Guest Reviews
- John (2/5): won't stay again if this continues and we will share with our business teams - Your staff posted abolish ICE posters throughout the motel, very unprofessional. When people visit and are perhaps on vacation, your political views are unsolicited and are not welcome. Be a place of relaxation, not politics.

- Ashley (9/5): We had a great stay! - Cozy room. The firepit area was fun! Not many amenities for the price. But overall it was nice.
- Bernadette (8/5): I would stay again, although Monday night stay is dead not much happening in the town at all. - No breakfast available but tea/coffee in the mornings in the reception, would have been better to have our own tea/coffee machine in the room and at least bottle water for free each day of stay. AC was making a terrible noise in the bathroom like a bird chirping otherwise the bed was comfy and room spacious enough no frills but box standard and clean.

- Eric (10/5): Excellent stylish motel in the Santa Ynez Valley - Very stylish motel in Los Alamos, friendly staff, location is great in Los Alamos and easy to get to other places in the region. Room was quite small - this didn't bother me as a single traveler, but with two people it would get very crowded.
- Jill (10/5): -
- jennie (10/5): -
- Stephanie (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay! Perfect location and incredibly charming. - We absolutely loved our stay! The staff was amazing, we loved the motel bar and fire pit and they had the most delicious coffee available in the morning every day. The beds were extremely comfortable! Honestly enjoyed every aspect of our stay!
- Khek (8/5): -
- Jillana (10/5): - Location, quiet, comfort, proximity to Bells and Pico and Bob's Well bread!! Nothing.
- aree (9/5): It was my first time in Los Alamos and feom my first moment of stepping on the property until I left the staff was alway - Amazing staff, great price and fantastic location. The only thing for me was when others next door to me shut the doors you feel a little jolted but really not that bad considering all the good.
- Sonner (9/5): -
- Robert (8/5): - TV remote
- Jennifer (5/5): -
- Francis (10/5): Overall, I would recommend this hotel for families, and couples. - Our stay at the Alamo hotel overall was a great experience. The room was clean/spacious, and the bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly.
The location was convenient, which made it easy to get around. Amenities like parking, and Wi-Fi were excellent. There’s also an excellent convenience store next door. None
- Skylar (8/5): If you’re gonna stay in Los Alamos, stay here. - Very stylish room. Clean. Big beautiful tub.
- Jeffrey (4/5): Not worth the cost. - Room was cramped and small for 4 people. Beds were on a platform that was too big and chins were consistently smashed into. Floor was dirty from worn in dirt. Door did not seal properly and you could see through the edges.
- Cheryll (10/5): -
- Karen (10/5): -
- Stuart (9/5): -
- Tarla (8/5): Fine - Convenient Very expensive this time. When I have stayed before it was a good price. This time it was very expensive
- Diana (9/5): Big city luxury in this small California town. - The Alamo hotel was comfortable, clean, and beautiful. There were really nice touches including a fire pit going in the middle of the courtyard, a little bar if you fancy a drink, and high quality snacks/bevs (for purchase) in the room. I also appreciated the coffee service in the morning. Staff was nice and the bed was comfy! Overall great experience.
- Shannon (8/5): Great location! Nice room with a unique vibe. - The bathtub was great! The bed was comfortable. I would have liked the bath salts/ soap included in the stay. We couldn’t figure out the heater, so the room was a bit cold.
- Kristin (10/5): Peaceful environment , friendly staff and a clean room are good words to summarize my stay at Alamo. - I had to leave before the lobby opened, but was given just the right amount of oat milk for my cup of room coffee to drink in the morning. Free coffee in the room would have been much appreciated.
- LaDawn (9/5): -
- Diana (9/5): -
- Kathleen (9/5): Staff very, very, very kind and accommodating - Very cute outside area with fish pond lights fire pit swings The TV did not work rm 2
New batteries, the remote still did not work
Could not get the TV on
Staff was gone for the night
- Samantha (10/5): Perfect cute vibey motel in center of town - We loved our one night stay at Alamo Hotel! Perfect cozy place for our overnight stop. Right in the center of town and easy to walk to everything. The bed was comfy, the shower was great and the staff were very kind. We hope to be back again
- Barker (10/5): I enjoy coming here every single time I passed through to San Francisco - Very considerate and caring, even though the room isn’t accessible, they put the ramp down for me and help me get up very sweet I like everything about this property. It’s beautifully done. I don’t understand what the negative reviews are for.
- Desiree (7/5): Simple. Clean. Cute. - Pros: The property has been renovated and is quite charming. It is located in the center of town making it easy to walk and discover all the shops, restaurants and tasting rooms without having to drive. I thought the bed was comfortable but if you prefer a bed on the firmer side, it may not be for you. Staff is very friendly and professional. Cons: very little light in the room, the bulbs are an Edison type and even with the bathroom light on & door open I had to use the flashlight on my cell phone so I could operate the remote. There is no chair or any place to sit other than the beds (at least in the double queen I was in)
- Robert (10/5): Great vibe in a clean, comfortable updated mid-century motel, well managed. - This was an old property that has been updated but still keeping the mid century vibe. Our room was comfortable. The staff was very nice at check in and with communication prior. The grounds were spacious and inviting, with a very nice fire pit and a roaring fire on a cool evening, with blankets provided. the small bar was a very nice feature. Nothing
- Diane (8/5): Will come again! - Nice decor, friendly staff Took forever to get hot water in the bathroom sink.
- Kim (10/5): - Exceeded expectations!
Perfect location. Charming. Felt like stepping back in time. Can hardly wait to come back!
- Samuel (10/5): -
- THuang (8/5): Fun place to stay. Hip vibes. Good bar. Lovely staff and a great fire pit. - Alexa is wonderful. All the other guest were happy too and undoubtedly because she made us all feel comfortable and like us strangers were old friends. Floors could feel cleaner. Bathroom could also feel cleaner. Shower head and fixtures could use update. More light in the rooms would be helpful.
- Michelle (8/5): Enjoyed staying at Alamo Motel for the convenient location and small size making it easy to get in and out of. - Location. No instructions on how to operate TV or heating and air.
- Kathrin (10/5): Tolle coole Unterkunft tolle Lage - Sehr besondere Unterkunft
- Heughens (10/5): Loved the place and the girl on duty was absolutely delightful and helpful. We can’t say how pleased we were with the en - So pretty and perfect for the area. Nothing
- Anne (10/5): Amazing value for money - Although this is a more of a value motel (basic bathroom and furniture a little run down), the key details are fantastic …. Incredibly clean, comfortable beds and linens, really powerful shower, strong AC, gorgeous soap products and delicious morning coffee. The staff are wonderful. My dad’s standard Queen room had a bit of a septic tank smell- when I told the front desk about this, they instantly (with total grace) upgraded him to a beautiful larger King room with the claw tub bath. Really appreciated. Slept like bricks here… Will be back!
- Sarah (10/5): - Beautiful, cozy, and clean rooms. Everything was walkable to different wine shops and restaurants
- Trevor (10/5): - Room, comfortable, nicely decorated rooms.
- Delan (9/5): - Great location. Love the on-site bar. Comfy rooms that are pretty large, nice shower. Only problem was loud neighbors late at night.
- Divya (7/5): - Convenient to be in and around Los alamos. Bathrooms were a little dated, and tiny
- Lucia Cortini (9/5): -
- Jill (6/5): The hotel is very convenient to Bell's, which was our main reason for coming to Los Alamos. - We did not have breakfast there. Although the beds were comfortable in our room, the room itself was not ideal. For one thing, there was very little light (two dim bedside lamps) and it was hard to read in the room. For another, there was no chair in the room, so one haad to sit on the bed to put on shoes -- not ideal!
Nada.
- Sharleen (8/5): - The bathtub was glorious! And the property was very quiet and cute.
- Frick (10/5): - Attention to details: historical light switches, cowhide rug and well appointed features.
- Patti (7/5): Cute but tiny room in a wonderful location - Location and attempts at hipness Bathroom was old. They should provide at least 2 bottled waters for free in the room.
- Angie (10/5): -
- April (10/5): Lovely stay in a cool motel that sits in one of the BEST foodie towns in the west! - Location and aesthetic Price
- Oliver (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (6/5): - Plywood floors, plywood table, plywood side tables. Electric kettle and cups but you have to pay for tea bags and coffee. Very dim lighting. Grounds very nice but room decor disappointing. Would not return
- Robbie (8/5): - clean and comfortable
we enjoyed gathering around the fire
short walk to restaurants and shopping
the market next door offers fantastic santa maria style tri tip bbq sandwiches. highly recommend.
- Joanne (6/5): Pleasantly ok - Very friendly staff, nice outside area to sit and visit with friends, quiet location, bed was comfortable and room was pretty clean the bathroom was EXTREMELY small. The shower head was locked in place so my wife could not use it. The window behind the claw foot tub was rotted and falling out providing close to no security. No place to put your non hanging clothes. Most of the bench was used up with items you could buy
- Tarla (8/5): Convenient to bells restaurant 😘 - Convenient Bathroom knobs did not work
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (10/5): - Love this place. Walkable to restaurants close to wineries, quiet, clean and comfy.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - Location and bed!! Shower pressure way to powerful
- Jake (8/5): Quaint cowboy charm in the center of Los Alamos - Center of town, easy access to everything in town and surrounding areas. Center bar and fire pit are lovely. Room was smallish, would stay in a larger room with clawfoot tub but for the price, was still good.
- Sara (9/5): Superb -
- Amberbr (8/5): Very good - Location, price, staff was very helpful. Great value.
- Robert (8/5): Simple,Quiet and Nice - it's simple but comfortable. Big comfortable bed. Big clawfoot tub
Quiet little town without a traffic light Tiny TV
- Shannon (8/5): We had a great time and comfortable room. - Great location! The decor was comfy, clean and unique. The room next to us was very noisy until late at night.
- Flor (10/5): - Grounds were beautifully kept. Clean rooms, friendly staff, quiet, relaxing ambiance.
- REHAAN (10/5): - Its not a chain Hotel and you'd probably miss it driving by during the day if you didn't notice their red neon sign which only comes on at night (obv), but that'a what sets it apart. The rooms are so well appointed and cozy and the bed's are the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The bathrooms could use a bit of a refresh but were clean and not an issue at all. The place has a very southern, rustic feel. The staff are super hospitable and curteous. Over-all a very very good exeprience for us. Wud definitely stay here again.
- Xylina (8/5): We loved our quick overnight at The Alamo Motel. - Location is amazing, you can walk everywhere, including the market next door. We loved the outside fire pit and wine-tasting area; very charming. Nice to have coffee and tea available in the morning. Easy to communicate with the front desk via text. Comfy bed too with much appreciated A/C. Tiny bathroom: windows wouldn't open (no vent/fan) and the sink was not much larger than a postage stamp so water went all over the floor when I attempted to wash my face. The clawfoot tub takes up valuable space out in the cozy bedroom area.
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laurie (10/5): - Just think the bathrooms need a bit of update and have electrical outlets next to nightstands would be great. But it was a nice simplicity and so cute .
- Lisa (8/5): Comfy beds, clean and minimalist yet also charming. I’ll be back - So charming - good vibe Nothing
- Talitha (10/5): - Overall it was great. Super cute place. Only issue is the bathroom is SO outdated and the shower barely worked. Also issues with the A/C. The front desk didn’t seem to care at all. Other than that it was incredible.
- Rob (6/5): Good overall. Fixing a few things could go a long way. Especially since it’s not inexpensive - Cool vibe reminiscent of motels along rte 66 in the 60s. Attractive property. Running waterfall and the little lounge area are nice touch. Room was clean and nice. My room smelled mildewy, couldn’t get the tv to work and the bed didn’t have much support.
- Helen (6/5): Lacking in conveniences. - Charm Shower didn’t work.
- Michelle (8/5): - Retro vibe motel. It fits the aesthetic for city. Easy walk to neighborhood shopping and food. Staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, you can hear all the traffic driving past motel all night. I had a standard room. The shower and bathroom are very tight fit, clean but tiny (literally only able to store toothbrush in bathroom-no place for anything else). My room had no place to sit beside the bed and stools in the kitchen area. The motel had placed items to buy on the bench in the room so no place to sit. Small closet for you to hang clothing but no drawers or other place to unpack your items. The fire pit and open area in the photos are what you will enjoy in this space.
- Staceylou (7/5): Quiet friendly and convenient. - The lady who checked us in was super nice we had a last-minute change. She accommodated it. We liked that we could smoke weed on property and how beautifully it was decorated. There was sort of a musty smell in the room and the bathroom didn’t have like any storage like you couldn’t put anything any place like all of your personal things.
- Susie (8/5): Can't wait to go back! - The bed was super comfortable. Liked having the easy access to outdoor chairs for lounging, firepit and music. The location was perfect for wandering to any business in town...or to pop into Alamo Bar on site. They've done a nice job with the remodel and rooms are charming. We didn't mind but the bathroom was small with no counter space so be prepared.
- Eric (8/5): Very good -
- Eric (8/5): Very good -
- Alejandra (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): Had a wonderful time! - This is not what I would call a fancy hotel, but it was so comfortable, but I enjoyed every minute of staying there. The staff was incredibly courteous and welcoming, and very helpful. When I went into my room, I noticed it was absolutely spotless. The location is very convenient I was right in the middle of the little town. I would definitely plan another trip there!
- Michelle (8/5): Cute motor hotel. - Cute little motor hotel that’s been semi- updated. Beds were comfortable and bedding was great. Our bathroom was super small and outdated. Probably not worth the $300 a night we spent.
- Hugh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cathy (6/5): Overpriced motel; spent $1000 ( 4 nights) - No breakfast! Rug was a danger ; I did report this to staff
I read there was a complimentary glass of wine, but when I asked for it, I was denied it👎
- Travis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rita (10/5): - This little place was clean and the beds were comfortable!
There were a couple of things that could have been better.
1. Better lights in the room. It was very dim. I couldn’t read my book.
2. The rug on the floor was rolling up on the edge and my foot kept catching on it.
3. The toilet stopped working on the lay morning.
They were all just annoying. Not horrible.
- Kathleen (10/5): - We’re booked two rooms for our family of 6 and it was perfect! The rooms are beautifully decorated yet simple and chic. The tub is amazing and the bedding is superb! Will definitely return!
- Michelle (10/5): - Small, quaint motel. Feels authentic to the town, can walk to all major spots in Los Alamos. Enjoyable fire pit area and small bar available.
- Michael (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay and the staff were friendly and fun. The fire pit was awesome. Loved walking through the area.
- Charlie (10/5): - Nice and clean, liked the southwestern decor and landscaping. Luckily l had an extension cord, as there was no electrical outlet in the bathroom.
- Jesse (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cheryl (10/5): We loved Los Alamos and the stay there. - It was fun with a mid-century feel. Right in town, walk to great restaurants. Rooms are rustic but comfy. Nothing, booked again while we were there!
- Olivia (10/5): Perfect weekend getaway spot - The town is perfect for a short, relaxing getaway. The motel adds to that experience. The rooms are basic but very comfy, beds are great. The staff were friendly, easy going and accommodating. We took advantage of fire pit this time around and had fun evenings out there with our friends. Lovely stay, can’t wait to go back. Everything was great.
- Rachael (4/5): I expected something wonderful and it was mediocre - The bed was comfy.
When I was upset with our room, one of the employees got us a bottle of bubbles. The hospitality is not there.
I came for my wedding, I called when we made the reservation to see what we could do to help make that special and was met with nothing from staff. I even asked if we booked a good room. I wanted a clawfoot tub, did not know the king suite did not come with one. Asked to exchange rooms, nothing.
The shower was not good and the water was spilling out of the sides so the whole bathroom floor got wet.
Day of our wedding, I had to ASK housekeeping to get to our room sooner because we were getting ready soon and the room hadn’t been touched (even with us gone all day and the sign out).
At the end I needed a box to take home some wine bottles and the AM staff was very rude to both me and my mother in law about getting a box.
Not somewhere to stay if you’re celebrating something special.
