Guest Reviews
- Stephen (2/5): Possibly the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. We left a day early and booked a room elsewhere. - Did not get breakfast because of the loud employee throwing bananas into the bowl while dropping f-bombs for some unknown reason. All furniture in our room was scraped, chipped, worn out - I’ve seen better furniture in frat houses. The bed was adequate. Also, did I mention the loud employee throwing bananas into the bowl while dropping f-bombs for some unknown reason?
- Helen (5/5): Affordable rates and basic needs are met. - We arrived much earlier than the check in time. When I reached out to the property via booking, I was advised to call the morning of the reservation. I called first thing and was offered a check in time of 1:30, rather than the standard 3pm. There was no extra charge.
The bed was comfortable and the linens and towels were clean, and the shower had good pressure. Coffee and hot water are available 24/7. There is a great breakfast and lunch restaurant around the corner from the property - Maple and Yolk, and there is also a Circle K within walking distance for any convenience store needs. Staff were nice and helpful as much as they were allowed within the property's guidelines. Our bathroom smelled strongly of cigarette and marijuana smoke. We had to keep the fan on continuously to help with the smell. There is a sign on the door that there is NO SMOKING of cigarettes or marijuana in the rooms or bathrooms. I let the person at the front desk know that it wasn't us! She said the building is old and the smell is in the vents. It smelled pretty fresh to me.
There is no holding of luggage, so we had to wait in the small lobby with our luggage until we could check in - for about 1.5 hours. We would have rather stored our luggage and go exploring around the campus.

- Amitabh (9/5): Wonderful - Great location. Clean room.
- SUSAN (3/5): - cleanliness White bread, high sugar only cereal, unhealthy breakfast
NO shower bars in the shower!!! This is really bad as our nation ages.
Woman at check in made confusing statements. Like'You didn't pay us-you paid a third party, we need to take your charge card again" WHAT-scared me. She should have said "welcome, please swipe your card in case any additional charges." Not friendly.

- Janeen (2/5): It was awful - The lady at the front desk was very nice. The foyer smelled horribly of weed. Mouse poop on the bed under the pillow. The entrance of our serving room smelled like cat urine. Every single time someone went in or out of a room, the doors would SLAM. The place was in complete disrepair. It sounded like wild horses galloping above us. And even better - listening to the couple having sex in the room next to us. At 8am the next morning, hearing people YELLING down the hall was ridiculous. The fact that I am a person that tries not to complain, and give the benefit of the doubt, tested every part of my being at this hotel.
- Leo (5/5): - Very noisy. Paper thin walls.
- Terri (8/5): -
- Betty (8/5): -
- Zuzana (5/5): Nothing special, just roof over my head. - Convince Run down feeling.
- Kyle (4/5): -

- Schroeder (10/5): - Room was clean and staff friendly. From the outside I was discouraged but inside was amazing. No tv view from hot tub. Pool.is down
- Elroy (10/5): -
- Lidia (8/5): It was great! - I liked that we were able to have a later check out. They have us more towels when needed. Maybe providing conditioner and body wash other than that it was great!

- Li (8/5): Very good service and experience. - Very good breakfast during UIUC graduation period. None

- Rosalba (7/5): A working trip to the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) - I missed breakfast at this time but I had the chance to have it during an earlier stay at the Rodeway INN (May 2025). Nothing fancy but it was appropriate for my needs. Contacting the property at the contact phone number listed by Booking.com did no work at the time I called (8-9 pm). I used another number I found under their Rodeway INN website and the person who answered gave me misleading information by stating that he could not see my Booking reservation and that probably I did not have a reservation. But when I checked in (ca 10:30pm) there was another front desk person who quickly and efficiently checked me in!

- Angie (4/5): Soso - Location is good. I could not connect WiFi
- David (8/5): -
- Robin (6/5): - Very close to the venue we needed to attend. Tried to be clean but felt old and dated. The room was old and had a musty old cigarette smell to it. Linens weee clean but not soft. Breakfast was disappointing. Toast and cereal
- Ronald (8/5): Very well - Everything was good
- Johnny (6/5): - The hotel room smelled like weed and cigarettes as soon as we walked in, was fairly clean but not 100%
- Lenny (8/5): -
- Nursultan (10/5): - Цена и качество соответствовал
- Gale (8/5): - Easy check-in, friendly staff, clean room.
TV was a little blurry but many channels to choose from.
Breakfast selection was minimal.
- Keith (10/5): - Great
- Kimberly (4/5): - The hotel is a dump and they knew that they could charge an arm and leg for homecoming weekend.
Good for them i guess....
- Margaret (8/5): - U
- Mark (10/5): - Clean hotel with friendly, helpful staff at a fair price.
- Ignacio (7/5): -

- Lenny (9/5): Illini football home 🏡 opener. - It is a no frills property but great value, clean and safe.
- Prithwiraj (2/5): - Condition and up keep
- Janet L (8/5): - This was our 2nd stay in a month. We had 2nd floor room which was so much quieter. The rooms are large, clean, have TVs, fridges, & microwaves. The hotel is at the end of an industrial park and secluded. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. There is a small continental breakfast of cereal, bagels, juice, tea, coffee & water. The only negatives are these: the tubs have about a 2 ft side to climb over (I’m 5’2” and the sides come to my knee), the lobby smells like pot in the evenings, and the AC/heat is motion sensitive. So at nite when lites are out and you’re not moving it goes off. When you leave the room during the day, it shuts off. So you walk into a hot room, wake up early in the morning to hot room, etc. The only way we kept it going was by leaving a light on & had a fan going.
- Lonnie (6/5): - Na
- Shaan (5/5): Fine place to stay for visiting the UIUC area - We had a pretty standard hotel experience, nothing special that stood out to us. The breakfast was particularly underwhelming to us, it was all super-processed food that wasn't very appealing. The hotel itself is pretty small and a little outdated.
- Janet L (8/5): - Rooms were spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly. The lobby had small continental breakfast and water. Downside was you can hear everything from the hallway, including ice machine and lobby smelled of pot smoke every evening only. There were always people in the parking lot (usually men) hanging out in the evenings and road leading to hotel was unkept with long grass.
- Scott (10/5): -
- Kevin (10/5): - It was a good place to stay while AudioFeed was going on. Bed was comfortable.
- Carl (2/5): - We left and went elsewhere as there was no air and were supposed to get new room but staff member never came back to help.
- Adriano Avila Queiroz (5/5): Foi uma experiência mas não voltaria outra vez. - Café da manha super fraco. Localização boa. Perto do Walmart.
- Briana (10/5): ABSOLUTELY AMAZING - This was absolutely an amazing stay, the atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff accommodated for my sick dog that we came to Urbana to get treatment for. They made this the easiest part of our trip , especially Trisha and Beau, they are so sweet ! Trisha went out of her way to check the cameras making sure our food delivery wasn’t stolen, this made me feel so comfortable and safe. I know i can trust these people with my life if i ever stay again ! Thank you to everyone who contributed to this amazing stay. If i am in town again i will definitely be spending my night here !
- Eslam (10/5): - Beautiful, clean and spaciuos rooms
- Tim (1/5): No way in hell were we staying - The lady at check in was very nice There was no way we were staying here. A parking lot full of strange people on bicycles loitering and the whole hotel smelled like pot. Out smoke free room wasn't smoke free.. No way. We didn't even try to get a refund. We just left and found a safer location in a nice hotel and chalked this up to a $100 lesson. Left the keys in the room and fled. I rarely leave negative reviews but this was NOT the place for us.
- Avik (7/5): Good - Secured Same breakfast everyday.
- Md. Waliour Rahman (10/5): - Clean and quiet.
- Michelle (8/5): - I liked the convenience of being close to the interstate. We were traveling a long distance and this was a one night stop.
Rooms close to the door are difficult due to people coming in at all hours of the night and the door slamming shut.
- Jennifer (6/5): - Rooms were not kept up. Pillows were flat, bathroom needed to be redone - obvious water damage. Crazy overcharge for graduation weekend.
- Davis (4/5): Disappointing - The WC was choked…very bad
- Johnie (9/5): It was good I would stay here again - Loved the breakfast and all that was available.the variety was nice I just wish had a little bigger place to eat only two tables and 4 chairs needed to take your food back to your room
- Rachel (6/5): - Quite, comfortable room
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Went for spring explosion derby so didn’t stay in room much just to sleep and shower. It was clean and comfortable. And perfect for our needs.
- Daniel (6/5): What you'd expect for the cost. - About what expect for the cost. Building a bit dated but management does good job at keeping up. Breakfast consisted of some muffins and donuts and bananas.
- Carol (5/5): Passable - linens were clean and bright. bathroom was updated and spacious...furniture was dated but that is fine. brown couch hides lots of dirt...don't really like this...it was an overnight stay for us..having a little fridge and microwave option was great! we asked for bedding for the couch and received it right away. brown couches arent doing anything for the room...
- Forrest (8/5): Very good -
- Jernie (5/5): Passable -
- Alana (4/5): - The place was very dingy. Our bath tub had major cracks in it and our toilet barely worked. You had to push the handle multiple times before the toilet would even flush. The sheets were all stained and I’m pretty sure we’re not changed from the last guest. When I pulled back the blanket there were crumbs in the bed.
- Jennifer (8/5): Would stay again - Good location Bedding was not the best
- josh (10/5): - very clean
- Mark (8/5): - Good, easy check in,
- Jack (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (5/5): From was clean but lobby smelled like pot - The lobby and general areas reeked of pot. It smelled when I first walked it. Our room was clean and didn’t smell but eventually the pot smelled creeped in our room.
- Charmaine (6/5): this is a good hotel but not good for longer stays especially since breakfast is included in the total but you are limit - Overall the hotel is good, very quiet. Rooms were clean etc the breakfast option were the same daily.
- Kelly (8/5): Very good - Jacuzzi is perfect and continuous hot water !! Breakfast sucks and would be nice to have 23hr juice n coffee
- Earl (10/5): - Best hotel for the money
- Mathew (2/5): - Cigarette smoke and shower was kinda broken
- Christopher (10/5): - Reasonable
- Matthew (6/5): - Room was decent. There was some damage to the walls that was patched up and most of the wall outlets did not work. Beds were clean and room overall was okay.
- Earl (10/5): Home away from home - Love this hotel when I come into town. Champaign-Urban is my hometown, so I come here a lot. The hotel is always clean and also quiet so you can rest and relax. The best hotel in town for the price.
- Dustin (4/5): It is cheap, u get what u pay for. Avoid! - The hotel staff did an incomplete job checking me in. Never reported that i paid cash. Upon checkout i left the hotel, where immediately they started trying to hit my card on file for the stay. Upon returning to the hotel they acted as if i had not paid cash. They required a manager from another hotel come watch the security footage of me checking in. This took forever, only to see that i indeed paid cash. In this day and age, no hotel lets you check in without paying. This was a scam imo!
