Guest Reviews
- adrian (9/5): Only stayed one night and it was comfortable and spacious would stay again. - Easy access for the motorway The reception was across the road in a different building. It was to warm in the room even with the heating of. The glass bathroom door. Empty water bottle under the chair.
- Josephine (10/5): -
- Sharon (10/5): Defo would recommend this place - Lovely clean rooms. Staff were fab. Beyond helpful
- Simon (9/5): - This was a room for 1 night whilst visiting family, ideally located just off M5. The Lodge is part of the Aztec hotel but separated (an Annex) with its own complimentary parking (with charging if reqd) No down side
- Maureen (4/5): -
- Dave (9/5): -
- Mikolaj (10/5): -
- Lorrayne (8/5): Quiet location - Tye room was in a quiet location Breakfast was included in our deal, but we had to eat in the pub next door, which was a breakfast nap and a hot drink. We thought that breakfast would be in the hotel. The room at the l8dge was also very dark as the walls are painted dark brown and not enough lighting in the room
- Lisa (10/5): - Cleanliness, powerful shower, good location The cafe, which looked like a pub, closed at 5pm. It seemed like they were missing an opportunity to provide a meal and drinks service in the evening which didn't require you to go into the sister restaurant.
- Barry and Betty (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- an (8/5): Prijs kwaliteit top, heel vriendelijk personeel in restaurant Aztec -
- GEERT (7/5): -
- Sophie (9/5): -
- Guest (7/5): -
- Diane (8/5): -
- Sue (9/5): Ideal location and so quiet - booked to go again before we left! - Easy to find, comfortable, quiet room and the Black Sheep was great for afternoon snack & breakfast. Nothing
- Steve (7/5): - It's was convenient I didn't realise it was a separate co.olex to the main hotel. Especially as there was no reception and I had to go to a different location to check in and out.
- Joana Filipa (8/5): Bedroom facilities are good - Room was very confortable Breakfast needs to be advertised properly. It's not good vslue for money. Bedroom kettle needs descaling
- Charles (10/5): - A1 service from start to finish when we got there they even upgraded us at no extra cost Nothing
- David (10/5): -
- Margaret (9/5): - Nice room, and very comfortable bed. Nothing, apart from dirty washing bins outside our door.
- Sinclair (7/5): Ok - Location. Comfy beds. Very tired. No mat in the Shower, so I couldnt shower. Had to get a bed made up as no bedding .
- Jane (5/5): Base to sleep only - The location was great. Just off motorway and close to family so perfect in that respect. Bed was comfy. Staff were helpful. The room was small. Its a small building off from main hotel. Had to book into at main hotel then go back to lodge building! Rooms seemed clean but not cleaned during stay for three days!! Fan was so dirty it couldn't be switched on , had to ask for new one or cleaned. Bathroom extractor fan not working. Didn't know we had to go to another building for breakfast which was VERY limited. During breakfast people were coming in with dogs. Im not against it but when they're licking tables and yapping while you're trying to eat wasn't pleasant. Having said that, good price for area and time stayed. Just felt like the outcast of the hotel. Would NOT stay at lodge again.
- Mercedes (10/5): -
- Colin (9/5): One Night Stopover - Room was perfectly adequate for our one night stay. It was clean and comfortable and the added toiletries were a bonus.
Not completely sold on unmanned premises, but everything worked out fine. Not keen on unmanned premises; however, check in was smooth in the sister hotel opposite.
- Vernoum (8/5): Ok - Easy to get to and comfortable Breakfast was just a seeded Breakfast bap.
- Martin (8/5): -
- Nancy (7/5): The Lodge at Aztec West. - Excellent location. Well equipped room. Bathroom door lock crooked so difficult to shut/lock.
Shower door difficult to close causing a huge puddle on the bathroom floor.
Terrible pillows. Very lumpy couldn't get comfortable.
- Bryan (9/5): -
- Doyle (9/5): Great location and high standard or cleanliness - Great location close to Bristol city, Gribbs causeway and the venue (Plant Ice) that we attended. Hotel was clean and perfect for a nights stay, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Would recommend and stay again. Room was very warm, but it was a hot day, maybe could do with another fan, there was one in the room but not sufficient.
- Dawn (10/5): -
- Steve (7/5): Great place - Place to stay overnight Hot water kept going cold every minute then back to hot
- Karl (3/5): Disappointed - Room was very cozy Where do I start the shower leak to flooded the bathroom every time the shower went on this was most likely to see the reason the windows were all mouldy. But this is a night away from the kids with the wife only to be woken up at 8 am by housekeeping who let themselves in the room whilst we were asleep.
- Lee (7/5): -
- Zak (10/5): - Everything!
- Roy (9/5): -
- John (9/5): - Location is good for motorways All good
- Clarke (7/5): An enjoyable 3 night stay would have been improved with a good breakfast each morning. - The room was very good. Spacious, excellent bed, more seating than expected. Good size bathroom, water very hot, almost too hot! Television remote control didn't fully work. Breakfast was very disappointing. We read that breakfast was to be in the hotel opposite [wording 'across the road'] because of refurbishment. We assumed that referred to the Aztec Hotel and accepted we had to go to another hotel. But we were told to go to the Black Sheep, a cafe next door. Hot food was bacon or sausage on a bun plus cold choice of croissant, pastries, yogurt, fruit. This is a pleasant cafe, not a hotel restaurant that serves breakfast which we expected when we booked.
- Michael (8/5): - Convenient location. Comfortable beds. Quiet. Good breakfast.
- Zoe (5/5): -
- Henrietta (6/5): - The main hotel, the bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. The receptionist was a bit cold and did not give enough details about facilities or the hotel amenities.
- sarah (10/5): - The rooms were lovely and clean
- Rjgas (9/5): - Great clean comfy room No hot vegetarian breakfast option. Although there was plenty of cold options.
- John (8/5): Great no nonsense stay - Easy access good breakfast Nothing
- Hayley (9/5): Very good value for money - The food and the comfortable beds x We had to pay £45 per adult extra for the pool .
- Kaceymay (9/5): -
- Zoltan (10/5): -
- Beth (9/5): - Great value for money, staff are really friendly, the cafe wasn’t open when we got there but plenty of places delivered from just eat. You have to check in at the spa over the road which is fine but it would be good to have a email or something before hand explaining this.
- tania (10/5): -
- Paul (10/5): An excellent one night stay - will definitely use again - Excellent, polite and helpful staff. Comfortable room, lovely lounge and restaurant for evening meal, best hotel breakfast we've had. Nothing
- ROBERT (10/5): - Clean and comfortable very good value for money
- Susan (7/5): - Clean, comfortable, on site car charging and at a price we liked as we were only using it as a stopover Breakfast was only served from 8am on a Saturday which was included in the price but unfortunately we had to leave before this which was annoying when we had paid. It looks like it’s next to a pub and it wasn’t open for dinner so we had to eat in the spa hotel next door which we ended up paying more for food than the actual room itself.
- Rajeev (9/5): will stay again when required - no issues Breakfast @£20 too expensive.
- Chris (7/5): Overall, good value & ideal for our needs. Room servicing & maintenance needs improvement. - Location, value and most staff were excellent Reception staff. Various requests were not actioned and when questioned why, only bland ‘can’t do’ responses were given. Things were only rectified by the prompt and friendly action of Matt, the night manager.
- kate_james_99 (9/5): Good for a stopover - Easy to find, clean and comfortable. Great breakfast. Not the best soundproofing.
- Barbara (6/5): Great food & most of the staff. Not value for money. - Location & restaurant Attitude of staff at reception who seemed to think it was my fault they couldn’t find my booking & then put my son & myself in separate buildings.
- Alessia (6/5): -
- muhamed (5/5): Disappointed 🙁. - Location and staffs are amazing, The foyer and corridor is clean The room feel dirty, stain on the chair stain on the bed sheet on the sofa bed and carpets the desk got some bad stain the toilet hand dispenser not work I have to open it to get some detergent to wash. The worse I have ever stay since I started using Booking.com
- William (10/5): -
- Gideon (10/5): -
- Steven (9/5): -
- Paul (9/5): Perfect. Breakfast at the Black Sheep was excellent and really convenient -
- Bunmi (8/5): - The room was clean and bed very comfortable We had to check in at another hotel reception, although not too far away but not convenient.
- Harvey (8/5): -
- John (8/5): -
- Sarah (7/5): -
- Chris (8/5): Exceeded expectations but more attention to maintenance would enhance stay - Comfortable room, excellent breakfast, parking & location Maintenance. On check-in the room heater didn’t work, neither did the tv remote or telephone. First two fixed promptly, telephone remained not working throughout three day stay.
- Karen (8/5): Very convenient stopover for my journey north - Easy access to M5 N/A
- Sarah (9/5): -
- Lallybird (8/5): Good for a short stay. - Comfortable room. Ideal for a short stay. Lovely smiley waitress at the pub where we had our included breakfast. Difficult to book in. The office desk was in a completely different building, a walk from the hotel rooms. The breakfast choices were limited and, again, in a different building. Not good when it's pouring with rain!
- Ivy (9/5): -
- Natasha (4/5): Not good - Our room was not made up correctly with beds for our whole family, eventhough it was booked for 4 people. This meant we had to go back and forth to the reception over the road. Housekeeping took longer than we were told to wait and on arrival were rude and abrupt. They handed over bedding and made us do it ourselves. The bathroom was covered in mould and was not cleaned to a good level. All in all, wont be returning or recommending.
- matthew (10/5): -
- Helen (9/5): Very nice - Clean and tidy Small radiator
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Anatolij (2/5): -
- Vic (9/5): -
- Fiona (5/5): Satisfactory for a one night stay but won't be going back. - The room was large almost loft like. Didn't realise you had to go across to the other hotel to sign in not mentioned anywhere.
No bath just a shower again not mentioned anywhere.
Sadly the breakfast was terrible, poorly organised and no real variety I had to wait 45 mins for some toast!
- Lynn (10/5): Exceptional VFM! - Exceptionally well prepared room and cleanliness. Breakfast very good and service with a smile too! Nothing
- Ashley (8/5): Comfortable and convenient but getting more expensive than I hope/expect - clean room, facilities as expected Prices are rising to the point where I might have to seriously consider other options
- chris (8/5): -
- Alex (9/5): Another good stay. - The Room, greeting and check-in were swiftly handled.
Breakfast, though I had a simple one, was adequate. Everything was adequate for the price paid.
- Alberto (8/5): -
- Patricia (10/5): - Lodge at Bristol is a very convenient hotel venue, just off the A38. It is very good value . The room was really spacious with a super-king size bed and a very nice spacious shower room en-suite. We were given a ground floor room as I have mobility difficulties, so it was very easy to access. Reception kindly arranged for extra tea/coffee for the room. A very nice continental breakfast was included; this was served at the restaurant next door where the staff were extremely helpful. There were only 2 disabled parking slots which were constantly occupied. It would be very helpful if the two slots opposite were changed to disabled parking slots.
The restaurant is in two levels with only step access down to the food counters. It would be a great help if the second set of steps could be converted to ramp access. Luckily the space between tables at the top allowed for wheelchair/rollator access and staff were very kind and helpful serving food and drink to our table.
- Gary (10/5): Perfect for our needs . Thank you - I was expecting travelodge style facilities as it was priced as such .. but it’s so much nicer and the breakfast setting was fantastic great room , comfy bed . 10/10 Can’t fault it
- Salvatore (8/5): - Location Bed uncomfortable for me
- Stephen (8/5): - Was expecting full english but what we had was sufficient
- michaeldL1379WG (8/5): Check In Nightmare - need to improve check in, 50 minutes is a nightmare to be queued up waiting.
We stayed at the Lodge but had to book in / check in at the Aztec hotel across the road. In the past we checked in at the Lodge which was never a problem, the change for checking in now is a nightmare, needs changing back again.
- natashawY9992CS (8/5): Ideal room in good location. - Excellent location. Wasn't clear needed to check in at hotel across the road. Ample parking.
Clean rooms. Travel cot available. When needed assistance with extra bedding and tv remote, manager come to help promptly.
Good continental breakfast. Vanessa was very welcoming.
- Debbie (10/5): Lovely stay in this fab hotel, everything was great. - Location, room size, check in & out was so easy and reception staff was so helpful and friendly.
- Liz (10/5): - Location was perfect for my need Nothing
- Tracy (10/5): Really lovely stay and will stay there again - It was just a perfect location and having a ground floor room as I have two small dogs and one is blind so much better for him not having to go up stairs. Also nice places close by to walk them and so friendly in the hotel and welcoming with your dogs as well. Really nice room. Very clean and everywhere else was very clean and modern too. Would definitely stay there again Nothing apart from would have like hot chocolate in the room as a chive and maybe a couple of biscuits 🤣
- Kreft (8/5): -
- Graham (9/5): -
- oliverbU9211UB (10/5): Great spot for lunch - Felicity looked after us as always with the smile and high spirits! Love your jacked potato, best one I have ever had! Keep it up and thank you!
- Haigh (8/5): -
- Farden (8/5): We have rebooked as have another event start of feb - Close to where we were attending for the weekend easy to find Door to bathroom was dodgy
- P1650CKsamanthat (6/5): Disappointing food - The place was nice and atmosphere pleasant. However I ordered a chilli jacket and can only describe it as a luke warm spud surrounded by tomato and bean soup. The chilli lacked meat (not described as veg chilli) was very watery and unsubstantial. Very disappointing as was the lukewarm warm bean and cheese jacket another member of the group had.
