Guest Reviews
- patricia (8/5): - nice hotel for a one night stay, clean and tidy ,staff nice food good
- Martin (6/5): - Staff were indifferent and just did what they had to do, area although nice had very litttle I way of amenities, Mullingar down the road had more choice.
- Garreth (10/5): - Lovely hotel in the middle of the town. Met by the very friendly owner who has a wealth of knowledge of the area. The food in the hotel was excellent too.
- JOHN (6/5): - Nice atmosphere. Very Cozy. Only complaint is, as I walked into my room, there was some dude already relaxing in there. Apparently, his key fit the same door. Two nights later, as I was laying in bed, I heard the door being unlocked. I looked up to see a woman enter. When she noticed me, she quickly apologized and left. One key fits all. Maybe a little too Cozy.
- Eleanor (10/5): Value for money - This hotel is good value for money and convenient for sightseeing in the area and fishing, staff were very friendly and helpful and there was good entertainment in the lounge on the Saturday night, would definitely recommend it.
- Laurent (10/5): Hôtel sympa - Notre choix de cet hôtel était de ne pas rester dans Dublin visiter les terres et côté ouest Galway, cliff of Moher, connemara sur une journée et Dublin sur une autre !
- Dallas (8/5): Nice hotel in centre of town - The hotel gave a real friendly Irish experience. The accommodation was quite comfortable, the staff very friendly and located in the centre of this typical Irish village.
The bar atmosphere was great with the locals very welcoming and ready to share a story and a laugh.
- paul (10/5): - Would recommend to family and friends
- Miriam (8/5): Hotel Castlepollard - Lovely little hotel in pretty setting. Staff were very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much bother. Rooms good and very comfortable. Food was excellent and overall a very good experience at a very reasonable price.
- Joseph (10/5): - Very comfortable
- Eileen (8/5): Great welcome - Been here two in a year and the lady Kathleen is so laid back and helpful in the dining area.
- Pamela (8/5): Little gem of a hotel - We enjoyed our stay and felt welcome and relaxed in the hotel. The food was excellent and the bar/restaurant had a nice atmosphere
- aussie girls (10/5): Russell will greet you like a cousin! - Easy to find, excellent location close to many interesting attractions, great food and service
- Jerry (6/5): Good food ,no late bar - Bar food excellent,no residents bar service very good
- Jade (6/5): - Staff was friendly. There wasn't too much around to do. It was a great area to look at the stars. We came in late so we had to get the bar staff to check us in. The bedding was lumpy and there was some mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. The breakfast was good and staff was helpful.
I would not stay again.
- john (10/5): lovely hotel in pollard - stayed 1 night so I could sample the Guinness and didn't have to drive
the staff we're extremely friendly, the food was excellent (even went back for Sunday dinner) and the room was lovely with everything you needed it was my partners first time in Ireland and the stay in pollard arms contributed to her loving every minute of the holiday thanks Russell will see you again in the future
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel was excellent choice, everything in the place was very professional and the staff very helpful
- Andrzej (8/5): Nice stay - Clean, nice and good quality.
- Daniel (8/5): Beautiful little town - The room was clean. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The area was very nice and was on our way to Dublin.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Centre of the town hotel - Great staff and great breakfast, very good value for money. Our bag was carried up the stairs and no bother us arriving at 10pm on a Friday night. We stayed in the family room and had just got our lads to sleep at 11pm when the music started on the Saturday night. They didn't wake up at all though. We did expect this so as long as you know then it is fine, we would have joined in only for the kids......would recommend. The town is small but friendly.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Zum schlafen aber nicht zum Essen geeignet - Betten waren in Ordnung und wir haben gut geschlafen aber das Essen war sehr enttäuschend.
- rita (8/5): Good overnight stay - Stop off on way to other places. Very comfortable country hotel. Quiet village. Great breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Good pint of guinness!
Good bakery in the village.
- swans (8/5): - Room 107 nice quiet room. Get rid of single bed and add king size.
- Thomas (10/5): Mr - As a frequent traveller, I can give this hotel the highest possible grade. It is ideally suited for my age and for the tranquillity I require. The staff were helpful and welcoming, The room was a very pleasant and comfortable, the food was a gourmet
delight.
This is a old fashioned hotel, a real treat for those who just wish to enjoy the peace and quiet, however close to a number of major provincial towns.
We are already planning our next stay, and this is our destination for the midlands of this island. 10 out of 10 for its pleasure and its overall contribution for a fabulous short break.
- Irene (8/5): Lovely stay - Nice night away, hotel was booked to capacity so myself and my daughters reservations were combined and we were given the apartment. This was lovely, large and spacious, plenty of room for 3yr old to run about. Food was nice however the child's menu lacked choice, no fish available for kids much to my granddaughters dismay
- Leo (10/5): highly recommended - Friendly staff, excellent food,we stayed on a saturday night and there was lively music and a great atmosphere
- Russell (10/5): Shinning GEM in the middle of the Emerald Isle - I read other reviews about this hotel and found them somewhat incorrect. This place is fantastic in every respect and hard to beat anywhere. The staff is top notch, polite friendly in every respect, moreover made me feel quite welcome. Price is reasonable and you get a lot of value for your money. Food is very good as the place has many locals and price is very good for the quality and portion size. Collin the barman is attentive as all the ladies working in the bar are exceptional. Russell the Innkeeper is a prince! This place is a must-stay with lots to do and see.
- Ron (8/5): The Irish outback - A pleasant village. Worth a visit. Ate at hotel. Food was good standard pub fare.
- mradj (10/5): great place to stay. - Stayed one night.had nice meal and a few drinks in the bar.very good atmosphere and very friendly.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very loudy- not recommended to rest - The stay started quite well, good lunch, welcoming people and nice dinner. But the problem came at night when we went to bed at about 11pm, and then started a concert in the pub downstairs, with no isolation at all (we could hear it as if we were there) and we could not sleep until 2am when it finished. We had come there to rest and were not able to. So I would not recommend if you want to have a good night sleep. If you want to party it should be ok (though the music was not too good either), but if you want a quiet place, look for another option.
- Verified traveler (8/5): slane - very clean hotel
- David (8/5): Friendly area - Very friendly and helpful staff. Great food in the adjoining pub. Lots to see in the surrounding area with beautiful scenery even in poor weather.
- Irene (10/5): Will stay again - enjoyed the stay very much the food was great .Room was spotless Staff were friendly and helpful
- Rebecca (10/5): Faultless - Lovely hotel, great staff, beautifully cooked breakfasts, room was immaculately clean as was the rest of the hotel. Great value for money ... Would defo stay there again if in the area.
- Verified traveler (2/5): wont visit again - Didn't enjoy my stay will never visit again
- Antonella (6/5): Freddino!
- Jennifer (10/5): We loved it! - Wonderful place!!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): One night stay. - Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It is a nice and quiet place, service is good. Food in the bar wasn't too tasty, and some tables were wobbly there. In general we liked our stay there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely small hotel - We only stayed one night but will definitely return!
- winnie. (10/5): Nice hotel
- Had a nice overnight stay in this hotel. Staff were very pleasant. Room was nice and clean. I would stay here again. Breakfast.was lovely...
- John (8/5): Only One flaw - All the staff were helpful and polite, food was fantastic, we ate pub grub in the bar and it was excellent value for money. only one downside and that was the music on Saturday night which prevents sleep to 1.30am not an issue unfortunately we had a 5am start but receives a 20% discount after complaining .If it had not been for this I would have scored top marks for the cost to quality is excellent.
- catlover (10/5): very friendly - A big thank-you to Russell and his staff .All the food was freshly made instead of the horrible frozen chips etc a lot of hotels now serve . We will be back for a longer stay .
- Daisy (10/5): Great hotel - Our stay was lovely. All the staff were extremely friendly and versatile, as most worked both in the pub and in the adjoining hotel. Room was lovely. Only suggestion is that they have more outlets to recharge phone, iPad, laptop etc.
