Guest Reviews
- Beeishappy (2/5): When reality hits hard.....
- Andrew (10/5): - Cc
- David (7/5): Good -
- Anais (7/5): A few weeks in Bangkok - It’s 10 minutes walk to Superbon training camp! 5 minutes to a laundry, and 8 to the nearest 7/11!
Staff was really friendly and I really enjoyed the food served at the restaurant.
Also enjoyed a bit of sun by the pool. You have to request to have your room cleaned
- Alex (6/5): Strange things happen - Something strange happen in the Discothek beside of the hotel. After I talked to several person on multiple phones (included someone who pretended to be from the FBI) the police were coming and tried to solve the situation. A loud shoot was fallen. Maybe the woman from the "FBI" got killed. The police even was shocked but didnt do anything and left without doing researches. Tell me what happen? And tell me how i should respect something like that ? I think the owner is maybe involved in identity theft and more. At least he stole a woman with sone butterflys on her skirt. Maybe all of that were just coincidinces.
- Markus (9/5): Will definitely stay again. - Really nice area backed up against some trees and an open field. We got a kick out of watching the tree mice in the tops of the palm trees at night. Lots of birds chirping about. Pool was nice and staff very accommodating.
- Caroline (7/5): Pleasant and affordable. It was located near Superbon Muay Thai camp, which was great. - I liked the location, room size, and the balcony with the pool view. My first room smelled like cigarretes and wasnt properly clean (had hair on the floor). At one point, there was no water in the bathroom, so the staff relocated me to a better room.
- Aurore (8/5): - Chambre très propre. Personnel très gentil et réactif ! Le restaurant de l’hôtel est excellent !
- Bando (8/5): Good staff and clean cafe and pool area. Shopping centre very close by. - Super close to superbon training camp. No washing machine and food at the cafe.
- Amanda (9/5): Enjoyable and cosy, will come back again 💞 - Very cosy and clean!! Wifi wasn’t available during our stay :(
- nazleenn2024 (4/5): Very disappointing and dissatisfied - Our experience was quite disappointing. While the staff seemed to understand English, it felt like they were unwilling to communicate with us. We booked our stay with breakfast through Booking.com, but discovered upon arrival that breakfast wasn't available. Additionally, the site mentioned an on-site restaurant, which they later said did not exist. This left us without nearby options for food.
We also booked a pool view room, but could barely see the pool from our assigned room. On the plus side, the room smelled nice, but the bed was extremely hard, we only had two pillows, and there was no hair dryer. We couldn’t even change the language on the TV, rendering it unusable. The lobby and pool areas were nice, and the pool was the only highlight of our stay.
- Vasile (7/5): Good -
- Leila (2/5): There was a cockroach in my room. -
- Jan (7/5): Good - good location better speak English ! :-)
- C (10/5): Great place - Everything
- Ahsan (8/5): Very quiet. Comfortable. Convenient if you’re training at the Superbon Training Camp. - It’s nice and quiet. The pool was great. Air conditioning and shower worked well. Bed was comfortable. There are a few decent local restaurants on the street outside. It’s very close to the Superbon Training Camp, which is convenient. The closest 7/11 is over ten minutes away. There’s no elevator.
- Ayman (9/5): Superb -
- Jeromie (6/5): Pleasant - Leaving Aircon issues , pool and surrounding was in poor condition
- Timothy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tyler (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were amazing and the area is nice, perfect if your training at superbon training camp
- Chatree (6/5): Pleasant -
- Chooin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thai (10/5): Nice casual hotel room - I booked this place cause it was close to Superbon’s training camp. Great little place just off the high road with easy access to many things like food stalls, restaurants, 7/11. Staff were nice and so was their pet dog and cat! Room could have been cleaner or updated.
- Anonymous (1/5): Bad - All badly serviced. The room is not right
- Jentai (6/5): Reasonable - - Location is so close to many night clubs
- Reasonable price
- Good staffs - No elevator
- No ventilator in bathroom
- No cotton buds
- No hair dryer
- Thin walls (you can even hear next door foot steps)
- Melvin (8/5): Very good -
- Phoumanininh (8/5): Very good -
- Nathalie (5/5): Not as advertised. We didn't have the basics that we were expecting in the room. - There was a pool. There were no bugs. I didn't like that staff from the furniture store were hanging around the pool. It made us uncomfortable and we didn't want to swim because of it. Communication with staff was difficult. There was no breakfast for us. Despite it saying there was breakfast provided. There was no kettle in the room and there was not hair dryer. All of which were advertised on booking.com. It was not what we thought we were booking.
There seemed to be several side businesses being run, I assume in order to survive the covid. I guess at one point it was a very nice hotel, and still has the potential to be such. I hope to see it liven back up and be what it once was. Unfortunately our stay was not comfortable because of it. Felt like the odds ones out. Didn't see many other guests. And there seemed to be family unfriendly business going on in the back rooms of the hotel.
- Anonymous (4/5): Disappointing -
- Daniel (8/5): - They have a beautiful pool area and are right next door to some cool night life locations
- Lauren (6/5): - Stayed here for 4 days, not once did staff come and clean the room, change the towels or anything.. bin was overflowing. And got charged for drinking water when they told me on arrival water was free
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- wm (6/5): - The rooms were inexpensive. No daily maid service, however.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice place. Staff is welcoming, very well spotted. Lots of accomodation around. Bars, restaurant, muay thai gym
- Verified traveler (6/5): -
- LluuTravellover (6/5): Dissapointed - I did stay there for several times during my last business trips in Bangkok. Problems happened in most of my stays but my last stays on Apr 10th, 2018 was extremely terrible. The light bulb burnt out, no hot water and everything's not been fixed even when the problems were informed to receptionists several times. It was very bad since I came back the hotel at night, after a long working day and I had to use such cold water to take a shower. I had to wait till next day to change the room and still no hot water. The hot water seems to be only available just when you ask the receptionists and they only allow you to take a shower with hot water in around 5' and then cut off, you have to use cold water then. It was very annoying! Besides, my last stay was a 4-night stay but the room's only cleaned once, they just ignored my requests.
- Michael (6/5): Not a bad hotel - Overall, I have to say the experience is quite good.
Though I am not able to speak thai, the staff were able to help me check in.
For the 1st day of the accommodation, as this may have been their first time dealing with a booking from Expedia, they did not prepare any breakfast for me even though I had made a purchase for it. But I appreciated greatly that they realised their mistake and tried to make do with what little ingredients they had to cook up a meal for me. I liked how they reacted to the situation.
For a 3 star hotel, I'll probably give a rating of 4 star for the overall experience.
- Yeo (4/5): Hotel staff barely understood simple English.
- The receptionist called my room at 1.30am while I was asleep , and insisted i make my way down to the reception immediately to pay room charges for my next day room extension .
- 335nicon (2/5): Only 5 Minutes! - Not again. After 5 minutes we left the hotel. Green Pool and a dirty room who would love an maintenance. You can book a room for 3 hours (...) no words needed. Please stay away. Right from the hotel is a Club who looks like a "special" Club.
- Sujaree (10/5): So nice - Lovely.
- TThomas00 (4/5): Close to Banchamek gym - Cute little place away from the hustle & bustle of the city but theres a brothel right next door & they use the rooms of the hotel, you see allot of girls coming in and out of the rooms most nights & you can hear them too. We stayed here as it was close to Banchamek gym & had a pool but still without a scooter it was too far out.The pool looks really dirty did not use it once, the staff are really friendly & breakfast was nice but yeah the whole brothel and the loud noises at night became really annoying...
- tldxr (2/5): Poor customer service - None of the reception staff speaks English. When I first checked in, my friend had arrived earlier and I asked for our room number, they didn't understand or didn't care to understand and insisted that I call my friend who was sleeping and mobile was on silent. (I can't call the room phone if I don't have the room number can I?). I ended up trying in vain to call for over 20 mins, throughout which the staff did not invite me to sit down in the lobby, they just happily chatted along themselves. When I finally insisted that I can't be waiting around when I already have a room here, they finally brought me to my room.
They also did not explain to my friend which water was payable and which was complimentary - we ended up using the payable one because of their poor directions.
The night reception staff was v rude - he wasn't able to understand my question so I showed him the translation on my phone. He took my phone and didn't return it to me until after I asked for it back three times. When I was trying to understand the bill, he was incredibly dismissive and just insisted that I pay when I don't even understand what I'm paying for. He went back to doing his own thing and refused to give me my room key (which we had left with reception) until I paid despite not knowing what the bill was for. (And I wasn't even checking out yet + the hotel already had my credit card details, it's not like I'm going to be running away in the middle of the night.)
My friend's bag had many ants in it overnight as well, despite not having any food in the bag.
Only amenities are towels, soap, shampoo and toothbrush. No room slippers. Toilet had a huge water damage mark on the ceiling. No housekeeping.
You get what you pay for, the room is cheap, but service can be massively improved. At the very least, don't be rude to your guests.
- GoneForLong (6/5): Hotel with a THAI twist - We originally booked this hotel because of the nice 'Scandinavian touch' pictures in Bangkok and primarily the location between Suvarnabhumi airport and Don Muang for regional low coast flights. The hotel is located about halfway between, so excellent. WE decided to use the hotel as a hub for a suitcase because of later trip to New Zealand.
The first impression is ok, a bit away from the highway, palm tree garden and pool (could be a bit cleaner) and modest rooms but with basically all you need.
The harder part is almost nobody speaks English so you have to be a bit creative..
Staff is friendly, American breakfast was top (on a hot sizzling plate!), and the little restaurant just outsidethe hotel (part of Oun) pleased us very much!
The hotel is far away from the city centre, so if you are looking for this it is a NO GO,
but the quiet location is unique for Bangkok.
Wifi works round the lobby, Suggestion : block internet for the staff !!!
- Cap Scott D (8/5): I love this hotel , breakfast delicious and lovely - Room is comfortable and great value
- Parosite (10/5): A different Bangkok experience - If you are into the Kao San party scene and like to socialize with fellow travellers, stop reading now!
If you seek a reasonably priced hotel with pool set in a lovely tropical garden and want to meet genuine Thai people off the beaten tourist track in a residential neighbourhood this place might be perfect for you.
We actually stayed here twice, 3 nights upon arrival in early January and again for 2 nights at the end of our trip in late March. The staff offered to store our largest suitcase for free in the meantime.
The location is indeed weird and you are in for a long commute if you want to go to central Bangkok every day. It can be expensive if you use taxis and it is not always easy to find a driver to take you that far out. During our last night we learned there actually is a bus stop about 1.5 km South with direct public buses to the Centre and Chatuchak, knowledge which would have saved us some taxi fares.
The neighbourhood itself is actually worth exploring and we learned to love it. While there are a couple of massage places and fancy bars with (too much?) female staff, it is only a 1 minute walk to several local eateries, which are both cheap and delicious. We were lucky enough to run into Thai people who never see foreigners and eager to practise their English, whom we saw again during our last stay and consider friends now.
Otherwise it is about 5 minutes on foot South to the closest seveneleven and several ATMs, 10 minutes North to a night market and about 20 minutes to the Tesco hypermarket and the new Eastville shopping mall.
About the hotel itself: Staff is friendly, speak rudimentary English and we didn’t have any trouble to organize luggage storage, late checkout and airport taxi.
We were the only ones to use the pool in the lovely garden, the water was clean and they did major improvements in the outside areas between January and March.
Rooms are fitted with AC, TV, fridge, large bathrooms, huge beds and balcony (you have to ask for chairs). WIFI worked perfectly. Very comfortable for the price it actually feels like the Ritz after months of budget hotels and beach huts.
Rooms on the ground floor are more quiet than upstairs.
Give it a try and see if you enjoy it as much as we did!
- steph h. (6/5): Hotel without lifts. - The hotel room is okay. But they have no hair dryer provided.
There is no lift for the hotel, we have to walk up the stairs with heavy luggage with no help from the hotel staffs.
It will be noisy during the night because of the pub nextdoor.
- BeBe1603 (6/5): water in swimming pool not clear at all - It's nice of reception helpful and very good service. Food take long time to have after order, very testy we love and enjoyed it. Wifi doesn't work in the room need to walk to lobby to used it.
The worst part over here that make us disappointed is water in swimming pool. shower in the room got mould.
But disign of hotel is good and quiet.
- Yaoxin (8/5): - The pool is dirty.
- jakey (6/5): Nice hotel! - Very nice play to stay although it takes about 15-20 mins to get to Bangkok although that's without traffic. Nice places to eat and bars on the same road, we worry about bugs and bed bugs but this had none.
- 44countries (10/5): Peacefull Hideaway in a chaotic city! - Located in Northern Bangkok, Oun Hotel is far away from the central part of the city. It's actually in between BOTH airports of Thailand. About 25 minutes from Suvanapoon and Don Muang. I stay here every year. Great staff, but ZERO english. Make sure you use your Thai vocab app, I recommend paiboon app. Only about 28$ per night. Hope this info helped.
- ChiwitKongNakMuay (8/5): The good, bad and the ugly... - Stayed 5 nights, which is longer than most would stay because it was close to the famous Banchamek Muaythai gym which I went daily for training. The Good - The hotel grounds and garden well kept and the pool was surrounded by frangipani trees..quite lovely design and the hotel kitchen served up tasty food and drinks. The front desk reception ladies were extremely helpful to suggest where to shop because this hotel is in the middle of no where. The nearest shopping mall is Bangkapi Mall and Tawana market which is worth a visit if you need to shop. It is approx 10kms or 100baht by taxi. One can also walk 3kms to Tesco on the main road. The rooms were spacious and air conditioning cool.
The Bad - It was advertised that there is wifi in the rooms..but it was impossible to connect. I had to walk and spend time at the hotel lobby to get internet connection. Frustrating too,was the hotel had only 2 English channels, none serving world news. MTV and one which promotes tourism.
The Ugly - I stayed 5nights and not even ONCE,did the cleaners do the room..Wasnt sure how that system works!! I had to ask the cleaners for soap gel..and thought they would clean the room..not once.
The biggest setback was cleaners didn't do their job and wifi isn't given as advertised. Big disappointment there. Hotel on its own was excellent decor wise and spaciousness.
- Jo_From_Reading (8/5): We thought the pool was great - Very nice rooms all round the big pool.
Water and snacks available from the mini bar. Clean and quiet except for the cockerel who woke me up too early.
Taxi drivers found it a hard hotel to find even with the address but once we got here I was very happy with our choice.
All in all a very pleasant one night stay.
