Guest Reviews
- Jyoti (2/5): - i did’nt like anything i hate this property
- Anita (2/5): - Everyone has their own standards. I rely HEAVILY on customer reviews when traveling. I saw a few people that gave this property high remarks. Perhaps these people enjoy living in SQUALOR!!! I was there for less than 60 seconds and started contacting other Hotels for open Vacancies. I left--- I expressed my utter disgust and left as soon as I could! It looks as if I was shown a room where some sort of crime occurred. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. FILTHY Premises !!!!!!!
- Peter (8/5): - Most things sbout this property are teally good for the price you pay. The pool area, restaurant for breakfast and reception area. However, thr room was very tired as and in need of some basic maintenance especially in the bathroom where there were loose tiles by the shower and very dirty sealant around thd bath - these could be fixed pretty easily and cheaply but it hasn't been done yet despite many reviews saying something similar. If you want somewhere comfortable, safe and cheap this place is fine. If you want something spotlessly clean and modern look elsewhere.
- Anthony (10/5): - Lovely tranquil surrondings. Staff were excellent and would highly recommend if you're on a budget and looking for somewhere in Kuta.
- Rose (8/5): - O
- Rhonda (8/5): - Our room was on the ground floor, close by the pool. For us it was worth paying extra for aircon. Upper floors seem to be fan only. Very Good location, and good for a cheap price. Pool was a blessing for Bali’s heat
- Pearlette (6/5): Decent accommodations; Kuta is changing though - I think this was my third or fourth stay in Katu- and the hotel was okay but somehow another guest found out what room I was in and said he had knocked at night -- not a great feeling. I did not feel safe at this hotel. Also, they should have clear policies about whether you add the food items to your bill or you pay as you go; this will avoid confusion for all parties, staff and guests. I have never been chased down at any other hotel. I left before my reservation was completed because I did not feel safe.
- Pierrette (8/5): Perfect - Nice place to stay good staff
- Simon Surya (6/5): - It's oj for the budget price
- Kirill (10/5): - nice place and affordable price
- ?? (2/5): - 큰 바퀴벌레가 있었다
- Blaine (10/5): - Great place to stay very friendly and helpful staff close to the beach, shopping and many food options!
- Jason (6/5): - Cheap hotel perfect for a few days. Definitely could use a face-lift but what do you expect for $12/nt. WiFi was spotty at best. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
- Yanjing (8/5): - Close to kuta beach and restaurants.
- MARK (6/5): - Walking distance to Kuta beach and shopping
- wei-chieh (6/5): - Over all the stay is great, friendly staff and affordable price.
Just the matress, towels, looks old.
- Duncan (10/5): - Friendly, helpful and prompt service from all staff.
Close to many dining options and also has a nice restaurant in the hotel. Clean pool and room cleans whenever needed.
Short walk to the beach.
Would definitely stay here again
- Zehrudin (4/5): - Dirty in the room. No daily room service. Saw a cockroach crawling around. Only a fan and too hot during the night to get proper sleep.
- Keegan (4/5): - It is what you pay for it. All these “cheap” hotels are pretty bad. The smell is awful - think wet laundry left inside washer for days. I’m usually not picky at all with hotels since I really only sleep and get ready in them - I’m often outside walking or doing something. But I checked into a few of these cheap hotels and they have changed my mind about hotels and where to stay.
- Mei (4/5): - The room is very basic.
- Omar (2/5): - If you can avoid the hotel is a lot better you can have better options
Since J check inn the “ welcome “ ladies is so rude she aske me for more money because no a/c at the room
I pay I walk in the room door doesn’t lock no toilet paper thhe towels looks like they mop the floor
The shower wit mold
So oreali don like
- Patrick (10/5): - The pool is beautiful and deep for diving and swimming workouts. The restaurant in the lobby is fair priced and delicious.
- brian (10/5): - Great staff, great location and very chill. Good value for money 🤑
- Minh (8/5): - No noise, beds extraneous comfortable. Buffet breakfast is limited provided.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Calm nice hotel - This is not a party hotel. This is a hotel you should choose in Kuta if you are in 30s, 40s or 50s and want to make friends as a solo traveller example. Rooms are good if you are not too picky. If you are picky, then you could say they need a bit cleaning, repair, remodelling etc...Towels smell usually quite bad but you can always use your own towels. Breakfest is small but cheap. Fridgerator beer should be more cold I wish. Gardem is very nice. Pool is great and many nice people always at the pool. Staff is super nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel if you want to make friends - Good hotel if you want to make friends. Nice pool to meet people and hang out. Sweet garden and good small breakfest. Very friendly staff. Big rooms amd nearby good restaurants. Peaceful area in Kuta.
- Yvonne (8/5): - Pool was nice and clean, air conditioning was great. Bathroom could do with an update. Drinks from restaurant fridge were not cold enough. Staff were great.
- Simeon (10/5): Perfect - Solo traveller and for the price you can't go wrong. Room was clean, staff are very friendly and helpful, the vibe in there was nice not too in your face even though you're really close to the all the action. I would stay here again 100%
- SHAUN (10/5): - Great location
- Steve (10/5): - Just a relaxing stay
- Steve (10/5): - I stay here regularly and never disappointed good cheap hotel and lovely pool and surrounds
- Jacob (10/5): - Stuff go out of the way to help you
- Rachael (10/5): - Peaceful, central, The staff were efficient and eager to please, very clean and tidy
- Julian (10/5): Quiet place close to the noise of kuta - Value unbeatable garden and pool a pleasure
- Julian (10/5): Lovely staff comfortable bed - The air conditioned rooms are best. Lovely staff at reception and breakfast.
- Julian (10/5): Book rooms with Air conditioning - Bargain for facilities. Tired in places. Pool garden no loud parties good air conditioning.
- Julian (10/5): Quiet street between beach and town - A good value gem. Garden pool air conditioning at low price not a party hotel.
- Nelly Celis (4/5): - There is no tv signal in the room. The toilet is faulty. The tour recommended by the hotel was terrible.
- Michael (10/5): - It was still very Baltnese
- Eric (10/5): - It's very good
- Steve (8/5): - Just a nice relaxing place lovely gardens and pool very quiet room was large great aircon the only thing is there was no fridge but not a big deal would recommend and will stay there again
- Peter (8/5): - This is budget accommodation and if you accept that it's good. It's clean and the staff are great. On the downside is the position as you have to walk through some dimly lit small roads to the hotel at night. The breakfast is ordinary at best
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Rooms are old and smelly, drain pipe was block and need to change room. Insted of fixing light switch in our room, ask customer to losen the light bulb to trun off the light above bed. AC was not cold in one of our room. Customers service was very bad. Instead of giving service to customer, looking to make extra money from customers. No complimentary water bottle in room and charge 20000 rps for 1.5L of drinking water bottel. Other hotel were providing kettle in room, they ask 10000 rps for boiling something for customer and don't want to borrow kettle. Very business minded on customers.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Great location, friendly helpful staff.
- Liam (10/5): - Was nice place, cheap, friendly and just cant think of anything bad to say really, awesome location aswell definitely recommend
- Wai (8/5): Bang gor uour buck! - Good location, away from the main drag of Kuta beach, no more thàn 10 minutes walk to the beach. Yes, the hotel needs updating. However, you get what you pay for and can't demand a lot. At least staffs are pleasant and helpful. Will stay again!!
- Michael (10/5): - I have stayed here several times over the years as the staff are friendly and very helpful. Hotel is in a very quiet and safe area, also close to beach and a 10 minute gentle walk to down town Kuta. Especially love the generous size pool! These guys are back in business after covid and are busy doing some updates but this does not impact guests.
- Yasmin (10/5): - I honestly loved everything about this property. Nice big room, very very friendly staff, cold pool, in a quiet area. Felt so welcome and comfortable here. The only thing is that the shower pressure is not very good, but I found that you could get good pressure if you put it on cold & I didn’t mind that. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be staying again :)
- Thomas (10/5): A germ in the heart of Kuta - Amazing reasonable priced hotel in the heart of Kuta with friendly staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic location, staff are beautiful can’t beat this place we just love 💕 it.
- KAMAL (8/5): - It is good place to stay with budget trip. The faous Kuta beach is only five minutes walk. The ambience is good , have free sweming pool. Only disadvantage is it's location in ally but safe through walking.
- Thomas (10/5): A hidden gem in Kuta - No idea where to start, but this hotel is a hidden gem in the center of Kuta.
Some may complain it's hard to find, but I see this is an advantage, because it is not overrun, its a quiet area, but still close to Kuta Beach. The staff is super friendly, helpful and care about their guests. The breakfast, even limited choice, is delicious, coffee is unlimited (important for me). The rooms are spacious, clean and most important silent. Wifi, even sometimes weak, was free all over the area (several access points).
Its not far to walk to restaurants, beach (as written above) and some nightlife activities.
The garden and pool are very clean, you see staff the whole day around keeping everything clean.
I would not stay at any other other hotel; the hotel has a perfect price-value.
- C (10/5): - We really enjoyed it here- it is a very low cost budget Balinese hotel but offers a lot for the price. Friendly quick customer service, basic but clean rooms, with a balcony and quiet surrounds and a good clean swimming pool. It is off Poppies Lane and away from the noise and bustle of the Kuta main streets, just like a little oasis where you can relax in a peaceful environment. The breakfast is cooked and offers some choices. It is just enough, although it might not be enough for people who like a huge buffet. I would never complain about a place like Sorga, we met people who were repeat visitors and we could see why - very cheap accomodation, but all that you need. If you want more, and if you want all modern, then pay for it and stay at a luxurious place! The people at Sorga do their best for their customers and we liked it there.
- Martin (6/5): - Nice hotel but no fridge, bed was not that comfortable otherwise good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was fine except there was one stinky pillow. My girlfriend said the pillow smelled like salted fish. 😐
- Michael (10/5): - Great to see the same happy staff still there from my last visit a few years ago. What a surprise to be warmly greeted by the customer service person who remembered me from all that time ago. So, budget hotel, close to beach and restaurants, great breakfast and cheap laundry service. The non-aircon rooms can be very hot but the aircon rooms are only A$5 extra. The pool is just fabulous and meticulously maintained and plenty of outdoor covered spaces to relax in. Well done to staff and management!
- David (10/5): - Very good hotel
- Wayne (6/5): Budget and location good, but that's it. - Pros: Within walking distance to most of the busy parts of Kuta, if that's your thing. Within budget at the lower end. Nice friendly and helpful staff. Shuttle to airport reasonable at 150,000Rp in nice new SUVs. Good setting and plenty of greenery in the gardens. Made friends with the resident two female grey tabby cats who like to visit at breaky time and may even jump up into your lap.
Cons: By Bali standards, breakfast borders on being lip-service, consisting of only an egg cooked four different ways on a piece of toast, plus a very small plate of 3x pineapple, 3x pawpaw and 3x watermelon pieces. Apart from that, a buffet of only bain-marie fried rice and tomato/cucumber pieces, that's it, apart from cornflakes and milk. If I was to book again here, which I probably would not, I would not include breakfast and just walk down the road to much better value. Access by car difficult due to narrow roads with tight corners off Poppies Lane1. Bar fridge not included, pay extra 50,000Rp. I stayed in room 125 which had far too much ambient light coming in the windows at night when trying to sleep.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrendous environment. - Terrible condition of hotel. Joined it for a 5nights stay bit checked out on the first day. Wasn't even able to make myself stay for a night.
- Sharm (6/5): - Really close to the beach. Quite an old fashioned hotel, you can hear the plumbing constantly. Toilet was not working when I arrived- not pleasant for me or the staff to deal with. Breakfast was not great, small portions one piece of tiny toast and a forkful of fruit. Friendly and helpful staff. You get what you pay for.
- Matt (8/5): - Nice budget hotel right next to the beach. It is very nice on the outside and had a nice pool, but the inside of the room wasn't as great. The sheets appeared a little dirty and had some ants crawling around (but ants are a common problem at many budget hotels). Our stay was good for the price, but not the best hotel.
- Michael (10/5): - nice hotel, close to beach and staff really understand customer service.
- shane (8/5): Good budget stay - The hotel is rather dated but has a good pool and excellent WiFi And good TV channels. It is in a popular area of kuta with the bar's a few minutes walk away.
- Frans (8/5): Excellent staff and very pleasant stay - Hotel Sorga was very pleasant with an excellent staff. Satisfactory breakfast and affordable dinner and lunch dishes. Very nice pool, clean room, daily cleaning and quick and good laundry service.
WiFi can be a bit weak in the room.
Finding the place was a bit of a problem for us as on New Years Eve as the nearby roads were closed for traffic The hotel had warned us about this. But on other days it should be much easier. Go and follow Kuta Beach boulevard and turn right just before the McDonalds, then the next left and you are almost there. Good eateries nearby, like Café Tree House.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Service staffs friendly
- Huw (10/5): Convenient location and good facilities - Good location, easy to walk to everything I wanted to do. Transport, as with everywhere in Bali, available to those who are lazy or less able. Well away from the street & local bar noises.
Breakfast included. Noodles, salad, fruit, and omelette or eggs on toast with tea/coffee
Restaurant open all day till midnight, with good prices.
Room was good, no fridge, but I didn't need one, the one thing in my room was a slight mustiness smell, which I didn't notice after 5 minutes. Had a TV, with heaps of channels.
For the price this place was great.
- David (10/5): Dave - Very nice peacefull Hotel, with excellent service
- David (10/5): David - Excellent location peaceful and quiet
- Susan (10/5): Convenient and quite. - This is great old hotel which it is tried in places but charming. Set just off the major shopping and night culb area quite but easy walk to every thing. Down side adding a fridge to the price if you want in the room, watch this when calculating room cost.
- David (10/5): Dave - good quiet location in Kuta
- MICHAEL (8/5): Peaceful stay at Sorga, Kuta - My fault that I hadn't booked a room with aircon. Very hot and restless nights with just a slow overhead fan. Anyway, I upgraded and then all was good. After a good night's sleep I was bright enough to appreciate all the freindly obliging staff. Nice balcony overlooking the pool and gardens. Gardens are beautifully maintained. No fridge in either room but no problem putting my drinks in the drinks (and community) fridge next to the dining area.
Hey, all meals are great. Best vegetable soup in the world. Asian style with mire than a hint of pepper. Healthy tasty and great value meals. Hey but I would like 2 eggs for breakfast instead of just 1. Only very minor negatives like what I've mentioned. And it's in a quiet area not far from the popular areas.
Good value.
- MICHAEL (6/5): Good value convenient hotel - Good experience except for possible mistake not noticing that there is no air conditioning in my room. Changed rooms
- GT (4/5): Should be better - Not up to standard. Not enough value for the money
- Susan (10/5): Location Location Location - This hotel is a hidden gem in the middle busy tourist area of kuta 500 meters to everything in every direction. Only down side was having to arrange for a fridge in the room for an extra $5 a day.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great trip , room was quite stuffy though as there was no air conditioning and the Tan wasn't very strong
- Janice (10/5): Perfect!!! - Can only say good things about this hotel - highly recommend.
- tluke (6/5): Great Pool area - Older Balinese style hotel circa 80s trouble is the room we were offered were still there. bathrooms were substandard for these times i am telling of the room they gave myself and my teen son. Free breakfast was very basic, the restaurant advertised was practically closed with the closed sign up for the three days we stayed however they did cook us a meal when we asked off the menu in the room. the Pool and the quiet Area were great seeing we were close to Poppies 1&2 but the beds are not comfy. no shower curtain meant the bath floor was always wet the mat supplied was like standing on wet frog. If other rooms are of better standards we could not tell but there was plenty of rooms empty whilst we were there. a bit of upgrading {money spent} would bring this hotel into a great budget class or great backpackers with their quiet balconys. plenty of good eating spots within 500m of the hotel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very OLD furnishing. - Very old old furnishings, doors and windows are really old and faded. Besides the toilet boil is new, the entire room old, feeling not comfortable. Inconvenient door look from inside because need to pull out the key from the electrical connection socket in order to lock and open the door.
The hotel is situated at the end of small lane, where cars are little bit difficult to drive in.
- ajay (6/5): Bali Experience - Very friendly, smiling and helpful staff.Hotel experience good for the price paid.Good location close to beach and legian street (where many of the top clubs and bars are).Only concern was that late at night needed to walk through dark alleys to get to hotel.Though nothing ever happened to me and Bali people told me it was completely safe.
