Niets
- PIOTR (5/5): Rozczarowany piękne miejsce z dużym potencjałem ale serwis i jedzenie wymaga poprawy - Widok z jadalni podczas śniadania
Położenia naszego pokoju i basen prywatny Bardzo skąpa oferta śniadaniowa kucharz nie potrafi zrobić jajecznicy ani jajek sadzonych żeby było płynne żółto bardzo drogie napoje do kolacji 10 dolarów za butelkę wody drogi transport hotelowy do centrum ceny za lunch nie adekwatne do jakości - spalone kalmary bardzo głośny klimatyzator
- Steven (10/5): Want to go back - Great location
Staff are amazing - thank you Frank
Lovely rooms That we didn’t stay longer
- Hannah (10/5): -
- Sara (9/5): Paradise! Gorgeous hotel with the most amazing staff. - Staff were outstanding Wines need to be reviewed

Eigenlijk niets.
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Stefan (9/5): - Location good, rooms superb. Kitchen good., people very friendly and helpful.
Definitely one of the best stays in paje The rooms should have mosquito nets on the windows to allow open windows at night.
Kitchen is good, some meals had a too creative mix of spices. Overall good.
- Roelof (9/5): -
- Nicolaas Theodorus (9/5): Heel goed - Ontbijt was goed, echter we misten vleeswaren.
- Luca (10/5): - Amazing hotel. Great villas. Feel relaxed and private. Nice SPA. Amazing staff. Only thing to significantly improve is the food. With a great chef/food, it would be amazing. To be noted that the beach is very windy and is suited for kite surf. That’s the only negative consideration if you are planning to just relax on the beach
- Sebastian (10/5): -
- Mark (10/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): -
- Gian (9/5): Quiet, beautiful hotel with great infrastructure - Very friendly stuff, very good service , excellent food and well maintained infrastructure with attention to detail The hotel was relatively expensive and „little“ things are charged extra which adds up significantly to the bill
- Vivian (10/5): 5 rooms, 10/10! - There are places you visit and enjoy… and then there are places that stay with you long after you leave. Kisiwa Resort is absolutely the second.
From the very first moment we arrived, everything felt special, intentional, and deeply human. We were greeted by one team member of every team.. even the chef! The resort itself is stunning — beautifully designed, intimate, and perfectly integrated into nature. The rooms are thoughtfully laid out, elegant yet cozy, with every detail considered. I run a hotel and one thing I always take particular attention to is cleanness and the rooms were spotless. Nothing feels overdone, yet everything feels refined. It’s the kind of place where luxury is quiet, warm, and effortless.
But what truly makes Kisiwa extraordinary is the people.
I have travelled extensively all over the world, stayed in many high-end hotels and resorts, and I can say without hesitation that the level of care, kindness, and genuine attention we received here is among the best I’ve ever experienced.
Every single person went above and beyond, every single day, without exception. Not because it was their job — but because they genuinely cared. Just to give an example, the pastry chef came to meet us, asked our favorite desert to which we said Tiramisu and the next day he served us tiramisu as a dessert (and it was better than many places in Italy!). Another example, we always chose the same sunbeds by the sea, by the second day, they were already prepared for us and kept for us, wow!!!
Steve, Simba, Julius, David, Denis… these are just a few of the names that made our stay unforgettable, but honestly, everyone was incredible. Every smile felt real. Every interaction felt personal. They anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. They made us feel not like guests, but like people they truly wanted to welcome and look after.
The food deserves a special mention. Simply outstanding. Every meal was beautifully presented, fresh, creative, and full of... Nothing, everything was PERFECT!

- Emilia (10/5): - Exceptional service, attentive and friendly staff. Very well maintained facilities. Great food at the restaurant. The team puts a lot of emphasis on service and friendly atmosphere, which makes a big difference! Would come back!
- Warren (9/5): -
- Pascal (10/5): Perfekter Aufenthalt. - Großartiges Hotel.
Perfekter Service, Essen, Lage.
- Rimma (9/5): -
- Alexis (3/5): Lovely local staff doing their best under extremely poor management - This hotel could be wonderful, but the management is failing on all fronts—guest safety, service, honesty, and basic hospitality. Our experience included health risks for our children, lack of support, misinformation, and unacceptable behaviour from senior staff.
We hope the hotel group takes this seriously, because the current situation is nowhere near the standard expected from a property with such ratings and pricing Extremely Disappointing Stay – Serious Concerns About Safety, Management & Service
We travel frequently with our toddler twins and have stayed in many hotels worldwide. This was our first time in Zanzibar, and unfortunately this hotel provided one of the most disappointing experiences we’ve ever had.
Upon arrival, the staff were welcoming and assured us they could assist with anything. However, our luggage did not arrive due to an airline issue, leaving us without basic essentials like swimwear, hats, or sunscreen. We asked the hotel to direct us to the nearest shop with appropriate stock. Shockingly, the team could not provide this information and repeatedly sent us in the extreme heat to tiny local shops with almost nothing available.
The hotel boutique offered only a few items, mostly in size L, and nothing for children—not even sunscreen. We later discovered that the 5-star hotel next door had a full selection of essentials. It is surprising and upsetting that the team didn’t know this and made us waste an entire day searching for basic items
Childcare Issues
Because of the twins, we tried to arrange a nanny. The hotel quoted $20 per child per hour, which is double London prices, so we found a nanny independently. However, once she arrived, the General Manager repeatedly threatened to call security because she was “not allowed” on the premises. She left after just a few hours due to the unwelcoming and intimidating behaviour. This was extremely unnecessary and stressful.
Food & Breakfast – Nothing Like the Reviews
One of our priorities when choosing a hotel is food quality, especially breakfast. The reviews were excellent, yet the reality was the opposite:
• Very poor selection
• The same items every day
• Fruit with no flavour or colour
• Impossible to get a banana (we were told by both the GM and restaurant manager that “it’s very difficult to get anything in Zanzibar” which is not true as our next hotel has outstanding food selection)

- Birgel (8/5): -
- Nkwana (10/5): -
- Steffen (8/5): Veldig bra hotell, rent og ryddig, omtenksomt ! - Veldig rent! Hyggelig personell! Maten var helt ok
- Lee (9/5): Great stay - Beautiful beach and comfortable villas Na
- Maren (10/5): Alles in Allem immer wieder gerne!
Vraiement TOP
- Taly (10/5): If you want to be treated like royalty, that is the perfect place!
- Al Salt (9/5): - Location is Excellent, Staff even better we had such a warm welcome, and amazing hospitality during our stay, and as much as they must be asked to go out of their way to check on you, it felt genuine from most of them ! Sunday Dinner was african night food was fantastic all the local favourites, and more. Breakfast had the essentials but not the biggest or best selection, Dinner was included in the half board, was Good but nothing like Sundays Dinner!
- Sophie (9/5): Amazing stay and great value - Staff where so nice! - Everything was amazing, the staff, the food, the rooms!! Couldn't fault it Nothing to do with the hotel but the beach was covered in seaweed which we didn't realise.

- Lydia (10/5): The most exceptional stay! - This place is exceptional!
Our stay here was truly unforgettable. I've never stayed in a more peaceful, clean, tranquil, and beautiful hotel. The beach was stunning, with loungers always available and spaced far enough apart that you never felt crowded. The pool area was just as serene, and the water was absolutely perfect.
The gardens were impeccable, and our room was lovely—comfortable, clean, and beautifully designed. The food was incredible—authentic, delicious, and full of traditional flavor.
What really made our stay special was the staff. Shout to Muhammad , Lydia , Steven and Adil . They went out of their way to make us feel at home, attending to our every need with warmth and kindness.
We stayed here for our honeymoon, and it’s a place that will always hold a special place in our hearts. We absolutely loved it and only wish we could have stayed longer! Nothing everything was exceptional
- Jean (10/5): - Superb location and fabulous hotel. We stayed in a Villa with a private pool which was exceptional. Food was excellent with a good selection of drinks/cocktails. Staff were super friendly and made our whole stay one to remember. If you want peace, quiet and relaxation this is the place to stay.

- Harry (10/5): This place is the best we’ve ever stayed in. Great access to the beach, lovely pool area and the rooms are so amazing w - Property was beautiful and incredibly clean. All the facilities worked. The whole property felt very zen and well maintained.
- Oliver (9/5): Really excellent facility made more attractive by the excellent staff - particularly Lydia, Oswin and Adil. - Really loved the villas, the staff, the main dining room and the pool The gym needs some upgrade - machines and a/c. But it is nice facility to have.
- Christina (3/5): It might look and price as a 5 star, but hotel food and atmosphere is 1 star. - Beautiful room if you are in the beachfront villa. The other rooms will look onto the paths. Not much privacy. The main pool is average for this priced resort. Staff are friendly It is so expensive that it gives very poor value for money. The breakfast buffet was unbelievably bad. A few plastic containers of pastries, an egg station, and a menu of chef specials which we were not given. Zero atmosphere, no entertainment, no music around the pool. When suggested, a phone was put on a mobile speaker, then taken off so the pool staff could go on their phone. No happy hour. We also stayed in My Blue Hotel, Nungwi , a third of the price and a hundred times better.
Also Kisiwa is located way down the beach from the beach restaurants, bars and more lively hotels. It is not suggested you walk at night here, so you can’t just stroll up the beach. Plus you’ve paid massive price for included dinner.
- Torstein (9/5): The staff was amazing, the barstaff, front desk, waiters, cleaners etc. - Nice villas Some plumbing issues, toilet stuck
- Paola (10/5): Magnifique !
- 1. Freundlichkeit / Persönlichkeit
2. Lage und Ambiente
3. Ausstattung / Pool / Essen Nichts
- Amira (9/5): Relaxing stay with excellent staff - I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It’s perfect for people looking for peace, quiet, and relaxation. The staff were absolutely wonderful and always did their best to make us happy – especially Khalifa, who took care of us at the restaurant throughout our stay. As a small suggestion, it would be nice if the hotel could offer some activities or evening entertainment, and also consider adding a buffet option in addition to the menu style for meals.

- Nikita (4/5): I would stay here again if the tariff was cut by at least 65%. Otherwise never. I feel like I want my money back!!! - The location and friendly staff Everything else. The food is terrible, especially for vegetarians. Service is very, very slow and disorganised and which is very frustrating when they have a set menu and no buffet. Considering the high cost, the food, the service and amenities are poor. They even forgot to pack us our breakfast box which we discussed the night before as we had an early morning flight.
The rooms are big but again, very basic. They won’t even refill the super tiny tube of bath gel meant for two people but wouldn’t even suffice one. Also not sure why the pool in the hotel is supposed to close early (6/7 PM)
We were so disappointed, we spent all our time and meals outside the hotel

- Keith (10/5): Fantastic boutique hotel with excellent staff - Clean, well maintained. Well positioned.
The staff were phenomenal. they enhance the experience…. The manager? Julius, Stephen the housekeep, Mohammed the bartender, Chef Hussein and Charles the day manager?
Absolutely made out stay. There were many others but these stood out. For absolutely doing a great job but not expecting praise, they did a great job because it’s their job. Speaks to a wonderful hotel/working culture.

- Mounir (10/5): Great Resort in Paje - Staff was amazing from Julius the General manager to Simba the dedicated staff to our family. everyone was welcoming and full of warmth.
The concept of dedicating someone from the team to take care of you at the restaurant was amazing. Jumua Simba did a great job.
Restaurant was great. We had the best food you can have in a trip. Very generous quantities and a wide variety of choices.
The SPA was great.
the location on the best side of the Paje beach was a blessing. The resort was an oasis of calmness and very suitable for families. No distractions and no touristic noise.
It's an ideal place for relaxation. Shower needs some attention. certain things are a bit pricy.
- Edwin (10/5): Attractive hotel with lovely staff - One of the most attractive hotels I've ever stayed at. Wonderful staff – Martini and Muhammed looked after us particularly well! The hotel's facilities are all extremely pleasant – lovely furniture, beautiful gardens, nice pool. Dinner and breakfast are very good.
- Estencia (10/5): A truly unforgettable 5-star experience at Kisiwa on the Beach — from the exceptional service by Simba to the delicious - Words truly fall short when it comes to describing our unforgettable stay at Kisiwa on the Beach Resort in Zanzibar. From start to finish, everything was absolute perfection — this place is more than a resort; it’s a sanctuary of pampering, peace, and paradise. 🌴✨
Let’s start with the staff — every single person we encountered was warm, professional, and genuinely caring. But a special shoutout to Simba, our incredible waiter, who went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. Simba’s service was exceptional — thoughtful, attentive, and so kind. He made us feel truly seen and celebrated. Thank you, Simba, for taking such good care of us — you are a gem! 💫
We were spoiled every day with amazing food — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. And the birthday cake… wow. It was absolutely delicious, and honestly one of the best we’ve ever had! Moist, perfectly sweet, and presented with so much joy.
Speaking of joy — the dancing, the music, the birthday songs — everything felt like a celebration of life and love. The attention to detail in every moment, from the room setup to the personalized service, was mind-blowing. Every touch felt intentional and full of heart.
The resort itself is stunning — clean, beautifully designed, and set against the breathtaking turquoise waters of Zanzibar. We truly felt like royalty. 👑
If you’re looking for a place that combines natural beauty, outstanding hospitality, delicious food, and a soul-soothing atmosphere, Kisiwa on the Beach is it. This is a 5-star experience in every possible way — worth every single penny and then some.
Thank you, Kisiwa team, for a stay we will never forget. We’re already dreaming of coming back. 💙🌊 Nothing
- Gamuchirai (8/5): Serene Beach Front Stay. - Cleanliness, Room Size, Courteousness of the staff, beach front , private plunge pool Breakfast - limited options, and it really an average breakfast for $500/night stay , Food was served cold ( luke-warm)
Pillows are stiff they could add fluffy/feather pillows or present a pillow menu (pillows really will make a big difference in terms of I room comfort).
- Kiran (10/5): Tranquil - Everything
- Chris (10/5): Amazing stay looked after by amazing staff. Even provided with take away breakfast when we left for safari at 04.30. Tha - Great staff who cater for all needs.
- Divya (9/5): Excellent stay! Great location and Value! - Staff is super helpful especially Osiwa! The place has a great location right on paje beach! Not one to be missed!
- Ayşegül (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alen (10/5): A beautiful week in Kisiwa resort <3 - Probably one of the best hotel/resort in Paje area and maybe even in Zanzibar overall.
The resort is brand new, curated in every detail, huge private mini villas with private swimming pools.
The interiors are very nice, combined with the surrounding nature and mixed at best.
From the point of view of the facility, you will struggle to find something nicer and better included in the nature.
The food is extraordinarily good, we had half board so breakfast and dinner, quality of the products is amazing, the quantity and the variety of the food is on the level of the best restaurant in Zanzibar (tried may of them) personally we could not ask for more.
Particular point to be noted is the Staff, from the manager to the last cleaner present in the resort they are all extremely nice, supportive, attentive in any of your needs and often anticipating the same.
Team is well well trained brining your overall experience to a great lev, to give you an idea to increase and make your staying smoother you will have the same waiter/responsible for you for breakfast and dinner so she learn your preferences, details and what do you like the most.
Not to forget the beach in front (connected) to the resort which makes everything perfect. Nothing to be not liked, price is on a higher side but for this kind of service and place nothing to comment negative.

- Sarah (10/5): Beautiful villas, attentive staff, delicious food! - The room was spacious and beautiful, stayed in beach villa with private pool and was perfect for our honeymoon. - Jerico (7/5): Amazing ... - Everthing was so good, speacially the staff, they were all Friendly and sweets. I didn't like the fact of staying for short time. I wich i could stay more kkkkkk
- Melisa (10/5): Alles was perfect - We were welcomed with a big smile and a welcome drink after a long journey. The room included half board (breakfast& Dinner), and we were always welcomed by Khalfan our own personal waiter. He is the best, his service is great and sincere. We had great conversations, and he taught us even Swahili. BIG compliments to him and all the staff. I would defitnley recommend this to other travelers.
- Paul (10/5): Amazing Kisiwa on the Beach experience - Everything is exceptionally crafted with the guest comfort in mind.
Had the most amazing holiday rest time,
Had never been to a hotel facility where a guest is assigned a specific waiting staff - and all staff are so courteous and literally pamper you from arrival to checkout.
Amazing holiday destination facility!! There's nothing not to like..
Everything is crafted to entice the guests to want to go back...
indeed we will return again this year!
- Shahïn (8/5): Very good -
- Doina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sreeshna (10/5): A calm, wonderful property right at the beachfront - An excellent place overall! Having access to a great beach was the highlight. The property is quiet and serene since the rooms are well spaced, so it’s the ideal place to relax. The staff are absolutely lovely, we felt so well taken care of the whole time. The food spread could have better options sometimes, I would’ve liked to see more local food options included in the menu.
- Michaela (10/5): Exceptional -
