Guest Reviews
- Nancy (10/5): - The hotel was good, desk attendant welcoming, lots of parking for trailer. Check out very easy.
- Louis (10/5): - Because I booked early with Expedia I was able to get a cheap room that was clean and exactly what I needed and where I needed it to be. The frontdesk person allowed me to come in early they were nice and efficient. Thank You
- Gail (10/5): - Right next door to a chicken restaurant which was very good
- Margaret (10/5): - We were greeted by a very helpful and polite young man. ✅ The location right off highway 20 was great. ✅. The beds were very comfortable. ✅. There was a fridge and microwave in the room. ✅. Good price. ✅ Quiet. ✅ Recommendations: a more secure lock on the door, and more towels/facecloths.
Otherwise, all good!
- David (10/5): - Nice people
- Patrick (8/5): - Clean room, friendly/helpful staff
Good value for money
- Heather (8/5): - Theres a chicken place you can walk to.and few other places 5 minute drive.
Good value for money.
Small clean rooms. Only 2 towels and 2 face cloths..usually you get a hand towel.
- Penelope (8/5): - The area I didn't like so much.
- Tony (10/5): - A hidden gem on the route to the east coast. If you are travelling from southern Ontario this is a nice first day stop with less than 10 hours drive to Halifax. The staff was incredible and the place was clean and tidy. I’ll be returning.
- Darrell (8/5): - The owner of the motel was onsite to check me in and was very pleasant and courteous! It's a motel nothing extravagant but what I needed for a quick and safe place to stay on a drive from NS to Toronto. Price was fair conaixeringita peak summer teavel time. Would stay there again.
- David (8/5): - Clean and tidy. Staff hospitality is excellent.

- Lucette (10/5): - The manager went above and beyond to help us out. We had car troubles and had to les e the car 15 minutes away. He drove us next morning
- Timi (10/5): - This stop over hotel, was perfect. After a long day, long drive, I was greeted warmly, given a bottle of water ( Hampton you need to be Diamond level or something like that for a free bottle of water) and in my room in a few minute. Super clean. This is an older motel, but well kept and comfortable.
- Debbie (10/5): - The staff was very nice, clean room
- Robert (10/5): - An excellent motel. Friendly manager who assisted us with our luggage and upgraded our room. Clean and quiet. We would definitely stay there again!
- Pat (4/5): - For the amount paid for a single night, sorely disappointed with the comfort level. For a quick pit stop, not bad, but for an aged person it was lacking in the sense of safety. The door to the hall is always locked because one cannot access the hall. I was not pleased about my percieved personaly safety.
- Raymond (10/5): Good place to stop - Affordable easy stop on a road trip. Clean and comfortable
- Marilyn (10/5): - Perfect. Front desk attended was very friendly and helpful. The suite was clean and the bed and pillows where great.
- Shelley (8/5): Clean , easy access, good price - Older hotel but being renovated. Our bathroom was brand new. Quick night right off highway. Very clean. Continental breakfast included. Quiet, safe area. Would stay again.
- Nathalie (6/5): - La personne à l'acceuil ne parlait pas français.
- judith (10/5): - This is my go to place when I’m travelling between provinces. Always friendly, and although it’s older motel itl has everything I need. Fridge, microwave, desk, great wifi coffeemaker. Super location just off HW 20
- Nonie (10/5): - Appreciate the warm and friendly welcome. Room is clean and comfortable - can tell it is well taken care of. Good night sleep - very comfortable. Thanks Kai
- Daniel (10/5): - Clean and quiet rooms
- Robert (10/5): - It's obvious the owners really care, they have done a good job creating a very clean but reasonably priced facility.
- Laurie (10/5): Perfect stop - Great stop on our way to Nova Scotia, nothing fancy, a clean place to rest up for another day of travel
- michael (8/5): - Don’t give out 5 star unless motel is absolutely amazing, it a very clean and comfortable for 1 night stay.
Check in guy was a hoot to talk to.
- Henry (6/5): - Room was small but comfortable. Best sleep i had in a while.
- Amanda (10/5): - Simple, quiet, convenient and affordable. Exactly what we need for a long road trip! Very friendly staff.
- Alphee (10/5): - Kai was very friendly and the room very clean. Great value.
- Mohammad (10/5): - Very close to highway rooms are clean and quiet. Very relaxing environment with plenty of parking and restaurant at walking distance.
- Gabriel (10/5): Typical 2 stars motel - Basic motel but it's good at what it is. Great amenities: cable tv, microwave, minifrig. Everything is clean.
- Alain (4/5): - First, it is not a hotel, it is a motel. Room was outdated (mid 80's), small, no closet, very very noisy little fridge. Wi-fi password was on a small sticker on the tv and was unreadable. Bed matress very hard.
- Laddawan (6/5): - Our room was furnished from the 1990s. It was clean and liveable but pretty old.
- Olga (8/5): - Friendly professuonal staff that is there 24/7! Got a bottle of water and was lended a kettle for boiling the water.
Very conveniently located, just off a highway.
Not liked: some smell in the room as if some guests smoke.
- Rachel (10/5): - Very pleased considering that I was less satisfied at a chain hotel recently because i had certain expectations despite not having done any research. I just figured that I knew what I was getting.
For this stay, I looked up the reviews, amenities, and location. It met most of my expectations and even exceeded some that i didn't have. This was a very inexpensive stay during our roadtrip and I will consider this location in the future.
Points to sustain: Friendly and helpful staff (and they spoke English!!). Cleanliness. Comfortable temperature and bed. Given bottles of water when checking-in.
Points to improve: More pillows, or firmer pillows. There was one per person/spot in the bed. Shower: poor water pressure and temperature difficult to get right. I didnt end up taking a shower for those reasons.
- Pete (10/5): - Host was extremely friendly and inviting. Great first impression! Room was exactly what I needed: cheap, close to the highway and quiet. Somewhere to grab some sleep on the way to your destination. Perfect!
- Joanne (10/5): - Would definitely stay again. Inexpensive, but clean, neat, well-supplied, well-maintained, staffed by friendly and efficient people. Highly recommend.
- Kathryn (8/5): - It is clean and efficient. The pillows were to hard tho
- Gord (10/5): - Good room for the price.
- Nathan (10/5): - Staff were exceptionally friendly, our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable
- Bill (10/5): - Not fancy but nice. Like home. Very reasonable price. Friendly and helpful staff.
- Diane (10/5): Superbe endroit ! - Superbe endroit tranquille, propre, bien situé, avec four micro-ondes, frigidaire et kit à café incluant deux bouteilles d’eau. Accueil chaleureux 24/24, bref je recommande cet endroit.
- Victoria (10/5): - Stayed here on night en route to Gaspe. Noticed a day later my prescription glasses were missing. After several calls to other places I stopped in on the way back in case I had left them at this motel and Kai, the manager, had them set aside in safekeeping. He literally saved me $700 in eyeglass replacement costs. Not only did he find my glasses but he offered me 2 bottles of cold water for my journey. He is an amazing host. Wonderful integrity and kindness. People make the business. Thank you Kai !!!
- Wendy (8/5): Quick stop! - Quick stop while traveling
- debra (10/5): - Simple but all you need. Lovely welcome.
- Haiming (8/5): - very clean and well managed, near highways.
- Shichuang (10/5): - Good service
- Christopher (10/5): - Great place to stop if in a pinch
- Tracey (10/5): - Very clean and welcoming. We were greeted with a warm smile and cold bottles of water after a hot day driving. He showed us to our room and explained everything to us. The motel lobby and rooms were spotless. We would definitely stay again
- Mackenzie (10/5): - Staff is very friendly. Place was clean and loved that it had a mini fridge and a microwave!!
- PIERRE (10/5): Perfect service - Excellent service
- Sean (8/5): - Right off the highway and a good stoppi g poi t on my long drive. Most affordable in the area when i checked
- Joseph (10/5): - Staff was very polity, professional and accommodating.
- Cathy (10/5): - We were so happy with our stay while in St. John. The bed was huge, room was very clean, lovely bathroom . Everyone we met there was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back the next visit we take with our daughter who is now living there.
- SHARON (4/5): - I was greeted very well. Allan was very friendly and outgoing. The rooms were small for two people to reside in. Only one chair that was comfortable and a desk chair. Only one night table. The bed was comfortable.
- Deirdre (6/5): - Friendly, helpful manager.so kind.
Double bed by the door in room 15 creaked and squeaked every time I moved. A little bit noisy.
Coffee next door at the convenience store. Great to have the fridge inthe room.
- Gisele (10/5): - The owner is very friendly and welcoming. Room was perfect for what we were looking for. Clean room and linens were fresh. We were only looking for a bed for a few hours on our way from Nova Scotia to Ontario. The price point is excellent for those not willimg to spend 200 or more.
Located beside a gas station and convenience store. We found it a little noisy at times but never affected our sleep.
- Jean-Marc (8/5): - For a quick overnight stay wile traveling, it was clean and comfortable, though very dated.
I didn't see any air conditioning units anywhere though so I was glad it wasn't hot on the night I was there.
I would probably avoid this place if it's during a heat wave.
- MINA (2/5): - The room was unbelievable smelly, I had to check out immediately
- Julie (8/5): - Friend staff, very easy access from highway 20, good price. If you don't like fastfood, you will need to drive a bit for better choices.
- Sheila (8/5): - The owner was very friendly. The room was clean and functional. However, more towels were needed. The beds were very hard, almost like being on the floor. The pillows were old and very floppy. The lighting is in need of upgrading. The room is ok for one night, but I would not recommend it for more.
- Deanna (6/5): - This hotel was very convenient for our trip home from the east coast. Right off the hi way and relatively inexpensive. However, you get what ypu pay for.
The host was very friendly and polite. He made a point to show me the room and explain how to use everything.
Thank goodness there is no smoking in the building. Although, it still reeked of smoke from outside. There were popcans filled with cigarette butts. I get it, they are ashtrays for guests to throw out the ends of their cogarettes but still, i found it off putting. At least make it part of the cleaning and empty the tins out each day.
Also, the toilet ran all night and only one socket of thr one available outlet worked in the room. Phones did not get completely charged.
Other than that, the sheets and bathroom were clean and it provided us with a shelter for the night.
- Andrew (6/5): - Bare bones motel.
- Lynda (10/5): Great price, excellent staff and spotless room. - We were driving from Halifax to Toronto and needed a place to stay to break up the drive. Hotel Rayalco was perfect. Staff was friendly and efficient. The decor in the room was dated but, extremely clean. Rate was excellent.
- Catherine (10/5): - Very basic but very clean and polite, helpful staff!!
- Emrys (8/5): - 😄
- Jose (10/5): - Manager is very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. He even gave us bottles of water to welcome us. Room was exceptionally clean. Room was quiet and comfortable. A great place to stay.
- Lishma (10/5): - Excellent Hospitality, friendly and very helpful owner and highly recommended!
- Jessica (10/5): Very good service - Service was excellent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Every thing was nice clean and comfortable room and very relaxing atmosphere was very good
- CarlaGoode (8/5): - Very nice people.
A hidden gem!!
Cleanliness was superior!!
- Carlos (10/5): - The personel are friendly .. They made us feel confident with the unit ..
- Jackie (10/5): - Clean and comfortable. The owners were very warm and friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very accommodating and friendly staff. Quiet area. Great place to stay outside of Quebec City. Easy to get to and back on the highway.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Weird smell around the motel. Inconvenience with the staircase. Dusty in the room, stains in the sink, toilet and bathtub. Not recommended.
- Linda (8/5): - This is a simple, pleasant place to stay. The manager is extremely attentive. The beds were excellent; the room was immaculate; and it was very quiet. Only negative was the mildew odor. There was no carpeting, so perhaps all the carpets were removed recently due to mildew, and the odor will subside. On the plus side, the wood floors in the hallway and room were very attractive.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This place is nothing fancy, but incredibly clean. The reception was fantastic. The lovely man humoured me with my broken french and taught me a few french words before showing me to the room. It is right beside the autoroute, but we weren’t disturbed by traffic noise at all. The shower had fantastic water pressure and temperature. There is a rotisserie chicken place right next door and a convenience store. A Tim Hortons and a grocery store are less than a 5 minute drive in the local area. Clean, comfortable beds were what we needed and we weren’t disappointed. English and french basic tv channels. We would crash here again if ever there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice location next to a store and a chicken restaurant
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Awesome place to stay. I would recommend this to everyone.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property is conveniently located right off hwy 20.
Allan (owner) was very friendly and helpful.
The room was very clean and comfortable.
Will definitely stay again.
- SL (8/5): - Small but has everything. :-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was clean with a fridge and stove - if we were staying longer this would have been a great room to stay in for a few days.
We would stay here again if the opportunity arises
The owners were extremely friendly and helpful with no language barrier as we do not speak French.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I got a nice healthy salad at the Takeout place next door
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This motel wasn’t fancy but it was clean and had everything we needed for an overnight staff. Staff were friendly and prices were reasonable. Beds were comfy. I would stay here again if I was in the vicinity.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel - Very nice and friendly service. Best in the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Spent New Year's Eve here. About 20 min drive from downtown Quebec City. Very clean room, as was motel in general. Our host was extremely helpful, providing maps of the city and where we might want to visit that evening. He was kind enough to also clear a path for us out of the car park the next day after a heavy snowfall the previous night. Altogether an enjoyable, brief stay. Strongly recommend this cozy location, particularly for short-term trips.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly reception, room was clean, warm and comfy.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It cost more than it should have for the bare-bones amenities and inconvenient location
- Lauren (10/5): - Easy to find, right off the highway. Close to dining and shops. Spacious rooms and extremely kind staff!
- Valerie (8/5): - Clean and quiet place to stay. Owner was friendly and accommodating. Bed was too firm for my taste but if you like a firm mattress it's fine. Room was very spacious.
- Trevo (8/5): - Very convenient location, with a great restaurant next door. The owner and his wife are very pleasant and try their best to make sure you stay is enjoyable. It is not a 5 star Hilton but it is perfect if you are passing through and need somewhere clean and comfortable to spend the night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall Staying is good and there is no issue - Owner is very helpful showing us the area where we need to go
- Lincoln (10/5): Nice and Clean Hotel Convenient to the Highway - Had a lovely one night stay at Hotel Rayalco. My wife and I were coming in very late (1am) and the owner was kind enough to call me and arrange access. The rooms was very clean, the wifi was fast, there is ample parking, and the bed is comfortable. Could not ask for anything more. Had a chance to meet the owners the following morning and they could not be friendlier and more welcoming. Would definitely stay again and it is the perfect location to explore the area or if you needed a place to rest while in transit.
- Legs (10/5): Clean, friendly convenient - Very clean room with kettle, fridge, and microwave. Wonderful staff, who were friendly and multilingual, and less than 2 minutes off the highway.
Very pleasantly surprised to find this little gem.
- jane (10/5): Great stop over - The staff were fantastic. Very welcoming. Place was spotless. Its a great hotel for a stop over enroute somewhere. Not much around but beside a gas station restaurant and convenience store...all pluses
