- Todd (8/5): The location was great for touring historical sites in Nauvoo. - Beautiful home furnished and decorated from the early 1900s. Getting breakfast was nice. The thermostat for the heater was in the library and seemed to work some and not work some.

We also like the selection of hot beverages that were available anytime we wanted. There was a fly problem in the attic where we stayed. Laurie helped us with trying to get rid of them. We believe it was just a time of year problem. Also the temperature control in the attic was very touchy. The air conditioning was extremely cold no matter what the thermostat was set at and then when it turned cold our last day and we turned on heat and it was too hot.

The guest rooms and common areas are beautiful and so comfortable. The afternoon/evening treats were delightful, and breakfast was so good. We especially enjoyed conversation with Laurie and the other guests around the breakfast table! A beautiful, relaxing stay!

The house is a restored victorian with tin ceilings, great woodwork and vintage stairs. Card games, puzzles, movies and other entertainments make breaking the ice with other guests easy. The hostess goes out of her way to make it feel like yoy are staying a a friend's house. The location is about a mile away from downtown so you have a quiet retreat away from the EFY kids and massive family crowds. Breakfast was wonderful and different every day.. Fullly cooked breakfasts, not cereal on the side board like some places. If you are looking for a more up scale place to stay in Nauvoo, this is the place. Nothing. Exceptional place to stay compared to all the others in the immediate vicinity. We would certainly stay here again.

She went out of her way to accommodate us in our various needs. It became a delight to go back to our place to stay. We visited, played games, played corn hole, and took a nap in the hammock. I couldn't wait to see what was for breakfast the next day, and I looked forward to the bright sunshine Laurie brought with her every time we saw her. The rooms were fun and so fitting for the setting. Mostly we always knew we would be well taken care of there. I loved staying here and will definitely bring my friends back!

It’s decorated beautifully and authentically, right down to the squeaky wooden floors and the period furniture. The setting is pretty with big trees and nice landscaping and the location was convenient to all the historical sites. Our host Laurie did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. We especially enjoyed the fabulous breakfasts each morning and her making us feel comfortable and welcome in her home.

This was our first time staying in Nauvoo while we visited for the Nauvoo & British pageants in August and Lauri, the Grand Innkeeper, was absolutely delightful! She is a natural hostess and put us at ease from the beginning to the end while being so friendly, accommodating, genuinely caring about us & our stay (and each of her guests)..and her food is yummy to the tummy while also being presented & plated so lovely! We enjoyed a delicious evening snack and scrumptious breakfasts each morning! Got an excellent night's sleep each night in a comfortable bed. Lauri toured us when we arrived and we can't wait to come back and stay again throughout the year, staying in any of the available, clean, beautifully appointed rooms. Lauri is a people person who has many talents that make her especially perfect as the Innkeeper of this gorgeous home. Laurie had some great recommendations for where to eat dinner after we arrived, but be aware - everything closes down early and most options are a 20 min drive to the next town. We enjoyed having a delicious breakfast with Laurie and then had a great day seeing Nauvoo. There aren’t many places to stay right in Nauvoo and this was an excellent choice!!!
- plhelzer (2/5): Nice breakfast BUT ……….,, - Nice grand house with history. Very nice breakfast with interesting fellow guest. We booked (and planned) to stay two nights. After the first night we visited Old Nauvoo and the LDS visitor center. About three pm we got a call that we needed to check out since THEIR records showed we only booked one night. An argument ensued but we showed them the printed email that said TWO nights. They didn’t care. They said we went thru a third party and we HAD to move out. So we went packed everting in our car. It was very embarrassing to be kicked out the street with nowhere to go. Please never use a third party service and go somewhere to stay.
- SFP27 (10/5): Mississippi River road trip - We would highly recommend this charming bed and breakfast. Nestled in o lovely setting close to town Susie, the innkeeper makes the stay all the more enjoyable. Man, can she cook! The inn has lovely guest rooms and cozy gathering spaces. If we ever get back to the area we will certainly try and stay again
- 936vickip (10/5): Overnght stay - We had a wonderful overnight stay. Our room was comfortable and extremely tidy. Breakfast was a feast, we weren't expecting. It's nice to know there are beautiful old homes still standing that can be enjoyed. We spent the afternoon visiting the historic part of Nauvoo, which you have to see. You can even catch a beautiful sunset at the end of Parley Street! Will be back!
- phlodgedad (10/5): Simply Wonderful! - Perhaps the best B&B I've ever stayed in. The home and grounds are beautiful, the interior is filled with period furnishings, and my room - I stayed in Beth's Forest - was gorgeous. My bed was very comfortable and the attached bathroom was small (this is an old house after all) but very nice. Arrival was a snap - key and welcome note left for me on a foyer table. As impressive as the accommodations were, the breakfast was amazing. I've never been to a B&B before were so much food - and really good food - was provided for breakfast. There are a couple of down-sides. First, its about a mile and a half from historic Nauvoo, down a narrow country road with no sidewalks. But since you'll drive your car here, that's not much of a downside. Second, Nauvoo (in September 2021) had precious few restaurant options and the bridge over the Mississippi to Fort Madison - which would ordinarily be a short drive to many more dining options - was under construction and closed. That's it. I highly recommend the Nauvoo Grand Bed and Breakfast, and would definitely stay there again.
- jdh2971 (10/5): Awesome Place - The picture is the room we had and it was great to say the least. Clean and bed was comfortable. Home made breakfast was awesome, could not want for any thing better. Susie was a great host. Internet worked great. Lots of history in this old house.
- Grant (8/5): fits the ambiance and mood of Nauvoo. - While I was expecting a stay in an older house of historic nature, I wasn't really prepared for the older house amenities. the creaky steps and small size of our bathroom and bed were a little disappointing. The breakfast in the morning was amazing! delicious foods and good conversation with our guests made it feel right at home.

- Go602307 (4/5): Bed not as advertised or stated in confirmation email - I'm giving this B&B 2 stars because our room, Beth's Forrest, was advertised as having a king bed but it was definitely a queen. When I asked the hostess upon our arrival about the bed size, she told me she also thinks it's a queen but she runs it for someone who does not live in the area and who wants it advertised as a king. A king is 76" inches wide. This bed was 62"wide, no way near a king. The house is lovely and the breakfast was pleasantly served and fine for us.

- TFullmer (10/5): - The Nauvoo Grand Bed & Breakfast is a bit away from the main area of Nauvoo, but it is located in a quiet and beautiful area. It is an old home and the outside is old, but the inside is beautiful, cozy and clean. Suzie, the caretaker, is sweet and perfect. She's also a wonderful cook. Our breakfast was presented beautifully and was absolutely delicious! We stayed in the Ellen's Orchard room. It is beautiful. It does not have an attached bathroom, but the bathroom assigned to it (not shared with other rooms) is the largest bathroom. It also has a jetted tub & shower. As long as you don't need to make nightly trips to the bathroom, this room is wonderful. If you do, need to make nightly trips, this isn't the room for you, but any of the others are just as beautiful.

- Michael (10/5): Step back 100 years......with indoor baths. - This is an interesting old house in NAUVOO with fun decor and great breakfast. There is not much in NAUVOO, but, I feel you are not a Mormon, there is a winery and Great bar across the street......may be the only bar in town. Went for the Mormon Pageant, it was fantastic.

- Derek (4/5): Debt collector - I stayed in grandma's attic with my wife and four kids. The room says it can sleep up to four and we would have to pay extra for additional occupants. I tried to pay before hand but The system isn't set up to process additional occupants so I came prepared with cash. Before breakfast was served, the owner came through and treated us like like criminals as I payed for the additional two occupants. A minute or two later, she showed up again and wanted more money for two more occupants without an explanation. Bottom line do not stay here if you have a family, because the owner does not want your family to stay here.
- Jim (10/5): Best place to stay in Nauvoo - This bed and breakfast is wonderful! It is clean, comfortable, old style and charming. The breakfasts are served at 8:00 am and are absolutely delicious, homemade, and filling meals. What a great start for the day! The bed was comfortable. The innkeeper is kind and courteous. The area is quiet and beautiful, and is a few blocks away from the main shopping area of Nauvoo. When I go back to Nauvoo, staying at this bed and breakfast will be a must!
