Bloke said he’s going to move us to a room with 2 single beds. Had to argue that We are having the room we paid for. Absolutely Wally.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Needs a lot of work - Positives: Bedroom was spacious, bedlinen clean, breakfast was freshly prepared. Negatives: Room had a smoky smell, one of the windows had no blinds or curtains, bathroom had hole where light should and was very dark, shower screen covered in mould, neither door locked, no toiletries (was given some when asked at reception), had to get hairdryer from reception (first come first served), breakfast tables poorly cleaned and headboard broken on bed. Was also difficult to get staff at reception desk to help with queries.
- Sam (6/5): - Lovely location in quiet village Ample free parking We didn’t get chance to use the pub or restaurant so unable to comment View from room was stunning of the surrounding hills By car it was 10 minutes into Sheffield city centre or 10 minutes to Barnsley or Rotherham Easily accessible from the motorway Nice reception and easy check in with friendly staff Room was huge in size ( room 12) , the negatives were that the kettle was broken , there was no plug in the bath so couldn’t use the bath for the time we were there, no extra pillows available and the room was dated , we did report the issues but they weren’t rectified , if we didn’t have those problems I would’ve easily given a higher review , lots of good points about our stay and the hotel though still

- James (8/5): Mystery Boooking - Strange, the Hotel told me that my reservations had been cancelled because of a take over of the Hotel group so I booked directly. Hotels,com confirmed the booking but the Hotel did not mention that reservation when I paid against the Hotel Invoice.

- Clive (4/5): - Would not recommend, the website states that they have a restaurant but when checking in and enquiring about an evening meal was told they only do breakfast. Breakfast service and quality not good, on the second morning went out for breakfast in a local pub, it was cheaper and much better quality and service. Bed not made and room not cleaned after first night's stay
- Pauline (6/5): Interesting stay - The hotel had apparently changed hands since I booked it. The current owners had only opened 2 weeks before our stay and what they could offer was limited. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. The bar was open and they plan to open the restaurant soon. We ate at a local pub which was only a short walk from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful.Given I had booked the hotel around 4 months ago as it was convenient for a sporting event we were taking part in over Easter weekend, we were relieved that it was open.

- Daniel (10/5): Warm & cosy - The room was warm, clean and comfortable. I had a great night's sleep. The hotel itself is conveniently located for Barnsley, Rotherham or Sheffield. There's a Lidl and an ASDA nearby if you need anything, and various late night fast food places in Chapeltown. There's a decent amount of free parking. Make sure you enter through the hotel entrance (on your right as you look at the building)..I arrived in the evening and followed another guest into the left hand entrance and we were stood in the empty bar area for a few mins wondering where everyone was!

- Julie (4/5): Disappointed - Disgusted to receive a parking fine despite my car only being there to drop luggage off when checking in and picking up in the morning and as I did put my registration number in the check in form. The room was ok and had been recently renovated but the furniture was old. Stair and hall areas very much in need of renovation. No choice at all for breakfast, full English or full English, nit great.

- Stephen (10/5): Excellent experience - I had an excellent experience during my 3 night stay at this hotel. Zeeshan, in particular, deserves a special mention for being the most wonderful host. He was incredibly professional, courteous and always willing to help with any request – nothing was ever too much trouble for him. Despite the light renovations taking place I did not experience any disturbance at all, which is testament to how well-managed everything was. The hotel’s location is ideal, with plenty of dining options nearby. Additionally, the breakfasts served at the hotel was delightful – a well cooked small feast to start the day. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again in the future.

- Abul (2/5): NO HOT WATER & NO CENTRAL HEATING - Very Disappointed , we stayed for 1 night last Monday 11/04/22 but Room was so cold without Heater which didn't work at all & also no Hot water too. I wouldn't recommend to anyone!
- Mark (2/5): Embarrassing… - Embarrassing One star is too many, this hotel is a disgrace and the fact it’s marketed as a “Wyndham Trademark collection” is almost hilarious. The 3 rooms I booked were all the same so this clearly isn’t an isolated incident or an oversight. The rooms were filthy, carpets heavily soiled with what looked like blood stains and definitely hadn’t been hoovered in a while, covered in cigarette burns, cobwebs everywhere, damaged furniture, strong smell of vomit, mouldy showroom, damp stains all over the ceiling, broken toilet seat and to top it off the toilet had urine in it on arrival. Simply appalling! Staff when available weren’t approachable or at all welcoming, the check in experience was all a bit vague, to the point where we had to look for our own rooms. No one around at checkout so we simply left. To put it bluntly this place is a shambles and a health hazard, definitely living up to its STAINdrop name
- Jonathan (4/5): Cheap but not too happy. - Booked a room including breakfast. Was told in the morning that this is only continental (which was a croissant and juice so not much). Hot breakfast would be nearly £7. This being despite the cost of a room with and without breakfast being £7. I ordered the breakfast and explained to them I had already paid in my room cost. They agreed once they saw nowhere in the advert did it state it was not for the hot food. Bathroom smelled. Bedding was pretty poor. No mattress protectors. The only redeeming feature was its location for me and it was cheap. Wouldn't stay again.
- John (8/5): Nice place - Nice clean room mattress is a bit flat big room quick and easy booking in its a bit expensive food wise pu down the road is ok more food options the nearest shops about 15 mins uphill with a few more pubs but going back to the trainstation there are a quite a few more and restaurants and takeaways

Property is dated and rub down, windows didn't close, curtains were torn and hanging off the rails, radiators never been bled so had to switch ofd due to horrendous noise. Although it states breakfast is included beware, they will charge £10 each for a full english that is awful and the 'included breakfast' is a croissant and some cereal. There is a subway and big asda just down the road, go there for food!

However there were wine stains on the carpet, the shower head was a bit grotty. Bedding was nice and clean but average in terms of comfort. Good on site facilities, short staffed though. Took half hour to check in and although I paid for breakfast there was limited options.

- Dion (2/5): Dirty Room - Arrived, my room was allocated to somebody else as there name also ended in G. They got us another room - stank of smoke and had a rubber glove on the smoke alarm to stop it going off. The carpet was disgusting I had to ask somebody to hoover it which they did straight away. There was empty shower gels in the bathroom and the toilet seat wasn’t connected to the toilet pan. The next morning we were snowed in so the customers dug out the car park with no help or input from the staff. The guy on reception was trying and apologetic but I wouldn’t stay here again.

- Simon (6/5): Lovely Hotel, but some wirk needed. - Overall my stay was a pleasant one, hotel was clean and staff friendly and accomodating. Food both dinner and breakfast were of a high standard. And hotel communal areas were clean and well kept. I was told on checking in that the free wifi would not be available as routers were being replaced, which I accepted. I stayed overnight in room 1, my only issues were a very cheap matress on the double bed which was not upto hotel standard and lead to a very restless nights sleep, the central heating in the room was not available, despite turning the radiators to full heat when I arrived. Finally there was a water leak on the bathroom bidet, which overtime left a very unpleasant smell in the room. I would love to see this hotel do well and could see that work was being done to improve things after a recent change of ownership.
- EMMANOUIL (2/5): NOT POSSIBLE USE THE BATHROOM. - not possible to had a shower after a hard days work for 2 days because was not possible to adjust the water for the bath always running very hot burning water, the ventilation in the bathroom wasn't working so all the whole room smelled,I told the receptionist to fix it but nothing happened.I demand that the money I paid be returned to me.

However there was a black rubbish bag in the corridor outside our room together with a hoover when we arrived and it was still there the next morning. There was a sofa in the room which had a big hole in it with the stuffing coming out. With a few improvements it could be a very nice hotel.

- Ram (4/5): Disappointing - The Hotel opened recently after the Pandemic closure. The carpets were stinky and the towers were not fresh and it was too hot in the night - couldn't sleep at all. I wouldn't recommend until they do a deep cleaning or changing the carpets in the rooms. However the staff were kind and can't fault them.
- Sarah (2/5): Absolutely filthy - This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Every surface in the room was full of dust and the carpets and bed had red stains all over it. This place needs an emergency deep clean. Im offended that I have been charged £120 to stay here. Its beyond me how no one could be bothered to at least give the room a polish before we arrived. It was a room for x4 people and we had 1 towel between us and 2 tiny cups. We did ask for more and this was arranged. So unhappy with the cleanliness. See pictures.

All the staff in the hotel, restaurant and bar are always friendly, helpful and professional. If I have one complaint it’s that the beds are a little too firm for our liking. But it’s clean, spacious rooms and in good condition.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet hotel. Note - this place is a maze. Lots of stairs and long corridors. I booked this hotel because I thought Expedia included breakfast in the room rate - there are other choices nearby in this price-point. Whilst we only ate breakfast (which was good) 1 day of 2 we were told that we weren't on the list and based on the booking info, we couldn't prove it. The hotel kindly (eventually) fed us. But it was an unnecessary hassle - Expedia needs to be very clear in the booking details and confirmation.
- Peter (8/5): Pleasant stay - Lovely room size and upgraded to a good standard, particularly the bathroom. Mattress a bit soft for me but every taste will differ. Just a little noise late on but there was a wedding on. If you need to stop in this area on the outskirts of Sheffield then you won’t get better than this hotel. Which is also handy for the trains.

Didn’t used to book this as it was very pricy and I stay over at least once a week so I was pleasantly surprised to see prices have dropped, not sure if it was a one off or if prices will go up but would recommend.
