasses. Bathroom was co-ed down the hall. Showers also down the hall are Men/Women. Showers are back-to-back and make it possible to allow a cell phone to be used to see over. Rooms are very small. This place was a Covet for nuns.
- irvine (2/5): - Had a bed and sink. That was it in the room. Smelt bad.
- Timothy (10/5): - Very pleasant and beautiful place to relax
- Ed (8/5): - There was a
Noisy event one night
- Michael (10/5): - The outside is very nice.
The bedrooms are extremely small, and be careful, the bathrooms are shared and MIXED !!!!
- ISAAC (2/5): - Very bad room , no AC and no toilet inside the room , not recommended for anyone 😡
- James (2/5): - There isn’t air conditioner available! The room was too hot even with the window open. Bathrooms and showers are shared for both genders in the hallway, rooms don’t have designated bathroom spaces. The room itself was too small, I couldn’t move around. They did not check my ID card upon checking in, they just asked for my last name and game the a key which is not very secure way to let people into the hotel.
- Gary (10/5): - The private and shared bathrooms need tile rennovation.
- Arman (2/5): - This was the worst weekend of my life. I will be requesting a refund and writing a detailed description of the unsafe environment with spider nests and 40 celsius low air circulation room, the false advertising and the rude staff.
- AMOUR (8/5): Very nice destination torisme but no air condition - No air-conditioning in most rooms, so it's very hot in summer!
On the other hand, the site and surroundings are simply magnificent and pleasant !
- Atanu (2/5): - The fans don't work, no hot or even warm water. It's unlivable
- Asseneth (6/5): - The room have no A/C. Abd very small. Shared washrooms and showers. Little scary.
- Paige (2/5): - Spiders everywhere you look and no ac in most rooms
- Svetlana (4/5): - Area so good
- dae jong (4/5): - Room don't have Air conditioner nor Mini fridge. Mosquitoes all aroundthe building
- KH (8/5): - Paradise place
- Gary (10/5): - Quiet, peaceful
- Donald (8/5): - As a retreat it's great. If you enjoy ditching electronics, this is your place. However, there's no television and no air-conditioning. Staff is very attentive, friendly, and helpful.
- Gary (10/5): - Quiet and convenient and easy checkin.
- richard (2/5): - This is a former convent masquerading as a hotel. The room i was given was 8 feet by 10 feet. There was no telephone or television and a small bed that was only big enough for 1 person. It was a Saturday night and they had a wedding going on and at 10:00 pm it became a live band who performed until midnight. Just try sleeping through that. All in all this location should not be treated as an hotel.
- Jagdeep (8/5): Hôtel Manoir D'Youville - We checked in just before midnight..they helped to get room we have 7 months baby they switch our room to A/C room, the room we booked has no A/C we come to know. Overall its good experience, prices are reasonable.
- William (10/5): - Beautiful
- Qiongfang (10/5): - The hotel is located on a peaceful island with great scenery, especially for sunset.
- Farzana (8/5): - I liked that there was a pool and lake, however the pool doesn’t open til June 22nd. I wish that was written somewhere because I showed up with bathing suits unable to use them.
- Dariusz (2/5): Disgusting and expensive hotel - It has been the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms are so tiny, in bad condition and most of them don't have bathrooms or shower. The bathrooms are shared with all guests on the floor - about 20 people. There are only two showers per floor - disaster. On the top of all inconveniences there was no hot water therefore everyone needed to shower in a cold water. The double bed was very small, the bed sheets looked that they were not changed from the last guest. We found also cacroches in the shared bathroom.
- Arwen (8/5): - Lovely grouds, a bit sparse for dinning with a catered event interrupting regular service schedule
- AMMAR (4/5): - Please beware the pictures. The hotel is NOT as displayed. Cramped, hot. The toilets were clogged. Spiders nest in window, no parking. The breakfast was decent.
- Mark (2/5): - Felt like staying a camp. Shared washroom and no tv. Would not recommend
- Madeline (6/5): - It was a nice hotel that was clean with good staff and provided a nice place to sleep near Lachine
- jatin (2/5): - Rooms are not good
- Jake (8/5): - No hot water but I didn't mind cold shower
- Azher (10/5): - Gorgeous location. Rooms are small
- ROBERT (10/5): - Quiet, private, friendly & helpfull staff
- Drew (2/5): - No hot water, event venue right below room playing loud music late into the night, room was hot, parking lot was full. Tried to cancel second night but wasnt able to, did not even receive any form of compensation for the first night. Front counter staff was rude.
- Jeremy (6/5): - The shared bathrooms are co-ed open locker room style, not individually lockable bathrooms like a hostel or other shared spaces I've stayed in. So if you're not comfortable with that kind of arrangement, do not stay here. The parking is also gated and you're not guaranteed a spot. Coming back during the day I had to park at public lots some distance away, even though there were spots available in front of the hotel.
- doug (10/5): - Fascinating bit of history. Lovely surroundings
- Jatinder (4/5): - This facility has NO shower, No toilet, No fridge, no microwave. just bed to sleep. lol breakfast is ok.
- Wayne (8/5): - I didn’t realize it had no TV. I may have missed it in the fine print , but either way , everything was good , just missing a TV.
- Shahin (10/5): - .
- Paul (10/5): Relaxing place - It is a nice quiet location away from car traffic a nice relaxing place
- Antonio (10/5): - Nice, clean and quite.
- Abdullai (8/5): - Ok stay
- Sukhdeep (10/5): - Very delicious breakfast and friendly staff. We stayed to be near Montreal and nice drivr
- mohsen (4/5): - Small room and very old equipment
- sam (10/5): - Great
- diane (10/5): - Beautiful landscape
- Jofel (2/5): - the room has no own private washroom.never i never book on this hotel again
