- Mohammed (4/5): My bad experience - As I stayed in that hotel for 10 days (with 2 reservations) my first was as 2 persons in 1 room starting Oct. 31 till Nov. 7 but my daughter who was supposed to join me didn't come only on Nov. 4th & not stay long only 2 nights, as I need to extend my stay I did second reservation till Nov.10 at 1 person for 3 nights .... on my checkout morning they told me I didn't have the room with breakfast & they will charge for that only one I was so surprised that behavior as I pay for high rate on the beginning to reserve the room for 2 but it was in fact only me alone for 4 nights until my daughter's arrival ..... I suppose the should consider that before they ask me to pay for only one breakfast or at the start of the second reservation they should notify me for that point on my reservation to be aware for. On the other side the design of bathroom (toilet) was so bad and difficult to use especially for me as an Oldman, they had to consider that when they fix the room for me. Overall it was a very bad experience to stay at that hotel because of its location which was differs than what shown on the website.

We also could watch the horses in the street from our balcony. And our room was totally renovated! Don’t let the entry and reception throw you when you first arrive. The place is great; the staff is great. When they opened the door to our room I was pleasantly surprised! 😊 Breakfast is simple and is served on the rooftop restaurant as is dinner when you can watch the Sound and Light Show on the Sphinx and Pyramids across the street. We enjoyed the Mixed Grill one evening. We liked the other guests and even got invited to join in a birthday party! Music, dancing, cake — great fun. Be sure to ask for a renovated room when making your reservations.

Needs a major renovation.
- Bahaa (4/5): Sea side view - I have booked 2 nights with sea side view , In first night the sea view wasnt clear at all also the room was full of dust and my kids have a tough cough because of that and the water clour from faucet was not clear "Yellow" when i have compliened they changed the room with real sea side view with less dust and fixed water. Usually i dont change the selected room by hotel and it was my first time and i am asking if they are not ready with clean rooms why did they recieve booking !!!!!!!!!

The breakfast spread isnt great and one has to search for people to prepare eggs etc. I cud not eat properly because it took 15 mins for that guy to start preparing "Syrian sandwich" after 2 reminders someone came to the counter to start preparing and it took him some time to get everything he needed to prepare the sandwich!.

- AbdulQ (2/5): - There is not much to like about this property besides its proximity to the water walkway and a quick ride to the train. In contrast, It’s about 40 minutes away from the airport. The hotel staff were extremely abrasive and forceful with their assertion of power. There are two security checkpoints before the front desk- one is a barrier outside the second is a metal detector and bag scanner. You cannot handle your own bags, and you CANNOT have outside food or guests in the hotel. There were elevators that permanently did not work and had burds living in the ducts. The room was subpar. The bathroom shower had layers of dirt everywhere and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. I didnt even get washed out of disgust. Its was utterly uncomfortable. Trust me the comments but he inflated cause it’s no way this place has such interesting star value.

Currently operate a strict policy - must checkout by12pm. 2. Allow part refund if guest don't stay the night. E.g use room only for a few hours due to uncontrollable circumstances. 3. Match ebookers price when guest extend stay. 4. Remove charges for use of meeting room by guests. 5. Develop a business centre (not just dining room style tables and chairs curently available in an open area) 6. Photocopies/printing at 4.00 EGP is expensive. 2 mins walk from hotel government department offer service at 1.15 EGP pr page. 7. View is not good thus room rate to reflect this. 8. Very difficult to locate, suggest street signs or other markering tools. 9. If guest don't have dinner or breakfast then remove charge. 10. Please procide coffee/tea free with meals/breakfast - currently chargeable at extortionate rates. 11. Guests visitors meals are charged at 395 EGP per person (open buffet) - this is very expensive a d without coffee/tea. 12. Develop a gym. Currenltt no gym or swimming pool. 13. Lastly, Internet is a big problem at the hotel- hardly connects or too too slow.

- Isabel (8/5): Well staffed and tourist-friendly - This hotel is centrally located; close to the port and the The Great Alexandria Library (which we cared about). The room was clean and ready when we arrived. The hotel is well-staffed and consequently has good customer service - we noticed the difference with other Egypt hotels. For example, during breakfast all kitchen/dining staff members were attentive to our needs (bringing coffee/juice). They also offer to hold your luggage bags after check-out. We only stayed a night and wanted to explore the city some more a second day and they kept our bags safe and sound. This seemed like a less tourist hotel and we found many Egyptians staying there too, so it was a nice experience. Other items: the front desk staff we talked to did not know many of the tourist information for the museums or the library and the internet was not so great in the personal rooms (worked better in common areas). We also were able to see an Egyptian wedding photoshoot in the lobby - the bride look gorgeous.

- Asia (8/5): Amazing breakfast defo worth the stay! - The hotel was lovely & charming. Is in a great location near the sea, shops and most historical sites. Free drinks were offered while we waited for check in. However we had to wait 1.5 hours after check in time for our room to be ready. Once in the room it was lovely and clean. The breakfast was amazing, there was so much variety and everything looked & tasted delicious. The swimming pool was on the rooftop adjoining the fantastic rooftop area with a fab view of the city and sea. Definitely worth a stay!

By walking you can get everything cafes, restaurants, diving center, Cornish area, all transportation is easy to be reached from the hotel. The breakfast was excellent they have many options. The swimming pool area was good and they had cafe & restaurant. The only issue I have faced that the out side noisey can’t be stopped. In general the hotel was good and the service is good.

Was sick and had to buy some food from outside. Food was refused to be taken into room. So, allow the hotel to confiscate the food. Overall, looks quite a cheapskate hotel that provide liitle basics.
- World Traveler (2/5): Poor Staff follow-up - Had booking company call hotel in less than 24 hours of booking then follow up with calls 2 more additional times. The hotel management and staff was not honest and staff promised the hotel manager to return their calls but he did not offer an honest business agreement. I will not recommend this hotel and advise others not to book here.
- Michael (2/5): HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE>>>NEVER AGAIN - I spent 4 nights is that terrible place. During my entire stay 3 elevators out of 4 were down and in many times we had to use the staff elevator which was always occupied by guests and staff members and you have to wait a very long time for it. Staff did not try to help at all. In a matter of fact, I had to climb 9 level high to reach my room and overtime I would speak with the staff trying to figure out what the problem is ..you would hear a new story from every single one of them trying to explain how hard they are trying to fix this issue. For over 4 nights nothing was done... IT IS PATHETIC My room and the rest of the rooms have terrible views I've taken a photo of that ROMANTIC VIEW across from my room (attached). They offer FREE SODA, but by the time you get someone to help you, it could take about 15 mins, then a staff member would start asking all these questions to verify that you are a guest..... They made me feel like they are giving away a FREE BOTTLE OF WINE with all these questions they ask.... it is NOT WORTH IT. Breakfast is the same they don't change a bit of it every single day.... VERY BORING... Internet (which is only available in the lobby) is extreeeeeeemly slow. DO NOT rely on that free lobby internet service they provide. Terrible experience and you could get more for the same price you are paying... DO NOT RECOMMEND.

- Michael (8/5): Nice hotel close to Corniche and Other Sites - We arrived late-morning on the train from Cairo and took a taxi to the hotel. At first, the taxi drivers did not know where this hotel was until we figured out the name of the hotel had recently been the "Grand Royal Alexandria" Hotel. Despite arriving before the official check-in time and fully expecting to store our luggage for a few hours, the hotel staff offered us cold drinks and offered us a seat in the lobby while our room was prepared. We were soon escorted to our Mediterranean view room which we found to have plenty of room for two people plus luggage. Mornings featured a very good breakfast including made to order omelets and we enjoyed a lunch and a dinner at the onsite Toscana restaurant. The hotel staff was very helpful, assisting in the purchase of our return train tickets to Cairo, rectifying a problem with one of the in-room Wi-Fi codes we purchased, storing our luggage after check-out time on our last day, and arranging our taxi ride to the train station at the end of our stay. We walked to a number of local attractions including Ft. Qaitbey, Biblioteca Alexandrina, the National Museum, Kom el-Dekka Roman Amphitheater, and the Corniche. There is a great view of the sea and city from the rooftop and the swimming pool is very nice.

- Aaron (10/5): Comfort as Advertised - We found this hotel to have excellent service and a nice place to rest our heads. It had all the comforts that was advertised: king size bed, good air conditioning, a working shower and spacious room. We would love to stay here again.
- Adam (4/5): Mediocre at best - The only good parts are the free soft serve ice cream and the location. The rooms are strangely designed and laid out. My bathroom door was locked upon arrival and had to get someone to open it for me. Wifi is only free in the cafe, but if you try to get the password from them they say you have to buy something in the cafe its not actually free. Also if you order something they will bring your a bottle of water along with it, this is not free! if you open it you buy it. this it turns out is standard practice in alexandria, but it felt like a scam at the time. The location is good though and alexandria is a great city to visit.
