- Eric (6/5): Decent but definitely not Grand. - The size of the room is decent, very clean and quiet. Plenty of parking. The smell of the hallway, the bed frame is noisy with only slight movement, the bathroom latch doesn't click closed, most of the TV channels have no signal, the wifi is very weak, the breakfast is very simple and restocking is very slow.

Villa was upstairs; would have been better on bottom floor. NO pictures or decorations on walls; very bare; no night lite in bright bathroom; room service only once at 5 pm just as we returned; in bathroom: container for soap and lotion...were both soup; i.e.. no lotion. Requested to have lotion twice at front desk; never had lotion.

- jill (4/5): Disappointing. Needs deep, deep cleaning. - The beds were comfortable, and bedding (sheets etc) was clean. Good enough location. Grounds were nice. Full size fridge. Microwave was handy as the tiny hob didn't provide much room to cook a full meal. Free parking was great. Didn't try the free breakfast. The short interactions we had with staff during check in and check out was very pleasant. We stayed in one of the villas. It was not grand. It looked nothing like the photos on the hotel site. It needed a very deep clean. The room in general was very disappointing. Very dirty. Some parts of the room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Vents were very dirty and had a lot of clogged dirt in them. Spider and cobwebs in the bathroom. The shower had low pressure. A couple of stained towels in the bathroom when we got there - looked like makeup (none of our group wears makeup) - but were replaced quickly when requested. Lots of dust along base boards. There were dirty socks under the bed, lots of loose dirt (bits of food, dust, etc) under the bed. There were 2 rugs on the floor under the sofa...one on top of the other. The top rug was filthy...lots of stains and just overall dirty. The rug underneath wasn't as dirty but the parts that were not covered by the rug on top were absolutely filthy...the difference between the "clean" part and the exposed part were very obvious. These rugs definitely haven't been cleaned in a long, long time. The gas fireplace didn't work. We switched it on and all that came out was gas...it didn't light. A lot of little flying bugs in the room when we got there. The cooking hob was tiny and very close to the refrigerator and not big enough to cook a full meal...could do with a bigger cooking surface/oven. We checked out before the end of our paid trip. Overall very disappointing and not worth the price we paid. We've stayed in 3 star places that were better. The room we stayed in should not be given to any more customers until everything is completely cleaned from top to bottom.

- Sandra (8/5): The Grand Hotel offered a cozy and clean space to rest. - I liked the fact that there was enough parking when I arrived. And there wasn’t an extra fee for a parking space. The receptionist needs to be a little bit more friendly. He was very serious and not that welcoming.

We enjoyed our continental breakfast the two days we stayed, there was a decent variety, that fueled us up for our day. Ice machine didnt work on main floor, so we had to use the ice machine on the 4th floor. No other concerns.

They called him and he denied all wrongdoing and refused refund. FiIthy hotel operated by a deceptive scamartist

Rooms at main building are quite old, air conditioner is very very noisy (specially in room 330). Mold on the shower curtains, balcony chair broken & collapsed under me having a near catastrophe, (I’m 71, broken bones no joke!) walls all bare of any art or decorations. No Bathroom exhaust & bar couldn’t come up with a lime for a cocktail, drink that was watered down and aweful. Not so Grand in my book.

We asked for extra towels and when they delivered them, they opened the door with their own key to bring them into the room. I was shocked to see a strange man in my room with towels!! I'm not sure why they could not have knocked or left them outside of the door. It was really unnerving.

- Arlett (6/5): Not thoroughly cleaned - I stayed in one of the ground level villas and while the space itself was decent, I was disappointed to find a few dead spiders inside upon arrival, which gave the impression that the room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned. Additionally, the noise levels were an issue, I could clearly hear the person above walking around, and there was a constant hum from the electrical room next door. These factors made it hard to fully relax during my stay.

- Carol (2/5): - This was the dirtiest hotel room we have ever experienced. It was supposed to be a VIP upgrade. We got a suite that appears to have been stayed in just minutes before we arrived. There was a dirty face towel full with make up. We ask the front desk to have to kitchen clean as it was filthy, but even after someone was sent to clean it, it looked no different. In addition, it was a scuffed up apt everywhere you looked, kitchen backsplash, base boards, dirty looking kitchen chairs, couch. Staff was apologetic and nice, but would recommend staying here, especially the villa.

I booked an emergency trip with my 28- and 17-year-old daughters to help my bedridden sister and her family during her pregnancy. We had a very late check-in in and the overnight clerk looked like a mobster's henchman straight out of the movies (no jacket, open collar print shirt with gold chains, big rings on fingers). It gave really 'sketchy' vibes, and we did not feel safe. I was afraid that my daughters would be snatched and trafficked. While looking for our room, this random older woman appeared and asked what our room number was so she could help us find it. We believe she was a guest and was just outside for a smoke. But who knows, right? Apparently, because we booked a 'villa', we had to walk outside of the main building through the garden to another building to access our room on the 2nd floor with no elevator. It felt like we were being watched while staying in the slave quarters. The 'included breakfast' was toast, boiled eggs, cereal, and whole fruit. This was definitely a privately-owned hotel -- no apparent corporate oversight. We will not return. If you have other options for accommodations, please take them.

Receptionist didn’t u lock the door cause they didn’t have the device, didn’t offer another room, nor a refund. It was a nightmare of an experience that caused me great grief. An hour of my time costs 500$. Hotel wasted my time my money and my mood and gave me a bad memory. I would charge them 10000$ for the grief their incompetence caused

- Linda (6/5): The Not So Grand Hotel - The room was very clean. The bathroom lacked a full set of towels for two people. There was no mat to step on when getting out of the shower or tub. The beds were comfortable but very low. Not the easiest to get out of for a senior citizen. The free breakfast left much to be desired. There was a choice of 3 cold cereals, white or wheat bread to toast and bananas. Poor choices compared to comparable hotels in the area. We will not be staying here again.

- Charmaine (6/5): Not what it used to be - rooms are big and spacious Pool area is cute but small. by this hotel has been my go to when I want a mini escape since I was maybe 21. I am now 42 and up until now. It is no longer my Sunnyvale gem. Things have gone downhill and they’ve gotten to be cheap loses a lot of charm. There is still a happy hour from 5 to 6 only no little snacks not even chips when they used to even have cheese, crackers,salami and some nuts. also only strictly beer and wine no mixed drinks. At breakfast, there’s limited items some cold eggs and sausage, cereal and bread coffee oranges. I use the tray from the room to help carry my stuff back and I got stopped by two employees I think one being the manager and got told I am not allowed to remove the trays from the room and use them. I said OK while I’m going back to the room right now. I just use it to help carry my beverages. To then the woman said no you can’t do that either you can’t take food to your room, which makes no sense cause you can eat in your room order dinner to your room from DoorDash. They don’t have a restaurant, but you can’t eat their breakfast items in the room.? they put me off so much cause it’s not only one but two and I said well some of my breakfast is already up in the room already and I only have a coffee and orange juice and she said oh it’s OK. You can take that and I insisted on giving her back the tray cause I didn’t even want to talk about it anymore. She was very rude and so was the man that told me first. Way to strut about an item that was getting right returned back to the room that helped me carry some stuff that was difficult. This will be my last stay in 25 years. Also, they are stingy with the towels for the pool and question you. One couple ask for towels at about one they didn’t receive any till maybe 330. Also, hot tub was not filled or working.

- John K (8/5): Not So Grand Anymore - The Grand Hotel isn’t as grand as it used to be. Have been staying here for past 4 years; however, noticed the service and cleanliness has taken a step back. Housekeeping didn’t show up a few times, shortage of towels and toilet paper. The room in the annex section floors were dirty. Pool was also dirty.
- Steven (6/5): - Needed to get a room change from first option due to cleanliness. Second room was much better. Pool was not heated which was a bummer since the weather turned out to not be as warm as expected. But all in all it was a nice stay conveniently located for our travels.
- Carolyn (4/5): - We stayed in a villa and expected it to be as nice or nicer than the suite since it was more expensive. It was like an apartment with full kitchen and separate bedroom, which was nice, but it wasn't kept clean. Dirty and stained furniture and filthy rug under the couch, broken kitchen chair leg that wobbled, and the mattresses were extremely old, creaky and uncomfortable. It sounded like popcorn when you sat on it or turned over while sleeping. After 3 days they changed the mattresses to less older ones that made less noise. Still uncomfortable. The bathroom had one sink that was approx. 2 inches deep and not much counter space unlike the double sinks in the suite. Plus the bathroom tile grout (which used to be white) was now brown like it was never cleaned. Housekeeping didn't do anything but make the bed, pick up towels and empty SOME of the trash. Never wiped up the hair on the floor and sink. Same dead bugs and dust from the day we checked in until the day we checked out. Don't waste your money. I will NEVER stay there again.
