- robertcI4794UU (2/5): STSAY AWAY FROM THIS RESORT!!! - STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESORT!!! I am a Nurse and my wife is a Resident Support Aid. We both work hard caring for seniors. We wanted to celebrate the new year at a New Year's Eve dinner and dance hosted by Lagoon City Pier One Resort. We were so excited that we paid $349 in advance for the dinner, dance, and overnight room. But the resort canceled the event and only partially refunded us. They still owe us $181. When contacted, they refused to repay the money they stole from us!!!
- ANNA MAY (6/5): - I booked this place expecting the pool being open as it was marketed here in Expedia that it has an indoor pool. We got there and they said the pool is out of service. It was disappointing as the staff were laughing about it.

- Sivasatya (6/5): - The Lagoon city is beautiful and peaceful. I enjoyed the quiet environment - away from the hustle-bustle. The property is quite dated and not well maintained. Appliances are a worn-out. Breakfast has very limited options of bagels, yoghurt and cereal - no hot breakfast. But the location is fantastic.
- wendynZ3964RV (4/5): Not clean, cold, and needs an update - Unfortunately, our brief overnight did not meet our expectations. We were a party of 3 and stayed in rm 207, a king bed with a sofa bed in a separate living room. The sofa bed was already made, in fact, was not changed between guests, as evidenced by hair between the sheets. The mattress needs to be replaced badly since the springs could be felt through and caused a terrible sleep. The light bulbs above the table flickered faintly but were obviously very bothersome in the dark to the occupant of the sofa bed. The heat was off when we arrived and stayed cold in the hallway while we were there. We thought the heat should have been turned on in preparation for our arrival. There was garbage in the closet dresser (a plastic bag and bottle cap). The drawers in the bathroom had pieces of hair in them. Overall, the housekeeping was very poor.

There is no one at the desk and if you need water or anything else you’re not going to find it. They really need of vending machine or something like that or at least leaves a couple bottles of water in the room Maybe they should have a minibar of some sort if they’re not going to have staff at night

- Deborah (4/5): Will not stay here again. - Front desk closed at 5 pm. No text sent with lockbox code. No staff on the premises overnight - I would not have stayed here if I had known that. The room smelled musty, probably due to the carpet which had stains on it. Bathroom and bedding was clean.
- Xing (10/5): - I recently stayed there for two times and three nights, and it was indeed a relaxing experience. The resort is in a very quiet location, which made for some of the better sleeps I've had in a long time. Waking up and energized set me up for a productive day. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. One of the highlights of the resort is the private beach. It's a great place to take peaceful walks, and enjoy the serenity of the water, a perfect spot for relaxation, and watching the sunset from the beach is a beautiful note of goodness of life.

- Mark (2/5): Way too expensive for what you get Disappointed - I paid $370 for one night stay in a suite that was old worn down rust on the heater. Just look dirty. The walls need to be painted. There was a stove in the suite or used to be a stove now it’s got a metal piece over where I assumed the burners were and it was silicone, but it’s just flopping around. The bed was uncomfortable. The comforter that they use on the bed was too thick. The restaurant didn’t open till 12 noon in the restaurant the walls need to be painted. The carpet needs to be changed just dirty looking for the price needs a major uplift.

Is this place trying to promote oil and get people to hate EVs? Operating on a skeleton staff. One person serving the whole restaurant for dinner with almost 40 customers having food. Food quality is not very great. Oily bar food. Cleaning staff asking if they should clean certain area in the room. Admin dying to put wrong coffee pods in the machine. Telling us that Uber does not exist when there is. This place is in a very nice setting with a nice small beach that is great for children. Lots of beautiful trees with fresh air.

Food quality low-wings, burger, salad not much to expect from anyway, but below par for that food category as perceived by everyone in our group. It was clear that the cleaning staff were more interested in lounging on the patios smoking than attending to their responsibilities. After seeing the condition of the first room and the inadequate cleanliness of the “upgraded” room we were moved to, we decided that staying at this resort was not worth the trouble. We promptly checked out and found accommodations elsewhere, which, though not as conveniently located, provided a far superior experience in terms of service and cleanliness.

They have a lot of nerve charging $200/ night for this place!
- Lysanne (4/5): - Although the property was advertised as including access to a pool and to the beach, neither was accessible as the pool was under repairs (for a long time it seemed) and the beach had a swimming advisory (permanent). The exterior property was filled with goose poo and no effort was made to clean the surrounding area. Bicycles were made available but were all in poor condition, lacking either pedals or a chain. The staff was friendly, no complaints there. But the hotel should advertise its current situation and not what was available years ago.

- SarahP04444 (2/5): Great Location, Horrible Service - Only stay here if your standards are low for everything but the water and beach. For reference our waterfront 2 queen bed room was $300+ for one night. Compelled to write this after fire alarm went off at 1am and no staff was around whatsoever. We had to call the fire department ourselves and no staff seen until 30min after. General Manager “Anna” had no interest in speaking about our absurd guest experience. She actually blamed me for her delay arriving to the building when she arrived well after the fire fighters did! No emergency number to call if something happens at hotel - just a sign saying “text only” number. When you text nobody responds. Later they told us the text was received they just don’t respond to you… The emergency contact number the fire dept had on file for the building was out of service. Firefighters were just as confused as I was with no staff present until 30+min after the alarm was pulled when they arrived. If someone is hard of hearing I think there’s a risk you wouldn’t hear the hallway alarm. When I attempted to speak with the GM she gave nothing that resembled customer service. GM told me had I phoned their emergency number before phoning fire dept she would have arrived faster. This emergency number she speaks of isn’t posted anywhere. She says it was given to us upon check in- we only got a room key and photo attached of that with no phone number. She said nothing empathetic or kind. Actually the opposite. She asked “so are you looking for a FREE stay?!??” They seemed to think it was petty for one to expect the bare minimum of a hotel having an emergency contact and staff on site to respond to emergencies. We lost hours of sleep and had to evacuate in middle of night with baby and toddler. We couldn’t enjoy the amenities we came for. GM told me “Pam” the owner would be there in morning at 9am if I wanted to speak with her. Next morning front desk said there is no Pam and the owners don’t ever come on site. Cons: Customer service just sucks. Upon arrival for check in customer service was cold. No info about place/amenities and very few words. Restaurant has a scallop, shrimp and mussels meal and you won’t get scallops lol. I wouldn’t say food was bad but was just ok. Dirty looking stained carpets as seen in other reviews. Rooms stink like a cottage you might be opening for the first time in the spring. Toddler said “it’s STINKY”hahah! Bathroom and entrance very cramped for space and we had a higher priced room. No emergency response plan in place other than this text only number that they don’t respond to. Expect a challenge opening the front door of the hotel from the inside… not maintained to the point where you can’t open it without learning a new skill first lol. You have to push on one side, pull on the other side and give it one big push. Upper fridge shelf will freeze your food solid. Coffee horrible with wrong kind of coffee pod for coffee maker lol. Pros: Bath tub was clean, room mostly clean and comfy beds. Beach was nice with soft sand. Beautiful waterfront view from our room. Beautiful restaurant patio overlooking the water.
- Arlene (10/5): - Main floor rooms facing the waterway have patios and grassy areas with garden furniture and woodburning chiminea fire pits we used for hotdog and marshmallow roasts. Breakfast on their patio under umbrellas was good as was a family dinner for 12 in the dining room. Pet friendly with great surrounding walking and swimming areas for our Lab. Mini kitchens but you should bring your own plates, glassware, cutlery, dishsoap etc. Huge closets but don't forget to bring extra hangers.The indoor swimming pool is a great feature but was closed for maintenance.

Here are some of the major issues I encountered during my stay: Dirty Rooms: Upon entering our room, we immediately noticed that it was far from clean. Dust was visibly settled on the furniture, and the floors looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in days. Bad Smell: There was an unpleasant odor that permeated the entire room. It was a mix of mustiness and something else that was hard to identify, but it made the stay quite uncomfortable. Dirty Fridge with Ice Buildup: The fridge in the room was in a deplorable state. It was dirty, with stains. Uncomfortable pool-out sofa bed: The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. My kids woke up each morning with back pain due to the poor quality of the bed. Poor Service: The service at the hotel was severely lacking. When I approached the front desk with our concerns, the staff were unhelpful and indifferent. Overall, my experience at the hotel was far below my expectations. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Hotel is pet friendly, you can clearly tell those spots were from dog pee . We checked out as soon as we observed the dirty conditions . Our night was ruined and I will not ever return to this place again .

They no longer have an indoor pool and hot tub and the exterior of the grounds have not been cared for. Also, we had to ask for extra towel in the bathroom and a bath mat. The roof top patio was not available and looked like it had been neglected for years. The beach was awesome. We absolutely love the community.

Patio adjoining the room dirty and infested with shad flies. Overall a poorly maintained room. Would not stay again.

The carpet tiles were badly stained. The room needs to be painted. The coffee in the room is awful (Mother Parkers coffee bags for a Keurig machine) and because the restaurant isn't open until 9:00 we had to drive into town to get a coffee. The restaurant is expensive for mediocre quality. The staff are friendly.

The Pool , hot tub at and restaurant alll closed and not mentioned until after booking and unable to get refund. Supposed to include breakfast but again no one there and restaurant closed! But still charge high season rates to stay in an empty outdated rundown filthy smelly shell of a room. Better off sleeping in the car

Additionally there was no information left for wifi or anything else. It was and okay place just for sleeping but for a one night stay I wouldn’t say it was worth the money other than in comparison to other pricer options in the area.

With beach access and water sport activities. The workers at the reception were very helpful and friendly. The room was quite dated and was very cold. The hallway is not heated and the unused rooms are left ajar with the heat off. It took one day to get the room up to a comfortable temperature. The room could also use some vacuuming and cleaning, as well as updates. The refrigerator did not work and had to be replaced. The room was spacious and the views were excellent. The pool is under construction which was disappointing.

I noticed the refrigerator was not cold. The room was a bit cool with the heat up full blast. Comfortable bed and excellent shower pressure. This was our second staff there. I really liked the upper floor bedroom better as well.

Was going to bed and no top sheet on the bed, I asked for one and was told they don’t put top sheets on but they change the comforter every day, which never happened. Someone disconnected our cable from the television so we needed help getting the television to work. The hotel needs a major overhaul, everything old and worn out. Will not stay again until renovation. Ten o’clock pm, we were woken up by a barking dog in the room across the hall from us. Elle had dinner in the restaurant and it was not good at all.
