- susan (4/5): - This is a beautiful hotel in a very convenient location. Unfortunately, when we arrived late in the evening after a long drive received an assignment to a room, which was less than we expected. We were on the fourth floor, which was great, but they assigned us to an ADA style room, which was not what I had asked for or needed. Due to the late hour and our exhaustion, we were too tired to ask for them to change our accommodations. It seems to me that the room should’ve been saved for someone who needed it. I didn’t need to look at all of the equipment. The bed was low and uncomfortable. We were disappointed with our one night stay. When we went downstairs for breakfast, the breakfast bar had not been maintained and we had to ask for more provisions. It took a long time for it to be replenished.

- Myriam (10/5): - Great hotel - clean and comfortable all around. Wonderful bed! We had breakfast outside on the terrace, which was lovely. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the coffee maker in the room, it’s the very cheap kind of coffee that much lower grade motels use. In many other hotels of Fairfield’s standard, Keurig machines are the norm now.

- Ofelia (6/5): - Overall it was ok. Staff at breakfast was nice. I had a late check out @12:30. At 12:30, housekeeping was knocking at my door. I was trying to write a note thanking them and also apologizing I didn’t have more cash (it was only $4) and and also finish getting ready to leave. He was very rude. I have never been rushed out of my room in any of the hotels I’ve stayed at. Fairfield was recommended but I will not stay there ever again.
- Lynne (8/5): - Food ran out at breakfast with 40 minutes to go. Not well stocked or attended. Quality was not worth the expense. I left a docking station and was notified promptly and recovered it on way home. Good customer service.
- KristyM838 (8/5): New and beautiful! - New remodel. We asked for a room on the third floor facing the mountains and enjoyed the view. The ladies at the front desk were especially helpful. There is a restaurant about a block away that is easily walkable. The food is fine. And it’s so nice not to have to get back in the car. It was calming to be able to sit beside the fire pit and enjoy the sunset. Very friendly management here. Their attitude is to make the guest as comfortable as possible. The room right here is higher than in other hotels in the area, but we wanted something we could count on. It was well worth it to us. Only complaint with the new room design is that they’re using the air conditioners with the sensors that “know” when you’re in the room. It does NOT keep the room cool for the entire night. You have to get up and move around or change the temperature setting to make it come on again. I don’t know who thought of these things but it’s ridiculous! I hope someone in Marriott Corporate will pay attention to these comments.

- KATERYNA (6/5): - 1. Bathroom Amenities: There was no hair conditioner provided in the shower, but instead two bottles of shampoo. Additionally, the body lotion appeared to have already been opened and used, which is concerning from a hygiene standpoint. 2. Pillow Quality: There was no option to choose from different types of pillows, and the ones provided were of very poor quality. They lacked support, which made it difficult to get a comfortable night’s sleep. 3. Breakfast Meat Options: The buffet breakfast offered very limited meat options. The only available choice was spicy sausages, which may not suit everyone’s taste.

The hotel just completed a major renovation and the hotel sparkled. The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. The room was great. The breakfast area was one of the best organized and cleanest that I have seen. The young lady responsible took great pride in her work. It was a pleasure to stay there.

- brandalynt2016 (8/5): Clean and friendly with an extra firm bed - More like 4.5 stars. The check in people and breakfast staff were nice. The place seems to have been updated recently. Even the elevator smelled of new carpet. The breakfast had plenty to choose from, hot food and bagels and such. The shower was great. The only problem for both my husband and I (which rarely happens) was that the king bed was so hard. If you like extra firm, this place is for you. Maybe the mattress was brand new? I'd still come back for another visit and maybe ask for an egg crate.

Despite that happening we had a pleasant stay there. Just remember to put rubber mats in the handicapped bathrooms. :) Great service!

- 777NC (6/5): Noisy Saturday morning - Nice hotel and scheduled for an update / remodel so limited parking with the mass of containers sitting around the building. My BIG complaint is the garbage pickup at 6:25 AM on Saturday morning. It was so loud it must have woken half the building. We talked to the front desk, and it was passed off as a city thing. The hotel needs to fight for their guests instead not caring.

- itbetterbeclean (10/5): STAY HERE! - This hotel is better than many Courtyard/ Springhill/Residence Inn we have stayed at, in fact it’s better than some full service Marriotts. Saturday evening 3pm arrival room ready and receptionist very nice. King executive suite definitely worth it, you get extra space with large sofa and 2 huge TV’s. Hotel spotless and everything worked, Walked to Cousins for dinner across street food was great and they stay open late. Breakfast next day excellent and we were able to eat on outside patio. This is the #1 hotel in The Dalles I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.

There was also a really bad smell coming from the microwave.

Great location easy on/off the Hwy + walking distance to Cousins restaurant we like to visit when we travel through here and walking distance to Tesla Supercharger that we must use when travelling by. We travel across North America in our Tesla and usually will stay at Marriott brands: Fairfield, Springhill, Courtyard, etc... Even though it may seem all "Fairfields' or 'Springhills' may be the same - they are NOT! This one for this trip was very good, one of the best of the 6 we stayed in.

Here at The Dalles I was compelled to use 29,000 points for one night for the smallest king room I have ever encountered. Nice building but teeny rooms. And breakfast was unremarkable. No bread and no toast!! What about guests who prefer a light breakfast rather than mystery sausage, premade omelettes, and glops of oatmeal? Marriott let me down.

- Matt (6/5): - This Hotel is expensive! But it is new a d clean. We have stayed here many times in the past and it is always nice. Although their breakfast used to be decent but now it is horrible!!!
- bendwriter (8/5): Nicer room, terrible breakfast - Pros: The room was nice and clean, had all the usual amenities. Bathroom was large and well equipped. The room was quiet, with very little noise from anywhere outside. Beds (we had a 2 queen) were comfortable, with different pillow choices. Internet was pretty good. Staff was friendly. Fresh cookies in the lobby each night. Cons: Check-in took a lot longer than it should have. Only one clerk, and he was on the phone. I noticed other people in the back room, but none came out to help, even with several people in line. -Biggest con was the breakfast. While the breakfast area was spacious, clean and inviting, the food was terrible! Pre-packaged items that were not very good, some under-cooked bacon one morning, greasy sausage the next. No waffles like most places have. "Blueberry" muffins that tasted like blueberry perfume. Not at all what I'd expect when paying this much for a room.
- Anne (4/5): - Staff checking us in didn't seem to like their job or want to work too hard. When we finally found our room, it was open and a staff member was inside looking around... Just a weird way to start it all. We paid extra and ordered a nice large king room and they gave us an ADA room with bars and the fold down chair in the bathroom... It seemed like some of the guests were living there long-term. There was a group with lawn chairs smoking in a parking spot and into the grass that hung out long term. Made it feel slightly unsafe. Smoking people just outside the main entrance door, hard to ignore the smoke to walk into the hotel.
- Michael (10/5): Exceeded Expectations ❤️ - Exceeded our expectations! Such a friendly staff, clean, modern, beautiful hotel. Comfy bed, great showers! We will definitely stay again and again! PS. Our dog felt right at home in the manicured, gorgeous pet area.
- Marian (10/5): Stay here! - Check in was easy. The room was clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room was quiet and clean. The area around the Hotel was inviting. Great area to stay in.
- bethelandi (8/5): Nice place to stay. - Nice, fairly new property. At the moment, the signage and location take an extra minute to figure out, but you can get there. I appreciate the multi use containers on shampoo, soap, and conditioner. Yea! for eco friendly. The breakfast was ample and had variety. The pool was a little cool, but I got used to it. Plenty of parking. Nice stay.
- Brown_Samantha (8/5): Excellent night of rest super quiet and friendly staff - Great find! - The location of this Fairfield Inn is not the typical Marriot hotel area >>> behind a trailer court/park, and rental business that at first looked like a junk yard. It turned out to be a diamond property. Super quiet, lots of parking spaces. The entire hotel is very clean. Front desk staff was friendly. In the afternoon they have chocolate chip cookies. Breakfast had so many varieties, including bacon and four cheese soufflé (pre package and heated), plus croissant breakfast sandwiches. We got some hard boiled eggs, oatmeal with amazing toppings. Yogurt and banana. Very please with the selection. Our room was on the top floor, end of the hall next to the storage area. It is a king suite with extra separate living room, two TVs. Rarely do we get this kind of quiet. It made a great night of rest. Will definitely stay here again when passing through The Dalles.

- half-Brit (10/5): Everything was excellent! - We stayed here for four nights and had a delightful stay. Virtually every single staff member was friendly and polite, our room was sparkling clean and quite comfortable, and breakfast was great. This is a fairly new hotel and this type of quality was sorely needed in town. It's set back a bit farther from the freeway, so even the parking lot is fairly quiet. It's an easy short drive into town. Although we did not bring our dog, they welcome pets. They also have a very pleasant grassy 'back yard' area for kids to play, and a nice fireplace/patio area as well. The pool is indoor, although a bit small, it is open - unlike many other lodgings which did not reopen their pools after the Covid shutdown. We'll stay here again :-)
- micheles487 (8/5): Good Experience - Stayed here for a few nights while attending a wedding in nearby Hood River. Loved the room, felt very comfortable. Room & bath looked nice, and no weird smells (don't underestimate the importance of that one!). I don't want a room that smells like perfume or chemicals-- and Fairfield Marriott delivered. Polite & helpful staff, too. I recommend this hotel.

- plaidbagel (8/5): Quiet, ample parking. Great breakfast! - We stayed here one night last month. We were able to check-in about 30 mins early, which was nice. Ample parking and fresh cookies and lemon water available at check-in. The room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. I've stayed here before and prefer the room facing North for the better view of both the parking lot and the Gorge. The breakfast is amazing. They had a lot of fresh options and also had both gluten-free (cereal) and dairy free (milk and yogurt) options. We all found something. Plus, there was available staff. I wish they had more garbage cans as they filled up fast. My only complaint is for a room for 3 people we only had 2 wash clothes and 2 hand towels. If the room can sleep 4, it would be great to have that amount of items. Also, my kiddo always appreciates a pool, but be aware that the pool is quite small and only allows a max of 10 peeps. We ended up leaving when the room filled to 10+. This is a great option for The Dalles and is walking distance to a few restaurants and easy on/off the freeway or to downtown. Friendly staff and a nice little store up front with affordable options of drinks and snacks.
