- James (10/5): Nice dog friendly, clean and very much a value stay - Very clean, perfect location, very comfortable needs and pillows, nice linens and the towels were very absorbent. Full size refrigerator, nice small kitchenette which meets our needs. The road noise was next to none except when people were going to / from work times. And not all that bad either. The carpets are old, but clean. Although it is a dog friendly hotel... Keep that in mind and I had a dog. The parking surface was fair. The air conditioners were very loud. Not: worked excellent just not for a lighter sleeper

The window wouldn’t close at night and it was right above the bed it swung open a few times during the storm waking us up. We were only provided a half used roll of toilet tissue and the office was closed at night so we couldn’t get more.

- wendy (10/5): Extended Stay is a great value. - I am here for a few months for work and love all the amenities. Having the kitchen is wonderful and has saved me alot if money. It is an extremely good value for everything they offer. It is like a studio apt with on site laundry. We are here in the winter but they have outdoor facilities that can be used in the summer. Thank you for offering a reasonable hotel

- Michael (5/5): Not bad for cost but smell was unpleasant - Two separate bedrooms, kitchen, wi-fi, easy access. Smaller spaces than expected. What made us not want to stay again (and actually made us tempted to leave the night of arrival) was the strong smell that hit us like a brick when we walked in the room. It was a chemical-like smell that made us feel like coughing it was so strong. We removed a scented plug-in from the socket and opened the windows (thus being awakened by trash collector at 5 am) which made it a bit better overnight but the smell was in the shower curtain and furnishings so it did not go away completely. If hotel is trying to mask smoke or other smells, whatever they are doing is not the way to do it.

- Rebecca (8/5): Even with the parking we would definitely stay again. - Layout of room is perfect for my family of 5. Location is great and economical price. Parking is a bit of a bummer. We wondered if people had more than two vehicles per room because we only had one vehicle for our room and there were not any spaces left for us when we returned around 11 pm.

Not alot of counter space but we managed it. I will just remember that for next time to bring more pots and pans from home not a big deal. That's just what I have always done. I would rather have it then not and needed it.

- Richard (10/5): Wonderful hotel, extra clean rooms, A+ - I’m thrilled to be leaving this hotel with the highest rankings. Perfect location, and great price for a premium 2 bedroom King apartment with fireplace. Kitchen and living room was very nice for the 4 of us. It was not only clean but spotless! and Smelled very nice. The sheets and bedding were very clean and soft, not old or scratchy, and the bed mattress and pillows were so comfortable. I’ve never been anywhere around the world where it’s been this clean and comfortable. The staff is so sweet and helpful. This is my new Hotel anytime I’m in Traverse City. There are no complaints!

- Diana (7/5): It’s was decent enough, but for it’s age and amenities not a bargain - The location was excellent because my conference was at the larger resort and spa. I like having private access to my room. After hours, check-in was easy. Traffic is pretty intense the road that this is on as expected. The toilet needs to be fixed. I don’t want to have to pull the float ball up to make sure the toilet stops running, and I suspect this has been happening for a very long time and it has not been fixed. There’s nothing more annoying than lack of maintenance in the hotel you’re staying at… esp at TC jacked up prices.. everything else about the property generally was OK but the toilet thing is very annoying. If management does not know about the toilet issue then that’s the housekeeping staff not doing their job to let you know. Room 104. Also, it should be noted somewhere that the steam from your shower if you don’t close the bathroom door will trip the fire alarm. I chose to stay here also because I didn’t want to pay the cost of what it would’ve been at the larger conference center hotel. But after it was all said & done I only saved like maybe 100 bucks.. (not worth it) As a rule if you’re new to Traverse City it’s very much in love with itself and even older hotels like this are way overpriced because they know people will pay.

- seescokid (8/5): Nice suite, wife said, clean, passes her test, but still noisy from the road - Up here, October 8 to golf the ninth and wanted to stay nearby but we enjoy having two bedrooms with closed doors for sound control noise but you can still hear the highway noise and they built a big huge Fairfield Marriott and they’re building something right next to this place so We’ll see what happens but anyway it was kind of older place but well kept told mom living room was big wife and I don’t know how to work all that Hulu Netflix stuff but anyway each bedroom at it’s on TV nice little kitchen that we did not use and for what we paid. It was great valueroom 110 on the bottom floor nobody above you we did not hear any door slamming, which is great and actually they close up early and left our keys in an envelope which is really old school, but it’s cool and I’m like that so I would stay again. The pool was already closed and poured me at her first good frost here this morning.

Upon entering you are hit with such an awful smell- old, musty, animals/animal urine. It doesn’t air out either. The place was dirty and run down.

The pool was great too - very clean and without the old chlorine stink of a lot of other hotel/motel pools. Close enough to downtown Traverse City to make it easy to get to. Very friendly and attentive staff. We'll definitely stay here again next time we're up this way.

The smell of the room was obviously covering dampness and a host of other miserable odors. They are nose blind and simply no longer able to discern. Front desk dude could not have cared less. He said yes carpets are old and they smell….. check the room before you accept .. it will not make a difference but at least you will know what you are in for.

- Barbara (8/5): Good location and room was very clean and neat. - The young man at the desk was very courteous and helpful. He always had a smile on his face. He not only works in office but would take care of the pool umbrellas and could be seen all day doing other duties. He is a real asset!!! Also, we were very happy to be able to have our dogs in room with us in the ac. The doors on outside of the rooms could use a coat of paint. Our studio room was clean and neat. Overall, we were very comfortable, and Traverse Bay met all our needs.
- Geri (9/5): Superb - Nice, clean well kept, very nice staff There is a staircase in the room that has a locked door at the top of the stairs. It is a little creepy.

- Qu (10/5): Great choice! - The condo is very cozy! They have a crib for my baby and provided bedsheet for her too. The building is not new but everything functions well and is very clean. We'd like to rebook in the future.
