Guest Reviews
- Benjamin (6/5): - This place is almost impossible to find. This hotel is down a narrow alley way in the Nana nightlife district. I took the train from the Airport and got off at Nana at 11.30 p.m. Took a tuk-tuk to the hotel but the driver could not find it and went in circles. He finally found the dead end alley and with baggage in tow I treaded down the alley. There is absolutely no signage for this hotel. I did see a sign for White Orchid Inn 2 and the person there directed me to the White Orchid next door. Be ready to haul your baggage up the narrow stairs as there is no elevator. Fortunately the air-conditioner worked. There are lots of bars and food nearby. This cheap place is tolerable for a one night stay or stop over. The next morning I checked out and took a bus to my final destination.
Sporca, umida, puzzolente, vecchia. Ci va coraggio a fermarsi.
- Adan (10/5): - Near nana plaza and all night life
- David (10/5): - Easy
- Allen (2/5): - Hotel for someone on a very limited budget. This property is old, run-down and poorly maintained. The location is down a poorly light side ally. No elevators at the property. The stairs to upper floors are very steep and difficult to navigate. The bed was very hard to sleep on. The mattress was extremely thin, and you could feel the wooden box frame pressing against your body when sleeping.
However, the price was very cheap, and the location was in walking distance of many Restaurants and the Entertaiment District.
Wifi
- Paul R. (2/5): - The room stunk of cigarette smoke, there were roaches in the drawers, the bed was as hard as a rock and the water was turned off for 2 hours on my second day.
I left after the 1st night and found another hotel!!!
- Carl (10/5): - handy to nana bts
- David (8/5): 1 week stay - Not the warmest welcome but good location just off soi 4 Nana and covers your needs at a fair price
- sbhutada21 (2/5): Disgusting, Terrible, Cockroaches, Bedbugs - My advise to you is don't book this hotel. Was greeted with cockroaches in the room. Very old furniture with bed bugs. Bathrooms are dirty and front desk staff is extremely rude. Just not worth it guys.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good Service. Staff is helpful. Cleaned room everyday. 2 water bottles per day provided.
- Michael (6/5): Good location but very basic - Only stayed for a few hours on a stopover between Bangkok and Chiang Mai. It was adequate for the $18 I paid. The shower was hot(ish), and there was air conditioniing.
- FarAway12207834685 (8/5): Clean and good room with best staff having good attitude - Clean and good room with best staff having good attitude. Good location, everything nearby. A lot of INDIAN restaurants nearby. Nana bts on the walking distance. Cheapest and best accordingly available ..
- Jason (8/5): nana - area nana plaza
- Marvin (6/5): All the basics - This is basic accommodation at a good price.
- Carl (6/5): - Air good, Lots of stairs -no elevator people friendly
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location is superb for night life, bars etc. and the staff are on duty 24/7. It is an old building but the room was large and they clean every day and provide 1l of bottled water every day as part of cleaning.
- Verified traveler (2/5): good location - the location is good but there are problems with the room that need fixing
- Verified traveler (2/5): Do not accommodate - I didn't get the hotel I booked looking at the web site and diverted to a untidy adjoining hotel which was way bad standards.
So noisy around the hotel because of the construction of buildings and even could not take a rest during the day time.
Toilets are very untidy and small.
- SRINIVASARAO (2/5): Not advisable - Near by location
Fandt hos Hotels Com White Orchid Inn, tilbud, billigt.
- Verified traveler (2/5): -
- Jessica (2/5): - They want to remove my review because i said the place was filthy and there were rats and ladies that were selling their good goods everywhere i mean everywhere
- Verified traveler (4/5): Warning - New paint. Looks great! But the chemical fumes from the oil based paint were so strong we started coughing! I thought these paint were so obsolete you couldn't buy them anymore. When we arrived I was too exhausted by the fewer to confront the reception, so we had to keep all windows open at all times. So much for AC.
The door to the bathroom has that hight where you will only sometimes hit your head, to insure you fall for it again with an hilarious rerun of you on the floor in agony.
These cheap hotels have a hard time getting the basics, like breathable air, right. Common problems includes: Brutal overuse of cockroach spray (not this time) and alot of mold (almost none this time). So I learned again the hard way to never book a cheap hotel but first check the room since these hazards are unpredictable.
If it hadn’t been for the air problem I’d say other reviews are too harsh on this hotel, but using hazardous paint in mid high season I’d recommend steering clear of this one til a months after all rooms are done.
- James (8/5): Good value - An ok place but very cheap. Had air but lots of stairs! Right downtown so excellent night life.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Just works for a place to sleep - It was decent for the price, the cleanliness or the condition wasn’t great. But it’s not fair to expect too much for the price paid.
- Eric (6/5): - Cheap hotel good for 1 or 2 night in this area for alone traveler
- Cozy3216 (10/5): Great hotel - If you want a place for entertainment and a warm welcome from these lovely people. Book it and even though the beds might be a bit hard, it did my back some welcome relief. They welcome you as if it was your first time experience. The showers are perfect and even though the rooms might be small, it's a great place to stay on a tight budget and yes their is an ash tray in your room if you desire. If ya got kids, don't bring 'em but if you have a sense of adventure, it's all smiles at the White Orchid inn 2 .Can't have enough praises for this little place. By the way, if you want a refreshment before 5.00pm,Their is a great little place with in 20 steps of the hotel and meet some nice people. A welcoming friendly atmosphere and I will be back.
- Julian (4/5): Smelly hour - More for hourly rent than for families. The rooms were very basic and smelled not very good
- Dilpreet (8/5): - A nice experience according to the money I paid for two nights.
- Bill (6/5): Low budget but good location to Nana Plaza. - Very cheap so cannot expect great revue. However good value for money, couldn’t go cheaper though. You do get what you pay for.
- brettgloyn86 (2/5): Disgusting - On arrival to the location, we were greeted by 5 ladyboys down a seedy street, the room is vile, the shower feel off the wall, just don't stay there.
It is in the middle of a walking street full of prostitutes 🤢
- Eric (8/5): Comfortable stay at budget price - Good value for budget price
- warmbeerhater (2/5): WiFi broken for entire three day stay... - Room was old but clean. A few minor plumbing issues and a Brocken window...lots of stuff in the halls, which were not clean. I would avoid the who!e area...the bar 40 meters away charges 90 for a barely cold small Tiger...seems to be a lounge for transgender.
- MD (4/5): Overpriced dirty room. - I've stayed in a number of hotels alone soi 4 and this by far was the worst for cleanliness. It sould be well below 500 baht a night. Daily cleanings are non existence and you have to change own towels and water yourself. I would not stay here again.
- H8619GCbenjamind (4/5): Noisy - I stayed here for 3 nights in December. I booked White Orchid because it was one of the cheapest places I could find in Sukhumvit. The room was pretty basic, but decent enough for the price. The thing that let this place down was that there was a unit outside the window that would start rattling whenever the air con was turned on. Not just the air con in my room either, otherwise I would never have used it, but I think for the whole floor. So RIP my sleeping patterns! I arrived in Bangkok jet lagged and didn't recover until after I had left. I definitely wouldn't stay here again after that experience.
- V7857QNjohnc (8/5): Cheap and Cheerful - I have stayed here several times over the years. I found the desk staff helpful and any criticism could be down to language issues. The rooms and fittings are basic but so too is the price. My message to those who expect more is to prepare to pay more - I have no issues with the hotel and will be going back there in September.
- 977sebastianh (6/5): Higher price for less - This is a reasonable priced hotel but gone up a 100 baht. Now 8 hundred but got rid of any english channels so just thai TV which means no film or footy...kenkneaw. Why do Muslims boys have to shout instead of talk? A little annoying when it's late.
- Aryankush (4/5): No elevator and rooms on 4th floor! - We needed a hotel to drop of luggage and pick them later in the night. So we booked as cheap as possible in the market area. But still I would say I was disappointed as there were cheaper hotels nearby.
Plus we were allotted rooms on the fourth floor and there was no elevator in the hotel. They did not even change rooms upon request. So even though we spent 10 minutes in the hotel in total, the experience was horrible !
- maddiesydneyfc (8/5): good price, good room - We paid 800 baht for an aircon 3 bed room. The room itself was average, dirty walls and such, but it was really big, had a fridge, a tv, balcony, decent shower and the wifi and aircon worked really well. The location is near Nana station which is a bit of a seedy red light district but good to be near the train to easily get around the city.
The only bad thing about the hotel was the staff who were really rude the whole time and all they said to us at any point during the 3 night stay was "you pay now"
- Verified traveler (2/5): 00000000000 - is really not good service in there very mean not clean hotel and not good reception
- nick130470 (6/5): Acceptable for the price - For 500 baht it was acceptable. Room is tiny but clean. Fridge with 2 bottles of water, hot shower with large enough bathroom and great location in the heart of Sukhumvit soi 4 if that's your thing. Would not rate it as highly if it cost anymore.
- Tan (2/5): Terrible front desk girl - When I asked for a towel because there was no towel was given in the room, the front desk staff yelled at me to 5 mins non-stop. I don't need to provide more details but do NOT book this hotel if you value customer service at all.
- siroiss (2/5): DEN OF THIEVES AND BEDBUGS - HORRIBLE PLACE. DEN OF THIEVES AND BEDBUGS.
I did not stay there. I kept the room but went to sleep somewhere else.
I had made a reservation for a Deluxe Room at White Orchid Inn Nana.
The first problem is that they have 4 different hotels/dumps bearing similar names and they shift you from hotels without consideration from the price you have paid and the reservation you have made, and you always the looser.
I was not put in the hotel I had reserved for nor was I given the type of room I HAD PAID FOR.
I was put in a much cheaper hotel, White Orchid InnII, and given the CHEAPEST POSSIBLE ROOM. THAT IS FRAUD, pure and simple, in its strongest legal meaning. Police and TAT should investigate.
When I protested, the employee refused even to look at my reservation and made very rude comments in Thai to another employee. She was very dismissive and rude.
As it was only for a couple of nights, I decided not to bother and not to have a fight.
I went to the room/dump she had assigned to me ONLY TO DISCOVER, under the sheets, THAT THE BED WAS COVERED WITH DEAD BEDBUGS.
I fled to a friend s place were I spent the 2 nights.
The police, should investigate the place and tourism websites should remove it from its list of offers forthwith.
- Bassam (2/5): BAD - NOT GOOD HOTEL
- AJk_511 (6/5): Very basic but clean and in good location - I stayed there for 1 night during my transit in bangkok, it very close to entrainment attractions, it provide very basic facilities but clean room, there are plenty of restaurants reaby for international tourist to choose from, you can find taxi nearby throughout the night, not a bad choice if you have tight budget.
- Petr (4/5): Not very nice - The room smells and is very dark. Quite clean. Some bugs, not not many. Well equipped, but lot of things didn't work properly. The area has lot of bars and in the evening is full of ladyboy hookers. Quite expensive restaurants (for Thailand). The hotel is guest friendly. Internet almost doesn't work, but it's the same in whole Thailand everywhere - the best option is to get SIM with mobile internet, which works and is very cheap.
- Verified traveler (4/5): You Get What You Pay For - This is a prime example of the old adage "you get what you pay for". If you're the type of traveler that needs a warm friendly smile when you enter the lobby of your hotel, then this place is not for you. If, like me, you don't care about such pleasantries, then you could save a couple bucks by bunking down here for a night or two.
Walls are dirty, but no cockroaches or rodents were detected. The common areas are quite informal, but the floors are swept and though dirty with age, clean.
The worst part about this hotel is the service. The people that work here are by no means friendly or hospitable. I'd say they're more annoying or rude - which might not matter to the budget traveler.
There are other hotels in the area similarly priced. I'd check them out first.
- Patrick (4/5): Easily pleased budget traveler not pleased - Location and price are fine but this was a dump even by low standards- certainly not two stars. Staff never once greeted me during a ten-day stay and it was after about four days when my room had not been cleaned that I learned that I had to leave my key in order to have that happen. No major problems but frankly I was embarrassed to bring "anyone" to the room. There are plenty of similarly-priced options in the area. I'm a no fuss traveler but in Thailand even the dingiest of places are usually brightened up by a smiling staff person. Not so at the Orchid.
- G MAYURA (8/5): white orchid inn - The hotel was clean and neat. Basic services were available and whatever was promised was delivered. Very good value for money. I liked the do-it-yourself laundry. Practical n affordable
- Big_Daddy_OO (6/5): Ok for backpacker and if you like the RED Light - Located not far from the Nana BTS station on Nana street where all the action happend at night. I would suggest to take the room not facing the streets since music is on until 1am. Room is average if your a backpacker. Dont expect a 3 stars hotel. Not recommended for family since of the night life. Stay on the first week of december 2014. Wifi is very good. I was located on the 3rd floor. Would go back if im in the area since its cheap.
- Neil (6/5): Excellent staff, small hotel on a side street - Hotel is very small and was hard to find as down a side street and other hotels close by with similar names. Very effective air conditioner. Hotel is in the budget price range and is quite basic. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Organised my washing for 150 baht and returned folded washing in 3hrs. Located very close to Nana BTS and all the attractions of Sukhumvit
- Fred (6/5): It was cheap, so I got a cheap small room.
- I should have paid more money for a better room
When a better room was available hotel staff moved me to a bigger room
- ChrisOwensTrainer (6/5): Decent and in a great location. - I stayed here for a while whilst in Bangkok and fairly enjoyed my stay here.
The staff are friendly, Wi-Fi is good, location is great for restaurants and bars etc.
Staying on Nana Soi 4 is an experience in itself!
- alexdaland (4/5): Would not recommend this place to anyone. - to expensive in this area, noisy back street some times. The reception does not care at all about other than being payed.
My ac got broken and water in half the room.
They tried to come up with some "this is how an AC works" bulls***..
- Guest (2/5): Warning - I have stayed in this cheap hotel before. It was close to the BTS and shopping areas. This time I noticed something I hadn't seen before; cockroaches! Not just one or two but literally dozens! I had prepaid my room so no refund was available. They sprayed my room twice but it did not help. When I returned to my room each day and turned on the light, they were all over my bed.
Another point is that there were prostitutes and lady boys coming and going at all hours. I was propositioned going in and out of my room several times. There was a man and woman arguing about payment in the next room and the yelling persisted for hours. I complained to the reception but they refused to do anything about it.
After 5 long days there I was relieved to be leaving. When I was on the plane, I noticed a cockroach on my shirt! At my next destination I emptied my suitcase in the bathroom and shook all my clothes.
The attitude of the receptionist at night was terrible. I will never go back there again.
- Iro14 (4/5): Expensive if u compare to the near one - They ask 100bth for laundry service, when the near Hotels charge just 60 bth , they don t have a dry machine ,the aircon of my room didn t work. The position is good especially for single who want to have fun in the night. Area is full of hookers I not recommend this place for any family
- ardithpica (2/5): No fire exit, you'll be trapped if a fire broke out - Good location if you want to be close to Nana entertainment, but noisy customers coming back with girls in the middle of the night, as all places in Sukhumvit Soi 4. Staff less or more friendly and the second day on the morning, coming back from breakfast, the door of the guest house was closed, as the desktop girl was in a room with a customer... We have to wait outside more than 30 minutes, fortunately we haven't a plane to take. Most very small rooms haven't windows, wi-fi NEVER works. 4 FLOORS, NO FIRE EXIT: YOU'LL BE TRAPPED IF A FIRE BROKE OUT.
- Candlemass (8/5): Clean rooms, friendly staffs with a great location - We stayed at the new White Orchid Inn-2(address : 21/14 Sukhumvit,Soi 4).this hotel is minutes away from 7-Eleven store, money exchange, vibrant nightlife at Soi 4,BTS Nana station,Foodland etc.takes no more than a 10 minute walk to Nana station.even though they dont have a lift in the hotel premises but that makes up for the affordable room rates with aircondition, attached toilet, free wifi.its pretty much safe for travelers with family as well if you dont mind the girls and bars on the street nearby.staffs are friendly and informative.recommended!
