- Nicole (7/5): - The price More pillows
- Richard (10/5): -
- Lund (1/5): - I only stayed 5 minutes after checked in. Their television sets weren't working and they had no idea when they would get them working again. Definitely not over the weekend. I still haven't received my refund. They did not tell me the televisions weren't working. I planned my stay to chill and watch tv while the guys were hunting.
- corey (1/5): -
- John (4/5): - Had not breakfast. Even when when website said they had one .
- Michael (1/5): Didn’t get to stay property was abandoned - Nothing It was closed looked abandoned
- Melissa (2/5): DON’T BOOK. Hotel is closed - They took my money with prepay only option and they are CLOSED. The building is locked and shut down. Now I’m trying to get my money back with very poor help from hotels.com.
- Stacey (2/5): - This hotel is closed
- Caylee (1/5): Terrible with no information, dangerous - Nothing. We reserved this room and the hotel was abandoned! Everything. We reserved our room and when we arrived the hotel was abandoned. And we had a sketchy encounter with a homeless man that was outside the property.
- Jedidiah (2/5): - We couldn’t, it’s CLOSED! ABANDONED! DOESNT EXIST!!!! TAKE IT OFF YOUR SITE
- Jeff (2/5): - When I arrived, they were closed for remodel
- Heidi (2/5): - I showed up and there was nobody there. I guess they’re repairing water systems and the repair people were there to explain that to me.
- Eric (1/5): Horrible! Hotel is as closed, under construction! This listing should not be listed to reserve - I arrived at hotel and facility was closed, under construction. I paid in advance and I am unable to get refund. This property has no business being advertised by Booking.com Hotel was closed! Under construction! Horrible!
- Richard (2/5): - I booked this hotel through Hotels.com. I arrived at 7:00 PM on 6/6/25 and the place was closed for business! I did not get to check in and was left stranded. I was lucky to find another hotel down the road, but after travelling all day, this was a terrible experience. You should vet your hotels better. Please make sure I don't get charged for this. The attached photo shows the itenerary number.
- Bruce (2/5): - The F-ing hotel was closed and out of business!!!!!!!!!!!! AND you took my money so I had to declare fraud on my card!!!!!!!
- Beverly (2/5): - There was a closed sign on door and no answer when pounded on door. No cars in parking lot. 3 rooms had lights on but mattresses were off bed and standing against wall. No lights on outside of hotel Looked like bates motel on psycho.
- Mark (1/5): Unable to stay, not open. - No breakfast, motel not open for business. Unable to check in for room and stay for night on Nov 9th. Motel was not open for business.
- Mary (2/5): - This property is vacant and closed. I was very disgusted. Be sure I will not be paying that credit card bill! I was afraid I would not be able to find a place to stay at 9:30 on a Friday night. I had stopped by there twice earlier, no staff and no cars anywhere!
- Warren (8/5): Very good -
- John (2/5): hotel was closed for business - The hotel was no longer in business. The doors were locked. A cashier at a gas station said they closed two weeks ago.
- Angela (2/5): Scam - It was shut down and we were unable to stay there
- Jeremy (2/5): - They never said anything to expedia or people with reservations that they had been shutdown!! No calls to find another place, showed up for my reservation and there was no one at the place at all!!
- Louann (1/5): Bad - The hotel is CLOSED down. I HAD NO STAY!!
- Nancy (2/5): - I made a reservation and paid in advance, then called the hotel itself to make sure they had it. They said they did. On the day I was supposed to check in, there was no staff on site. The phone number to call said they were trying to reach their one staff member to come and check me and another guest in. We waited two hours! In the end I made a reservation at a different hotel. Just take this one off your list.
- Charles (2/5): - When I arrived at the front desk, there was no one present to check me in. A note on the counter had a phone number, which I called. No answer and the voicemail was full. I waited 10 to 15 minutes and left and drove home to southern Minnesota.
- Terese (2/5): - I never got to stay there was no nobody at the desk for over 3 hours and 9:00 at night I still did not have a room and Expedia did nothing to help me I will never use the service again ever and I will tell as many as my friends
- Angela (2/5): - No one ever came to check us in and we waited 2 hours. Ended driving home to go to sleep.
- Joe (1/5): Disappointed- won’t be staying there in the future - I was over charged.
The front desk person did not know how to check me in and someone over the phone requested my cc and then charged me more than what booking .com quotes me.
Also two of the room lights did not work. It was not the bulbs
- Michelle (2/5): - There were no employees to check us in so we never stayed there. Made multiple phone calls and they kept telling us someone was on their way. We waited over two hours and no one showed up.
- Gregory A (2/5): - Staff had quit because they had not been paid. Nobody at the front desk!!
- Sydney (4/5): - The room was adequate, the bed was fair. There was no staff in the office except a temporary friend who manned the desk for a little while and then left. No breakfast although it was advertised. There were no cups or glasses in the room. Contact with staff was by phone, no receipt was given. Not at all welcoming and not likely we would ever stay here again.
- Bryan (4/5): - The sheets where dirty, the breakfast was none existance, only thing to drink was coffee no juice, and waffles was the only option for breakfast no taost or anything else. Very disappointing. Room took forever to cool since AC was not on until we got to room.
- Susie (6/5): - There was a smell in the hallway. Even though it was just reopened and remodeled there was paint missing on the walls. The beds were fairly comfortable. The new staff were friendly and helpful.
- Dwight (4/5): - It was a basic hotel with nothing special. Room was clean but AC wasnt cold and whole place needs updating. Seemed to be a bit high on cost. Lastly continental breakfast left a bit to be desired.
- Donald (10/5): Brainerd drag race - The couple running this hotel were so friendly and helpful.
- Mckaila (4/5): - Nice people but it was just an odd set up and my one key didn’t work and everytime I went up to let them know there wasn’t anyone there. But the staff was very nice just an odd set up.
- Lieah (8/5): Bed was comfortable and is good for just a place to drop down at night. - Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was sparse, items were not kept filled.
- Joan (10/5): - When we checked in the manager was very friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Refrigerator did’t work.
- Heather (6/5): - Over priced for a out of date room
- Gregory (10/5): - Fine
- James (8/5): Affordable, but needs work. - Very friendly staff, good advice on where to get dinner. Breakfast was sad. And the deadbolt on the door wouldn't lock.
- Harold (8/5): Very good - Didn't have breakfast
- Navigate678112 (2/5): Double Charged and Refuse to Issue Refund - I reserved a room on Travelocity and was also charged by the hotel for the same night so double charged. When I requested a refund the manager refused to issue a refund. I am very disappointed that they are making me go through this situation and refusing to issue a refund when I requested it in person.
- Nancy (9/5): Otherwise it was clean the Staff was very friendly - There wasn't any breakfast Vending machines didn't work, couldn't get tv to work
- Connolly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (8/5): Very good - Perfect location off Hwy 10. Clean, comfortable, friendly. Cameras at the desk and in the hall made me feel secure A little dated, but you can tell improvements have been made.
- Sharon (6/5): - Door to room not locked. AC not cooling the room. TV remote did not work. Room was clean, sign outside not lite up.
- Jessie (5/5): Passable -
- Leonard (6/5): Pleasant - The manager was very nice and helpful. The pillows were flat and hard. The toilet rocked.
- Samantha (10/5): - Tammy was very nice and helpful! Ill be staying here anytime im in the area .
- Joseph (10/5): Excellent place to stay. I highly recommend it. - Staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. Any requests you had were promptly tended to. Nothing.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Dan (8/5): Very good - Nice staff and affordable.
- Tammy (8/5): Very good -
- James (2/5): - Desk clerk had 10 guests waiting 45 minutes to check in while he went to Wal-Mart and then had an attitude with guests.
Toilet plugged but not resolved. No shower curtain on shower. Towel rack improperly installed and fell off wall. Contential breakfast offering was a few sticky buns and instant oatmeal with no way to heat water and no spoons. Handle for hot water faucet missing in Breakfast room. Desk clerk entered room twice during evening using passkey without knocking. Management gave impression of not caring at all.
- Sheila (1/5): Hotel is closed!!!!!!!! - It was closed and still listed on bookings. Com Closed
- David (1/5): Bad -
- Paul (4/5): - The room didn’t feel secure.
- Debora (7/5): Good -
- Brenda (2/5): - I wrote my review on google. Not worth the money. Place is falling apart. Camera at front desk was our customer service. Noisy all night. Room was falling apart and bathroom was a disaster.
- Michelle (7/5): Good -
- sharon (4/5): - Ther were no kleenex or soap in the room - no complimentary breakfast
- Crystal (10/5): - Very friendly staff, very clean. Was lacking a few immensities such as soap and shampoo…….
- Rose (4/5): - No continental breakfast. No soap in bathroom. Leaky toilet. No staff at front desk.
- Timothy (2/5): - We were not able to check in and had to find alternate lodging in the area. My wife said based on the appearance and general impression of the property she would rather sleep in our vehicle. The picture shown is a misrepresentation of the property. We were required to use a phone to contact staff, that call was never returned. No staff in attendance.
- Cheryl (7/5): Pretty nice but wish the breakfast was better. - Simple and clean Continental breakfast was lacking. Only had bagels and biscuits with gravy.
- Cheryl (5/5): Passable -
- Beth (8/5): - Manager was great. Went the extra mile for us. Clean rooms and quiet
- Johnson (8/5): It was there when I needed it. - It was an okay breskfast it was a Begal
& cream cheese and orange juice. The motel was next to a Family Dollar store.
- Deb (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rick (8/5): - Free breakfast had very few options. Parking area was narrow and required some maneuvering to get out of a parking place. Manager is very helpful and easy to get along with.
- Barry (6/5): - The managers were a young couple new to the establishment. They had their hands full doing it all themselves, but they were very friendly and accommodating. I would stay again.
- Sassy58 (8/5): Friendly and would stay there again - It was easy to find, clean and very kind helpful staff Needs to be updated and bed wasn’t very comfortable but was good for the price.
- Leisha (2/5): Very poor - Pretty quiet which was a surprise. Floors were dirty crap all over the sides of the walls and on the stairs. My coffee pot was missing a piece I could not make any coffee. There was no coffee in the so-called breakfast area. The lady at the front desk and the gentleman that own the place were very nice. A lot of work needs to be done in this building.
- John (10/5): - Nice
- John (8/5): - Nice
- Verified traveler (4/5): Many issues! - There was no one at the desk when we arrived to check in. Was about to leave for another hotel when someone finally showed. Door wasn't closed when we went to our room appearing someone may be in the room. Room door was difficult to lock. Knocked on our door during the night claiming our credit card charge didn't work. I showed them the charge had gone through on my card hours earlier. Advertised free breakfast. There wasn't anything.
- Jon (3/5): Unsatisfied complete do to dope heads hanging outside office door and aggressive dog in hallway - They didn't have supplys for breakfast Having staff patrol lot so people weren't smoking pot ,so my kids didn't have to be exposed or subjected to that and actually have breakfast supplys for my kids or customers in general
- David L (8/5): Trip to Deer Creek. - Room was adequate for my wife and I. Clean and comfortable. Hotel is quite worn. Most electrical receipts are worn and very loose fitting. Could create a fire hazard. Staff was most delightful.
- Charles (10/5): - Randy was excellent to deal with. He was very friendly and helpful.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scott (8/5): - Staff was very helpful
- Tracy (3/5): If Randy wouldn’t have been as kind and thoughtful as he was this would have been an awful stay but because he was havin - Randy was awesome and our room was clean. The Wi-Fi only worked in part of the hotel, not our part. The breakfast was very limited, the drink vending machine was out of order, the snack vending machine had 2 things in it, the security cameras were plugged into the wall and in random spots.
- Dan (2/5): Updates and staffing needed - Mr. Lewis was courteous and hospitable considering the many hats he wore between cleaning and managing a hotel. Beds and bedding were clean and comfortable. No A/C and breakfast was inadequate. No beverages, fruit, protein, and bitter coffee with coffee grounds in the carafe that spewed into my cup both days. Mold in the bathrooms. Needs to be updated severely. No wifi connection unless you/your device was at the front desk.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. WiFi did not work in our room. Breakfast was lacking choices.
- JoAnna (10/5): Great stay - Great stay. Nice, clean, affordable motel. Hotel manager was personable and very helpful.
- Mary (6/5): Sorry, but do not recommend this motel. - Randy is polite, professional and has a great sense of humor! Property is dated and worn out! The entire structure needs new paint, flooring, bathroom fixtures, beds, bedding and furniture. Hot coffee and breakfast would be nice, also.
- Melanie (4/5): The rooms are very outdated, floors creaked, door locks barley worked. Bagels and coffee was it for -
- Brenda (4/5): - The staff member that checked us in was great!
The hotel could use some major updates.
The room we stayed in had a broken security latch on the door to the room and the cold handle in the shower didn’t work. Needless to say we didn’t get to shower. The hotel looks great from the outside but the inside needs work. The room was nice and clean, I will give it that. The room was also pretty quiet.
- Matthew (3/5): Family vacation - Not much Bathroom has bugs in the tub, blanket smelled like it sat in the wash machine for a day or 2, beer was left in the refrigerator from a previous stay. Glad our kids was older and knew not to touch it. Other room had a plastic bag over the smoke alarm which was very concerning. No one at the front desk. Had to call a number and wait 15 min to get checked out. Any time you had a question no one at the front desk to answer any questions. It was a self help hotel. Very unsatisfied will not go back.
- sharon (8/5): - Quiet
- Adam (5/5): Passable -
- Richard (6/5): - The place was clean and friendly staff when you could find them breakfast was not what is advertised very little to choose mainly coffee and a bagel
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Clean room friendly service Breakfast was poor, not alot to chose from no cups or plates, needs alot of upgrades
- Jeff (8/5): Very good -
- Adam (10/5): - The room was nicly made
- Douglas (10/5): - Of the low rent motels I have stayed at while biking across Minnesota, this was probably the nicest. The room was clean and modern. Everything worked.
The town has nothing going for it at all. If you happen to spend the night, by all means avoid the Mexican restaurant near by. It was expensive and downright bad.
- William (8/5): Very good - Manager immediately recognized me as a motorcycle rider and, offered to put my bike in the garage with his due to severe weather in the area. Much appreciated! Manager is a Great guy! Very helpful! Nothing
- douglase807 (8/5): Better than expected - This place was fine. The room was modern, clean, and everything worked.
The town itself has nothing going for it. Definitely just a stopover.
I took the clerk’s recommendation to go to the local Mexican place. It was awful. And overpriced. When was the last time you had a $15 margarita where they filled up the glass with soda water? Technically that’s not even a margarita. The food was no better. $77 for one person.
- Julianne (10/5): - Vey friendly staff.
Room was clean and the price was right for a one night stay.
