- Simon (2/5): Unpleasant room, appalling service but at least I didn't have a mouse in my bathroom - Convenient if you're at the SEC - 15 mins walk away with bars and restaurants nearby. Breakfast wasn't too bad. But I absolutely wouldn't stay here again. My room smelt of cigarette smoke on check in. The hotel was full so there was no chance to change room - the receptionist was sympathetic but with a "tough luck I don't care" attitude at the same time. Told me she'd be on in the morning and the manager would be available from 11am but she'd call me. Checked out the next morning, different receptionist, clearly no hand over as she had no idea about the night before. Was again told the manager would be available from 11am and she'd call me. Went back to collect my bags mid-afternoon and of course the manager wasn't available "she'd be in tomorrow". Unsurprisingly I never got a call from anyone. Rather unpleasant looking stains on the seat in the room (see photo) and the bathroom cabinet was suffering water damage. On the plus side, I didn't have a mouse in my bathroom which is what one lady was complaining about on the first night when I checked in!

- Nicole (1/5): - I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. On the second night of my stay, I discovered a mouse in my room. This was completely unacceptable, especially given the expected standards of cleanliness and hygiene in a hotel environment. I immediately reported the issue to reception. Since then, I have been in contact with the hotel manager, and I was assured that I would receive a full refund due to the situation I had experienced. However, it has now been over three weeks and no refund has been issued. In addition to this, the deposit taken at check-in has also not been returned. The lack of follow-through has been very frustrating. I would not recommend staying here based on both the hygiene issue and the failure to resolve the matter promptly.

- Duncan (4/5): Not great. - The location is very convenient for the SEC. It took us about 20 minutes walking from door to door. There is a good traditional pub just at he end of the road. The hotel bar was rubbish, there is was as much atmosphere as a fart in a space suit. Breakfast was dismal to the point we got a taxi to Weatherspoons. Power went out in the room whilst in the shower which was an experience. Everything seemed warn and over used. Won't be rushing back.

- Eva (7/5): It was okay - The staff were quite nice for the most part. The breakfast was quite good. Good options. The express breakfast saved me when I had a really early morning excursion. The hotel is in a good place for city tours or want to walk to the OVO hydro. Surrounded by good restaurants and pubs and attractions. Clean. Smart TV was good for entertainment. While the breakfast was good, wish they had options for lunch and dinner. The bathroom is a bit tiny so if you're wide bodied, the toilet might be quite a hassle. The £100 pre-authorization felt very unnecessary and I've never heard of hotels charging that. Have not received back my money at the time of this review. The lift went out of service for like 2 days during my stay. I was lucky to not have to move my luggage up or down the stairs but it was still an inconvenience. The floorboards are quite noisy (even with the carpet) and walls so thin I could hear whoever was in the room above mine walking around and hear the 4am alarm from the next room. I could barely sleep.

The floors need to be seriously looked at due to dips everywhere, the bathroom floor was the worst. Some of the skirting is missing next to the desk. As for the £200 hold money is ridiculous, feel like we should charge them that amount just to get things fixed that need done.

Poor location for tourists of Glasgow, and the triple room has a small bathroom. - It was cheap compared to the others on offer, the staff were nice at the front desk, and the room was spacious and well kept. It was quite far from central Glasgow for the price, the £100 hold on the card seemed unnecessary and unusual, and the bathroom was quite small for a triple room.

- Beth (8/5): Great facilities and location - annoyed about the holding fee - The facilities and location were way beyond my expectation considering the price - really great value for money! I think it’s insane that I booked this because it was £60 per night then only on arrival was told I needed to pay a £100 holding fee that I wouldn’t get back for up to 10 days after check out. Clearly people are booking this room because they’re NOT rolling in cash - I’m lucky I could pay for this and wait for the money to come back in but had it been at the end of the month I simply wouldn’t be able to.

The mini fridge was such a bonus I really think you should mention when booking because I would always see that as a good selling point. Our only grumble would be the floor was so creaky, felt bad walking round, but would not put me off booking again.
