Guest Reviews
- Caroline (10/5): Great location - Fantastic place to stay. 10 min walk to Bugis street. 5 mins to train station. Very clean and staff were welcoming. Room was great. Breakfast selection was on par with most hotels. Couldn't fault it. Would stay here again next time we stopover.
- Ailsa (8/5): - Comfortable three night stay, pleasant staff, good sized room, adequate breakfast, MRT at the end of the street. We would happily stay again.
- Elke (10/5): - 3 MRT stations in walking distance plus busses including bus to airport - ideal for sightseeing. Staff is attentive and very friendly.
- Oi Ling Helena Rosa (10/5): - Convenient. Easy access to local as better grade restaurants
- Robin (10/5): - Friendly attentive staff from cleaners to manager.Impressive..
At the heart of the city easy MRT underground connections nearby.RafflesHotel China Town and Burgas shopping close by.Great value.
- Ma. Teresa (10/5): - Everything was great in this Hotel, me and my family stayed for 7 seven nights. We enjoyed our Christmas & New year holidays because it was close to everything. We will come back to this hotel again. Thank you Hotel Royal Queens.❤️
- Susan (10/5): Great place to stay in Singapore. - Fantastic location. 3 MRT stations within short walking distance. Very friendly, accomodating staff. Buffet breakfast nice variety. Fast lifts. Clean, tidy rooms serviced daily.
- Peter (8/5): - Very friendly staff. Easy to get around. good breakfast.
- Don (10/5): - Comfortable hotel located close to MRT stations, food and shopping .
- Jennifer (10/5): Great Place to Stay - Hi have stayed here several times as hotel is conveniently located, staff are really pleasant and you often get an early check-in or late checkout.
Rooms are a decent size, beds are comfortable as are the pillows. Room amenities include fridge, kettle, safe and ironing equipment. Wifi is OK. Could be improved with fresh milk and coffee maker, but that is a minor issue for a short stay.
Breakfast buffet is adequate although hot dishes can be a bit of an eclectic mix. As it was a $5 add on when I booked it was OK, but not worth the $25 walking price.
Hotel is close to metro ($3 and 40 min to airport) and walking distance to eg Little India, Marine Bay, Orchard Road, etc.
Would stay there again.
- Evangeline (10/5): - I don't have anything bad to say about the hotel .All staffs are nice and helpful. It's very convenient that they have breakfast down at the main floor of the hotel, the foods are always fresh and very good. The public transportation is very close to the hotel.it's worth to stay at Hotel Royal Queens but book with breakfast as well. Will stay again
- Jennifer (10/5): Good Value and Central - Have stayed here before and still best value hotel I can find in Singapore. Staff are really good - the lad at breakfast on our 2nd day not only remembered our room number, but my name too. Also received a complementary fruit platter for my check in review - much appreciated and late checkout. Hotel rooms are in reasonable condition with comfortable beds and pillows, fridge and adequate bathroom. Hotel is central and walking distance to central attractions eg Little India, Orchard Road, Bugis, Marina Bay and even Chinatown for the most adventurous.
- Barry (10/5): We will return! - This was our 4th visit to the Hotel. As always, the front-of-house staff, catering crew and cleaners were friendly, helpful and totally customer focused. We also acknowledge the efforts of the many workers who support their colleagues behind the scenes. Guest Experience Manager Mr Alfyro Ozaer made himself known to us and was often seen around the hotel chatting to staff and guests. Our stay could not have been any more enjoyable. Comfortable room, excellent housekeeping, tasty and varied breakfast buffet and local insights into the area.
- Shiny (10/5): - Everything is nearby within walkable distance. Room is quite big for Singapore standard. Staff are very good and helpful. 3 churches are within 5 minutes walking distance and MRT is just 1 minute away. Best place to stay with family
- Margaret (6/5): - The hotel was adequate for our needs
- Mario Jr (8/5): Location and Spacious Rooms - We have stayed in Hotel Royal @Queens before. We choose it for the location - next to 3 churches, MRT station, a lot of affordable shopping and dining places. The rooms are also spacious / big for Singapore standards and rate. Breakfast Buffet is not bad.
- Phuong (10/5): - Good
- Nasir (10/5): - I liked their service. I would strongly recommend to stay there.
- Susan (10/5): - The staff were brilliant. The room was dated but the bedsheets and towels very clean and fresh. There were small flies coming out of the bathroom basin overflow, which also looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in a long time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff were brilliant. The room was dated but the bedsheets and towels very clean and fresh. There were small flies coming out of the bathroom basin overflow, which also looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in a long time.
- Rosen (8/5): - The toilet seat was not ok - not comfortable for men to use the toilet. Dust. 3 guests only 2 pair of towels. We booked a king bed because we were with child but there were two
- Chiara (8/5): Lovely hotel - Very comfortable beds, friendly, smiling team, always happy to help. Large rooms and great breakfast. Our bathroom looked a bit old and dirty due to age (not due to them not cleaning)
The “gym” only has three things in it - running/cycling/walking (no weights) and the pool is small, but nice.
- Saikat (10/5): - We stayed here for 1 night. The hotel is clean, very conveniently located. Also, the staffs are very nice and helpful. We would recommend it to others.
- Ethel Kate (10/5): - Great location and very good value, comfortable accommodation, providing breakfast daily. This was a wonderful base for our week’s stay in Singapore. Within walking distance to many attractions, such as Suntec City, Marina Gardens by the Bay and Orchard Road. MRT train stop 100 metres away. Staff were always very friendly and helpful. Thank you!
- Kylie (10/5): - The location was great, walking distance to everything we wanted. The room was a decent size and had everything we required for our stay.
The staff were welcoming and friendly.
- Dawn (10/5): - The Hotel Royal is a great hotel. Its location is perfect for those of us who like to stay close, but not to crowded with other people. The staff is wonderful and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Singapore.
- Mark (8/5): - Friendly staff, convenient location and value for money.
- Felix Alberto Jr (6/5): - Pretty average. Liked the cold water dispenser on all floors. Menu for restaurant a bit disappointing.
- Gail (10/5): - Very convenient location, close to MRT stations. Can easily walk to Bugis Junction from Hotel. MRT was super easy to get around, bought a Tourist 3 Day Pass to use, really got our moneys worth. Nice breakfast at Hotel.
- Michael (8/5): Good location and good quality - Enjoyed it, more than expected. Room was good and the location was great. Breakfast was good value as a decent priced Add On. I will stay there again/
- Margaret (10/5): - Staff are extremely helpful. Breakfast was great with lots of variety. Pool was nice after a hot day. Rooms were clean, a little dated but location and price were fantastic.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Standard offering - Stayed at Hotel Royal @ Queens for 7 nights for a work trip. Room on the 14th floor which was very quiet and spacious with a comfortable King size bed. Small bathroom but perfectly usable. Breakfast was standard with regular options. Overall it was fine but not high quality or exceptional.
- Wilhelmina (8/5): - The bathroom shower over tub sprayed water everywhere drowning bathroom. Shower suction mat totally mouldy on the suction side. Shower over tub could be difficult for the even slightly infirm. We had enormous trouble with WIFI not working for 4 days Many complaints to reception. Reception did send people up to look, and then a worker had a look at router in ceiling and said it could not be fixed. Had to use laptop in lift area at a hotspot. We were offered a room change but decided that as we were leaving 48 hours later not worth the bother. There was a lack of sufficient sitting area in reception, but i feel that work was being done to counteract that.
- Chris (8/5): - It was in a good position close to the MRT. Most staff very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and tidy. The hotel could do with a lounge to sit, read or wait and there was some mould in our bathroom.
- Heng Huat (4/5): - The hotel conciege is friendly considering that there are food court s nearby the breakfast price is too expensive and for the we are paying per room nights, water should be free I was told to get a bottle to fill up at a dispenser which to me its an Inn type of service
Everytime i shoer the bath room gets flooded and the TV chaneld sucks the filipino reception its is not helfull and no light control consolidated near the bed
- Christine (8/5): - Location was good near MRT and walkable to Marina Bay area. Reasonably quiet location and attentive, helpful staff.
Room well serviced and early each day which was appreciated.
Bathroom a bit dated (drainage slow) but overall good value for cost.
- Husain (8/5): - Arrived early but did not allow early check-in. However they gave me a room an hour earlier than estimated.
The security deposit was made by cash and was provided a receipt. They failed to mention that on check out I had to provide the receipt to get the refund.
- Angela (8/5): - Very convenient and central location at affordable price. Included buffet breakfast which is very convenient.
- Janet (8/5): - Location is great as mrt and bugis all walking distance. The hotel itself is outdated as I stayed here 10years ago. You can see this in the bathrooms and also the towels provided were well worn as edges were all ragged and coming apart. Breakfast needs more variation also. We chose this hotel mainly for location.
- Paul (10/5): - Very good stay
- Alexander (10/5): - Hotel location is not crowded with traffic. Near the MRT and Bus Station and shopping malls.
- Noel (8/5): - A great place to stay. Just a few steps away from the Bras Basah MRT. Great location.
- handoko (8/5): Nice hotel - We enjoy stay at this hotel and we csn sleep well. The location is very good and the environment is very nice. We can sleep soundly, although at the first our room air condition is not running well but is OK after the hotel's technician repair it
- Mee Ping (8/5): - The hotel needs upgrading, too old . Air-conditioning in the room cannot adjust.
- Peter (10/5): 3 Night Stay - Excellent service all round - very friendly and helpful staff.
Great breakfast too.
- Renu (10/5): - Very good experience, very friendly staff, everything is clean, breakfast so good everything was excellent...
- Craig (8/5): Comfortable and convenient. - Comfortable and on a great spot. Bit smelly but air con fixes it. Smelt of previous smoker.
Good breakfast, staff helpful. Would recommend.
- All (10/5): - Very friendly helpful staff.
Close to shopping and MRT.
I would recommend this hotel to a friend.
- Bee Bee (10/5): - nice location. clean and safe room.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Clean, well appointed accommodation in a great spot right near raffles. Staff were friendly and helpful and the cleaning service was thorough and excellent. Would definitely stay again.
- Craig (10/5): - Liked breakfast buffet option. Also location convenient to two different subway lines.
- Kevin (4/5): Very bad service - Not so-goood about the toilet and room! Not clean! We did complaints but no action!
We stay one night only and also tell them to cancelled 14th of june! After we moved to Hotel Boss! We hoped your can claim back one night for me! Thanks and best regards,
Kevin
- Gerard (4/5): - Overall quite disappointed, nothing like what I saw in the pictures. Room was in need of refurbishment but worst of all was the poor housekeeping. I understand there maybe a staff shortage but not once was the room vacuumed in the 9 days I was there. The upper half of the tall mirror in the room had not been cleaned in months, previous guests had used their finger to put the date in the dust…September and again in December 2021.
Hallway carpets were not vacuumed daily. There is better value elsewhere.
- Benjamin (8/5): Good experience for staycay - First time here. Rooms clean and comfy. Bed a bit soft. Decor and feel like KSL JB. Convenient location near food and shopping. Small details though - 3 pax sharing room only 2 pax amenities, cracked lamp shade, wonky toilet flush button. Ironing board with burnt portions on the board cover. Just feels a bit... Old...
But minor to me. Didn't affect comfort or stay. All in all an affordable price for a staycay. Staff were friendly and smiling. BEST THING: AIRCON WORKS WELL!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was comfortable, quite clean although there was a bit dirt here and there..but I love the bathtub. Overall I like staying there and might stay again in the future
- Mohamed Razak (10/5): - Exceptional beyond my expectation and we have an enjoyable stay even though its only for 1 night only...
- Mohan (4/5): Early check-in has it's price.. - I was initially very elated with the front office for making immediate arrangements for my very early check-in (9am). Due to my request for an early check-in, I was alloted the first room available. The hotel seriously needs a revamping. My room was in total darkness for an hour and the the electrical circuit board had to be manually reset by the maintenance via my room's flase ceiling. The toilet seat cover and the bowl had excrement. The sink was perpetually choked and kept leaving residue on the sides when the water finally drained. The TV is ancient and the remote wasn't working either. For the price I paid, I could have easily gotten a similar room in a recently refurbished hotel. It's a shame that the hotel has good people eccentric staff but really bad accommodation.
- Meh (6/5): - Nothing spectacular, pictures much nicer than reality
- Meng Lung (8/5): high CP hotel - Nice hotel with convenient location. Close to central area such as Merlion park , bugis, orchard road and fort canning park .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location - Very good location and near to the mrt and shopping centres. Hotel staff was friendly and check in and out process was very fast. Room has an smell when entered in and beds are rather springy.
- Wan (8/5): - Well, the room was nice. Environment was good and the staff was able to communicate well. The staff that attended to me was called Wann. She deserve a big praise.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location. Subway station within 100 yards of hotel. Walkable to most downtown sights.
- Steve (8/5): - Excellent location. Close to Bugis market and shopping areas and 1 minute stroll to Bras Basah metro station.
Hotel is basic but pleasant for our needs and would stay again. Staff were pleasant, bed was comfortable, lifts worked as did hot water system.
- VJM (8/5): - Decent hotel, well located for the price. Easy reach of main attractions etc
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet rooms, very clean. Would stay here again! Thx
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Location is brilliant but the hotel is undergoing a facelift - and a pretty cheap one at that.
The place smells due to poor plumbing design and it’s age. The beds are like concrete. The AC did not work. The shower in general is in the bath and the shower curtain sticks to you.
We complained and were shifted into a “renovated” room with a shower stall instead of a bath. New carpets; new paint; new TV; AC worked but sounded like a revving motor on low; fridge useless; still smelled the drain while brushing teeth; bed the same - concrete! We asked for a mattress topper and got two thin mattress protectors in its place. Worst six nights we’ve spent. Never go back!!
- Cecilie (10/5): Enjoyed our stay at Royal @ Queens - Nice hotel with a very good location. The breakfast was ok. Staff was friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Trash around the outside of the hotel, Bar/lounge didn't open until 8pm, limited food at restaurant, Room was decent other than the lack of TV channels (English), lighting in the bathroom was dim. No microwave in the room. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Easy access to the subway and public transportation.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Hotel couldn’t find my reservation. I have to make a new one at front desk and pay money again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Plenty of variety in the breakfast buffet. Able to get to and from.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - good place
- Josephine (8/5): Great location - It’s a ok hotel in a good location. Near train station. Staff was also helpful.
- Jonathan (10/5): - all are clean and good specially the receptionist and the food is also good.
- Trevor (6/5): - This is a clean and functional hotel with absolutely no atmosphere. It is conveniently located too. For the cost, they should provide free drinking water, but they charge. Particularly irritating is the fact that they ask when you are settling the bill, whether you have consumed anything from the fridge. Apart from bottled water, the fridge contains only a few bottles of soft drink. It's bloody insulting and I've told them so. But they require your credit card details when booking in, in case you abscond without paying for a soft drink! Breakfast is not worth it and to be avoided when the Chinese tourist groups are staying. Not a pretty experience! Much better options nearby.
- Kathryn (8/5): Great location and value - Great location central to everything. Breakfast great and service was outstanding. Building is a little tired and the pool area could do with a little uplift with some shade options.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Run-down hotel, nicely located near public transportation. Only one outlet (not the bedside) could charge our phones since an adapter was needed for the rest. The outlets in the bathroom didn’t work in both of our rooms.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Front desk greetings need improvement, bathroom needs update special bath curtain.
- Astrid (8/5): - The location was good. Waking distance to most, and next to (20 meters or so) Bras B station. The staff was amazing. The bed was good but the pillows too high after my opinion.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I liked the location of the property. It was very close to all of the places we wanted to visit in Singapore. I was just very disappointed in how our room looked. It was dirty and disappointing. Luckily, they have a great staff and was able to accomodate us but the pictures are somewhat deceiving. Great breakfast though! Very impressed!
- Paul (10/5): - Fantastic hotel and will definitely stay again. Staff where very helpful and the rooms were great
- Craig (10/5): - Nice rooms. Good amenities. Good breakfast buffet. Responsive service. Convenient to attractions and MRT.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just ok - The hotel is conveniently located 3 minutes walk to Bras Basah MRT station, 5 minutes to Bugis Junction and Bugis Street. However, the hotel is rather old, breakfast provided was left something to be desired....and no bottled water is provided, you'll have to purchase them...
- Russell (8/5): Two day stop-over in Singapore - This hotel is clean and tidy with breakfast included in the price. Very central to shopping and train services with an easy connection to Changi Airport.
Singapore Botanical gardens is a fantastic area with the orchid garden outstanding.
- Nola (6/5): Good - but don't expect a smile ! - Overall I cannot down-rate this hotel as it has a lot going for it. Location is great being only steps from the MRT, room size is very good for Singapore, breakfast had a nice variety to suit all (get an omelette made just for you), there is a fine lap pool, stable wifi and we had a room with a view as requested.
BUT - there was a lack of rapport from the staff, with the EXCEPTION OF ROBERT who always greeted me very nicely every night when I went to get ice. His smile was the only one in the whole place to make you feel welcome. I approached the desk twice during my 4 night stay, once to report the safe wasn't working and once to TRY and book a cab for the next day. Was treated off-hand both times, as if I was a bother. Would I go back - probably, because it was a good place to stay and I would like to think that a review like this might just put a smile on someone else's face when they greet a guest.
- Tan (8/5): - Wifi signal weak
- Michelle (6/5): Great location, staff lovely but rooms unclean - The hotel is a great location and so close to the MRT it makes it easy to get around.
Buffet breakfast was very good. Walking distance to local foodcourts and restaurants.
Staff at the front desk very attentive and pleasant.
We had 5 rooms on the 15th floor and two weeks prior 2 rooms on the 11th floor. The cleanliness of the rooms really let the hotel down.
Rooms seemed surface tidy but very dirty with thick dust around skirting, mould in the bathrooms, two rooms had blocked vents in the bathroom full if black gunk and under our bed had tissues and chip packets and a layer of dust (the trash wasn't ours.)
We brought it up with the front desk but nothing changed during our stay.
It's a shame because the cleaners just didn't do their jobs and let the hotel down. All 5 of our rooms were dirty so it didn't seem an isolated issue.
The vacuum cleaner sat in the hallway for two days unmoved. I was tempted to bring it in and vacuum the room myself.
Small things like bleaching the mould in the bathroom. Cleaning under the beds. Using the vacuum and emptying the rubbish would have made the hotel excellent value, but we all came away a bit disappointed.
It was a situation where the internet photos don't depict what you get.
This was our experience in 7 from 7 different rooms. Hopefully they can sort it out because we did really love the location. But the rooms felt dirty.
- SAGAR (6/5): Breakfast varieties need improvement - The amenities were ok. But breakfast varieties is not up to mark. Need to improve.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff are nice. However, drainage is sucked so that water comes out from drainage when i bath.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Considering the price, very good.
If the breakfast could have a bit more choice it would be perfect
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel was close to the station.
- tin (8/5): Close to transport , comfortable and spacious room - Comfortable room, quiet, convenient ,close to transport, eateries, located near art gallery, National museum, university and other well known land marks
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location. Fantastic staff that were very helpful and were able to give directions and information about the town and what to see. Singaore zoo was fantastic, the hop on hop off bus was great to see the town.
- andrew (10/5): Great location - Great location, central walking distance to everything, china town the river precinct, little India etc. breakfast was great lots of options.
- melissa (8/5): Great value for money - Was good location and value for money. Has connecting rooms. Breakfast was simple but adequate.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place to stay - It’s a good stay will come again
- Peter (8/5): Comfortable but a bit tired - It was fine. Miserable view from the window of an old (unoccupied?) block. Hotel decor a bit tired, and breakfast bar very busy and choice relatively limited.
- Rajesh (6/5): Big room, good location but bad check in/out proce - Big room, good location but bad check in/out process (got our room key around 3pm) and dusty, smelly room
- Darren (8/5): Convenient location comfortable - The hotel is located within a short walk to the MRT, Bras Basah, and the financial areas of Singapore. It is easy to walk to many locations nearby and possible to visit sights such as the Singapore zoo by a simple train and bus ride.
The hotel staff were very helpful when needed and the room was quiet and easy to sleep in.
Worth considering for a stopover in Singapore whether work or pleasure.
- Chikara (8/5): Nice and clean hotel - near shopping center and subway station. Room is old but big and clean.NO FREE water in the room.Although it was not explained that WIFI is restricted by the amount of data, it is limited if there is a lot of traffic.please be careful
- Madam Curie (4/5): Dirty room! -
We didn't have a very good experience. The room were dusty, the bathroom dirty!
However, we really enjoyed the breakfasts showing a variety of hot and cold meals from Asian and American food. Most of the staff was nice and friendly.
