- Ally (8/5): Adorable and well-priced stay in Badlands! - Such a cute and quaint little property! Super close to the park and had everything we needed. Breakfast was misleading - looks like the “grab and go” will open soon but right now (mid may) just microwave burritos & pastries. Showers are quite small - BUT have great water pressure

- Rebecca (1/5): Bad experience for us - The room was large. The staff did not allow us to check in until 4 and they left at 5 without any instructions regarding how to operate the heat, which was not a standard split system. It was quite chilly in the room and we tried everything we could figure out to do to get some heat. Nothing worked, so we called the emergency number and left a message. After a while, we packed up and left. As we were driving down the road, the staff called and wanted to give us instructions regarding the heater, which required moving a large piece of furniture. We told her we had already left. If instructions are needed to turn the heat on, you might want to include them on check in. I understand not having staff on site 24/7, but you may want to consider extending the hours a bit.

- Natalie (9/5): Overall a good stay. - Good value for the cost - it was basic, but clean and a good place to stay just for the night. And they kindly left late check in info posted on their wall which was SUCH a relief. No complaints! I wish they kept the hair dryer in the room so I don’t have to wait until the office opens up at 9 am to retrieve one. I also wish their late check in policy (which is great) was promoted more on their website or booking site, as it’s a great one and is comforting to refer to and read about when traveling late!

- Tracy (2/5): Beautiful location, horrible accommodations - Great location, views of the badlands. Peaceful and quiet. The campground looks a lot better than the hotel. The hotel was filthy, lots of bugs crawling around in the rooms. No cleaning service, if you need clean towels you have to take your old ones to the office. We were told we had to take our own trash down to the campground dumpsters. They are dog friendly but there dog run is a small fenced area , the grass wasn’t cut and it was loaded with sand spurs. The 2 young girls who worked there clearly hated their jobs they were very rude. An older lady that worked the office was great though. Very nice and accommodating. The air conditioner filters and vents looked like they had never been cleaned. The campground on the same property looked like a much safer option.

The AC worked and there was a small portable heater for cold nights. WiFi was good. I missed a hair dryer in the room. Unfortunately they didn't have at the reception one to borrow either.

- James (8/5): Don't expect a five-star motel and you should have a good experience. - This is, I believe, the only motel near the east entrance to the Badlands. The facilities, though past their prime, were clean and sufficient. I would definitely stay there again. Again, the facilities are dated, but that did not prevent us from having a comfortable stay. The shower stall was a little smaller than I would have liked.

The room itself looked to be updated but was poorly kept with flooring not finished, unpleasant small bathroom, poor smelling water, scratchy bed sheets.

Only options in Interior are bars that did allow kids but weren't the most family friendly. There was a blood stain on the comforter, the room smelled of a nauseatingly strong cleaner, bathroom sink was a dribble of water and our shower would not turn on at all. Wifi and satellite tv service only worked in 10 minute increments without needing a restart. Maybe to be expected for being so remote, but was annoying after a long travel day. Staff only available 9am-5pm. We left a day early and went up to Rapid City instead.

- HERVE (5/5): - L'emplacement. On.a vu personne on.ne peut pas parler du.personnel. Wifi moyen. C'est très et trop sonore , on dort un.peu avec ses voisins quand ils ronflent ou regardent la TV.. On doit aller se garer loin c'est interdit à proximité de la chambre, on a passé pourquoi, on avait un.mot dans une enveloppe. C vêtuste, lavabo tout rouillé. Et il faudrait mettre une cafetière avec un fil plus long, mais on a solutionné le souci de bon matin. Le petit déjeuner est à 8hs trop tard pour nous on.ne peut pas en parler. Maintenant c'est pas cher donc peut être qu'on en a juste pour son argent.

I had a problem with many flies, a wasp, and a spider in the room, even though I was quick to enter and exit. The room could also use a microwave but does have a refrigerator.

- Carmen (8/5): - This property is rustic, but the rooms are clean. A little updating to the furniture and bathroom areas would help. Breakfast is not included. There is a small store and options are available for breakfast at a cost. We would stay here again because it is so close to Badlands NP
- Mark (2/5): - We checked into the hotel and upon getting to our room discovered that it did not look like the room that we expected based on our reservatiin. We found dried food on the duvet, and a large dark and discolored area in the bathroom on the trim below the shower. Not feeling comfortable with staying for the night we immediately returned to the office to check out and get a refund for our stay. When we were finally contacted back by management we were told that the room was perfectly acceptable. We were also told that the rooms will be undergoing updates and that the bathroom is going to be painted and that the black discoloration we saw was old paint and not anything dangerous. We are not unreasonable people, just expect to get a good comfortable night stay for our money. This issue was not resolved for us.We ended the call feeling disrespected and did not receive a reund or our trouble. I must note that the woman we dealt with at the desk was very kind to us throughout the situation. Also the campground area appeared to be well-kept and maintained.

Love the motel vibe where you can walk just steps to your car to unload…ground floor. When we headed out to Mt Rushmore the next day we then drove through the park drive to the West side and saw all the sites.

- Beth (4/5): - Black mold on bathroom wall next to mirror. Floor had multiple soft spots. Comforters were either dirty or stained. The room smelled moldy. The pool was closed. Part of the sidewall caved in. It still had water in it and it was gross stinky water. The service was okay but the hotel is in desperate need of repair/renovations.

- Todd (10/5): Great lodge style accommodations! Clean, comfortable, great value and friendly & helpful staff! - Perfect place to lay your head at night if you’re touring the Badlands! Great value, cleanliness, comfortable, and friendly staff. We stayed in a double queen room on the 2nd floor and were very pleased with the lodge style accommodations. You just can’t beat the location and the views! Our room was very spacious and clean and had everything we needed, including a mini fridge. The bed was extremely comfortable. We had a great nights sleep. The A/C worked great. Staff was very helpful when we had questions about checking in late after their office closed. Very easy process! Call ahead if you have any questions. Would absolutely stay there there again. Perfect rating score for a completely accurate description of the accommodations. 👉 I would say any of the complaints or gripes I’ve read in other reviews are likely from more “indoorsy” folks that aren’t used to being outside of the city or suburbs. Flies, bugs, etc are to be expected any time you’re visiting National or State Parks centered around nature… it comes with the territory. We did not experience anything unexpected and certainly no issues with our accommodations. No complaints!

- Mary (7/5): - Location Not very clean. Hair in the bathtub drain, hair on the furniture, the floor was dirty. The toilet was ancient, and took some coaxing to flush, the air conditioning unit was extremely loud, and although there was an extremely noisy bathroom fan, it did nothing.
- Tordini (8/5): This was a great location for exploring the Badlands! Cute little hotel in a campground setting. - The location!
- Marlin (4/5): - This is a minimally maintained property in just functional condition. The most disappointing part is that we left a phone charger in the room, but they supposedly didn't find it while cleaning.

- Robert (8/5): Would Stay Again - A little dated but clean and comfortable. Should note the restaurant is only for breakfast and is closed on Sunday and Monday. No ice machine but they offered a free 3 lb bag of ice.
- Angela (2/5): Not a good experience. - The water in our room was almost non existent and the shower didn’t work at all. The bathroom was shabby. We had problems with check in when we arrived too.
