Having a radio playing quietly when first entering & a rubber duck in the bathroom were nice touches. The staff were all superb, very polite & helpful & the food was very good. Despite the obvious age of the building the place was immaculate. Air con would be nice but is it possible in such an old building?

Very friendly and accommodating staff, room was clean and comfy, nothing to criticize! Beds and pillows little hard but thats only a personal issue

The staff couldn’t do enough for you - shout out for Stacey who was the most delightful person ever. So lovely to get such a personal welcome and stay. - Andrea (8/5): Enjoyed our stay - The staff is absolutely lovely and helpful. Place is very central so you can wander around the town centre. We travelled by car so we could go and visit other places which were at perfect distance from the hotel. Easter lunch was really nice and we had a good time. All the rooms face the back of the hotel, where the outside area of the bar is, therefore customers would sit to have their drinks and a chat. This is totally fine and understandable however I'd suggest to advise customers to be mindful of people staying overnight as they might not want to be disturbed if it gets louder. We had this issue the first night and couldn't sleep until past midnight. We spoke to the staff about it and they have been very kind and understandable and when we asked if there was a quieter room they managed to move us in a room that was further away from the bar area, which helped a lot.

- Goodstas (10/5): A Very Relaxing Stay 😊 - We stayed here for one night but would’ve been lovely to have stayed longer , we were warmly greeted on check-in and this warmth and friendliness continued throughout our stay, the room had everything required an extremely large comfy bed , comfortable pillows, cozy bathroom with the most powerful and hot shower, just perfect with some lovely smelling toiletries and white soft towels. We had dinner here and it was delicious and again the staff very attentive. We also had breakfast which set us up for the day ahead. You helped yourself to Continental to start with and then they took the order for the hot food. The girls working that morning the 29th of March were absolutely amazing. They made you feel like you had known them for far longer than their fleeting visit in your life. I would highly recommend this hotel . It is in the perfect location to get to Braintree town , Braintree shopping outlet and Chelmsford. Thank you for making our stay , one we will repeat , all staff were engaging and very friendly, a very relaxing stay was had!

A premier Inn would be much better value more luxurious and warm - Heating in room was inadequate and too cold .. unable to turn radiators up any higher and not much heat coming out of them . Bedding was not particularly good quality and there were no additional blankets etc in room. Could not find hair dryer. Tv was too small for size of room ie too far from bed fro size of tv. Overall for the cost and a supposed „ superior room“ (?) very disappointed

The breakfasts were tasty and great value for money. Pub food was superb, the onion petals delicious. Sadly, the WIFI was a big let down. However, had we brought this slight problem to the attention of the receptionist, she would’ve gave us a much better connection. As I’ve said previously, the staff were exceptional and truly professional and I’ve no doubt they’d of rectified the problem immediately. But although a let down, not a big problem. Thank you for a great stay.

We had dinner in the restaurant which wasn't busy, food wasn't that bad, portions small and service was exceptionally slow, staff were too busy talking apart from one waitress who was clearing tables and taking orders. I think the staff were unaware that there was a food critic in the restaurant taking notes. Breakfast was OK. Hotel car park very busy, 2 disabled parking spaces which were hidden by barriers, we managed to park there for an hour before attending a funeral. We managed to park, but was extremely hard getting my husband out of the car, he was the driver.

- Andrea (10/5): Alloggio che ti fa respirare la tipicità del luogo. - Hotel molto caratteristico vicino all'aeroporto di Stansted. Ottimi la colazione e il ristorante. Anche la hall con bar annesso è perfetta. Le camere sono spaziose e pulite, fornite di acqua all'arrivo (cosa molto apprezzata) e una radio accesa con musica di sottofondo che ti mette subito a tuo agio. La struttura è ben collegata con l'aeroporto tramite diverse linee di autobus. Lo staff è molto cordiale. Mancano le prese vicino al letto, ma credo sia una cosa fatta di proposito e mi sono adeguato.
