You sink into seating & wooden edge hard on the back of your legs. Bed was reasonable & small kitchen was ok for 2 night stay.

Peter (7/5): Comfortable and convenient motel by Lake Taupō. - A comfortable mini-suite with a bedroom, bathroom with spa bath, well equipped kitchenette and sitting room/extra single bed. Just across the road from the lake, and an easy walk to the shops and restaurants. Easy parking. "Lake View" is stretching it a bit, but you could just see the lake between the buildings. The room was overpriced for what it was, although to be fair it was the weekend of the Ironman and the town was packed, with most hotels full. The shower was in the spa bath, and we had to be careful getting in and out because there was nothing to hold on to, no handrails. Could be tricky for older or less mobile people. The shower hose was split and leaking badly, but we told the office, so it should be fixed by now.

Comfortable unit with essential kitchen appliances/kitchenware. Quiet room as set back from lake front road. Had a good nights sleep - bed was firm but not uncomfortable. Was great to walk along to the coffee cart on the lakefront in the morning, with beautiful view across the lake to the mountains. I prefer a more firm pillow for neck support but the one provided was okay.

Very dated throughout (except bathroom). Only one cutting knife in the kitchen which was a carving knife. Strange smell in suite on arrival (reported). Lack of info when spoke to staff after self check in. There was a local event the following evening which you would have thought they’d want to promote

Elisabeth (5/5): Nice place, very difficult payment process - The room, location and facilities were all very nice. Some signs of wear - but nothing that made a functional difference. Nice to have free Netfix. Great location - walking distance to town. The payment process was very, very painful. Given the number of scams on Booking I am very wary of emails asking me for direct payment. I did however pay direct to the bank account - and still didn't get the check info until I had to email them a screen shot of transaction! Real amateur hour stuff. Even if you pay via CC - plus 2.2% BTW - you still have to do it manually. For a place that is very proud of its fast WIFI and netfix - this is very, very old school. And you need those check in details - which access a lock box - because the reception is not manned for most of the day

Stu & Lisa (8/5): Great location, well kept with excellent housekeeping & well appointed spa bathroom. Great value! - Great location, excellent housekeeping, nice bathrooms & good off street parking, although a little tight. Easy to walk to the lakefront across the road or to walk into town, great location & for the value. Unfortunately the cooking smells from the restaurant next door did tend to be quite strong, but on an upside, if you want a close restaurant, there's 1 right next door The smell from the kitchen next door. It would be nice if the TV was a little bigger but it was good with the free Netflix.

Coralie (10/5): Enjoyable and comfortable - Great motel, clean. Loved the spa bath , great location and nice view over the lake. Manager went out of his way to help and make our stay comfortable. Fine for us, we were on the top floor. Stair access only, however two other floors available.
Nigel Lloyd (6/5): Adequately Provided what we needed for the stay. - Location on the waterfront Noisy people in room next door. Cleaners removed some personal property although minor was an inconvenience.

Debra (9/5): Excellent value for money. - Location. Self contained unit. Really comfortable bed. Staff helpful and communicative making it easy to sort check in. Daily servicing of unit a nice surprise. Lack of exhaust fan in kitchen which may explain the smell in the room. Despite notices requesting non smelly foods be cooked in the room it seems previous inhabitants may not have complied.
